Anyone else having this issue? I've updated to iOS 5.1 ota (not via itunes)
now my phone is broken.
it's stuck on an infinite loop of trying to set up my iphone
everytime i click "start using iphone" it will show an apple symbol and restart the process.
Freaking frustrating, you would think that apple would pick this up in UAT of the iOS 5.1 OTA Updates!!!!!

Hah, my mistake, it wasn't a hard reset, it was a restore, and if you had the decency to read the chain, you'd realise I posted a simple question and i was the one insulted. I.e. the common sense remark.
Trolls will be trolls right?
And it seems I definitely am not the only person with this issue But you know, keep scouring the forums being vindictive.

Since the screen doesn't work, it will be challenging to get it working, even thru iTunes. You will need to ask yourself if you want to invest more money in it or get a new one, especially since the contents will be lost since you don't know the passcode. Apple will gladly replace the screen for a cost that represents a significant portion of the price of a new. Once the screen is done, you may or may not be eligible for the free iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program.
Or, if you decide to salvage it and are strong of heart and firm of hand, you can replace the screen yourself for less. See here and note they carry kits with all needed tools and parts.

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios 5.1 and it broke bluetooth

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios 5.1 and it broke bluetooth with my Altec in-motion bluetooth speaker. I now have to "Forget the Device" and re-pair them each time I want to use the iPhone with that speaker. This always seems to work, but it takes way too long to be feasible as a long term solution. Occasionally if I don't "Forget the Device" the iPhone Bluetooth settings will show "Connected" to the Device, but no audio comes out of the speaker even though Music on the iPhone appears to be playing as it normally would if there really were a Bluetooth connection to the speaker. When that happens, I have to once again "Forget this Device" and start over again.

The iOS5 upgrade has made a mess of the bluetooth connectivity. iPhone4 was paired perfectly to 2012 VW GTI and played all playlists fine. After upgrade, can see the song, see the timer counting down as if it is playing, but no sound. AND iPhone 4s paired paired with 2008 BMW handsfree telephone before the update, now I can't use the phone in the car. WHAT GIVES??? Anyone with ideas out there???

IPhone 6--iOS 8.0.1 update broke my phone--"No Service" and touch id doesn't work

I installed the 8.0.1 update immediately, hoping it would fix an annoying pop-up that I had about being unable to download something.
Instead, after installing, I quickly found out touch id stopped working, and more importantly, I have NO carrier service whatsoever. I can't make or get calls, can't get or send texts, no data.
What is the deal? How long is this going to last? I only just got service Monday after my number port request took days to go through. I can't even get emergency calls from family at this point. I've paid for Verizon for 5 days, now and only had one full day of actual service!

Your not having cellular could be due to a bad port, or you may need to reset your network connection from settings-cellular from your iPhone.
Most issues I have found are changes to your device settings.
However Apple provides the update so that is where I would go to get solutions.

IOS 7 broke iPhone 4 FaceTime & Messages

Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 7, both FaceTime and Messages are broken. I've done a full backup/factory reset/restore sequence - still won't work. Not happy - anyone got a solution? Or can Apple PLEASE make iOS 6.1.3 available again?!

IOS 5 broke my iPhone 4

I downloaded the new update update (iOS 5) for my iPhone 4 a few weeks back and everything was running smoothly for about 3 days. Then all of a sudden I couldn't make/receive call or send/receive text messages. I thought it may be a temporary problem but I'm still having the same problem now. I searched the forum and tried a few things that others were suggesting but ultimately the problem still exists.
The exact problem: If I call someone I hear nothing on my handset, not even the ring even though the person I call has picked up and is talking. If someone calls me it goes straight to voicemail. If I try to send a text, it says problem sending (sometimes they go through but rare). I don't receive texts sent to me.
My iPhone 4 is unlocked.
I'm on network 3.
The phone shows full signal strength.
I deleted my iCloud account which temporarily fixed the issue for half a day.
Bluetooth/WiFi being on/off doesn't make a difference.
I have just downloaded the new update for iOS 5 (5.0.1) and it didn't fix the problem either. Any help would be nice? My iPhone is no longer a phone.

IOS 8 broke my Japanese keyboard. (iPhone 5s)

I am a native English speaker living and working in Japan and I require my iPhone's Japanese keyboard for everyday life. Please help!
The problem:
I updated to iOS 8 (from 7.0.4, iPhone 5s 32 GB) without issue last night before going to sleep. This morning I realised that I could not use the Japanese keyboard.
     -Word prediction & autocorrect both work fine when I start with the English keyboard.
     -I had not installed any new keyboards before the problem began.
     -When I switch from English to Japanese keyboards, Japanese characters do not appear when typing, only roman letters.
     -This only occurs with the "romaji" keyboard. The kana keyboard works but I've never used it before so it's kind of a pain.
     -The prediction line disappears and autocorrect stops working.
          -Can only get them back by closing & restarting the app.
     -I've tested several different apps, iMessage, Line, two different Japanese dictionaries, Spotlight, Pages, etc., all with the same problem.
     -I have since downloaded two other keyboards, MyScript - Stack & SwiftKey, Stack works but SwiftKey doesn't have a Japanese language pack.
Attempts to fix:
     -Restarted -> Didn't work.
     -Deleted all keyboards, restarted & re-added. -> Didn't work.
     -Added 3rd party keyboards. -> Didn't work.
     -Added Chinese keyboards. -> Chinese works, but I don't need it. I need Japanese.
     -Added & removed several other keyboards in different combinations. -> Didn't work.
After writing all this down I'm pretty sure the only solution may be to restore, but if anyone has any tricks I would be grateful! I haven't found anything on the web about this so maybe I'm a unique butterfly.

Having exactly same problem and couldn't manage to make it work.
This is really annoying since I need to write Japanese all the time.
Attempts to fix:
     - Restarted
     - Reseted
     - Removed keyboards and re-added
     - Backed up an restored
     - Installed the update (8.0.2)

IOS 6 Broke iPhone/iPod integration on my Pioneer 3200BT

Took the iOS 6 update last night, no problems, painless update for me However when I get in the car this morning and plug my phone in to listen to music on my car stereo (Pioneer 3200BT) it just gives an error code onthe screen and no music whatsoever.

Camera connection kit to iPhone 4 broke in iOS 4.2

Used it all the time then after upgrading iPhone and iPad to 4.2.1 it no longer works.

Me too, the SD card reader appears, as I can see the firmware info etc in the settings > about screen, but it just doesn't do anything when inserting an SD card.
However if I lock the SD card and then insert, it gives me the error message as if the media is corrupt. So it must be seeing the card inserted, but just won't trigger the screen to import photos like it used to before this latest bug riddled update...

IOS update 8.1.1 broke my iPhone 6 mic

Something in 8.1.1 has broken my iphone 6's microphone. I had skipped the 8.1 update by the way. I went from 8.0.X (forgot what one it was) directly to 8.1.1 and now I can no longer use Siri or talk to text or the front video because the microphone is VERY faintly picking up sound in any of those modes.
Apps like the Voice Memo's work perfectly so does the speakerphone when on the phone and so does video when recorded with rear camera.
Do I need to take this to the apple store?

My Iphone 3G has stopped responding, IOS system freeze, and my home button is broke, how do I fix this system freeze?

I have tried restoring from backup via itunes but it said error occured I cant do anything.. Help mee??

Try plugging it up to your computer and launching iTunes and either resetting it to factory settings or resetting to last sync. Hopefully it just noticing it's plugged up to iTunes will fix it. This happened to my friend once and all she had to do was plug it into her computer and that fixed it.

Does it look like iOS 7 upgrade caused original iPhone cords to lose connectivity with car USB port? Mine broke.

Really frustrating experience given how much we rely on our phones.

If I plug it into a wall outlet, the phone complaints about "Incompatible accessory", but begins charging. The problem is clearly at the software level, as the charge rate is noticeably slower.

IPhone Home Button not working after upgrade to ios 5.1.1

Hey everyone,
I'm pretty sure this is a software failure due to the symtoms the iPhone is showing;
0 - the home button does not work at all when the phone is turned on and running ios 5.1.1, well it used to work okay when i had ios 5.0.1, I upgraded to 5.1.0 and started working randomly, upgraded to 5.1.1 to see if it was fixed with no luck at all.
1 - When locked the screen does sometime light up, like when you press the home button and don't slide the unlock button. but it does not exit apps anytime, I mean it doesn't act like it's pressing the home button randomly but only when the phone is locked.
2- The button does work perfectly when iOS is not running: I can get in and get out of recovery and dfu mode at will, that wouldn't be possible if the button were broke.
3- what else? Oh yea, not really a symtom: Tried the 'home button calibration' several times.
4 - It's not filthy, since I really cleaned it thoroughly with a powerful tiny nozed air blower I got and gave a rubbing alcohol treatment too.
5 - when I shut the phone down it instantly turns back on, I can interrupt the turning on for turning the phone into dfu mode (i'm sure It's in DFU mode because the tinyumbrella log monitor tells me)
I'm now using the 'soft' home button that goes in the accesibility options, but hey, I didn't pay a ton of money for a phone that the same Apple is gonna break down.
It's out of warranty and I don't have apple stores where I live.
I'd downgrade to 5.0.1 in a snap if I could but I'm not into jailbreaking, so the shsh blob thingie is not a possibility.
Any apple dev around that can give me a workaround?

I had the same problem with Home button not responding after upgrading from iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.1.1 on an iPhone4.   I solved it but not sure exactly what fixed it.   Here is what I did.
1. Took it local Apple store Genius appointment.   They used a special tool and took some lint out of the connector opening.   The Home button started working.   They said even though the phone was out of warranty, I could buy a new replacement one without a contract for $150.
2.   The Home button stopped working when I got home.   I got some compressed air in a can and blew the air through the connector to try and clean out more dust.   I now keep the phone with the connector opening facing down in my pocket.   I also struck the phone downward on my hand or other soft surface to force as much dust out as possible.
3. The Home button still was intermittent. I then tried to do a hard reset by holding the power on key and the Home button simultaneously for about 10 seconds. This doesn't work if the Home button doesn't respond.
4. I connected the iphone to Itunes via the USB to sync the phone. While connected, I did a Hard Reset by Holding the Power button and Home button simultaneously. I noticed the Home button responded better when connected to ITUNES via the USB.
5. I did a backup of the iphone4 by highlighting the iphone 4 while connected to ITunes and right mouse click and selecting BACKUP.    I was prepared to reset my phone4 in iTUNES and restore it from the backup.
The phone worked consistently before I had to do this.
6. As a last resort which I didn't need to do, I was going to copy all my settings for the iphone by selecting the phone in iTUNES and looking at all the sync settings.   I would then have restored the iphone to original factory settings and then sync the phone using the copied settings. This would have made sure that the backup didn't include the bug.
Fortunately, I didn't have to do step 5 and 6.   Things started working after Step 4. So I don't really know if it was the iOS 5.1.1 upgrade or pure coincidence that the Home button stopped working immediately after the upgrade.

IPhone 5S Blue Screen Boot Loop iOS 8

Hi all
I've had my 32GB iPhone 5S for 5 months now. I installed iOS 8 when it came out, and have had no issues up until today.
Today while using my device, all of a sudden the screen went blue, turned off, and re-booted with the Apple logo. Was weird, but it was working again after.
About 20 minutes later, all **** broke loose. Now the phone is continuously looping from the Apple logo to the blue screen. I've tried plugging the phone into my MacBook but iTunes won't recognise it unless it's in DFU mode, in which I have tried restoring the phone through that and iTunes, only resulting in wasting about 10 minutes of the software loading onto the iPhone, then the blue-screen occurring and "Error 9" appearing on iTunes.
The other issue is as of last Sunday, I now live in Singapore. I normally would take my phone down to my local Apple store in Melbourne to get it replaced.
The phone has never been opened, repaired, etc. I had my original 5S replaced about 2-3 weeks ago by Apple Chadstone due to the screen clicking issue.
Any ideas/tips/advice? This is doing my head in.

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the scope of the issues you are describing. If you are having multiple issues after updating to iOS 8, and the issues returned a couple days after a restore of the OS and your apps/data, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persist before restoring your data.
