IOS 5.1 no iCloud push to "music"
I upgraded my iPad, 1st gen, with iOS 5.1 and the latest version of iTunes. I laso updated my itumes on my iMac to 10.6 which is was to addresses an issue where songs may skip when playing from iCloud. Now on my iPad, when I open my "Music" there is NO access to iCloud. At the bottom of the app there was a button named "More" that would let me choose my iTunes library, it is no longer there. Nothing else has changed on any Apple product I have other than these updates that were to fix problems that are now worse. Any thoughts??? Lost and cunfused!
Reset iPad and the problem cleared up for now.

I have an old icloud account with music and pics on a computer and a new account on my iphone and ipad how do I transfer my pics and music to my iphone account or cync them i dont want to have to repurchase all my music to play on my iphone
Downloading previously purchsed music from iCloud is based on your iTunes ID, not your iCloud ID. (It uses "iTunes in the Cloud", which has nothing to do with your iCloud account, just your iTunes ID.)
If you are using a different iTunes ID on your iOS devices than the one you used to purchase the music, you'll have to sync the music to your devices using iTunes. If they are using the same iTunes ID, you can download the music to your devices as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519. -
I updated my iOS to 7 yesterday. But my music app doesn't show the 'Radio' button as the online videos and Apple website claims. What could be the reason and how to fix it. All other apps, swipe up/down seem to be working fine.

For music, you can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option which is revealed in the iTunes app on your iOS device by tapping the more button at the bottom of the screen. -
ICloud "Push" sync with devices
Hello everyone, I have a question. For some reason when I download a tv show like "the league" onto my Mac Air, for some reason the iCloud doesn't push it onto my new iPhone 4S for some reason. Is there anyway I can figure that out to get it to push the music, tv shows, etc onto my devices via the iCloud "Push" sync. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice you can give me thanks!
EriciCloud does not support TV Shows at this time.
It does support Mail / Contacts / Calendars / Reminders / Bookmarks / Notes / Photo Stream and Documents & Data.

I have got an iPod Touch on IOS 5.1.1, which contained my music library, including uploaded CDs and purchases. I have a new laptop (using Windows 7) and upIoaded my music library from the iPod, using Tunejack, onto the laptop. I then made a few purchases but these weren't showing up on my iPod, so in frustration, thinking this would rectify the problem, I then re-booted the iPod, with the result that my entire music library disappeared from it. I then went to sync with my lap top and went in under the 'Music' tab and clicked on download 'entire music library' but nothing happens. I have also tried 'selected playlists, artists, albums and genres' but this has not worked as well. The same issue dows not apply with eitehr my iPad 2 or my iPhone 4S. As mentioned, this music library did come from my iPod so there is no space issue. If anyone has any suggestions i would be grateful.
Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

IOS 7, iTunes Match, and downloads to Music -- beware of your first use
I'll explain the situation in a moment. My question for the community is if someone saw a way to avoid this from happening.
I just encountered a perfect storm when I upgraded to ios 7. So far it has cost me $230 in excess data charges.
I am an iTunes Match subscriber.
Before the upgrade to ios 7, ios 6 had an option in Settings -> Music to tell it not to use cellular data. I had cellular data for Music disabled, so many times I'd download a playlist from Match down to my phone and would start this process at home on wifi, leave, and then it would complete later that day when I hit another wifi network.
When I upgraded to ios7, there were some changes in how to control access to cellular data:
(1) Apple removed that control from the Settings -> Music UI
(2) Apple added a menu option called Settings -> iTunes and App Store. In that UI< you have the option of turning iTunes Match on or off, and at the bottom you also have the option enabling cellular data. Just below that, it says "Use cellular data network for automatic downloads and iTunes Match." One of the first things I did after the upgrade, while still on wifi, was turn cellular data off in this UI.
(3) Apple added a UI called Settings -> Cellular, and in there is a UI called "Use Cellular Data For:", and it gives you a list of apps where you can turn cellular on/off for each one individually. Right after the upgrade to ios 7, that list was very short. It didn't have Music or iTunes Match listed, only Mail, Passbook, and a few basic apps.
So after my upgrade, the only place that appeared to control downloads from iTunes Match was the menu in #2, which I had already used to disable cellular data for.
Since I had deleted all my music to make room for the upgrade, I picked a playlist that morning and told my phone to download it. It was about 1GB of music. Then I got on my bike and rode to work woth my phone buried in my bike bag. When I arrived at work, I had a series of text messages from my carrier that I had exceeded my data plan and was now getting charged .25/MB. I was at the very end of a billing month and at the start of my ride only had about 100MB left on my data plan.
So what happened?
Well, as it turns out, the menu for Use Cellular Data For: in #3 above only lists apps once they've used cellular data (except maybe the obvious ones like Mail, Passbook, etc.). And for some bizarre reason, that download wasn't considered "iTunes Match" by ios 7, it was considered a download by the Music app in ios 7. So once I got to work and dug into this, I then found that Music was now listed in the Use Cellular Data For: dialog. So what happened was that I left the house, left wifi, and the phone kept downloading that big playlist on cellular and somewhere, probably right as I was screaming down the hill from my house, the Music app showed up on Use Cellular Data For:. I did some tests with other apps and they only appear on that list AFTER you've used cellular data for them.
Learning this with any other app, or at the beginning of a billing month, would not have been an issue, but my perfect storm of being almost tapped out on my data plan when I left my home wifi network killed me.
I have already contacted my carrier about this, although it's not their fault. I personally think it's Apple's fault for (a) creating a misleading UI for #2 above, and (b) for not listing "Music" in the list of apps in the Use Cellular Data For: dialog immediately after the upgrade.
Anyone else had this problem? If not, and you are an iTunes Match user who has just upgrade to ios 7, you can easily avoid this by downloading one song from cellular to get the Music app to appear in the Use Cellular Data For: listI am also having problems with smart playlists on OS7 iphone 4s with mountain Lion on my mac
I have two smart playlists, one for music not played in 6 months, the other for zero plays, the other criteria for the lists are media type 'music' and track time ' less than 15 minutes.
These two playlists have 619 items and 108 items respectively in my mac but on the phone it shows 2962 items (for both lists) and a cloud symbol next to the track - although scrolling down, there are some tracks that do not have the cloud symbol - these look like the original 619 and 108 in the lists
Other smart playlists are fine and appear to be not affected -
My iphone 4s ios 7/0/4 will not update music or apps from itunes 11.1.3. this was true with my pc since ios 7.0.3 even with update 7.0.4 and now continues with my new MacPro also runing itunes 11.1.3. as most state in previous threads, syncs all non itunes related data with no issue and appears to work correctly on itunes data but then hangs on the last step of updating until it times out. i have tried marking specific music to transfer, setting up new playlist, deleting some old playlist on phone but stopped short of restoring my phone back to new due to the amount of non itunes data that i will lose. The itunes setup on the macpro was completely with the download of all music from a previous external backup and the creation of new playlist - on the first sync with existing phone it did ask to overwrite all phone itunes data with macpro itunes data which i did accept - no different result - no changes on phone.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the problem continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement. -
I had to change my Apple ID and password in itunes. Now my icloud doesn't work and I can't update my apps on my iPhone. I have looked at suggestions on the community pages and apple suggestions but none of them are relevant to iOS 8.1.2
icloud just keeps bringing up my old email address & asking for my old password which doesn't exist anymore and when I try to sign out of icloud it wants my old password, when I tried to change my primary email back to the old one it wants me to verify it through an email address that doesn't exist. Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

I have a G5 which I intend to keep.
Now that I have updated my iphone 4s to iOS 7.0.
I cannot add music to my iphone or upload photos to iphoto.
I have the last itunes 10.6.3. which was supported by apple.
itunes will not interact with my iphone on any level.
Apple made all the equipment I use.
Bentley and Ferrari etc do not stop making parts for their cars?

Regarding iOS 7.0 you have totally lost the plot.
We buy apple why?
Quality.
Intuitive interface.
Stable software.
Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. I gave my old MacBook Pro away and no longer have access to it. I didn't think to deauthorize it first. I DO NOT want it to have access to all music in my iCloud or any music that may have been downloaded sinceI gave away the computer. It now belongs to my teenage daughter,who has since been in my WI-FI area and knows that code. I had EVERYTHING removed from the computer before I gave it to her (long story), but since I hadn't deauthorized the Mac,I'm assuming even without the itunes password the iCloud material would had loaded onto her computer.My iCloud had somehow included personal voice mails under Unknown Artist that I did not want on there or shared. How can I deauthorize the Mac Laptop without having the machine available to do it on? Change the iTunes/iCloud password? I should now have my desktop computer, new PC (Aspire) laptop,Ipod Touch, and if possible my Evo 3D as well as my boyfriend's Samsung smartphone being able to access the iCloud account/library--whatever it is called. Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

I have an iphone 4 that I recently upgraded to IOS 7, and now I cant drag music to it. It says "preparing to update" eternally. Weird thing is... I have an iphone 3s that is IOS 6, and it takes new music all day. arg.
I have tried direct connecting the iphone 4, via wifi, everything. I hate itunes with a passion, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I dont know why I would have no trouble with my iphone 3. I am using the same technique for both phones. Find the music I want in the library and drag it to the iphone. Works on IOS 6, not IOS 7.
