IOS 5.1 removes all the music from iPhone

Updated my iPhone to iOS 5.1 and all the music got removed. No I need to spend hours to get it back. I'm not buying the music from iTunes because iTunes store is not available in my country. Even if it was avaiable still some of the music cannot be found there. Did anyone else encoutered this as well? what is the solution? What to do to prevent this situation to happen in the future with iOS 5.2 or iOS 6.0?
PS
I've updated OTA

Never lost my music in all the years updating my phones. Did you sync your phone with a different computer that doesn't have your original itunes library? Thiings do get erased that way.

  • How can I remove all the music from my iPhone?

I want to remove all the music from my iPhone 5 (Current iOS) and then load a completely new set of songs from my Mac (Current OS).
How do I do that ?
Even when I define a specific new playlist and tell it to apply only that it still does not remove the unwanted songs.
    Thanks !

I feel I've explained plenty what you must do but you aren't getting it.
All music on your old iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Transfer the music from your iTunes library on your computer to your new iPhone in the same way it was transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone - via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
Since you prefer the manual way, you must manually drag and drop the same 377 songs from your iTunes library to your new iPhone - in the same way the 377 songs were manually transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone.
Or you can sync which provides more options overall. Create an iTunes playlist for the 377 songs. Select Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and choose selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Select the iTunes playlist below that includes the 377 songs followed by a sync.

  • Coping all the music from iphone to pc

    hi,
I had to format my pc, so now I want to transfer all the music from my iphone 4 to the pc, how can I do it. im affriad that if I do it wrong the music from the iphone will be deleted without being copied to the pc.
    thanks a lot.

Juan, first, it's important to perform a "backup" on your device in iTunes on your computer. Then if you have a major problem later, you can recover all your data.
With that said, I also have been looking for a good way to transfer files between my PC and iPhone. File transfer apps are numerous, but the ones I've tried are erratic. iTunes totally smells of rotted fish as far as a reliable transfer mechanism. People (like me) have lost MUCH data using the quirky iTunes Synch and checkmark options that are too vague. So far, after all this time, I still don't transfer files between my PC and phone due to the weird way Apple deals with the file system in the iOS.
    Good luck!

  • How do i sync the iTunes from my iPhone 6 to my new MacBook without removing all the music from my phone?

I have just purchased a new MacBook and am having trouble syncing the existing iTunes on my iPhone 6 to it. The only option it gives me is to wipe the music on my phone and replace it with the existing playlists on my iTunes (on the MacBook). For some reason all the purchases I have made on my iPhone are not always transferred on to this computer.. help please!

    Hey baby birch
You are able to sync purchased content from your iDevice to a new computer as long as the comptuer is authorized
To authorize the computer follow these steps
At the topi of the screen next to File- Edit -View, click store then Authorize this computer.
Enter in your appleID email address and password and click authorize
**If you do not see the File Edit View option, At the very top left corner you should see a little square click the square and click show menu bar.
Now that your computer is authorized click the file menu button, then click Devices, then go to your iPhones name and then click Transfer purchases this will allow you to transfer all of your purchased content to the computer
Now if you want to transfer your non purchased content to the computer you can do so if you have wif and the previous computer on the same network as the new computer with home sharing

    Hello cgbuehling
You can, but only the purchases that were made from the iTunes Store. Other content that was imported from a CD or other sources will not transfer over.

  • How can I delete all the music from my iPhone and reinstall it?

I am trying to delete all the music from my iPhone 5 and reinstall it.  The names of some of the albums and the artists did not import correctly from my CDs.  I went back into iTunes and made corrections, synced my phone and no changes were made to the music on my phone.  And two of the albums (I only have albums, not individual songs) are duplicated on the phone, though they are not in my iTunes library.
I have gone into iTunes, selected the device at the top right corner, selected all the music that showed up in the window - gone to the Edit menu, selected "all" and then "delete."  The list of tracks disappears from the device list.  I then synced the phone again, and the albums are still on the phone.  What am I missing, please?  I've even shut the phone down and restarted it, synced it again, but nothing changes.
    Help, please?

Follow the instructions here or here; the first set of instructions may require a power source other than a computer's USB port, so you should have one of these before proceeding. Your iPod is a fourth generation model.

i just got my second ipad, i want to put all the music from my 1st one straight to my second, how do i do that?

Set you 2nd iPad from your 1st iPad. If you have your music in your iTunes library, it's easier as you can set it up as a new device and then go to music>sync all music.
Once you set up you 2nd iPad from your 1st one, if you want do not want the other setting to be synced, turn it off. For example, in apps, uncheck everything and you can get rid of them.

You are running 10.6.8? If yes, I assume you have your install disks? As the trash bin is part of Mail app and that is an integral part of the OS, the only way I know to get it back is to reinstall the OS. You won't lose any files, just reinstall the OS over the top of the current system.
