IOS 5 "banner" Notification

hi,
I updated my Iphone 4 to iOS 5,and I have a Problem.
In the "Notifications" It gives you the options (None, Banner, Alert),I changed in to "Banner".
but when someone calls it's not work... in "messages" it's work perfectly.
it's known problem?
I will thank if someone help me...

Put a lock code on your phone. Turn off Visible in Lock screen for Mail.
It also sounds as if you have some serious trust issues in the relationship which doesn't bode well for the future but that's outside the scope of this forum.

  • Fix for iMessage banner notifications in iOS 8.1 freezing the keyboard or touch responsiveness?

Is there a fix for iMessage banner notifications in iOS 8.1 freezing the keyboard, and making the phone non-responsive while receiving messages?
    I have a Verizon iPhone 6 - 128gb Space Gray
While I'm receiving banner notifications for iMessage, my phone will lock up until the notification banner clears. If I'm in the middle of typing, the keyboard will lock up and then resume back to normal once the banner goes away. No matter what task I'm doing with the iPhone, it will freeze up until the notification goes away. The touch screen becomes unresponsive. To be clear, the banner notifications are not freezing themselves. They go away on their own. But while they come in, it renders the phone useless for that 3 second time frame.
The only temporary fix I've found for this issue is to turn off iMessage notifications all together, or just turn off banner notifications for iMessage. This has to be a software issue in 8.1 and needs to be resolved ASAP.
    I've troubleshooted every known possibility.
    * Reset network setting = Didn't work.
    * Reset all settings = Didn't work.
    * Wipe Phone completely and start as new (did not restore from back up) = Didn't work.
    * Restore as new from iTunes (did not restore from back up) = Didn't work.
    * Visited apple store and received a replacement = Didn't work.

Jeez, the keyboard lags behind so much and the keys seem offset

  • IOS banner notifications always in the way

I used to have everything working perfectly:
    No lock screen notifications
Notification center showed everything I wanted
Never recieved banner notifications upon unlocking my phone.
Then something happened, and I can't change it back.
Now, whenever I unlock my phone, I see EVERY banner notification that was queued while the phone was locked.
If I turn off banner notifications, even when I have the notification center active, I will not see the notifications I'm expecting.
I don't want items in my lock screen, so that's always disabled.
Does anyone know what's going on? Or does anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks,
    Mike

What model device do you have, and what versionof iOs running on it?

  • Banner notifications needs to be more useful

Is there a way (and I'm guessing not) for the current iteration of iOS 5 to helpfully provide some sort of visual indicator that a banner notification was received by the iPhone while it was powered up and running?
Notifications received banner style when the iPhone happens to be in locked mode are listed chronologically and grouped by app on the screen, and that's somewhat handy.  A great deal of the time, however, my iPhone is powered up and running -- and I am not always nearby it.  (There do exist perfectly safe places in the world for plenty of people to do this, so don't fret.)  In this case, when a banner style notification arrives, the banner displays at the top just for a few seconds, then disappears forever.  This frustratingly defeats the convenience of such notifications because if I was away from the iPhone when the notification was received, I'll be completely unaware that a notice arrived until I happen to decide to down-swipe to check my notifications.
Here is what would make notifications much more useful:  the iOS displays an icon (perhaps an "!") to the top bar near the battery/Bluetooth/compass locator icons to denote that the notifications screen has received one or more texts/calls/etc. notification(s) since the last time the user checked.  If space in the top bar is so premium that a thin "!" would be too much, the iOS could simply colorize part or all of the bar.  Said icon (or color) would remain until the user views the notifications screen.

    Best of luck.

  • IMessage missing after banner notification - iPhone5

This seems to be a bug in iOS 6 and 6.0.1 on iPhone5
When a new message arrives, the banner notification shows up with a preview, but when I open up the message app, the new message is not displayed.
To work this around, I will have to kill the message app in background and reopen it to read that message.
This does not occur every time, but it's annoying.
Does anyone experience this weird behavior as well? Any idea on how to fix it? I have restored 6.0.1 via iTunes and set up as new phone, but the bug presists.

Please disregard. I now see that imessage is still called Messages on the screen, and you swipe down for notifications center.
    Best regards,
    J

  • IPhone 4S iOS 8.3 Notification Center Problem

I have an iPhone 4S with iOS 8.3. I've recently noticed that notifications from apps that I've swiped to access from the Lock Screen continue to appear in the Notifications portion of the Notification Center. For example, if I receive a notification from Gmail's app notifying me of an unread email and I swipe the notification to access Gmail from the Lock Screen, the notification pertaining to the unread email remains visible in the Notification Center despite having already read the email; however, using the Slide To Unlock feature from the Lock Screen and then accessing Gmail from the Home Screen circumvents this problem. I've concluded that it's probably not a problem with Gmail's app as this same scenario has happened with iPhone's Tips app and, as I recall, Facebook's app as well. I also recall recently accessing Gmail via a Banner notification and the notification remained visible in the Notification Center afterwards, so my problem may or may not be isolated to Lock Screen app access. As I would rather not have to clear notifications from the Notification Center after already addressing them from the Lock Screen, has anyone here experienced this problem and, if so, solved it? Please let me know if there is a more appropriate community for me to ask this question. Thanks in advance for your help!

OP here.  It appears that my problem is in fact isolated to the Gmail app as I've recently noticed that if I leave messages as unread in my inbox, then Gmail notifications accrue in the Notification Center; however, if I keep the unread count at zero, these notifications do not accrue.  This observation solves my problem as I can control the unread count in my inbox; however, please feel free to suggest a more permanent solution if one exists.  Thanks!

  • Persistent Banner notifications will not disappear

    Hi there,
I have a weird bug that Banner notifications will not disappear and remain persistent unless I go back to the home screen. It happens in any app that I am in. I tried restoring the phone without back up and it still happens. Sometimes if I hard reset it goes away for a while but then it comes back.
Anyone else having this issue? I noticed it since iOS 6.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
Does the number equal the number of IMs in the Chat window since you last looked at it ?
DO you use the "Collect chats into one window" (Tabbed Chat) option ?
I am trying to see if you have a hidden Chat window somewhere.

  • Problems with banner notifications

Prior to the ios 6 update when my iPhone or iPad was locked and i received an email when I went to unlock the phone the banner notification would display for the email. Since upgrading the only time a banner displays is if my iPhone or iPad is unlocked and in use. Is this a change in ios or am I missing something in settings? Any help would be appreciated

I've tried various fixes like restoring from a previous backup but seems there is a bug in IOS7. Also, cannot sign in to Facetime, keep getting error whilst logging in "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again". Words with friends is now un-usable and that's just a few apps, i dread to think how many more are screwed. Do I simply wait for Apple to release a new update?

  • My Iphone 5 will not notify me when I have a text message. There is not banner notification, not sound, or vibration. I have to click on the message icon to even see if I have a text message.

My Iphone 5 will not notify me when I have a text message. There is not banner notification, not sound, or vibration. I have to click on the message icon to even see if I have a text message.

Settings app > Notification Center > Messages (you will need to check both the INCLUDE and DO NOT INCLUDE sections). Set the alerts you wish to see.

  • HT4623 No ios software update notifications

I use to receive ios software update notification badges with ios 6.  I no longer receive them with ios 7.  I never know software updates are available until someone tells me.  Is there a way to enable ios update notifications?  I have an iPhone 5 with Verizon.

If you do not connect the device to power and wifi at the same time, then you might not. But if you had power and wifi at the same time, it should have recognized the notification. But if you go open Settings, it should prompt it. There is no setting in Notification Center to set for Software update.

  • IOS 8.3 Banner Notifications

I am having trouble finding a  setting to govern the massive preview for mail notifications that started in 8.3 for me. Any suggestions?

I noticed this for the first time today as well - toggling "Show preview" on and off from within Notification Center's mail accounts' settings has no effect on this.  By default, I do not show previews for regular mail messages either.
It is either an undocumented enhancement to Notification Center..... or a bug.

  • IOS 8 push notifications don't work

    Hi everyone,
I'm using an iPhone 5s and updated to iOS 8 last Sunday. Since I installed it, I experience a total loss of push notifications from third party apps (e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, GMX Mail, wetter.com, Tagesschau and so on). I'm using the phone on Vodafone's German network.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem without a complete reset. I've found some possible solutions by they only apply to iOS 7.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Simon

More than likely a problem with the FB app not fully compatible with the new update.   I would let the app developer know of your problem and see if they can resolve it.

  • IOS 7 Missed Notifications won't clear in the Missed section of Notification Center

I've litterally tried everything! Anytime I get a missed call it shows up under the missed section of notification center. I then tap it and call the person back but afterwards it still stays in the Missed section of Notification Center, it does not clear after I acknowledged it. This is clearly a bug, but it doesnt happen on other people's iphone (JUST MINE!) I've tried every possibility...I had my phone swapped out, Restored my phone as a NEW iphone and I even created a brand new iCloud email address for my contacts...the only thing i can possibly think is that it has something to do with my apple id or something. because the only time i don't have the issue is when i restore my phone my phone as a NEW iphone and i DONT log onto my apple id then the issue wont occur, but i need my apple id logged in for all my purchases and what not. So im thinking it has something to do with my @icloud.com address. I looked online and saw some other people were having a similar issue, and yes when i restart my phone the missed calls clear, but i should not have to do this every single time i want to get rid of a notificaion. If anyone at Apple is reading this.....PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. Does anybody out there have a fix?
P.S. I am using a brand new iphone 5s running the newest version of iOS (7.0.2)

I have the same issue. It is a bug that apple needs to address. I have realised what causes the problem is that. When you open the Phone app and view the missed calls. This removes the missed calls from the Notification Center "All" tab, but the Missed Call stays in the "Missed" tab. Few quick fixes I have tried is. Clearing the missed calls from Notification Center "All" tab before accesing the Phone app. Then going to the Phone app to call the people back. Also you can clear the Missed Calls from "Misses" tab by going to Settings>Notification Center>Phone then turn OFF then turn ON  "Show in Notification Center" Hope this helps.

  • I think there is a flaw in ios 5. Notification centre doesn't show missed call, during another call is in progress, after accessing recent calls in phone app, once.

Notification centre in ios 5 is not showing the missed calls when another call is in progress. It shows perfectly before accessing the phone app. But once you access the recent calls in phone app, then afterwards it stops showing the missed calls during another call is in progress.

Forgot to add, this happens, when you receive a call, during the phone is locked, and you receive a call, while the previous call is in progress.
