IOS 5 crash repair
When are apple going to fix the iPad 1 & 2 iOS 5 operating system. Both our iPads at home constantly crash whilst using safari, leading to the question why bother with apple......in my view a bad customer experience, at least blackberry are quicker to respond to their community when there's a problem. I've reverted to using the Playbook for now as its a stable platform and giving me the results I'm looking for! Looks like iOS 5 has died as well!!! Get it sorted big glamorous company, stop hiding behind the brand!
These are user-to-user forums, they are not monitored by Apple - there are too many forums/threads/messages for that to happen. If you want to leave feedback for Apple then you can do so here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
In terms of the crashes, have you tried clearing Safari's cache and history, closing yep all your apps via the taskbar, and doing a soft reset (by pressing and holding the homs and sleep buttons until the Apple logo appears) to see if that makes any difference ?

IMovie on iOS 8 crashes whenever I try to export the video project to iTunes
I need to transfer several iMovie projects from iPad to iMac to free lots of disk space.
But whenever I atempt to export an iMovie project to iTunes, the iMovie iOS app crashes.
Is there any other way how to transfer the project file?I'm sorry, but it still doesn't work. I deleted all Apple software off my computer and redownleaded the latest version of iTunes, but when I tried to sign in I still got this error:

Is it the new iPad Mini Retina or IOS 7 CRASHES CONSTANTLY
Is it the new iPad Mini Retina or IOS 7 CRASHES CONSTANTLY
I hate to, but I feel I am a guinea pig at 700.00 a crack 128gb mini.
I have 4 of them and THEY ALL DO IT. I have restored, setup as new ipad but nothing works.
also, the colors on the new ipad mini seem dull and off. I have a plum colored car and it looks brown on the mini.
Giving up...i bought an iPad Mini Retina earlier this week
came back home, updated to iOS 7.0.4 and it crashed many times, while browsing settings but also some apps
i had it exchanged because of a yellow tint on the screen
got a new one, under 7.0.3, also crashed several times, updated to 7.0.4, still crashing
wondering if the new 64-bit processor has something to do with the code used for iOS -
Is anybody else having their Adobe AIR iOS app crash within the first second of opening it?
Is anybody else having their Adobe AIR iOS app crash within the first second of opening it?
I am using iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3, with a development certificate.
With Adobe AIR SDK 16.0.0.283 and now with 17.0.0.93, after compiling the app (whether in release mode or debug mode), before the app getTimer() can ever reach 999 milliseconds the app will crash. No matter what code I have, it is just crashing before the runtime can ever reach the first second.
Anybody else having this kind of behavior?Chris,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have found the way to reproduce. It is about interfaces, and when I try to call a method through an interface the app crashes. I think that it is related to having an interface with many parameters. I have logged the bug here:

Latest Revel IOS update crashes and won't install
I have been using Revel v 2.3.1-548 on iPhone 5 and iPad 3 without any issues. An update was released today (29 June) and this won't install and crashes the app on both devices so I have had to go back to the old version. Anyone else having this problem?
SteveDoes not work in Norway!

IOS 6 Crashes after moving Icons
Anyone else noticed that after dragging an app icon around various pages that IOS 6 crashes and reboots ?
The problem is software related and has to do partially with a kernal panic and way the cpu access the data. Some users have found the using reset all settings works and some users are finding that only restoring their phone works to stop the phone from going into a springboard reboot loop. It is definetly something that Apple is well aware of and is trading out handsets that have these problems, even though it is not a hardware issue or defect that cannot be solved.
Research I have done into this problem has shown that the problem is partially related to how much data the cpu is going through and how hot the device has become. If you are having any springboard boot related issues take your phone out of its case and allow for the phone to cool down to normal temperture (powering down is highly recommended, but some people cannot live without their phone being on) before you start to mess around with your phone again. The way that iOS 6 uses the Springboard is different than iOS 4 and partially different than 5 that system messages and notifications were taken out of Springboard control and are part of their own processes. The gpu and cpu both have to render the moving of apps and incoming email, messages and any other notifications. Allowing for your iPhone/iPad to cool down will do wonders for all of the Springboard related issues. -
after partition crash repair by iShop, my apple doesn't recognize my ID, only have read permits when open files, looks like I am working on somebody else's computer
My girlfriend had this same issue. It ended up being her cable.
It was very weird and confussing as the first cable would allow the phone to show up on my laptop but not my girlfriends. So we thought the cable was fine.
Further the first cable would allow the iPhone to sync with itunes on her laptop but not show up in her "My Computer."
By chance we tried a different cable and it worked fine on her laptop and instantly showed up in her "My Computer."
All very weird but try a couple different cables and see if that fixes the problem first before resorting to other time consuming steps. -
After updating to iOS 6 crashes has increased significantly
Many apps need to be updated to run well on iOS 6. I get a notice about an available update almost any day.
But I've not really noticed too many crashed since updating to iOS 6 so I suspect that you are experiencing some unusual behavior.
First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the devise restart. See if that fixes your problem. -

I have a message on my Ipad that states my IOS has crashed due to a 3rd party. It refers to my tablet as a phone (sorry, don't have an Iphone. It gives a number to call for support but I know it's a scam. Is there a solution to get rid of it as it has locked up my Safari.
1. Reset the iPad
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on your iPad,
simultaneously press and hold down the “Home” button” until the screen turns off.
Turn it back on.
2. Clear information from your device
iOS 7
Tap Settings > Safari > Clear History > Clear Cookies and Data. -
For those that may be having trouble using large svg files, e.g. iOS browser crashes, it appears that despite the fact that this was believed to have been fixed in the 2014.1 update, Edge Animate may still be importing the files at 10x their original dimensions and then scaling them to 10% so that they appear normal. A 500px wide image for example would be imported at 5000px which is too large for iOS devices to cope with - it may load OK, but changing the orientation or pinch-zooming could cause the browser, or even the whole OS, to reboot.
There is a simple solution fortunately: change the scale to 100% and change the dimensions to the correct pixel size. The crash isn't dependent on internet connection. It happens on either wifi & cellular. The internet connection is fine. The address bar squishes up into the area where the time/batt info is and the browser coughs up a fur ball - everything in the browser freezes, but does not effect other operations of the phone. So it is browser specific. The issue has occured when I access a web page that is bookmarked, and if I access a link through email. I haven't added any new aps or altered the phone in any way. Over the course of a year owning the phone, the only variable since the browser freeze has been updating the phone to the latest iOS.

IOS Numbers crashes very time I try to use "Help" for a function
On both my iPad and iPhone (both at latest iOs level) every time I touch the "i" to get information about a function on Numbers the app crashes.
Anyone one else experiencing this or know a fix?
II've tried closing the app, restarting powering off and restarting the devices with no result.Generally, you are more likely to get an answer if you post in the iWork for iOS forum at
https://discussions.apple.com/community/app_store/iwork_for_ios
Cheers, Tom
BTW - Your profile shows you are using iOS 6. That's not the latest iOS version. -
How to resolve pages in iOS 7 crashing on startup?
I upgraded to ios 7 and regret it as now Pages crashes when accessing icloud. Numbers and Keynote seem to work though haven't put them through their paces yet. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Turn off iCloud for Pages on your mobile device at Settings > Pages > Use iCloud > Off.
Open Pages on your computer and move any documents in iCloud to your desktop for safe keeping.
Navigate to system preferences > iCloud > Manage and check that Pages documents are not taking any space in the cloud, delete them if they are.
Enable iCloud syncing for Pages on your mobile device and launch the App.
If Pages now opens properly, start to add back documents from your desktop one at a time (or in small groups if you have many). -
I updated to iphone iOS 6 on my Iphone 4s, it worked fine for the hour i used it. When i woke up a few hours later every single app started crashing, from safari to maps, after a few seconds the app crashes and i would have to go back in.
The crashing gets quicker and quicker untill i turn the phone off and back on. Then the crashing takes like 30 seconds and quickly speeds up. I can't even message, this is a complete disaster.
My battery lost 25 % in 5 mins now as well... WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Please I need a fix.I updated about a week ago as well, and the phone worked perfectly for the first few days. Then I began to have the same issues as you have experienced. My phone was warm to the touch, my battery would run down in a matter of hours, and all of my apps would crash a few moments after opening them. I also tried the hard reboot and restoring the phone via iTunes, which did not work. Mysteriously the issue stopped for a couple of days and then came back yesterday. It is apparent from the various message boards that it is NOT a hardware issue, as my 4S is only 6 months old and worked perfectly before the upgrade. It is also apparent the folks at Apple have no idea what the cause and cure is, as many commenters have tried multiple suggested solutions to no avail. This morning I took the advice of one commenter and closed out all of my apps, and it worked. All day my phone has been cool to the touch and the battery is still near 100%, and the two apps I briefly opened (Facebook and mail) worked fine once the phone cooled down (maybe the temp is related to the crashing). This seems to indicate the issue is with one or more of the apps, and I can't be sure which. While I still find this unacceptable long term, I will continue to close every app after using it. Give this a try and see if it works for you as well, at least until we get a real fix for the issue.

AIR iOS hard crashes: wakeup - Observed 503/sec over 300 secs
Hi,
for a project I had to download a file with around 3GB.
So I decided to write a chunk based download controller, which easily does the following:
- open an URLStream
- Load the file by URLRequest
- Wait for the progress events and check, that we have more than 5MB in the buffer
- Write the bytes to an local file by using an Bytearray+Filestream combination
Additional I have implemented a workaround for the file size limit regarding to the Android specs,
that the local files is chunked when, the file exceeds the file size limit.
This solution works fine in this cases / test systems:
- Desktop - Windows
- Desktop - Mac
- Android - Debug
- Android - Release
- iOS 8.1.3 - Debug - fast interpreter mode
But when I try to compile and run / debug the app for iOS with the following modes:
- Release build Store
- Release build AdHoc
- Debug build without fast interpreter
The app crashes hard during the download.
I isolated my download controller and created a simple test app, which is using a simple sprite
and runs the download controller.
During the download the app is not completely hard crashing but the xcode console detects 1-2 crashes:

The debugger did not detect any error.
I tested AIR 15, 16.
Maybe this is a iOS restriction regarding to the new battery consumption limitations for apps.
So I tried to:
- Set the framerate to max. 30FPS
- Extend to buffer size before write to test on ProgressEvent form 512KB to 5MB
But the crashes are staying and the observed wakeups are not reducing.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this? Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if it's iOS 8 only, and I'm having a hard time reproducing the crash at my office after letting it run for 24 hours. I only see the crash results on the iPad after the fact.
I can send the code for the project to someone, if that will help. Who would I send it to?
In the meantime, do you have any recommendations for how to force an excess number of wakeups? I figure if I can force the crash, then I can see if it helps to try the latest AIR SDK or make other changes.
Also, here is a little more info about the project:
- Uses Starling.
- Uses video playing in a webview (with darkredz ANE).
- Uses Apple's Guided Access to lock out app switching.
Do any of these things seem more likely to cause issues with thread management? I'm guessing that the app never goes into background mode, since it's locked to this one app. But would the iPad going to sleep force it into background mode somehow?
Thanks for the help.
