IOS 5 error in facetime/imessage
Hello,
I just purchase my ipad 2 with wifi only running on version 5.0(9A334).
I have tried sign in using Apple ID. However, it shows" Imessage activation" Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again. I am able browse internet using safari and wireless is on.
Same as facetime. Can anyone advise..
Thank you
So I had same issue and did 2 hours with Apple support and then in Apple Store and finally with Apple Service. They replaced my 7 day old ipad with a new one. And guess what, same thing. So before throwing it out of the window in disgust I did one more thing, I created a new Apple ID with another email account I have, logged into Facetime with that and voila - it worked
Just for the **** of it I logged off Facetime new AppleID and back in with original AppleID and no dice
So I am logged into ipad using my original AppleID and on Facetime with my new AppleID
Which in my case isnt ideal but as only 3 people use Facetime to speak to me on Facetime I can live with it
But for anyone who uses Facetime extensively probably isnt ideal, I feel for you and hope that if this works for you, at least it works
Now..... how to ask Apple why it wont work with my other AppleID

IOS 7.0.3 upgrade killed Facetime, iMessage and Push Notifications
Facetime, iMessage and Push Notifications were working fine on my iPhone 4.
Since I upgraded to iOS 7.0.3 Facetime and iMessages cannot be activated because of 'Network error' and every app that supports 'Push Notifications' suggest to 'Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications' at start.
Already tried to 'Reset as new phone' and restore from iCloud without any luck.
Suggestions ?Ever since I got the 7.0.3 update on my iPhone 4 I get the "iMessage Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network conection and try again". I can access icloud stuff using my apple ID fine elsewhere. I received iMessages on my laptop through the Messages app but anyone else who uses Messages has their iMessage sent to my laptop and not to my phone. I used to get the messages both at the same time.
I've tried removed the locate iphone app, reset the network settings, rebooted the phone, reconnected to my wifi and synched with iTunes. Nothing has worked.
I'm getting ready to restore the phone now in hopes that doing that works. Never had a problem with updates till now and while this is annoying at least my data is intact! -
Today, I updated to iOS 6 beta 3. iMessage won't activate and facetime too what do i do
Today, I updated to iOS 6 beta 3. iMessage won't activate
Why would you install a beta release...that was only available to registerd developers...when full public release is easily available?

Error Message on iMessage log in
iMessage is angering me to the point of no return on my ipod. So iMessage was working just fine and then I tried to use Facetime and it was signed out. I tried to sign back in and I get a message saying "An error occurred during activation. Try again." and I go to use iMessage and it is logged out so I try and get the same error message. I have been trying for the past three days constantly trying a plethora of tricks; however, I absolutely will not backup, erase, and restore my whole device and I'm also running iOS7 and will not upgrade to iOS8 ever so please don't suggest that. I even made a new apple ID and tried to sign into iMessage through a new email and I got a small feeling of joy that lasted four seconds because I clicked on the "Next" button after choosing my email and it loads only to return to the log in page in the settings back to trying to sign in but only receiving those dumb error messages. There are other devices on this same ID that I'm trying to sign into and they are working perfectly fine. If anyone could please please PLEASE help me in my not-so-fruitful endeavors to regain iMessage back on my original apple ID!! And also please nobody post that Troubleshooting page for iMessage, that bs does not apply to me and none of it has a working solution.

Apple ID Works for Purchase not with FaceTime/iMessage
After resetting my Apple ID password, I can no longer use FaceTime or iMessage. Both apps always prompt for the password.
Here is my scenerio:
Launch FaceTime, prompts for password, key password - failed
Go to App Store, download any app, prompts for password, key password - success (app is installed)
Launch iMessage, prompts for password, key password - failed
Reset password again, repeat above steps with the same resultsUsing FaceTime http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4319

I've had my old O2 number transferred to my new iphone 4s on 3. my facetime and imessage show my transferred number but in the phone settings its still showing as the number that came with the phone.
When i message someone it seems to be showing as either one or the other if its a text conversation its converting from one to the other then back again. Also on imessage its reverted to using my email address.
Does anyone know how to make it so that everything is showing the correct number. i have turned both facetime/imessage off, turned my phone off and on again turned facetime/imessage back on again which sorted the numbers showing on them. But in phone settings thats not done the trick.
Please Help!!!When you go to Settings>Phone, what shows as your phone number? Is the temporary number you describe there or your regular phone number? You should be able to set it there. I don't know if there is a new place for setting anything associated with iMessage. I cannot find any reference in the iOS 5 manual regarding changing settings.

FaceTime/iMessage not working on iPad mini!!
Apple ID is working to sign into App Store but not when I try to sign into iMessage or FaceTime. Worked fine until I traveled to another time zone. I've checked time and date settings, have a working Internet connection, and I've tried all of the troubleshooting advice on the website. Someone please help!! Error message reads: "iMessage activation: could not sign in. Please check your Internet connection and try again"
Try to reset your network settings (make note of the current settings to revert back to)
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
Afterwards, restore your settings manually and reconfigure your FaceTime and iMessage settings as well as all other network related settings.
There seems to some issues with iMessage/FaceTime when moving between timezones and setting the date/time manually to your specific area should usually clear it up (from what I've read). That being said (and if you've already tried the date/time trick), try to reset your network settings. -
MacbookPro (Late 2013) FaceTime/iMessage suddenly stopped working "FaceTime Failed"
FaceTime/iMessage suddenly stopped working "FaceTime Failed" although i am calling the same number, what can i do to fix this?
Hello cameronmhill,
It sounds like you are unable to use FaceTime on your Mac with an error that it has failed. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4185
Check that your email address is verified in FaceTime > Preferences. If FaceTime > Preferences shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.
Toggle FaceTime off and on in FaceTime > Preferences.
If still unable to Sign In follow the instructions in FaceTime, Game Center, Messages on OS X: Troubleshooting Sign in
Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac
You can make FaceTime calls using the FaceTime app. You can call FaceTime users whose contact information is in Contacts. You can add contacts and edit contact information in either FaceTime or Contacts. To place a video call, you may use a phone number or email address.
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the best,

Apple ID, FaceTime, iMessage, Mail problems
It seems the Apple ID has become a bit of a problem with various iOS apps on my iPhone as well as my MacBook's Mail app.
First off, I've been a .Mac/MobileMe member since it's inception following iTools, so I have the dual [email protected] and [email protected] email addresses. My iTunes account as well my Apple Store account use the same name as my email before the @ symbol.
So when I installed iOS 5 and then switched on iCloud, I was asked to use the email for my Apple ID which I used the [email protected]; however, it named my Apple ID w/ the [email protected] but stated the me.com was my email address. Ok, whatever...still can sign on w/ either.
My problem came about trying to sign up or sign in w/ the newest iOS 5 apps of iMessage, FaceTime, Find My Friends as well as Mail. Each stated I could not use the Apple ID I provided because it was already in use. With FaceTime, I tried the [email protected] and it worked but stated that people could contact me using that email...which of course now no one uses anymore.
This similar circle happens as well with Mail (unable to d/l new messages) as well as the Mac Mail app; both keep asking for my password, over & over. Find My Friends keeps sending me to Apple's Apple ID sign in page, but I can't see anything there that allows me to authorize the app w/ my Apple ID.
Long story short, the Apple ID seems to be a bit of a mess right now, and I can only suppose it is due to the major traffic going thru the Apple servers right now w/ the launch of 10.7.2, iOS 5, iCloud, etc.
However, if someone knows of a work around or solution, I'm greatly appreciative for that information.Hello nutsnbolts08,

my iphone 4 after install ios 6.1.3 imessage, facetime and icloud cant use
"We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care...Could Not Be Completed?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked. -

Unable to access facetime & iMessage ):
Bought a iPhone 5S 3 weeks back, upgraded to iOS v8.2. FaceTime & iMessage are found nonfunctional. Applied resetting of networks, pulled both the buttons of FaceTime & iMessage to on/off several number of times after restarting, changed DNS, trick with AirPlane Mode as described in some web pages and YouTube videos were applied too but all in vain.
Can anybody please help me with a possible solution to get my FaceTime & iMessage activated? For the first time I shifted to iOS device and facing this terrible experience! Is this a bug? Both of the APPs are saying waiting for activation and this is a endless wait.Hello Fell-Walker,
