IOS 5 Installed iPad_NO Restoration of Aps

Upgraded to iOS5 on iPad2 following a backup of device by synch to Mac. Install apparently went smoothly, hoever, did not replace my aps. FAQs say to synch w/Mac and it seems that there is no backup there despite performing prior to upgrade. CanNOT get through Express Lane until Saturday despite purchase of AppleCare. Suggestions before have to redo all aps and then heaven knows since things like New Yorker HAD downloaded copy. Drats!

Try a reset, no data lost. Hold the home/sleep button until the device reboots and you see an apple logo, don't release untill you see the apple logo. Release the buttons when the apple logo appears and allow the device to finish booting, then see if the problem persists.

totally agree. at this point i could care less if "apple" supports it. i'm not renting my ipod touch, it's mine. i paid for it. and i'm not asking to do anything illegal with it, all i want is to get rid of this POS ios6 and get back to being able to use my ipod touch the way it was before...working.

I can't install last version iOS and can't restore my iphone

When I tried to install iOS 5.1.1, my iPhone crushed. Now I can't install last version iOS and I can't restore, because iTunes asks the last version iOS in order to restore .. Does anyone know how I can restore ?

Did you buy this phone new from an authorized Apple dealer? The only reference I can find for that error message is for a previously jailbroken iPhone.

Has anyone had the same problem with IOS 6 install and McAfee flagging certain IOS 6 install components as Malware?

I was using ITunes to install IOS 6 on my 64GB IPad 2 when McAfee on my IMac (Software OS X 10.8.1 (12B19)) reported that it had found Malware and had put the offending file into quarantine. The IOS 6 install process then tried to re-write the file. This happened with three seperate files that the IOS 6 install process was attempting to write, effectivley causing a stall in the process. The only way I could get the install process to complete was to go into the McAfee preferences and change quarantine to notify. The process then completed. Has anyone else come across this problem?

Hmmmm... That did not work. I did the full restore on the ipod touch (Losing that is the lesser of the two evils if I screwed it up) and before I resynced it, I unplugged it and tried to plug it into the wall adapter. But it would not charge. Plugged it back into the computer and it popped right up with the lightning bolt on the battery and began charging.
So I resynced it and at least all my stuff is still there. Not going to bother trying with my phone if it didn't work on the ipod touch.
I can assure you my 4s is out of warranty. I've had it for 2 years.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

i have problem with the software , my sound sometimes just turn mute and back again after few minutes. when i recieve phone call phone ring like no problem at all, but when i open musics i can play song, no tool bar volume below the play button. message and all notification went mute just vibrate.

No, restoring the phone will install the latest iOS version.
If you go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings, the phone will revert to its fresh out of the box state, but iOS will not be reloaded - you'll still have iOS 6. See if the problem is fixed, and if it is, load your data back manually.

IOS 7 Installed, Safari is completely unresponsive

iOS 7 install went fine on 4S. Still checking out various apps. But Safari won't work at all. Just the blank Safari screen, nothing will respond. After about 30 seconds it closes by itself. Have tried hard reset of phone, closing the app, clearing all the data etc.

I was going to say restart the phone and try again, but a reset will do that.
I would still say trying a normal restart might be helpful though:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

If the safari app still doesnt work, then I would restore it with iTunes after backing it up.

had a similar problem running plain leopard on a mac mini... just about to start beating my head against the wall when i tried:
-backed up the pre-5 iphone using itunes
-made sure the ios5 software was downloaded
-clicked on restore instead of update, since "restore" will use the latest iOS, installed just fine. No data lost.

I've had issues since the upgrade too-messages wouldn't load, phone locked up and would turn off at random times. Then I noticed my data usage going up a ton in one day and checked and it wasn't connecting to my home wifi. Called tech support and they went through all the troubleshooting they could find and nothing helped. Had to go upgrade. You might try to reset your network settings, but that didn't help with mine

There has never been a legit way to downgrade.
It will always restore to the latest available software.

I just accidently erase my MacBook ios while installing windows,actually I format the ios partition and now when I restart Mac and pressing command bottom it's just windows system comes up and there is no Macintosh option is available!!!!!

Even on my MacBook Pro Haswell (2013) 15 inch retina with a GT 750 2gb.
The Things in Mavericks that really make me :
1. The Launchpad is buggy when i scroll to the left or right... sometimes it doesn't even respond at all.
2. Safari and Other Apps Like AppStore freez sometimes, and i need to force quit everytime, because its not           responding.
3. Bootcamp Windows 8.1 <---- NOT 8 Support (Bad Keyboard- Facetime camera- drivers,
    Icons (brightness, sound) are ugly on retina screen) + GPU Drivers i can't update (maybe that's normal).
4. iTunes is very SLOW when Scrolling the Albums (i know its 2880x1800 and that's heavy for GPU) But it's just     not a good 'Experience'.
5. Gaming its realy good on this MacBook, but please make the drivers better, i know this GT 750 GPU can do           better.
