Ios 5 is compatible to ipad1

ios 5 is compatible to ipad1?

I have the iPad 1 and I updated as did King Penguin. I have had a couple of issues that come and go - and I change my opinion every day depending upon how the iPad is running at the time - but I would do the update all over again without hesitation.
I really like some of the new features - especially reminders and notifications, iCloud - and the problems are slowly being ironed out - I personally like the new Safari with tabs, and the bottom line is, my iPad is now as up to date as it can possibly be.

  • HT202794 About Free Apple Apps for iOS 7 compatible devices

iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated or purchased after September 1, 2013.
The first time you launch the App Store in iOS 7 on your qualifying new or factory refurbished iOS device, you will be offered iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for free in addition to other free software from Apple. When you tap Download All and sign in with your Apple ID, the apps will download to your device and appear in your store account. If you tap Not Now when you see the offer, you can search for the apps in the store and download them one at a time for free
On my new iPad air the apps listed are not free on the App Store for me.

You are logged in with the account that activated the iPad ? Try tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in see if they then show as free.

  • Please do make the iOS 7 compatible with iPod Touch 4

Please Do make the iOS 7 compatible with the iPod Touch (4th Gen).....
It is because iOS 7 is a totally new experience in the field of software GUI !
It is absolutely wonderful and exciting....
IT WOULD BE SO NICE TO HAVE IT ON THE IPOD TOUCH 4 !!!
    Thanks,

A proud iPod Touch (4th Gen) Owner

Sorry but iOS 7 can't run on an 4th gen iPod touch.
iOS 7 needs atleast 512 MB of RAM.
The 4G iPod has only 256 MB. That's just enough for iOS 6.
If you bring in your 4th gen iPod to an Apple Store for recycling, you will get 10% off a new 5th gen iPod that will run iOS 7.

  • ITunesU for iOS 5.1.1 (iPad1)

How do I obtain and install iTunesU on my iPad gen-one?
It was on this device yesterday before i whiped (refreshed) it. Now when i try to install iTunesU from the app store i am told i must update to IOS 7. As you know that is not possible on the original iPad which can only update to iOS 5.1.1. Please help.

Seems the 4.0 app will become an app for 5.0 but who knows how long that will take. Currently found an ipa of version 0.7.2 which was the last iOS 5 compatible version. Guess I'll use that in the mean time since the app store feature of installing previously compatible versions only functions if you already had the app at some point. Since I've never had the spotify app installed I'm not given the option. Just when you think they can't get more absurd with their policies, apple does it again!

  • Is iOS 6 compatible with 1st generation iPad?

I tried updating my 1st gen iPad to iOS 6 but when I connect it to iTunes and check for software updates, it says version 5 was the current one. Am I doing something wrong or is iOS 6 not even compatible with a first gen iPad? Thanks for any help.

    It isn't.

  • Install IOS 4.3 on iPad1?

Should I install IOS 4.3 on my iPad1 in order to download Skype? If so, how? Thanks.

You can install the latest version, i.e. 5.1.1, as only the current version is 'signed' by Apple.
If you decide to update, then connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases - you may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
You can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button.

  • Is ios 7 compatible with itunes 12.0.1?

If I upgrade my itunes to 12.0.1, will it read my ios 7 device? What past ios versions are compatible with the said itunes version?

So older versions of iTunes will not read new iOS updates, but the latest version of iTunes can read lower iOSs.
Thanks for the response Have a great day!

  • Is keynote on iOS fully compatible with iWork on OS X?

I am a teacher and use keynote on my iPad every day.  I have created many presentations using the built-in templates.  It is a joy to use this app.  The same is true for numbers, which I use to do everything from my class registers to end of semester grade reports.
I am considering buying my first Apple computer.  I read in this thread that the iOS and OS X versions of keynote aren't fully compatible.  There seemed to be serious issues with graphics and fonts.  That was some time ago.  Have these problems been resolved?  This is a critical part of my decision.  I want to be able to manually edit keynote themes on a desktop and then use them with my iPad.  (Currently theme editing is not possible on iOS).  If I can't seemlessly edit files on one, have them update and sync to the other via iCloud, then I don't think I will bother buying a Mac.

Thank you, that definitely makes things clearer.
It looks like the 'best practices' are those which involve setting up the presentation to be as though it were created on the iPad. For example, only choosing themes and slide layouts that are available on the iPad.
What I was hoping was that iWork on a Mac would free me from some of the limitations of iWork on iOS, but it looks like this is not possible.
An example: I wanted to be able to edit the theme of a presentation and apply the customisation to all slides. For example, to edit the appearance of all slide titles. (Similar to Powerpoint's / OpenOffice's 'slide master view.')
Has anyone successfully done this (edites a template) on a Mac and transferred it to an iPad?  Can you go as far as changing slide backgrounds?
I'm so glad I found this before buying a Mac, since it looks like I was setting myself up for a big disappointment!

  • Ibooks doesn't seem to like ios 5.01 on ipad1, anyone know what to do?

ibooks doesn't want to function, tries loading and then shuts down.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, same result.
I tried the RESTORE button on itunes, it tried restoring the ipad to ios 5.01 and disconnected at the end for network issues
I tried RESET SETTINGS on the ipad itself and nothing happened
The funny thing is that I updated to ios 5.01 to be able to load PDFs from Safari directly into ibooks and not ibooks is not working and I cannot even revert to my old operating system ios 3.2
Many people have been complaining to Apple about this crash but with no response
    Help, anyone!!!

I'm having the same issue. I just updated to ios5. When I click ibooks, the icon bounces once and then stops loading.
    Help anyone?

  • Is Siri in iOS 6 compatible with old BMW bluetooth?

I just bought the iphone 5 and I have a 2003 BMW 540 with bluetooth.  It seems that when I activate Siri, using the home button on the phone, while the phone is connected to the bluetooth Siri hears me through the bluetooth mic, but Siri's answers do not come over the car speakers.  In essence, it is useless since I cannot hear the answers (the phone speaker is deactivated since it connected to the BMW bluetooth) and I do not want to take my eyes off the road to read the answers on the phone's screen.  I can only think it is a bug in iOS 6 since Siri only hears me through the bluetooth mic and not from the phone's mic.
Thanks in avance for your help.

That's right, it's a bug.  Anytime iOS6 doesn't work the way we think it should, it's obviously a bug in iOS.
First off, your BMW is very old, so the Bluetooth profiles it uses might be out of date. Have you checked with your dealer for an update?
One thing you could try:  On my Lincoln, my iPhone 4S connects using two profiles, one for the phone, and the other for streaming music and Siri.  The Phone connects automatically, but the music stream does not.  Try changing your stereo "input source" to Bluetooth Streaming or equivalent.  When I did this with my 2012 Lincoln, all the Siri commands and responses went through the car speakers.
