IOS 5 is not Syncing Podcast Order Correctly

In iOS 4.x the names of playlists were sorted in alphabetical order. Using a ascii or unicode character made it possible to group certain playlists together without using numbers, which I found useful and appealing. Unfortunately iOS 5 is no longer doing that. I must assume that this is a bug. You can see the screen shots below to see what I mean.
It looks like it is ignoring the caracters at the beginning and

  • Apple TV 6.0 not syncing podcast episodes

Apple TV 6.0 update is not syncing podcasts that are working fine on multiple macs that have itunes and multiple ios devices, all sharing the same itunes account/itunes account/apple id.   The message that appears on apple tv says "No current episodes are available for this station" when they appear fine on non apple devices.

I am having the same problem. I have tried several things to remedy it, but so far none of them worked. I suggest leaving feedback on the bug on Apple's product feedback page. Hopefully there's an update soon that will fix the issue.

    Why not?

  • IPad (iOS 4.3) not syncing. No recommended fixes work

iPad (iOS 4.3) not syncing. No recommended fixes work.  Cant install new ios version. Cant use wifi or icloud to sync. I think the only way forward is to buy a new iPad - but don't want to lose all the books purchased, as well as the apps, on this one - any suggestions on how to save these/transfer to new device?

If you can't use iCloud or you can't sync with iTunes, you can't backup the device or transfer the content to anywhere.
You can download much of your purchased content again for free - and recover your apps, books, music and so on that way.
Download previous purchases - Support - Apple
Did you try restoring using recovery mode as on of the "recommended fixes"?

  • ITunes 10.1 is not syncing my Photos correctly to my iPad or iPhone

    Hi all,
Maybe this is just a bug with iTunes 10.1 but since installing this version my events folders on my iPad and iPhone are not syncing as they are arranged in my iPhoto library. Events folders are not showing the correct number of photos and contain photos from different events. I have about 100 events folders and about a quarter of them are incorrect. The events are also not listed in alphabetical order when scrolling through either.
I'm using iPhoto '11, the iTunes 10.1 and iPad software 4.2 as released yesterday.
It's a really frustrating problem. I've tried deleting the iPod Photo Cashe folder and forcing iTunes to re-examine the iPhoto folder, with no luck. Any help appreciated guys.
One last this, has anyine else had iTunes freeze and crash when trying to download more than two podcasts at a time?

OK. Here's the fix. Haven't had any problems since I tried the following:
    1. Use the temporary fix of deleting the com.apple.Aperture file.
    2. Now re-start Aperture while holding Command + Option and select 're-build database'
    3. Quit Aperture
    4. Note that the progress indicator "Updating Previews for Sharing" appears before Aperture closes
    5. Load Aperture
    6. Load iTunes and connect iPad or iPhone (check for accurate library structure from Aperture)
    7. Sync iPad or iPhone
    8. Create a new folder in your Aperture library.
    9. Move a couple of Albums to the new folder
    10. Go to iTunes and click on the 'Photos' tab of the device sync options
    11. Changes to Aperture library should update properly
Let me know if this works for everyone else. I'm pretty sure it will. Seems that my library was corrupt, but rebuilding the library won't help unless the database (com.apple.Aperture) is deleted first.

  • Photos not syncing in order

The photos I want loaded to my ipod are not syncing in the same order they are in the file on my computer. I have tried renaming them in the order I want them and as far as I can tell they aren't loading based on file size, or the date they were created either. Can anyone tell me how to get my pictures to load to my Ipod in the same order I have them in on my computer?

I have just read the article.
"If you are using iPhoto for Mac OS X, your photos automatically sort on your device in the same order they are sorted in iPhoto or Aperture. Changes made to the sorting of your pictures in your iPhoto or Aperture albums and events will be reflected on the device after syncing."
Well I am using OS X on my MacBook and the photos from iPhoto do not sync on my iPad in the correct event order.
Where do we go from here?

  • My ipod touch with iOS 5 does not sync my TED talk video files.  Other functions of new OS seem OK.  Please help.

After installing iOS 5 on my gen 2 iPod Touch it does not sync my Ted Talk video podcasts.  Extensive collection of audio podcasts syncs as before.

Not true.  X3 still shows in iTunes.  I did a full restore, I unsubscribed, I deleted X3 podcasts from hard drive and re subscribed and downloaded.  They show up in the Podcasts in iTunes but nothing shows in iTouch 3G.  My other podcasts work fine.  This worked fine before this buggy update.  They do show up under recently added, but not in Podcasts.  This is NOT acceptable.
I wish Apple would get off their ego trip and start writing software that works, or give us a way to go back before the update.

  • For those of you with a Windows computer and the iOS device is not syncing or showing up in iTunes. here is a known solution that has been working for tech support!

I know this seems to be an emerging issue ever since the update to iTunes 11.1.4, some iPhones or other iOS devices are not showing up in iTunes or syncing. I'm not sure if Apple really knowns of this issue, but tech support has a (mostly) sure fire way of resolcing this issue. It's only for Windows computers though.
Go to the article http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 and follow the Section 5 Verify Apple Mobile Device USB driver is installed. When you clik on that section, go to your version of Windows (it seems to be happening mostly across Windows 8) . And then to the section: If Apple iPod, Aple iPhone, or Apple iPad is listed.
The gist of what you need to do:
Windows 8 (since it seems to be the most affected) move your cursor to the upper ight corner of your screen) and click on the Magnifying glass. Type in devmgmt.msc and this should bring up the Device Manager. Onc eyou are in the device manager, look for the "Portable device" or "Universial Serial bus Controller" list, and you should see the "Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod" listed. Onc eyou see it, right click it, choose "Update software driver." Now, IT WILL SAY THE DRIVER IS UPDATED. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Select "Browse my computer for driver software." Onc eyou choose that, select "Let me pick from a lsit of drivers on my computer." You should see the option "Have Disk." Choose that. Again, I KNOW you do not have a physical disk, but the file we need is already on your computer. After Hard Disk, choose Browse again. Follow this file path to the file we need: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.. In the Driver's folder, you should see the "usbaaple" or "usbappl64" (if you have the 64 bit for Windows). Double click on that file, and hit OK. The file should install, and once it's finished check your iTunes!!! You may want to unplug your device and plug it back it before doing all of this. I REALLY hope this works for you all as well!

How can I change my file extension from m4p to something else? I have had no success being able to play or burn my purchased music. I keep getting error 2122. If I can change the format I should be able to move it to another player or at least burn it in Nero. Thanks.

    Hello All
i have about 3000 photos on my ipod but for some reason when i open then they will not appear to order (in "my pictures" folder they are all set to "arrange to.. when taken") for some reason they will not sync or show to that order.
any suggestions on how to do that on my ipod too?
    thank you, happy holidays.
    M.

  • IOS 8 numbers not syncing with icloud

I have noticed today that documents I edit on my iPad Air (latest iOS 8) in Numbers are not syncing to iCloud.
The up-arrow in the right hand corner of the document icon doesn't go away.
Syncing isn't working the other way either - changes I make on the Mac are not synced with the iPad.
This was all working fine last week and I haven't made any changes which might explain the problem.
I am running OS X Mavericks and editing iCloud documents through the iCloud.com website.
    Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks
    Rick

I found some advice online which fixed this for me.
in the iPad General settings, I performed a Reset Network Settings and then in Handoff & Suggested Apps, I turned off Handoff.
Perhaps this won't be a problem when Yosemite is released?
    Try the above anyway!

  • IPhone 4S with IOS 8 will not sync with iTunes on a Mac.

I can not sync my iPhone 4S with iTunes on my Mac.  Had to delete the music I had to make room for the upgrade to IOS 8 and now I can't put any playlists back on my phone.  What gives?

    Hi zara,
the thing is we have no option in iTunes to allow it, no check box. Perhaps this is because we're not meeting the system requirements as listed by Apple in this KB article.
    Wi-Fi Syncing requires:
An iOS device running iOS 5 or later, and a computer running iTunes 10.5 or later on:
OS X Lion or Snow Leopard (version 10.6.8)
    or
Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
So it CAN be done with Snow Leopard apparently, but not Leopard (as carmstr27 indicates he/she's using). I'll give it a try once 10.6.8 v1.1 downloads and installs.

  • ITunes will not sync podcasts with iPod touch

I've tried just about everything I know and consulted the internet, but I cannot get iTunes to sync my podcasts with my iPod Touch. It will sync my music, but it simply will not sync any of my podcasts. It must be something simple, but I've exhausted my knowledge on this issue. It worked fine on my desktop, but when I tried to move it over to my laptop, it just wouldn't work, no matter what I try. Call me an idiot or whatever you need to do if this is something stupid, but please, help me get my podcasts back!

There's a good guide here on how to roll back to 10.7 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4559563?tstart=0

  • 3GS on iOS 6 will not sync most of music via cable

I upgraded my 3GS to iOS 6, and most of my music will not sync via cable.  I can check it all in iTunes, but the space allocation bar in iTunes does not change (on iOS5 I only had 1G free, now I have 8 G free), but only about 1/4 shows up on the phone.  I did  full restore--no change.  I checked  fill free space with songs--no change.  Help!  It might be that only music bought from iTunes is syncing and music I ripped myself or bought from Amazon is not syncing--i.e. my enire pre-iphone collection.

Ok solved my own problem--but this is squirrely.  In itunes, at the bottom of the "Summary" tab for your phone, is an "Options" section.  For some reason, having  "Sync only checked songs and videos" checked here only allowed 47 of 1900 songs to sync--even if they were checked on the music tab.  Unchecking this box and managing music from the music tab alone fixed the issue.
