IOS 5 Notifications Missing

I just upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4S. Since then I have noticed that notifications for the Facebook app and the Xfinity app are very rare, even though they should be coming in. I've enabled notifications in both apps and have the notification center options turned on for both. Does anyone know if this is an iOS 5 problem, an iPhone 4S problem or something else? I don't think that I had this problem on my 3GS with iOS 5.
Note that my ActiveSync gmail works just fine.
Regards,
Mike

Hi,
I had the same problem too. The real issue comes down to what your primary email address is associated with your Apple ID. I don't think the notifications will work for all three email accounts, unless you set email forwarding to one, and have that as your Apple ID's primary email address.
I wrote the procedure here,
http://take-a-tech-tip.blogspot.com/2011/10/ios-5-notifications-center.html
If your problem was the same as mine, it should help!

  • IOS notifications break when i enable Work Exchange

My iOS notifications have always worked perfectly well both displaying in the lock screen view and via popup but recently i have started activating my work MS exchange mail on my iphone at random times (to quickly check work email). The notifications will continue working for the next couple of mails but then they stop entirely. If i disable the exchange account i'll still receive no notifications from my other imap/pop accounts. I'll only hear a beep or feel a buzz indicating that a mail or notification has occurred but the screen stays dark. It seems like a bug to me. Is anyone else aware of this?

This is intended behavior. Missed calls appear when the phone rang and you "missed" the call. When you aren't connected, you don't receive the call so it is not a "missed" call. You will only receive a notification if there is a message in your voicemail once the phone comes back online.

  • IOS 7 Missed Notifications won't clear in the Missed section of Notification Center

I've litterally tried everything! Anytime I get a missed call it shows up under the missed section of notification center. I then tap it and call the person back but afterwards it still stays in the Missed section of Notification Center, it does not clear after I acknowledged it. This is clearly a bug, but it doesnt happen on other people's iphone (JUST MINE!) I've tried every possibility...I had my phone swapped out, Restored my phone as a NEW iphone and I even created a brand new iCloud email address for my contacts...the only thing i can possibly think is that it has something to do with my apple id or something. because the only time i don't have the issue is when i restore my phone my phone as a NEW iphone and i DONT log onto my apple id then the issue wont occur, but i need my apple id logged in for all my purchases and what not. So im thinking it has something to do with my @icloud.com address. I looked online and saw some other people were having a similar issue, and yes when i restart my phone the missed calls clear, but i should not have to do this every single time i want to get rid of a notificaion. If anyone at Apple is reading this.....PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. Does anybody out there have a fix?
P.S. I am using a brand new iphone 5s running the newest version of iOS (7.0.2)

I have the same issue. It is a bug that apple needs to address. I have realised what causes the problem is that. When you open the Phone app and view the missed calls. This removes the missed calls from the Notification Center "All" tab, but the Missed Call stays in the "Missed" tab. Few quick fixes I have tried is. Clearing the missed calls from Notification Center "All" tab before accesing the Phone app. Then going to the Phone app to call the people back. Also you can clear the Missed Calls from "Misses" tab by going to Settings>Notification Center>Phone then turn OFF then turn ON  "Show in Notification Center" Hope this helps.

  • Why is Ping Notifications missing in iOS 5.1?

    Hello,
I downloaded the iPad User Guide for iOS 5.0 and iPad User Guide for iOS 5.1. I noticed that in the iOS 5.0 guide there is supposedly the option, under settings -> Notifcations to adjust Ping alerts, badges, etc, but this is missing in the 5.1 guide and not available on my iPad. You can see the missing paragraph from the two guides in the "iTunes Store" chapter, subsection "Following Artists and Friends". I used the iBooks guides.
Why was this removed? I'd like that option.

I've had Lightroom open on my PC for about 24 hrs.  I just shut down Light room and restarted it.  I then deleted the collection that I had created a couple of hours ago and just now recreated it.  The import time now jives with the proper time.  Lesson learned: don't leave applications on over night during the Daylight Savings change.  I'm embarrased but relieved!

  • Extended notifications: Missing tasks in SOST

    Hi!
I've configured extended notifications via SWNCONFIG, including different task filters. When I execute the SWN_SELSEN report, a range of notifications is represented in SCOT. However, when I run SOST, I'm missing notifications on two tasks. Tasks that are used in decision steps in the workflows are represented, but the two tasks that are used in activity steps in the workflows are missing. Why is that?
    Best regards,

  • IOS 8 Missing third party keyboards in some apps

I have iOS 8.02 installed on an iPhone 5S. Have also installed third-party keyboard applications (Swype, Swiftkey, Minuum), however, they only appear in some of the applications. The third-party keyboards are missing from the Messages, Notes and Reminders applications. It works perfectly in Mail and Safari. This same issue occurred with IOS 8.0.
I have installed the same keyboards on another iPhone 5s and an iPad 3,  on these devices the keyboards work perfectly on all applications. These are using IOS 8.0.
Have tried uninstall, reinstalls and resetting the device. Also did a restore and device reset and nothing seems to fix this.
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. IPhone 5S has third party keyboards working in safari but not other apps (8.02). IPad with 8.02 has them working everywhere. Any ideas?

  • Workflow Notification missing field that was retrieved using RFC

    Hi,
We create a dispute case from out r3 system in transaction FBL5N.
This create a dispute case in the FSCM System and an event is created which initiates a workflow.  This workflow sends a notification mail to the person responsible informing them of this dispute case.
Customer name field (kna1-name1) is not available in the FSCM System.
In order to get this we do a RFC in the business object BUS2022001 to get the customer name from R3.
This RFC works ok when you goto test the business object.
However when the dispute case is created and notification mail send, the customer name is missing.  If I goto the workflow log in FSCM the customer name will be there.
It appears as if the rfc to read the customer name into the business object in the fscm system fails to pick up the customer name initially but it will afterwards ( when you goto view the log).  How can I delay the send notification step to ensure that customer name is populated in the business object before the mail is send.
    Thanks
    Ann

    Hi,
I read your threat and saw that your WF is working for Dispute Cases,
I am trying to set this up and have some problems with it.
MAybe you can be a help here.
Did you had to change the standard workflow from SAP to make this work (add triggering events for example) or do further settings apart from the standard customisation in Dispute SPRO and general WF customisation?
In the case modeler, did you add a node with an entry for WF with ANCHOR and attribute WFATT?
    Thanks a lot

  • Twitter iOS Notifications Badge broken

Has anyone figured out how to disable the Twitter icon notification badge on iOS 8 yet? Option not present in Settings.app...

Interesting. I've seen other people mention this too but can't figure out a fix? I hope one comes soon though as it's pretty annoying.

  • APNS - push notification - missing close & view buttons!

    The Remote Notification PG states
"Note: If you want the iPhone or iPod touch device to display the message text as-is in an alert that has both the Close and View buttons, then specify a string as the direct value of alert..."
I am doing that but then I send a push notification I only get the 2 buttons in the alert when the springboard is showing. If my screen is locked (and dimmed) I get an alert with NO buttons!
Unlocking then causes the app to run, there is no choice for the user.
Am I missing something? Is it supposed to work this way?
    Thanks

This is the way it is supposed to work.
With the device locked, the following is the default behavior for Push notifications (as well as SMS and calendar alerts):
    • no buttons are shown
    • the "Slide to unlock" text in the slider changes to "Slide to view" (when the notification first arrives)
    • if the user at this point unlocks the device, the application will be presented (identical to clicking the "View" button when the notification appears on an unlocked device
    • if the user ignores the notification at this point and the device returns to its fully locked state (screen turns off again), the unlock screen will show "Slide to unlock" again - unlocking the device at this point will not open the application (i.e., identical to clicking "Close" on the notification if it arrives while the device is unlocked
    • in order to unlock the device yet ignore a notification, you can press the power button at the top of the device to blank out the screen and then immediately unlock the device

  • Email notification missing on C7

I've bought a new C7-00 recently and noticed that new email arrivals are not notified with "@" symbol on the home screen (like for  'missed-calls' and SMS). I however get tone alerts on new email arrivals.
This used to work on my previous nokia (5233) pretty well.
Please let me know if this is configurable somehow.
    thanks,
    Nitin

i think there is not such a thing that is showing mail notifications.if there is a setting with that widget maybe you can find it there but for me it is the same, i mean it does not show mails but show the calls, messages

  • IOS Safari missing webpage icons

Something that has annoyed me since iOS 7 launched (both iPad and iPhone) is that the Safari "new tab" page, which shows icons for favorite bookmarks, shows only generic gray or colored icons with the safari logo for certain websites rather than the sites' favicons. Is there a way to force iPad and iPhone to load the favicon for the bookmarks? Or am I stuck with looking at the gray icons?

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Appearance tab.
Tick the box next to: Display images when the page opens
All of those icons are gone either when loading a website (i.e. if I go to google's homepage, the "G" is missing in the URL bar) and all of the icons are missing from my bookmarks.
    Webpage icons can get corrupted.
Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
The tilde "~" character represents your home folder.
    Relaunch Safari.

  • Receiving (on OS X and iOS) notifications in Calendar about Reminders

I've had this problem for as long as reminder lists were able to be shared.
I've setup a shared Reminder list with my wife. It works fine.
The problem is, every so often (and I stress, "so often" - not all the time, which is partly why I can't figure out a solution) I will get notified that "XX items were updated/changed by Emily on Shopping list". There are two problems with this:
The alert actually comes from the Calendar app. I know these two apps used to be intertwined but I've never used them when this was the case. Hence, I can never figure out why this is actually happening, as they are now, as far as I can tell, two separate apps.
The alert is delayed and does not align with an actual update to the list. When the alert comes through, my wife has not in fact updated or changed anything. It's arbitrary - the number of items is usually even more the (current) number of items on the list. I open Reminders quite often (loading new or completed items) so it can't be happening whenever new items are loaded. Furthermore, as I said above, it is not all the time. I actually can't tell you how often it is, but it far less than the app is used (by both of us). We update it nearly daily and this alert only comes through (on either iOS or OS X) maybe once every few weeks, or monthly. Hence why I've waited so long to find the root cause.
It's more of a curiosity thing at this point, as I'm so used to dismissing the notification now. Hope someone out there has an idea of what's going on.
I'm thinking I'll setup a new reminders list and share that with my wife and see if the same issue happens. However, as the issue only comes up every few weeks to a month, I won't really know if it's fixed until a few months have passed. But, I'll come back here in a few months and let people know one way or the other.
PS: I apologise if there's another thread addressing this - searching for "notifications in calendar about reminders" is not helpful at all and I really had no idea how to find such a thread, if it exists.

since morning today i have been running the iphone 4 with safari icloud sync turned off. i also left bookmarks sync from itunes off. i unplugged the charger at 100% charge at excatly 10 am. i am on 86% at the moment and its 5.30 pm. however i had to plug in the phone to my macbook for 3g internet access at about 91% which got it charged back to 100%. that was for about 30 minutes. so i guess i would had been at around 75% if i hadn't done that.
so i think people are right about the bookmark causing battery drain thing.
tomorrow i am gonna try with the phone rebooted and charger to 100%, with no location service running in the background, just when the app is running, and with all bookmarks deleted from my iphone. if i have to use 3g off my iphone i would use wifi personal hotspot. usually all this use... a few calls, some internet access, whatsapp, maybe a few pictures, and music for say about 2 hours should still leave me 40-50% battery by night, after 16 hours of use. if that goes well, i might have saved my self restoring the iphone to new.
as for the mac, i figured out a way to use timemachine for a smaller hdd. i will simply 'move' those files i dont want to keep on my ssd anyway, to an external hdd. like podcasts, videos and movies. then take a TM backup when the used space is under 120 gb. and then restore that to the SSD. should work, hopefully.
