  • IOS notifications break when i enable Work Exchange

My iOS notifications have always worked perfectly well both displaying in the lock screen view and via popup but recently i have started activating my work MS exchange mail on my iphone at random times (to quickly check work email). The notifications will continue working for the next couple of mails but then they stop entirely. If i disable the exchange account i'll still receive no notifications from my other imap/pop accounts. I'll only hear a beep or feel a buzz indicating that a mail or notification has occurred but the screen stays dark. It seems like a bug to me. Is anyone else aware of this?

This is intended behavior. Missed calls appear when the phone rang and you "missed" the call. When you aren't connected, you don't receive the call so it is not a "missed" call. You will only receive a notification if there is a message in your voicemail once the phone comes back online.

  • Twitter iOS Notifications Badge broken

Has anyone figured out how to disable the Twitter icon notification badge on iOS 8 yet? Option not present in Settings.app...

Interesting. I've seen other people mention this too but can't figure out a fix? I hope one comes soon though as it's pretty annoying.

  • Receiving (on OS X and iOS) notifications in Calendar about Reminders

I've had this problem for as long as reminder lists were able to be shared.
I've setup a shared Reminder list with my wife. It works fine.
The problem is, every so often (and I stress, "so often" - not all the time, which is partly why I can't figure out a solution) I will get notified that "XX items were updated/changed by Emily on Shopping list". There are two problems with this:
The alert actually comes from the Calendar app. I know these two apps used to be intertwined but I've never used them when this was the case. Hence, I can never figure out why this is actually happening, as they are now, as far as I can tell, two separate apps.
The alert is delayed and does not align with an actual update to the list. When the alert comes through, my wife has not in fact updated or changed anything. It's arbitrary - the number of items is usually even more the (current) number of items on the list. I open Reminders quite often (loading new or completed items) so it can't be happening whenever new items are loaded. Furthermore, as I said above, it is not all the time. I actually can't tell you how often it is, but it far less than the app is used (by both of us). We update it nearly daily and this alert only comes through (on either iOS or OS X) maybe once every few weeks, or monthly. Hence why I've waited so long to find the root cause.
It's more of a curiosity thing at this point, as I'm so used to dismissing the notification now. Hope someone out there has an idea of what's going on.
I'm thinking I'll setup a new reminders list and share that with my wife and see if the same issue happens. However, as the issue only comes up every few weeks to a month, I won't really know if it's fixed until a few months have passed. But, I'll come back here in a few months and let people know one way or the other.
PS: I apologise if there's another thread addressing this - searching for "notifications in calendar about reminders" is not helpful at all and I really had no idea how to find such a thread, if it exists.

since morning today i have been running the iphone 4 with safari icloud sync turned off. i also left bookmarks sync from itunes off. i unplugged the charger at 100% charge at excatly 10 am. i am on 86% at the moment and its 5.30 pm. however i had to plug in the phone to my macbook for 3g internet access at about 91% which got it charged back to 100%. that was for about 30 minutes. so i guess i would had been at around 75% if i hadn't done that.
so i think people are right about the bookmark causing battery drain thing.
tomorrow i am gonna try with the phone rebooted and charger to 100%, with no location service running in the background, just when the app is running, and with all bookmarks deleted from my iphone. if i have to use 3g off my iphone i would use wifi personal hotspot. usually all this use... a few calls, some internet access, whatsapp, maybe a few pictures, and music for say about 2 hours should still leave me 40-50% battery by night, after 16 hours of use. if that goes well, i might have saved my self restoring the iphone to new.
as for the mac, i figured out a way to use timemachine for a smaller hdd. i will simply 'move' those files i dont want to keep on my ssd anyway, to an external hdd. like podcasts, videos and movies. then take a TM backup when the used space is under 120 gb. and then restore that to the SSD. should work, hopefully.

  • Work connect on iOS - notification issue

Hi all, I have an issue with the work connect nofitications on iOS. I need to be able to configure the app only to notify me on mails from a specific contact as I have to react only on that one during the night. I have deactivated the mail sounds within the work connect app and set the important contact as VIP, but the phone is still ringing on every received mail.....with an additional sound for the VIP.I assume that is not even possible at the moment.... But maybe the app could be changed to send only notifications for VIP´s to iOS and not for every received mail... Regards,Alex

For posterity: the problem seems to be that I hadn't enabled netcfg@<networkprofile>.service with systemd. I had only enabled my wired profile. I.e. doing 'systemctl enable [email protected]' fixed it.
In short this was a failure to configure netcfg startup with systemd. But hey, that makes it (drum roll...) a sysytemd issue! Like most of the problems one encounters while setting up a computer; it is a configuration issue (i.e. PEBKAC). But hey, thats what the forums are for.
@Trilby, @WonderWoofy Thank you both for your insightful, constructive and, above all, helpful comments. I hope everyone else coming to this thread for information on why their wifi won't start will find them every bit as useful as I did.

  • Unwanted iOS notifications on a Mac Mini

My dad took my spare Mac Mini with him when he moved out of state. I recently found out that he has been getting notifications on the Mini every time someone messages me on my iPhone. I'm assuming this has something to do with my having set up the Mini initially as my computer, with my iTunes account linked and so forth.
I need to know how to talk him through disabling these notifications. Can anyone help?

I would go to Messages>Preferences>the account and the either:
    - Sign out of the existing ID and sing him into his own ID,
    or
    - Uncheck your Phone number and email address and add an email address for his use.
Similar to above for FaceTime if that is being used.
You also might want to sing him out of your iCloud account if signed in (System Preferences>iCloud)

  • IOS app notifications on the Mac

OK, I've installed ML, and have the new spiffy notifications feature available. My question, is how do you get app notifications to appear there? I want to have my iOS notifications like CNN or ESPN appear on my mac like I have on my iOS devices. How do I do that?  Thnaks.

My problem is Notifications will NOT work.We have a cable modem and Linksys E  1000 router.I have a Dell and a Mac. The router iswireless for both, but the Dell is the older 'puter. My Mac is @ a year. In System Preferances, under Network Settings Wi-Fi is on, but not Ethernet, FireWire or Bluetoth PAN, claiming No IP.
    How do I get Notifications?

  • Change Weather Data Source in Notification Center and Siri

The data coming from Yahoo into the Weather app and iOS Notification Center says the temperature is 37f and the low/high for today is 43f/58f! Even the Yahoo Weather web site has the funky data. My other weather apps show the correct temperature which is 48f.
Is there a way to include a different weather/temperature source in the Notification Center and for Siri?

The naitive weather app is the only weather app that you can have for the scroll in the notification center. Siri will check all its sources for weather related questions.

  • Why don't Outlook calendar events show up in Notification Center?

I have my iPhone (6) with iOS 8.1.2 set up to work with my corporate Outlook, and everything has typically worked fine.  At some point in the last few weeks, I've noticed that Outlook calendar events don't appear in the Notification Center - and I'm confident that they used to.  They show up in the Calendar app, reminders pop up for the events...but suddenly they don't appear when I pull down the Notification Center on my phone.  Only iCal and events that I created on my phone show up.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

ManSinha - thanks for your response - and yes, that's the first place I looked.  The Outlook events still don't show up in the iOS notification center.  They do show up in the upper "summary" section though - the where it has the date, weather, then "The first thing on your calendar today is (Outlook Event) at 12:15 PM."  But in the Calendar widget right below, it doesn't show up.
Again, it shows up in the Calendar app - so I'm not sure where the disconnect is.

  • Message notification bug??

There seems to be a bug in iOS notification. I don't get a notification when I tried to send a message to my iPhone from my WIFI iPad.  The message is there but never got a notification. However, sending message from my iPhone to my iPad, I do get a notification on my iPad as expected. I am running latest iOS 5.1 on both devices. Is that a known problem?

it's a bug in the new version of BBM, happend to me too.

  • IPhone mail notification delay (not iCloud mail, though)

    Hello.
Probably an old subject. Couldn't resolve the problem though, browsing through the old discussions.
My mail notification sound is delayed by about one minute from when I receive my mail.
This happens only on my imap-account, which isn't iCloud - the mail notification comes right on time when I get mail to my me.com account.
Has anyone resolved this issue? I believe it's an issue with mail providers which don't support push. Mine doesn't.
    Regards,
    Mathias

It takes a bit for the Mail app to launch, downloadt he email process and pass to iOS Notifications.

Since your mail provider does not support Push, it is not an issue with Push.

  • Push Notifications & Red Badge V25

This doesnt get mentioned in the V25 release page but, while checking out the latest version of the App Builder I came across this in the Certificate Page:
Does this mean the iOS notification system is available now to Pro users?
Not sure why the check boxes and input box are greyed out. They are defaulted that way.

You need to set up push by providing your push certificates in app builder. Once your certificates are up, the notification button in folio producer will send a push out to every iOS device that has installed your app and registered for notifications.
If you don't enable your app to recieve push notifications when it is built or if you don't provide correct push certificates from apple to Adobe, push will do nothing (actually it will send an error if you have incorrect certififcates).
This is fully explain in Bob's most excellent documentation on app builder.

  • IOS Home Button and Event.ACTIVATE/Event.DEACTIVATE

    Hi all,
I read tons of questions re iOS Home Button and Event.ACTIVATE/Event.DEACTIVATE. Everything should work well if you set the proper listeners and save/restore your app state upon receiveing these events.
My question is: Is there a way to tell difference between a Home Button press and an iOS notification alert or incomming call? In both cases, AIR will dispatch Event.DEACTIVATE, however I want to know if the user pressed the Home Button or if he just received an SMS/Calendar alert, and adapt my app state accordingly - i.e. if it's a Home Button press, change my app state to "Main Menu", otherwise (SMS/Calendar/alert) I will pause execution.
NOTE: I don't want to override the Home Button behaviour, just want to tell if it's a Home Button press or SMS/Calendar/alert, and react accordingly. The iOS documentation states that in case of SMS/Calendar/alerts, (void)applicationWillResignActive:(UIApplication *)application is dispatched, and in case of actually going to background state (i.e. Home Button pressed) (void)applicationDidEnterBackground:(UIApplication *)application is dispatched.
    Thanks

Any luck with this yet? I'm having the exact same issues but on a different device, the Kindle Fire.
I need to determine whether a user hit the Home button, or hit the Quick Settings button (that accesses controls like volume). Air treats both events equally by broadcasting Event.DEACTIVATE. Unfortunately, the Amazon Appstore approval team thinks otherwise...
It seems like there should be a simple, no-brainer way to track these events, but I'm beginning to suspect Air just is not capable. In that case, if you're developing for Kindle Fire, you may want to avoid going with Adobe.

  • Not getting messages or notifications...

Okay so I'm not getting notifications for my Skype messages anymore I checked that my status was online and everything was fine there and my group message status for getting notifications was also on. Skype notifications was on in my settings but still no notifications.
On top of that I go into the Skype app and sometimes the messages don't even show up there! It's similar to when their is a network issue on my end but I'm able to send and receive messages again but there are missing messages that others in the group chat have received. It's very annoying because I'll send a few messages and ten minutes later there will be a message between my messages that I never got before. This only happens sometimes though and usually it's just the notifications. I'll go into Skype and there will be thirty new messages from all sorts of group and one on one chats that I never got.
So I'm not getting notifications and even when in Skype sometimes I don't get messages even though i have a perfect internet connection and my status is always online and connected. I already tried deleting the whole Skype app and redownloading it but still no use. Could it be something to do with the fact I haven't updated to the new iOS? If not what is the problem and how do I fix it?

I havent had IOS notifications fro months, and am right up to date (iPhone6 and IOS 8.2)
Microsoft seem to have lost all interest in fixing the problem.  The only positive is that battery life has increased as Skype never receives any messages.
