IOS 5 Update Process Errors and Attempts Galore

Hi Apple,
Just wanted to let you know that I've waited to update to iOS 5 until today because I heard there were some issues. Well it looks like the issues still exist EXACTLY as they did almost 3 months ago despite having another iTunes update. As a result I can't update my iPhone to iOS 5 and can't use some of my apps because they require updating. So thanks for completely ignoring everyones complaints and not resolving these issues. My sister's Droid phone has been working AND updating seamlessly, perhaps it's time for a change.
Your product is not the only product. Your product is NOT perfect and never will be, but neither is the competition's. The competition makes a good product as well, otherwise they wouldn't be competition. What sets your company apart from the competition is how well you support your product when it inevitably fails to do what you say it will do. This is a very basic idea that can make or break a company, yes, even a giant like you Apple.

You can not chose update it'll give you an error, so backup your device then chose restore

1. Call transaction SMQ1 and check whether all queues in all clients (client = '', queue name 'MCEX') have been processed. To process the queues, start the collective run report for each application in the displayed clients. 3. Before the upgrade, delete the contents of the setup tables. Execute report RMCEX_SETUP_ENTRIES to find out which setup tables still contain entries. You can use transaction LBWG to delete the contents of the setup tables for all clients.
Unfortunately the check that the system carries out during the upgrade or when you import a Support Package does not display all affected applications. Therefore, Note 1083709 provides a check report that you can use to determine all affected applications and tables or queues.

I need the updates because I just purchased a Nikon D60 and my Photoshop does not read the .NEF files produced by the camera.

Do you really mean the Nikon D60 which shipped in 2008? Was it purchased secondhand?
The Nikon D60 was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw 4.4.
Photoshop CS4 ships with Camera Raw 5.0 so it can read D60 NEF files out of the box. No updates required.
If you do mean the D60 then something else must be going on. e.g. are you using Nikon software to transfer files from camera to computer?

IOS application verification failed error and/or iTunes hangs in "install"

I have 2 games we're writing/testing.
Our first game we finished a few weeks ago. We coded and tested in Adobe Flash Prof. I got a "distribution" certificate, I built an "app identifier", I registered my 2 devices (each with a different UDIDs) and I built a distribution "provisioning profile" for this game. I went back to Flash Prof, specified "iOS 14", supplied the certificate and provisioning profile, my password and specified "adhoc" under deployment (I specified "adhoc" everywhere it showed up because that's what Apple told me to do). This game published and built an "ipa" file, I dragged the ipa file into iTunes and plugged in my iPhone6 and hit "sync". It popped onto my iPhone and the game works great.
The second game I tried to load today failed miserably. I did the exact same sequence. The game works great in Flash Prof. I used my dist'n certificate, built a new app identifier, built a provisioning profile and specified my devices. I went back into Flash, specified iOS14, redirected it to the certificate, gave it my pw, pointed it to the new provisioning profile and hit publish. It built an ipa file that I dragged to iTunes, plugged in my iPhone and hit "sync". It never installs, it starts, the icon shows up in iTunes but in my iPhone it is "blacked out", if I hit it, it just says "installing ..." and in iTunes it also just hangs there saying "installing". So, I went back into Flash Prof, and this time I specified "post publishing, install on my iOS device". When I publish it now, I get the following error message: "ApplicationVerificationFailed".
What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,
It wasn't the Prov Profile or my Dist'n Certificate (Apple told me to use this instead of a Development Certificate for ad hoc dist'n and testing), and I rebuilt both of them a couple of times with Apple's help today so they weren't the problem. The problem was in Flash Professional and how I specified other things. When we specify the Provisioning Profile, there's a "App ID" we need to provide right underneath it on Flash's Publish screen. I had that App ID wrong, apparently it has to match Apple's odd naming convention and I had that goofed up. Flash seems to populate that field with what it thinks the App ID is (based on the name of the FLA I would suspect) and it is NOT what Apple recommends on their developer website (with their reverse naming convention).
Once I fixed that, my game built, the ipa file was dragged into iTunes and it sync'ed with my iPhone no problem.
Many thanks for the help. There's so much to specify and build on Apple's site and apparently there's not much guidance for non-xcode users regarding how each piece ties together in the publish process. I love Flash Prof and ActionScript3, productivity is VERY high, but this iOS build stuff and Apple's many steps made for a long day.
So one little goof made all this noise. Oh well, I won't make that mistake again. My plan is to make all new mistakes when it comes time to move these games to iConnect ...

PNG files don't work after iOS 7 update on iPad and iPhone

I have several PNG files stored on my CC account but when I start a new photoshop touch project and try to add the PNG it downloads as a blank image. The dotted outline is there but the image is blank. It used to work before iOS 7 and now it does not. Can someone help.
This started happening after iOS 7 update and im having the same issue on iPhone and iPad.

IOS 5 update fail - apps and Safari not working

i completed the iOS 5 update and now none of my apps work. Also, Safari is locked up. Any ideas of what I need to do?

Any thoughts? Any internet based program besides email cannot connect.

Apple offers no supported way to do it. As such any other non supported ways that may exist cannot be discussed in these forums.
No that if you try any of the non supported ways you may void your warranty and forfeit any support from Apple including these forums.
Yoiu can use Google to find ways of doing this at your own risk.

Ios 5 update causing Error 1602 on ipad 2 - Stuck in restore mode

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone experienced the same issue as me and has a fix.
Tried to update to ios 5 last night but got the 1602 error. ipad 2 is now in restore mode. For the remainder of last night I was unable to get the laptop (running XP) to detect the ipad. Finally got it to detect it this morning and it steps through the process but I keep getting the 1602 error.
I have disabled all anti-virus software and tried 2 different USB cables in different USB ports with no improvement. Have also moved the iPad2,2_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw to another folder to force it to redownload, which it did but got the same error again.
Any suggestions on next steps would be greatly appreciated.

Ios 5 update takes hours and hours to finish

trying to update to ios 5 and in the start when it is backing up my iphone will get to green bar will move only a short ways and never finish

- Also look at the previous message on the right hand side of this page with the grren checkmark under the heading "More Like This".

SCUP update failure: Error and 0x800b0004 and 0x80246002

Hi, I'm trying to get Adobe products using SCCM2012R2 and SCUP 2011. The site server and distribution point are on the same machine, and the WSUS server sits on a different machine. We have a root CA which uses AD Certificate Services.
My code signing certificate comes from that server.
When I deploy my update to the test collection, it fails with Failed to download updates to the WUAgent datastore. Error = 0x800b0004.
On one machine, I get the error with the same text, but the error number is 0x80246002.
Although I don't think it should be necessary, in an attempt to fix this, I did import the code signing certificate to the trusted publishers store on:
The clients to be updated
The site Server
The WSUS Server
This did not change the error message at all.
If anyone could point me in the direction of a fix, I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks for the reply Torsten. I did import the code signing certificate to the root CA store (although with an ADCS certificate, I don't think this should be necessary), and got the same result.
How do I find out if it's "really trusted"? Is there a security association that I can check?
I forgot to mention that I did add the "Allow signed content from intranet Microsoft Update service location" GPO to my clients, and it is being applied.

Replication issues: Operations Master shows ERROR and attempting to connect to server shares gets "the target account name is incorrect"

I think this should be easily resolved, but I need some guidance.
I have a client with 2 Server 2003 R2 x64 DCs: BORIS & NATASHA. Last year I upgraded both of them from x86 to x64 one at a time, allowing replication to occur between the upgrades. BORIS is the FSMO roles holder as it is currently the production server,
while NATASHA is a backup DC. One thing that puzzles me though is that if I look at the NS record in DNS on the SOA tab, it says NATASHA is the Primary server.
While doing some routine maintenance I noticed an error in the File Replication Service events about a 'Tombstone' situation (Event ID 2042). I looked at article cc757610 in the Technet Library and opted for remedy #3 as I did not want to demote NATASHA
and I got confused looking at the help about using "repadmin /removelingeringobjects". I have no idea how to determine which DC has the good copy of the directory.
Now, in running "repadmin /showrepl" I get

When I try to look at the FSMO roles on NATASHA, it shows ERROR for RID, PDC & Infrastructure and says "The current Operations Master is offline. The role cannot be transferred." The other issue I'm having is that client PCs are intermittently having
trouble reconnecting to necessary server shares.

I spent a lot of time trying to understand using NETDOM to reset machine account passwords (don't understand it yet), but I see that you're saying that won't work anyway.
I'm not really sure how to tell which DC is the broken one, but I'm assuming it's BORIS since that's the one users are unable to connect to. Since it is the FSMO role holder and GC I want to make sure I understand the steps correctly:
1.Use dcpromo to forcefully demote BORIS
2.Do metadata cleanup on NATASHA (using ntdsutil?)
3.Promote BORIS again to DC
Should I leave NATASHA as the FSMO role holder and GC? BORIS is the better (more resources/faster processor) machine and it's the file server. Or should the better machine be the FSMO role holder and GC as well as the file server. NATASHA is meant to be
a backup in case BORIS dies.

The step you are performing is correct but you also need to seize the FSMO role on other DC if BORIS is FSMO role holder and configure authorative time server role.You can later move the famo role to BORIS server the choice is your however if you are
moveing the role then you need configure authorative time server on BORIS server.

Once both server is online check the health of DC by running dcdiag /q and repadmin /replsum.Ensure that DNS/GC role is configured on both DC's

Ios 6 update causing errors

After updating my ipad 3 on Friday my ipad is not working properly. I can not access iMessage, it will not verify my appleID at all, my facebook app will not allow me to make a status update or read messages and the app store will not load. Safai will not let me access masses of sites either. HELP

Then connect your iPad to your computer ,open iTunes ,click on your iPad's name in the left column ,hold the shift key and press restore , chose the file u downloaded , Wait for the restore to finish.
Then set up your iPad as a new iPad .
Here you go, Now your iPad will be perfectly fine.. And is now in iOS 5 legally.You do not void your warranty........
