Ios 5 update takes hours and hours to finish

trying to update to ios 5 and in the start when it is backing up my iphone will get to green bar will move only a short ways and never finish

PNG files don't work after iOS 7 update on iPad and iPhone

I have several PNG files stored on my CC account but when I start a new photoshop touch project and try to add the PNG it downloads as a blank image. The dotted outline is there but the image is blank. It used to work before iOS 7 and now it does not. Can someone help.

IOS 5 update fail - apps and Safari not working

i completed the iOS 5 update and now none of my apps work. Also, Safari is locked up. Any ideas of what I need to do?

Any thoughts? Any internet based program besides email cannot connect.

i tried to install the ios 7 update a few minutes ago and i hit install and now it says i have to plug it into the computer so i did but the screen wont change from the black screen with the usb cable with the arrow to the itunes symbol

Apple offers no supported way to do it. As such any other non supported ways that may exist cannot be discussed in these forums.
No that if you try any of the non supported ways you may void your warranty and forfeit any support from Apple including these forums.
Yoiu can use Google to find ways of doing this at your own risk.

OS X Server 3.1.2 update takes hours

Hi,
yesterday I updated my server app to version 3.1.2 (13S4517), installed on a 2012 Mac mini with 10.9.3. It downloaded and installed correctly, followed by a restart of the server app. The usual window appeared saying that the server is being updated on this Mac, which may take several minutes.
These several minutes turned into more than 10 hours without any visible change of the progress bar (stuck on roughy 40%). You can't kill this window as it says that Service configuration is in progress. I finally had to kill the process itself, followed by restarting the Mac. When starting the server, the same Update window appears again, just to get stuck again at the same position as before (now since almost 5 hours). Any previous updates of the server app were executed within a few minutes without any problems.
Any idea what's going on and how to get the server working again?

Well, I had to kill the process again after running (or hanging) for more than 24 hours. I left it there since I had to take care of other stuff. After two days I started the server app again, and this time the update went through without any problems in just a couple of minutes. I really don't know what went wrong with the first two attempts.

Permissions repair takes hours, never finishes

I've been doing some looking around the forums but haven't found an answer to my question.
PROBLEM: Permissions repair takes FOREVER. I started a permissions repair task on the startup drive yesterday afternoon and it hadn't finished by this morning. In fact it said it had 12 more hours to go. Right from the start there are hundreds of entries about ACLs found but not expected. After awhile the list stops populating. And just when you think the thing has locked up, you hear disk activity and see the list change.
WHY DID I RUN PR?: We'd recently created a new user account on that machine and Final Cut Pro was crashing a lot on the new account.
OTHER TIDBITS:
- The account I ran PR from is an administrator account
- There are multiple administrator accounts on this machine
- This machine has a lot of disk: startup drive, project drive, scratch drive (2 disc RAID0) and an external FW800 RAID1 drive. (I ran permissions repair on the startup drive only.)
QUESTION: It seems like we have serious ACL pollution on this machine. Is there a way to clear them out and "start over"? I can reinstall if necessary, but would prefer not to.

Since Permissions Repair is checking permissions on (I believe) most every file in your system, it's not unreasonable to expect that the more files on your system, the longer the repair process will take. Twelve hours does seem a bit long, but as long as PR seems to be working and not hanging, if I were you, I'd pick a time when the computer won't be needed for anything else and let PR run to completion. Also, it seems that the remaining time calculation is an extrapolation based on the time already spent to do the completed work, and if some of that work took a proportionately long time, the 12-hour estimate could be a significant overestimation. Since you aren't eager to do a reinstall, letting PR run to completion seems to be the most prudent thing to do.

IOS 5 Update Process Errors and Attempts Galore

Hi Apple,
Just wanted to let you know that I've waited to update to iOS 5 until today because I heard there were some issues. Well it looks like the issues still exist EXACTLY as they did almost 3 months ago despite having another iTunes update. As a result I can't update my iPhone to iOS 5 and can't use some of my apps because they require updating. So thanks for completely ignoring everyones complaints and not resolving these issues. My sister's Droid phone has been working AND updating seamlessly, perhaps it's time for a change.
Your product is not the only product. Your product is NOT perfect and never will be, but neither is the competition's. The competition makes a good product as well, otherwise they wouldn't be competition. What sets your company apart from the competition is how well you support your product when it inevitably fails to do what you say it will do. This is a very basic idea that can make or break a company, yes, even a giant like you Apple.

You can not chose update it'll give you an error, so backup your device then chose restore

HT4972 How long does ipad 2 iOS 7 update take from iOS 4.3.5?! Help?

Hi, trying to download iOS 7 for an ipad 2 that has iOS 4.3.5. I've updated iTunes, downloaded ios7 to iTunes and am trying to update the ipad. I've manually backed up the ipad but when I click "update" it tries to back up the ipad still. Left it running for 2 hrs and nothing seems to be happening. It only has 12gig of data, is something else wrong?
Not much good at computer stuff, and getting frustrated. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

If you are using iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

Update takes long and its never done at the end of each day.

I also download adope reader on several occasion thinking this would help, but installation is never complete. It keep saying there's a problem that needs to be reported to Microsoft. Please help.

What version of Reader are you trying to update?

Songs grayed out after iOS 8 update

After updating my iPhone 5s with the iOS 8 update, my playlists and songs are acting crazy! I use playlists to teach fitness classes, and when I open a playlist now, or several songs are grated out and will not play! I've tried to delete the songs and playlists and re-sync with my computer, but nothing helps.

I don't know but I hope someone can answer because the same is happening to me! I bought 2 songs yesterday and can't add them to any playlist and a few songs I already had are grayed out as well.

Ios 7 update not showing

i have an iphone 4 on ios 5.1.1 and when i go to see my software update it gives me an update for ios 6.1.3 and not 7

UGGGG!! IOS 5 updated, but didn't resync, dosn't see my ipad now!!

I got the ios 5 update to download and install (i think), using i tunes 10.5.0.142. Software was updating, created a backup but when it went to resync with the ipad, I got an error message that back up could not reinstall. Now the itunes dose not see the ipad at all when plugged into the computer. I have tried to reset the ipad with it plugged in and nothing......
Any help or advice would be great, I am pulling my hair out!!!!

Are they backed up to your computer? If so you can go to the "Apps" tab in the main window of your iPad and resync them there.
OR
On you iPad go to App Store > Updates and the first tab should be something called "Purchased" (if you have already entered you Apple ID) and you can re-download from there.

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.
