Ios 6.0.1 no connection iphone 3gs

Hi there,
Here a short description of my problem: i have got an iphone 3gs and after the update to ios 6.0.1 I have problems with my connection.
It's always searching and mostly not finding a connection... Sometimes it gets a connection for short time.. Any idea?

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. IOS 5.0.1 upgrade on iPhone 3GS,

Prior to iOS 5.0.1 upgrade on iPhone 3GS, I could readily connect to and use a variety of wireless networks at home, work, and on road.
Since installing the upgrade as prompted on device, I find WiFi is unstable to unusable.
Unless the device is sitting practically on top of a router, I cannot maintain connections.
If I am more than 2 ft out of direct line of sught of router, I lose my connection.
I have to date read and completed the following online suggestions with no success:
1-Restarted router - NO CHANGE
2-Reset Network Settings on device - NO CHANGE
3-Toggled in and out of Airplane mode - NO CHANGE
4-Completed various options for start/restart of device - NO CHANGE
5-Disabled all other services using battery at same time (Bluetooth/Location Services, Mail, Reduced Backlight even) - NO CHANGE
6-Forgotten prior networks - NO CHANGE
7-Attempted to assign Static IP to device on router side - NO CHANGE
8-Restored from backup - NO CHANGE
8a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
9-Restored to Factory state - NO CHANGE
9a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
10-Changed Router security from OPEN to most SECURE - NO CHANGE
10a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
11-Setup new router - NO CHANGE
11a-Repeat 1-6 and 10 again - NO CHANGE
During all of this multiple iOS 4.x devices and iOS 5.0 devices have been on the routers connecting as always.
The device in question functioned perfectly up to the point of iOS 5.0.1 so I know this is not a iPHONE hardware issue nor is it a ROUTER hardware issue.
I have seen this posted frequently and do not believe this to be an isolated state I am in.
Any thoughts and suggestions before moving to another manufacturer all together and get out of this Apple mindset.

Nothing personal (or maybe just a little personal), but simply copying my post from a day earlier as your own is not helpful to the Apple communities or people that coming here looking for support.
It does nothing more than add a duplicate post and decrease the chances that someone might actually include a reference to my original post, which came from MY OWN HARD WORK in troubleshooting my issues.
If you are having a similar issue, post the issue after doing your own leg work and describe in your own words. Don't simple steal someone else's hard work to troubleshoot the problem as your own effort.

The conventional ways of doing this, such as using turning off the SMS preview under the "passcode lock", well that option no longer exists, or if it does, I'm somehow missing it.
When I go to the "messages" setting under settings on my phone, I still don't see an option of turning it off.
If I can just get the name of the person sending the message, as I had it before, I'd be happy.

The iPhone 3GS supports Bluetooth 2.1 and earlier; all versions of Bluetooth are backwards compatible.

"sync" fails to open? Do you mean, iTunes?
If you manually open iTunes, does your iPhone show up in the left column?
If so...
Click on your iPhone in the left column of iTunes.
Click on the "Summary" tab in the right colum of iTunes.
Scroll down to "Options"
Select "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected"

Some App developers keep older versions around for download.
You will need to download the App to iTunes on a computer first.

I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.
It might be something in your backup.

Can't connect iPhone 3GS since Lion

I have a bit of a strange problem. I'm putting it in this section since it only started after upgrading to OSX Lion.
My iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.3.3) no longer charges or connects to iTunes on my Macbook Pro (~2006, 2.4 Core 2 Duo). This is happening on my gf's 3GS (iOS 4.3.2) also. My first thought was that it was the cable, however plugging my iPod classic in to the same cable works fine. It's not the USB port since I am able to connect my iPod classic as mentioned and plugging in a different USB cable (for a camera, BlackBerry etc) into the same port works fine. I have also used the same iPhone cable in a wall charger and it works fine. So the cable is fine, the USB port is fine, iPod classic will connect but not iPhone 3GS. As I mentioned this only happened after my Leopard install. Any Ideas?

Not sure if this will work for you, but I found in another thread and it worked for me. iTunes helper can be found under >System Preferences>Users & Groups>Login Items. If iTunes Helper has a yellow triangle with an exclaimation point, delete it out and follow the steps below.
The fix involves iTunes helper. Go to login items and delete the one that's there. Then drag a new version of iTunes helper from the iTunes package to login items. To find the iTunes package, go to Applications>iTunes, then right click on icon>double click Contents>MacOS, then drag the iTunes helper back into Login Items.

All iPads are either WiFi only, or WiFi + 3G. So, your iPad does have WiFi.

You can't because the pairing of an iPhone & iPad by bluetooth is not supported.

How can i connect my iphone 3gs to imac using bluetooth. On the mac it displays that my iphone does not have the "necessary services". On the iphone it just has the loading circling and not even recognizing a device. Plz Help.

For what purpose are you trying to connect the two?
The only thing you can connect a Mac to an iOS device for is Internet Tethering (Personal Hotspot) - nothing else.

I updated my iphone 3gs to IOS 5.1.1 and now my wifi is interrupted.Also,internet speed slowed down.Has anyone else experienced this?How do u fix this problem?Tried and tried to find a solution.Starting to lose my cool.Had no problem with Apple products until now but am starting to lose confidence in their products.It's as if they know about this problem but don't have an answer to it.If anyone can solve this issue please,please let me know.I would be most greatful.HELP!!!

As you pointed out, turning on Compass in Location Services will only provide you the Longitude and Latitude on on the compass interface.
To enable the "True North" option you will have to turn on the "Compass Calibration". It is located in the "System Services" menu.
iOS5: Settings > Location Services > System Services
iOS6: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services
Based on the test I just did (iPhone4 iOS6), both "Compass" and "Compass Calibration" have to be turned on for the "True North" option to be enabled in the Compass app.

I have an iPhone 3GS running ios version 6.1.3. I'd like to update it to get the new security patch in 6.1.6, but the only upgrade I'm being offered in settings is to 7.0.6. My understanding is that iOs 7 doesn't work on a 3GS and it will crash my phone.

Hey man congo for learning that its iphone 4 and dont worry it will work fluently with ios 7 so update it and enjoyyyy.... well but still u want to go and download the ios 6.1.6 then go to setting...general....soft update.....klick link below update and u will be in the apple update history section then in top right u will fine download another update and then u can easily download it in itunes
but I would prefer to update to 7.0.6 becoz its quite good in this os though I misss some ios 6 features like all others.....well its ur choice
