Ios 6.0.1 no sim

Hi all,
Last night I have decided to update my Iphone 4 to 6.0.1 over the wifi. After the update the phone had "No Sim" problem. I have turned off and on several times and synhed with itunes as wired but it didn't solve.
Finally this morning I have removed the SIM card and restatred the phone and it gave me a message like "Sim is not installed" ( I can't remember the message(. anyway after that I have inserted the sim again and restarted the phone and it fixed the problem .. Worth trying ..

What model iPad? - wifi only or wifi + Cellular? If wifi + cellular, your Sim card may not be present or not making connection.
 Cheers, Tom

Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

  • How do i get past IOS 8 activation without a Sim card

I Bought this Iphone 5 off this dude. but i cant even use it because theres no sim card and the activation thing says i need one.. I have an iphone 4 with the same carrier which is verizon. but the sim card is bigger so it wont fit. i looked up ways but theres no way to get passed it on ios 8 yet just some ways on ios 7. So somebody please give me an source or something. And dont just say u have the same problem because i really dont care just give a answer

You always need a SIM card to activated any iPhone.
    For iPhone 5, you'll need a nano-sim card.

  • IPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1 Dual Sim failure

    Hello,
First of all I want to clarify what I mean by Dual Sim. I am using the iPhone with this SIM from the first 2G model, and it was working perfectly.
It is one sim with two phone numbers (one forwards the calls to the other). This options is offered by the Romanian carrier Vodafone for business clients.
I am not talking about two phisical sim cards.
Starting yesterday evening after upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4S (bought in Germany) I can't really use the phone anymore, I hardly have any signal and nobody can call me on both numbers.
I changed the sim with a new one from Vodafone but had no luck.
The sim is working anyway perfectly on other iPhone models (3g, 3gs, 4) with a lower iOS version than 5.0.1.
I really hope Apple will issue an update as soon as possible because right now I have to go back to an older model in order to use my phone.
Any help and/or feedback would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Sebastian

    Hi Sebastian,
I do have a similar problem. I also use a dual sim that works on iPhone4 and iPhone 3GS perfectly. I obtain the dual SIM service from the Spanish carrier Movistar.
If I go to Settings > General > Phone > SIM Applications > Dual, I am able to see wich line is active, but I can not change from one to another. If I try to change the line, the phone loses its network service and I have to switch it off and on again to recover the network service and being able to talk, text and navigate.
With 3GS and 4 I could perfectly change from one number to the other one (Before I had a Nokia N97 and it also worked perfectly). With my brand new 4S (iOS 5.0) I do have to switch the phone off and on again in order to change to the line I want to use.
Movistar Spain has recognized there is an issue with iPhone 4S and dual microsim cards. They say  they are waiting for Apple to approve some kind of new version (I guess they talk about a new iOS version but I'm not sure).
I know there is more people at Spain using this service with Movistar and they are becoming really angry (using 4S with iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1), because this issue was reported more than a month ago. It's really frustrating having paid for such an expensive phone and suffering this kind of problems...
I hope Apple will give us a solution really soon.
    Regards.

  • Iphone 6 running iOS 8.02 showing no sim

I did not have any problems running ios 8 at all.  I only briefly saw for 5 minutes my phone showed No Sim But it went away.  I decided to update to ios 8.02 and it worked for a few hours but now it is showing No Sim again and it is not going away.  I am not having other problems like with Touch ID or with wifi but basically I cant do anything phone related.  Is there a fix to this or an option to downgrade to 8.0 or am I phoneless until Apple releases another update?

Did you already try to update your carrier settings?
Follow these instructions to update your carrier settings:
Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Note: Occasionally a carrier may release a mandatory update. This type of update will display only an OK button instead of an Update button, to let you know that the update was downloaded and installed.
If you need to know the version of the carrier settings your device has, tap Settings > General > About and look next to "Carrier".
    Additional Information
Note: If you insert a new SIM or micro-SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you'll need to download the carrier settings for the new carrier wirelessly. Carrier settings are available only for iPhone support carriers and iPad partner carriers. If you're not using a partner carrier, you will need to set up the carrier's settings manually. Refer to your carrier for appropriate settings.

  • IOS 6.1.2 : "no sim card" message

    Hi,
since I upgraded to iOS 6.1, my iPhone 4 started to lose the phone network frequently : each time I took an elevator or I took the subway, it was enable to get back on it. It just displayed "no service"
After I upgraded to 6.1.2 but the problem got worse. Now my phone sends "no sim card" message several times a day. I need to turn the flight safe mode on and off and re-enter my PIN to re-activate the SIM card. The problem even occurs during the night when the phone is untouched in a place where the reception is good.
Before iOS 6.1 the problem didn't exist, I thought about downgrading but I understood there's no way to do that.
Does anyone experience the same ? Any idea ? Magic trick to fix it ?

I also download update 6.1.2 and now have no wifi or blue tooth connection tried all the restores and tried while connected to I tunes, hurry up and fix this apple the silence is deafening

  • HT201274 attempted to download new ios 6 software. wiped out sim card and computer doesn't recognize iphone now. blinking apple icon is only thing I get

Need help with iphone 4. tried to download new software and it zorked sim card and phone. Only get a blinking apple icon. Computer doesn't recognize iphone so I can't restore

    Hello henry lfrommiami,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot this issue where your iPhone gives you the message "No SIM Card installed" please follow the steps below.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Turn airplane mode on and then off again.
    Restart your iPhone.
Check for a carrier settings update. Go to Settings > General > About. Install any available update.
Remove the SIM card and make sure that it's a valid SIM that your carrier provided. Also make sure that it's not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
A SIM tray that comes with one iPhone model won't necessarily work with a different iPhone model. When you insert the correct SIM tray, the SIM tray should be flush with the device.
If you have another SIM card, insert it. You can use a SIM card from any phone with the same format as your iPhone SIM card. If your iPhone works with that SIM card, contact the carrier that issued your original SIM card.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you still see the issue, contact Apple support.
If you see 'No SIM' alert on iPhone
    Cheers,
    Alex H.

  • IPad 2 with iOS 7.0.2 - No SIM

I have been running my iPad 2 for some time without the Mobile Data being on. I updated it to iOS 7.0 with the Mobile Data off. Wondering if this somehow meant the 3G chip firmware never got updated.
I updated to 7.0.2 today via Software Update. When switching Mobile Data back on it comes up immediately saying No SIM. Tested SIM in an old iPhone 4 and it worked perfectly. Tried alternative SIM and still the iPad 2 won't see it.
I tried all the advice on the Support article including the full restore of 7.0.2. Still No SIM. Blew inside the slot... still No SIM.
Anyone know any magic tricks to revive the 3G functionality or is it time to let this iPad 2 sink to the bottom of the ocean like the big blue diamond in Titanic?

  • Updated iphone 5 with ios 6.1 - lost all Sim contacts - how do I get them back?

I updated my iphone 5 last night to the latest update 6.1 (and signed into the cloud for the first time) and now all my SIM contacts are gone....only my Facebook ones remain. How can I get them back?

The iPhone doesn't store any information on the SIM at all. Updating the phone should not have affected anthing on the SIM. Are you sure you're not talking about contacts stored somewhere else?
Did you try re-importing the contacts from the SIM if that's where they came from?

  • HT3939 apple companny plz make correct things.. i update my iphone to ios 6 he block :( . my sim is not loaded :(     plz come to my house   pla

Apple Technical Support doesn't make house calls. What is the exact error message you're getting? It sounds as if perhaps your phone was hacked to unlock it and when you updated the software, the hack was removed.

  • Using iPhone 5 unlock but iOS 7 cant support giffgaff sim

Hi there, i'm bought my iphone 5 from apple few months ago and since then i'm using O2 sim, however yesterday i tried on giffgaff sim card and my phone need activation and error message showed that sim is not valid as carrier is not support. Anyone can help?

Good customer service entails that they contact the apple id linked to the device and confirm if it was sold or stolen and help the new owner..
Sorry, but I disagree.  It is not the OEM's responsibility to check nor confirm any such thing.  it is up to the seller and the buyer, in a private party personal transaction, to ensure that both are satisfied with the terms and conditions of the sale and the item.
You buy a used personal item as is from someone, and it is just that, as is.  The responsibility is solely on the two parties making the exchange to ensure that both have gotten what they wanted out of the deal.
No company is going to get involved in any such private party sales or exchanges of items - in the USA at least, it would be a legal minefield for them, if nothing else.  Private/personal property sales are just that, private and personal.

  • After iOS 5.1.1 upgrade, there is a "No SIM" error on iPhone 4S!

I bought an iPhone 4S from USA last month and I want to use it in Turkey. Actually, I have just used it for last three days. But yesterday, I updated it with iOS 5.1.1, and then iPhone can't see the SIMcard, although I haven't touched the SIM. Now, it returns always "No SIM" error. So, I can't use my iPhone anymore. How can I solve this problem?

    Hi,
    No, it's never jailbroken.
My simcard was old, I changed it with a new one, 256 K. Then iPhone can see the sim. I think the problem is about supporting issue of iOS 5.1.1 for sim's version.
Thank you for your quick response, KiltedTim.

  • Hi Guys, Im getting a secnond-hand Iphone 4S and im going to use it as an ipod. How will i set it up if i dont want a SIM Card?? And if i use a SIM card for the activation then can i take it out??

Hi Guys, so im getting an iphone 4S as a hamy-down and im gonna use it as an ipod without a SIM Card. Im going to put my backup data on it from my old device. How will I activate it? Can i use my family members SIM (SIM that has been used in an iPhone before) to activate it,  then can i take it out and use it without a SIM.
    Regards, PulseSol

You can't activate any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed. So, yes, you'll need a sim card to activate the phone. The sim itself need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. While you can remove it, after the phone is activated, I recommend you don't. If you ever need to restore the phone, or update the iOS, you'll need a sim card installed to do so.
Make sure whoever is furnishing the phone to you, follows the directions here, before you get the phone:
