IOS 6.0.1 not downloading

My iPod 4th gen won't let me finish downloading iOS 6.0.1, it will be almost done  then say it a problem accrued, it' does this every time I try

If you are updating via iTunes that sounds like a network timeout error. Disabling the computer's security  software durning the download and update usually resolves that error.

  • IOS 8.1 Does Not Download All iCloud Mail/ Keeps Cache?

    Hello,
I have setup and enabled an iCloud e-mail account on all of my devices and was successfully able to use the Mail app in Mac OS X Yosemite to copy mail from my Yahoo! inbox to my iCloud inbox.  All e-mail copied from Yahoo! Mail appears in the OS X Yosemite Mail app as well as in the iCloud.com site, however, my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5 both running iOS 8.1 does not download all of the mail from iCloud.  I have tried the following on both iOS 8.1 devices with no success.
    - Disable iCloud mail and re-enable
    - Sign completely out of iCloud and sign in again, then reconfigure all iCloud services including mail
The result of both steps is that the incomplete list of e-mail in the iCloud inbox just reappears in the Mail app instead of downloading from iCloud again.  It looks like the incomplete list of e-mail is stored on the iOS device and signing out of or disabling iCloud mail just hides it; re-enabling or signing in merely shows it again.  This appears to work differently than my Yahoo! Mail configuration where if I sign out of or delete the Yahoo! account and reconfigure, iOS downloads a fresh copy of all e-mail in the inbox and all other folders.  Here are my two questions:
    - How do I get my iPhone and iPad Air 2 to download ALL e-mail from my iCloud mail account?
    - Are my suspicions true? Does iOS actually store a cached copy of iCloud mail on the device when the service is disabled and just "redisplays" it when re-enabled?
    Thanks!

I had the same problem. My iCloud it's a mess since the iOS 8.1 update.
Probably your iCloud isn't working too.

  • Since my update to IOS 6 I can not download Apps. What do I do!!??

Since my update to IOS 6 I can not download Any Apps, because I can not see te info on the next screen when I chose an app... What do I do!!??

    It HAS to be hardware..
I made the appointment, thank you.
I consistently close all apps, keep my brightness down, keep wifi off when not in use, and location services. Reset my phone and still the battery drains so fast!
It appears to be messaging, and Facebook apps, and safari that are the leading cause..
If I send maybe 10 texts, I'll easily lose 4-8 % battery. I literally watch it drain in front of my eyes.
Roughly a minute of Facebook, safari, or mail consumes 1-2%.
That is faulty hardware, or software..
Either way it's apples fault. My phone is mint! Never been out of this otter box except to wipe dust off and when I charge it..
I charge regularly. Let it die down before charging, and let it almost completely die then fully charge it once a month too.
I hope apple repairs my battery, or software

  • IOS 8.3 is not downloading/updating

My iPad 2 is not downloading iOS 8.3 (I've tried 3 different times). Each time I've tried, it becomes a black screen that alternates with a black screen with white-apple logo.....for HOURS. A couple days ago when I tried, it was over 24 hours that it kept alternating between the two screens, and while it's doing that, I cannot turn it on at all (even if I try to hold the power and home buttons down for 10+ seconds). I've tried the update with it plugged into the wall in 2 different places, unplugged, and now plugged into the computer connected to iTunes. That's not making any difference. Each time it does come back on, it's not updated to iOS 8.3 and still has the red 1 on the Settings app to update.
How long should the iOS update take?
If it's alternating between the totally-black screen and the black screen with apple logo, does that mean it's updating that entire time??
Please help! I want to actually be able to use my iPad.

  • HT1222 My software update iOS 6.1 is not downloading and is holding up all other downloads. How can I fix

Hi my iOS 6.1 software I'd not downloading. It is holding up all other downloads. It tells me 1 min left then tells me 3 hours left. Any ideas?

    Does it say Waiting?
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

I think I finally figured out how to do it. I simply un-synched all the ringtones, then re-synched them. Now everything appears to be fine. (shrug)

  • IOS 8 nightmare do not download it.

after downloading iOS 8 my ipad2 is a nightmare to use?? Slow to respond, constantly crashing, shutting down Apps while I am using them, tried to print boarding passes today was impossibl??? I'v lost loads of info from my docs and bookmarks to name just a few issues really wish I hadnt downloaded it now.
Apple what have you done? How come this was not tested on all models of iPad and iPhone prior to releas ?
Is this just a way of making us all buy new iPad or iPhone?
IM very happy with my iPad and until apple bring out a new one that really does do more I won't be changing. Unless it's to buy the new Microsoft tablet which is looking better to me every day.

Try these suggestions, in this order.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data.
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
If all of that fails, restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, then restore the backup when you are done. If that still doesn't help, restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Most purchased content can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID and as long as the content is still available in the store.

  • ITunes 11.4 (and iOS 8.0) will not download

I am running Windows 7, Norton 360, and get my internet service from Verizon FIOS. I have been completely unable to download the iTunes 11.4 update that recently came out. If I try and update iTunes through the help menu in iTunes, the entire program freezes up and I have to force a shut down through Task Manager. If I try and update through the pop up that appears shortly after I boot my computer, it begins the 11 mb download of the installer but stops after downloading .1 mb I'm at my wits end.  I never once had a problem updating iTunes on this same computer at any point before.  I just got FIOS a month ago and now there's nothing but problems.  It's also worth noting that I have been experiencing similar problems trying to download iOS 8.0 on both of my iPads (each of which have over 20 gigs of free space.) Any ideas?

I Am having the same issues. I tried to update my phone 5s on thursday morning and it did the same thing. I took it to work and it updated in 15 minutes. Now I am trying to update my son's phone at home and nothing will happen. I think it's the Fios.  Itunes will not respond to anything at home. I tried my laptop and our desktop.

  • New software update still not downloading.  Apps updates have all downloaded since iTunes issue resolved.  Is the software issue also related to this, or is there another problem?  This is on my iPhone 6, not my Mac.

Trying to download the iOS 8.2 software update on my iPhone 6, but it won't update.  All app updates have resolved since the iTunes issue was resolved.  Is the software update issue related to this as well, or is it another problem entirely?
I've synced it to iTunes, turned it off/on, etc., but still not downloading.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi DebC64,
So is the iOS 8.2 update not downloading to your iPhone, computer or both?
You have synced it to iTunes, that is an option to update if it's not updating wirelessly.  Please see if other steps help.

Restore to factory settings. That will use the latest iOS and then restore from a backup.

  • IPhone and iPad iOS 5.1: Gmail IMAP attachments not downloading

I'm having an issue with Gmail (IMAP) not downloading attachments from myself! (I use Gmail to archive documents, etc). Same issue on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3, both iOS 5.1, using the default mail app with default "Gmail" account (IMAP) set up.
They *were* both working fine, then I erased both devices for a clean install. Set up the email accounts again, now none of my own attachments download on either device.
When I say not downloading, I see the attachment download box (dashed box with download arrow inside), and on pressing it, the attachment downloads (0 to XX kb), but then the download box just flashes back to showing the file size, and the attachments do not show. I keep pressing the download box but it flashes and nothing happens. Same with .jpg .png .doc .xls .pdf, etc.
    BEFORE THE FORMAT:
All attachments downloaded correctly (as far as I can remember) before I had erased both devices.
    NOW:
Attachments sent *from* me ([email protected]), via Gmail website, to me or anyone else, BEFORE formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, do NOT download. However, if I then forward the email, including attachments, the attachments appear in the outgoing message preview! (so they're not corrupt)
Attachments sent *from* me ([email protected]), via Gmail website, to me or anyone else, AFTER formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, DO download and correctly appear in the email.
Attachments sent *from* me ([email protected]), via iPhone/iPad, to me or anyone else, any time BEFORE or AFTER formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, appear correctly.
Attachments sent from anyone else, *to* me ([email protected]), always appear correctly.
On a friend's iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1), adding my gmail account using the default "Gmail" setting (IMAP) works fine - all attachments download and show!
On a friend's iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1), adding my gmail account using the default "Gmail" setting (IMAP) replicates my problem - all attachments from me (sent before the format) do not download. (So it's not specific to my own devices!)
Gmail Exchange server (m.google.com) works fine: all attachements download and show correctly. Also no problem using Thunderbird IMAP or the Gmail web interface.
So it looks like it might be a problem with iOS 5.1, however it all seemed to be working fine before I did the erase/format... and new emails sent from me always appear correctly... actually that might explain why it was working before (as I was always downloading new emails, and not looking at archives).
So the only other thing that might have changed is some IMAP server setting? Could the headers or mail flags have changed somehow for older emails??
    Any thoughts? :-/

I reproduced this problem over the weekend, on friends' iPhones (all running iOS 5.1). Opening their Gmail sent folder and trying to view an attachment sent from a while back (basically one that hasn't already been cached by the Mail app) failed to display. Exactly the same problem - download arrow flashes and attachement won't show / can't be opened.
I'm in the UK, but not sure if that affects anything.
Thinking this might be a bug in the Mail app in iOS 5.1, as earlier versions work fine.
