Ios 6.0.2 introduces keychain bug?

Since I updated to iOS 6.0.2, I've experienced problems with some apps that can't seem to remember password credentials after each reload. I have to RE-ENTER the login credentials repeatedly. What a pain!
iOS just can't seem to remember Twitter password in the Settings!! I entered Twitter password, iOS then verify it is correct. Then when I return to the Twitter setting, iOS IMMEDIATELY forgets the password.
Another website reported this problem in greater detail http://estrategypro.com/discover-which-ios-apps-store-password-securely-with-ios -6-02-bug/
There could be a bug in the iOS keychain in 6.0.2. This looks serious to me because it has security implications.

If enough other people report the issue (I don't have that problem), go to http://apple.com/feedback, select your product and for feedback type select Bug Report.

The only thing that I can think of that might be causing the issues that I have a Mac Mini on Mavericks.

    Hi
I have discovered that my question above is a non-question. A user triggered by looking at the below article about Illustrator 2014 cc 17.0.2
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/release-note/illustrator-17-0-2-release-notes.html
He had recently upgraded from wht we now know is 18.0 to 18.1 which is the latest version. He read the above artic
le and supposed that it was a bug fix release for his version - because the v17 ov18 number is not often displayed. It is usually just 2014 CC.
I have asked him to post a bug report about Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.1

  • IOS Music app: Album and Artist bugs

My iPod touch (5th generation, iOS 7.1.1) has several bugs in its Music app. Here is how I was able to reproduce the bugs.
    Go to the Artists view.
Select an artist from an album with multiple artists. (Example album: The Lego Movie; example artist: Will Arnett)
    Go to the Albums view.
Select the same album from step 2.
BUG 1: The album only shows the song by that artist. I should see all songs on the album. In addition, the duration of all songs in the album is limited to the song I see, rather than all songs on the album. (When connected to the Internet, "Show Complete Album" appears. [Screenshot] Tapping it invites me to download all of the other songs in the album, which I already have.)
    Go to the Artists view.
Select another artist from the same album from step 2. (Example artist 2: Mark Mothersbaugh)
BUG 2: I only see songs by the artist in step 2, rather than songs by the artist I selected. [Screenshot]
    Go to the Albums view.
Close and re-start the iOS Music app.
Select the same album from step 2. I see all of the album's songs again.
    Go to the Artists view.
Select an artist from the same album as in step 2.
BUG 3: I see the entire album, rather than just the songs by the selected artist. In addition, the artist at the top of the screen is the artist of the first song in the album. [Screenshot]
Can anyone else confirm this bug? Also, what is the best way to report this bug to Apple?

Unfortunately, the 15-minute edit deadline on my original post passed, so I need to make the following correction here:
"Can anyone else confirm this bug? Also, what is the best way to report this bug to Apple?"
    should be
"Can anyone else confirm these bugs? Also, what is the best way to report these bugs to Apple?"

  • Keychain bug

I cant save my settings in mail. when set to password authentification it goes to apop athentification.
Now I got this suggestion of my problem from a friendly soul.
"This sounds like a keychain bug which usually is fixed by accepting the password always after using the Keychain Utility to repair the Keychain. "
I have done the keychain repair and it was ok. But where do I go to accept the password always?

Well, it turns out this isn't related to 10.5.2 at all. The same problem exists even in the original 10.5 Leopard release! I guess I just never noticed it because I had most of my passwords already saved. Come to think of it I've had a couple times where a password wouldn't come up like I was expecting it to. But I never thought much of it because it didn't happen repeatedly like it did the other day when I had to switch between two accounts a bunch of times.
Good news is I also found a workaround. It's a pain, but if you create the password items manually in Keychain Access, Safari will pick them up just fine. All you have to do is look at another saved password and fill in all the fields in a similar way.
After some more troubleshooting I found the bug gets even stranger: if you already had multiple passwords saved, it can apparently save the same number of new passwords. Went to a site, I had two passwords saved there (user1 and user2). Logged in as two new users (mike1 and mike2). Now I have two saved passwords, as shown in Keychain Access:
    Name: domain.com (user1)
    Account: mike1
    Name: domain.com (user2)
    Account: mike2
Of course the passwords for user1 and user2 are now totally gone.

  • OS X 10.8.3 breaks Displays preferences, introduces serious bug

Looks like Apple introduced a nasty bug with all the supposed bug fixes that came with OS X 10.8.3. After installing (and also trying a clean install) OS X 10.8.3, my Display configuration changes on its own, typically when waking from sleep, but it has also occurred while I was working. My two graphics card, two monitor set-up (one monitor per card) gets misconfigured and adds a third "phantom" monitor which kills the performance of my MacPro, reducing video playback to about 1 frame per second and introducing all sorts of video artifacts. Even opening a new window is slow and stuttery. The problem persists after rebooting. I deleted the windowserver.plist files, emptied the caches and rebooted, which very temporarily fixes the problem... but the problem returns within a few minutes to an hour. I tried locking the windowserver.plist files to prevent the system from changing them, but to no avail. I've already wasted two full days troubleshooting this show-stopping bug, having tried zapping the PRAM, deleting prefs, reinstalling the OS twice, and reinstalling all of my software after a clean install, etc. Looks like I will need to downgrade to 10.8.2.
I'm using a 3,1 MacPro, ATI Radeon HD 3870 and ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, one Samsung 1920 X 1200 monitor and one Princeton 1280 X 1024 monitor... yet look at the sceen shot of the third "phantom" VGA monitor that 10.8.3 thinks is plugged into my system.

Same here, except with a MacBook Pro Retina 13". My external LaCie 324 screen hooked up with display port to DVI adapter works fine when I boot but once the MacBook comes back from sleep I get flicker and snow making it unusable. Unplugging, replugging, restarting the Mac, power cylcing the screen: nothing fixes the issue appart from doing an SMC reset. Once I do that, the screen works flawlessly again until the Mac goes to sleep and wakes up again. This only happened with 10.8.3.
I've been calling Apple about the issue, the guy told me it looks like a software issue and recommended I reinstall Mac OS X or downgrade to 10.8.2. Issue is, I'm an iOS developer and Xcode requires the very latest Mac OS X to run (if not now, then in a few weeks) making downgrading a poor choice. I'll be reinstalling my system from scratch to 10.8.3 but from what I'm reading here, it doesn't look like a good solution either. I'll keep you posted if it solves my problem.

  • ITunes 10.6.1 Update button for iOS update does not work (a bug)

iTunes 10.6.1 Update button on iOS device Summary / Version page does not update devices. It only checks the iTunes version!
With iTunes 10.6.1, connect an iPad, iPhone, iPod running pre-6 iOS version.
On iPad Summary / Version page, next to  [Update] button the message says:
"A newer version of the iPad software is available (version 6.0). To update your iPad with the latest software, click Update."
However, clicking the [Update] button will not start update iPad. Instead it gives you a dialog saying:
"This version of iTunes (10.6.1) is the current version".
Obviously it should start updating the i-device there but instead just goes and check the iTunes version ?!?
    A Bug!
What's really annoying in this bug is that it's the only way to update pre iOS 5.x devices, which is now impossible!
Apple should get this fixed asap!
    Anyone found any workarounds?
[Edit]: There seems to be another discussion of this issue already:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19671173#19671173

Just forgot to add, yes, I know there's iTunes 10.7 but it's only available on Snow Leopard and higher.
The machine in question is an old macbook, running Leopard (10.5.8), that it will propably never get upgraded.
Since most  my older i-devices were initially synced with that particular machine, I'll be now stuck with iOS updates, without loosing content.

  • IOS 4.2.1 / Exchange Calendar Bug - "Tentative"

I've noticed a problem with iOS 4.2.1 on my iPhone and iPad. Whenever I accept a meeting request from Outlook it shows up as "Tentative" in iOS even though it is "Accepted" in Outlook. If I accept the request from iOS directly it shows up as "Accepted" on both calendars. Anyone else seen this problem before? It's driving me a bit crazy and I'm hoping it is a bug that will be resolved.

    Hello
    Check the following:
Make sure your account is not a member of an AD protected group - for example Domain Admin, Enterprise Admin etc.
Check if security inheritence is disabled on the user object. If it is, turn it back on. This in done through the security tab on the user object -> Advanced and the checkbox in the lower left corner "Allow inheritable permissions....." - this should be enabled.
    Presto!
    Kind regards

  • IOS 4.2.1 auto-correction bug in gmail web interface

Seems to be a bug in 4.2.1, relating to auto-correction of spelling errors within the gmail web interface (i.e. within safari)...
Whenever I'm typing, if I make a spelling error for which auto-correction suggests an alternative, attempting to cancel the auto-correct by hitting the little X icon next to the suggested word has no effect - the suggestion stays there... the only things that can be done are to either (a) backspace and retype the word correctly, or (b) hit space and allow the erroneous correction to be made.
Auto-correct appears to work fine for other sites accessed within Safari, and also other apps... seems to just be isolated to the gmail web interface (at least as far as I'm experiencing atm)
Anyone else noticing this? Any workarounds or fixes suggested?

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem on an iPad running iOS 4.2.1 (8C148)--- exactly as you described: I can't cancel individual autocorrections. This is a major problem with typing on the iPad, because it's hard to be precise with the keyboard, but technical words need to be canceled. It happens in gmail, but not some other text boxes in Safari, such as this one.

  • IOS 8 with Family Sharing activated bug

Is anyone else experiencing a bug where music will download from iTunes Match via cellular data through the “Media Services” System Service?  Here are the pertinent settings on my iPhone:
Settings -> Cellular -> Use Cellular Data for, disabled: App Store, iTunes Store, and Music
Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Automatic Downloads, disabled: Music, Apps, and Updates
Settings -> Music -> iTunes Match, enabled
    iCloud account: [email protected]
iTunes & App Store account: [email protected]
Family Share "Organizer" account: [email protected]
Before I activated and linked my [email protected] account to Family Share, music did not download over Cellular--which is how it should be with the first three setting above.  However, after connecting to Family Share, the iPhone consumed over 1.5GB of cellular data in 30 minutes.  When I looked to see what had been downloaded, I discovered that a bunch of music from iTunes Match had been downloading in the background (I do not remember initiating the downloads).  Music continued downloading until I completely disabled all Cellular Data (Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data).  When I re-enabled Cellular Data, music began downloading again.   Eventually it stopped because all the free space was filled.
This morning, I deleted all of the music off of my iPhone, disabled iTunes Match, and then re-enabled it.  While on a Wi-Fi network, in the Music app, I selected a playlist to download, after a few songs downloaded, I turned off the Wi-Fi, and now the music does not download via cellular data--which, again, is how things are supposed to work with the given settings.  I do not know if this means the problem has gone away--I hope so, though because this bug blew through my monthly allotment of "high speed cellular data".

I'm having the same issue. I don't use Family Sharing.
When I updated my 5s to iOS 8, I enabled iTunes Match and downloaded my playlists, then after a little while I discovered that I had run out of space. When I looked in the storage settings, it had downloaded an extra 5GB of music! Fortunately this all happened over wifi.
However, I got my iPhone 6 Plus, and decided to set it up as a new device. When I enabled iTunes match and downloaded my playlists, went out with friends and got a text from EE saying I'd used 80% of my allowance, and then 10 mins later another text saying my allowance was all used up!
Checked under Cellular Data and I noticed Media Services had downloaded 2.7GB of data while I was out and the phone was in my pocket! Went to iTunes Store and saw there was still some pending downloads that had stopped because my data had run out! Really annoying this. My playlists add up to about 4.5GB, but my total music storage is now 10GB. That's 5.5GB of music I didn't select to download! It's sneaky this iOS 8!
Worth nothing that I do have Automatic Downloads enabled for Music and to use Cellular Data. This has never happened before though! I wondered if it was some sort of Genius feature to download more music it thinks you might like. God knows. Hope it gets sorted!

  • IOS 5 not saving Network configuration - bug

Can't find a place to report this bug so I'm doing it here...
    1. Upgraded both iphone 3GS and Ipad 2 to IOS 5 - all working correctly.
    2. Changed Enteprise password (due to corporate policy).
    3. Now both devices require manual configuration of WPA2 Enterprise authentication whenever they are woken up. The network configuration is clearly being reset to WEP when they go to sleep.
I therefore conclude that the Authentication type is not being stored correctly by IOS 5, hence it is reverting to WEP.
Apple - please fix asap as this is severely impacting corporate use of both devices.
    Thanks.

We also have deployed ain our company a number of iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, etc.). We are using WPA2 Enterprise as a security protocol and all our devices had no problem at all connecting to the WiFi network when at iOS 4. When we started upgrading devices to iOS 5, we started having exactly the problems you mention in your posts. I agree that this should be a major bug to iOS networking facilities, because it seems that it cannot store the WiFi account preferences with the correct authentication type and credentials, resulting in our devices not being able to enter the network AT ALL after being upgraded to iOS 5.
The nice thing regarding the issue is WHEN this issue occurs and when it is not. (it doesn't occur in all devices upgraded so far). If you have upgraded your device to iOS 5 from scratch (restore from iTunesand "Set as New Device" settings (no Restore from backup), then the issue emerges automatically for us.
If your user just upgrades when the iTunes message pop up appears, or manually ("Check for Updates") then all devices behave normally after the upgrade.
Something should be done ASAP, because we are facing a major problem over here...

  • IOS 4.2.8 iCal Alarm Bug?

When I create an event in iCal on my iPhone 4 (Verizon iOS 4.2.8) I will set an alarm to notify me of the event, set for an hour before. The alarm/notification does not go off until 3 hours after the start of the event. Has anyone else experienced this?

Figured this out myself. This is not a bug. Apple has an option for "time zone support" in Settings for iCal in case you are in a different time zone than where you originally created an event in iCal. By default this is turned on, and is set to Cupertino - I am located in New York. Hence the oddly timed notifications.
