Ios 6.0.2 shortcuts disabled on iPhone 5

Ever since upgrading to iOS 6.0.2 my shortcuts on my iPhone 5 are not working. I have tried to delete them and reset them with no luck.

Just did a reset and the shortcuts came back to life!

I'm trying to record over some music in the ipod, but I have always to open ipod app directly, instead of using shortcuts with the double home tap, they're disabled. Anyone noticed this?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • After iOS 8 upgrade keyboard shortcuts gone, just reboot

    FYI,
apparently this also happened with the ios7 upgrade. Per the related ios7 thread, after a manual reboot of the phone, the shortcuts reappeared. The reboot solved my problem as my keyboard shortcut settings reappeared after reboot.

I lost all my keyboard shortcuts on my iPhone 5s after upgrading to iOS 8. They still showed up on my iPad Air (iOS 8) and iMac (10.9.5). There were, however, massive sync problems, sometimes they would only flow from one device to all the others, sometimes from one device to only one of the other two, sometimes not at all.
I deleted all my shortcuts and started from scratch, deleting “~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity”, ~/Library/Dictionaries” and “~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~TextInput” from the iMac and KeyboardDomain from my iOS devices.
    Rebooted everything a dozen times.
Toggled Documents & Data Sync off and on a dozen times too in all kinds of combination with rebooting and deleting the aforementioned files.
Everything always starts working and syncing fine for a very short while, but sooner or later one of my devices stops receiving new shortcuts as I re-add them.
I reboot that device and it catches up. I enter new shortcuts, and that device doesn’t get any new shortcuts. This time, a reboot doesn’t fix anything.
After using my devices for a while, I notice shortcuts are entirely gone from both the iPhone and iPad, but not from the iMac.
I even upgraded my iPhone 5s to a 6, and right off the bat it had issues with keyboard shortcut sync. I also setup my iPad as new, and same thing: right off the bat, sync issues with keyboard shortcuts.

  • One User's Story: iOS 7.1 and Battery Life on iPhone 5

I've been reading the messages from folks that have experienced shorter battery life after upgrading to iOS 7.1. It does appear that there is a real problem with some iPhone 5S models. Some of those users are reporting a shorter battery life along with warm iPhones (when the iPhones weren't doing anything) and repeatedly "coming to life" with the lockscreen slider multiple times after being put asleep.
In my case, the day after upgrading to iOS 7.1 I noticed that my iPhone 5 (not 5S) went from about 90% battery to 55% battery overnight--with no apps open. And since iOS 7, I've disabled background app updates, disabled location services for all but about 4 apps, disabled motion, etc. I also tend to never leave any apps open when I'm done for the day. Anyway, during the second night, my phone went from 40% to about 35%. I suspected that iOS 7.1 may have affected the battery calibration but perhaps not the actual life between charges.
I then turned on the phone, set it to not sleep, and let it completely use up the battery charge and to turn itself off. It took a very long time--more evidence of a calibration issue. I then completely charged the phone. Since then, it appears that not only is the battery calibration correct again, but the actual battery life might be a little longer after iOS 7.1. I'm now seeing about an 8% to 10% drop in battery charge overnight which is what I had before iOS 7.1.
I'm not saying that users who are reporting decreased battery life are wrong. I can only report my own experience.

I love all the Tips out there to save Battery life, turn this off turn this down when the bottom line is you shouldnt have to turn anything off or down because those things are why you bought an Apple iPhone, how about Apple fixes there crap right the 1st time instead of ripping us off,
And another thing Apple should reveal there iPhone 6 on what the heck there going to release , whats with all this bullcrap all the time that its a big secret....
Im really getting sick of this Company...

  • After iOS 8 wifi is being disabled automatically on its own. Even after tapping on wifi signal downward notification link, problem is not solved.

After I got updated to iOS 8 on iPhone 5c purchased 3 months back, after I tapped on wifi symbol in notification tab, first there will be a signal on top left corner but when I open safari it showed " there is no network or wifi" with message of "cellular data turned off ". Again I have to open settings and turned off and on wifi to get the signal and connected to network. There is no problem with my wifi signal or network but I don't use cellular data at all. Kindly look into the issue and provide me with a solution. Thank you apple and Tim cook. Rip Steve Jobs.

    I have an iPhone 5C.
iOS 8.0 disabled my Wi-Fi. Actually not just disabled, it made my phone behave as it did not have W-Fi.  I could not re-enable wi-fi.
Restarting my phone or resetting network settings made me no difference.
    Solution:
Power down iPhone for a few minutes
Power-up and Wi-Fi is back again!
After updating to the latest iOS 8.0.2 it disabled my Wi-Fi again. Following the power-down procedure above fixed it.

Try to restart or - if necessary - to restore the iPhone:
See this document:  iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues
Disable your Firewall and Antivirus software - it may be blocking the access to the server. Wait a day, maybe the server is down.

  • Hi I disabled my iphone how do I recover pics

I disabled my iphone on find my iphone app how do I recover my pictures

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If they were in your camera roll, you will need to restore from a back up, if they were in photostream, you need to log into your iCloud account on a computer or iOS device, then you should find them in the photo app.

You can try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/06/24/iphone-dfu-mode-explained-and-how-to-enter-dfu-mo de-on-your-iphone/
Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPhone. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPhone; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken iPhone.
You're on your own from here. We can provide no further help with a jailbroken iPhone in these forums.
    Good luck.

  • I'm traveling abroad and accidentally disabled my iPhone by putting in the wrong PIN number for my foreign sim 6 times. I am not near my computer where I synced the phone to iTunes. Is there any way I can re activate the phone? Free?

PHone disabled while traveling (iPhone 4)

    Hey alizareut,
Thanks for the question. I understand that your iPhone is disabled after incorrectly entering your passcode too many times. To resolve your issue without the use of iTunes, you can use Find my iPhone:
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
    Use Find My iPhone
If you enabled Find My iPhone, you can use it to erase your device.
Go to icloud.com/#find to see if you enabled Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
Select your device and click "Erase [device]" to erase your device and its passcode.
Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup of your device.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

    Tanks

You have to follow the process outlined here to recover contacts from an iCloud backup: Recovering deleted iCloud contacts from an iCloud backup..  Otherwise, as you have noticed, the recovered contacts are overwritten when your device reconnects to iCloud.
