IOS 6.1.3 hav'nt fix wifi greyed issue

i just restore my iphone 4s with the latest ios 6.1.3 but still can't fix the wifi greyed out issue .... why Apple how long should we have to wait ? PLZZZZZZ do something i fed up with my phone .... from ios 5.1.1 i got this issue still not fix in 6.1.3 .... why r u playing with us

Lawrence,
My 4 and 3G never suffered the WiFi disabled issue with any version of iOS they ran (I didn't install 6.x on my 4 yet) and I have yet to see it mentioned about any device older than the 4S, which for the record was released 10/7/2011 (a year, 5 months and 13 days) ago
As regards the WiFi chip overheating, I agree that is possible. Said device uses a BCM4330 for WiFi and BT, vs BCM4329 in the 4. A little searching reveals whilst the 4330 is in use in other non Apple devices, there doesn't seem to be any report of the chip overheating, though there may be other factors in the design and / or the processing load that iOS 6 places upon it that contribute to it doing so.
I doubt the replacement 4S handsets Apple is handing out are in any way different hardware-wise (posts suggest they're just handing out 5.1.1'd 4Ss) so with the same hardware/software combo it's probably just going to happen again when people update to 6. Is it right to say nothing on it and keep selling them?

Yes, have your network person turn off "hidden" or "invisible" on your WiFi router.

  • Have Nokia fixed all the issues with E90?

    Hello all.
I am thinking of buying the Nokia E90. But i want to be sure of something first. I hope that you can help me Thanks.
Have Nokia fixed all the problems now with the E90? The keyboard hitting the screen? The microphone? etc?
How is the build quality of the E90? I had the Nokia N95 but i did not have it for long because of the bad slider. So if there is any clicking or anything when you are using the keyboard outside. Then i dont think it will be a phone for me. If you can press on the side and it will move. Like the slider on the N95 that also said a click sound.
    Thanks.
    From Kehaan - Denmark.

I bought my E90 in South Africa last year and have been over the moon with it. It does everything I can think of and I have loaded stacks of applications on its 2GB card. I use it daily in my work for meeting minutes, calendaring etc and live on the Internet with it...
I fitted screen protectors on it which prevents the inner screen scratching on the keys. Only problem I have had is I tried upgrading the firmware at home from the Internet and it overwrote something it should not have. It rebooted once but did not reboot a second time and Nokia took it in and are reflashing it with the new version for me free of charge (I will probably not try doing this at home again).
Better news is something happened to my phone while they were working on it and they are replacing it with a brand new E90. I cannot wait to get it back and am having major withdrawal symptoms while having to work on my old 9300!

  • IOS 4.3.3 does not fix wifi or GPS issues introduced for me at 4.3.2

Upgraded this morning with great expectation that they'd be a fix for the terrible lack of wifi signal sensitivity that came with 4.3.2 (have to stand next to a router to get the signal!!), and the complete loss of GPS.
No change as far as I can see.  ****!!

No wifi problems but I do confirm a poort GPS signal after upgrading to 4.3.3.

  • When does iOS 8.1x come out to fix wifi?

When can we expect the next software update that actually fixes the wi fi problem?

Whenever it comes out (and previous releases don't necessarily predict anything), you're often better waiting 24-48 hours. There will be less server load meaning the process will go very quickly and is less likely to go badly wrong in the middle. And based on the recent issue with iOS 8.0.1 (admittedly a rare occurrence), you might end up skipping a bad update entirely.  It also give developers time to release any updated that might be needed for immediate compatibility.

  • This is how I fixed wifi greyed out on iPhone 4S

It happened to me during a trip to Finland, wifi could not be switched on any more after iOS7.1 update, it was greyed out in control panel, I was not able to use hotel wifi, ... that cost me some Euros. Later I found, bluetooth also not working.
But at home, after running a factory reset with iTunes with no success, I finally found the fix with google, my wifi is now working again ! Lets see, how long it lasts. Its 2 weeks now.
Solution, and this is not a joke:
-Place the iPhone on a soft towel or so and keep it switched on.
-Heat it slowly with a hair dryer from the side with the earphone plug.
-After a few minutes, it warns "temperature" and turns itself off.
-Let it cool down. You then can switch it on (wifi still not working).
-Reboot now by holding home and on buttons until the Apple logo comes back. Thats it !
My iPhone 4S straight away connected to my home wifi......and still does for a couple of days now. Also some guys in this forum confirmed that trick to work.
I try to help with this, but you do it at your own risk. On my friends iPhone 4 this did not help.
I suspect, that it has something to do with the control panel. The error occured after switching wifi and flight mode from there. Currently I do only use the settings app for that. Can anybody confirm that ?

You can also try calling Apple per the article posted, or go to another Apple Store, but if you wifi is grey and those steps don't fix it, you will need service (replacement).  Sorry, magic wand is out of batteries and pixie dust is depleted.
    Good Luck.

  • IOS 4.3 still did not fix the bluetooth issue

I am still unable to pair up my bluetooth stereo headphones with my iPhone 4. I originally had it paired up back when my iPhone 4 was running 4.0, but ever since iOS 4.2.1, I've been unable to pair up anything with my bluetooth. Does the Apple Corporation even look at these posts? Anybody else having bluetooth issues?

Actually, I would be very surprised to find out that Apple does not read these forums. A smart company would monitor discussion about their products, especially on a sight they sponsor, to gain insight on how to improve their product and or customer service. However, you should always file your complaint through the proper channels. I have had a few minor glitches between my iPhone 4 and my Jawbone Icon but things seem significantly better...so far. It just angers me that Apple has not admitted to any kind of bluetooth connectivity problem. This experience has completely tainted any kind of positive experiences from my iPhone 3G. I'm very likely to try a Droid or Blackberry when I upgrade again.

  • WiFI N issue on iphone 4

    hello
Lost of persons have constated a Wifi connection issue with iDevice on WiFi N mode. This problem involve connection lost or data connection lost event if the iphone already have an ip adress. I've tried in my wifi router different channels, 40 mhz bandiwth mode, 20 bandwith mhz mode. Iphone wifi connection work sometimes but it's a weak connection (good signal, ip adress still connected but no data transit between). So i have to switch the iphone to air mode and back to normal to retrieve a wifi connection working for 10min.
I can't send music via airplay to my airport express too. Air port detected, but send no music on it. Disable WiFi N mode to G mode work perfectly with airplay on AE. Wifi data working a well without any issues. The problem seems last iphone/ipad ios, because lots of poeples have these problem in many different brand wifi router. Some guys said there was no problem on previous iOs version (4.3?).
Hope this bug will be fixed in iOS5 to improve WiFi 802.11 N mode.

HHi I had the same issue my husband went back to using his iPhone 4, I have the iPhone 5 and a iPad and mini. I couldn't set the wifi on his iPhon,
This is what I did and what my be the issue everyone is having.  The iPhone 4 works with a 2.4 ghz radio frequency all the new products work with a 5 ghz. If you change the frequency in your router the IPhone 4 will pick up your wifi. the only problem is that once you change it all your other pproducts will not pick up the wifi connection. I'm going to continue to change the frequency until they all work, will keep you up dated.

Ever since I upgraded from ios 6.1 to 6.1.1 then to 6.1.2 I have had my wifi greyed out and unable to use it. This has been like this for a month now.

  • Wifi Connectivity Issues, how to Downgrade

I am using a 13 inch macbook late 2007 model running snow leopard 10.6.4 My problem is that after waking my macbook from sleep my wifi errors and has the connection timed out or the invalid password when it is correct. My roommates are able to connect to the router perfectly fine and My airport can connect to my home network as well as the campus network. I have tried the various fixes including trashing the system config folder, adding a new location, deleting locations, adding and removing airport, adding and removing preferred network locations, repairing disk permissions. Im sick and tired of trying to find a work around to this problem. I have time machine enabled but I don't want to roll my computer back an entire year just to fix wifi connectivity issues. Is there a way to downgrade without losing my applications, and personal files. No i didn't make a back up before install, I just want a to downgrade to 10.6.3 which I never had connectivity issues, is this possible?

It is managed by apple but no direct responses are from apple, yes i have had problems in the past with arrogance and users showing no respect for "noobs". The genius bar is located 2 hours away and when I do have access im skeptical to leave my macbook with them because i NEED it for school work. But my intentions weren't to be negative but to shed light on a problem. I was being sincere and sometimes the truth is negative; there is most certainly a need because without bringing attention to problems how is anything going to get solved or changed? Also if you reread what i posted it states "Finally a forum where members AREN'T arrogant", meaning that I WASN'T referring to this forum.

  • I have iphone 4 and ios 7. iphone doesn't recognize my wifi at home frequently but my ipads which has old ios have no problem. how can I fix it?

I have iphone 4 and recently updated IOS to 7.0.4. After that, my iphone is keep going into 3G mode at home. I thought it was the problem with my internet or router. But my husband's iphone and our ipads are not having any issues. I turned off and turn it on many times. It eventually get the wifi, but it disconnects few times and it is really frustrating.
Also, it seems to me that the battery is dying quicker. Am I the only person having the issue?
How can I fix the connectivity issue? Or is there any way for me to go back to IOS 6? Some of appes don't work under IOS 7.
    Thank you.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
