Ios 6: Apps no longer displaying on my iPhone 4S

After downloading ios 6, I noticed that certain apps are no longer displayed on my iPhone 4S screen.  I had these apps grouped under 2 different folders and the folders plus the apps were removed from my screen.  I can view the apps under purchased but the only option it gives me is "open".  After I open, I can access the apps, but it does not install the app back on my screen.  It is frustrating because I do not get my notifications and I have to go to the app store to access my previously purchased apps.  Does anyone know how I can get these apps back on my screens?  Please help.  Thanks!

@Briantopp, THANKS so much... I feel a little silly, but am so happy that the solution was that simple.  Thank you so much for responding to my question.  I really appreciate it!!!!!

Why My iPad 3 iOS 6 apps stores can't show the iPhone apps..

Devices connecting to the app store are detected and the appropriate apps are shown for the device...for example, a Mac OS X computer will only display the Mac App Store apps, an iPhone will only display the apps that will work on the iPhone, an iPad will only display the apps that will work on the iPad, and in this case there are apps that work on both the iPad and iPhone so those apps are displayed but not the iPhone-only apps.

  • After upgrading to iOS 5, apps won't start on my iPhone 4 !!

    Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • My facebook app no longer works for my iphone after i sync it to my laptop!

Why does my facebook app no longer works for my iphone after i sync it to my mac book pro?
I added this app for facebook and then i synced it up with my mac book pro, but afterwards it lost the app, and I can't download it anymore... why is that?
And how do I manage to put it back on my iphone?

    Hello hersheygirle,
    Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
Re-download the Facebook APP on your computer and then sync it to the iPhone.
Make sure your computer is logged into the same iTunes ID that shows up on your iPhone when you try to download an APP on the iPhone.

  • Apps no longer working on Original iPhone...

    Acckk!
As each new upgrade happens some of my apps no longer work and there is no access to older versions of these apps.
Scanforlife, on this day, etc. now refuse to load on to the phone. Have had issues with AOL Radio which no longer works and was on my main screen, but had to take it off as it wasn't working.
Appears that one way or another our original iphones are truly being set out to pasture.

Do you have backups of your hard disc/library to restore the original Apps (ips files) after deleting the updated ones ?

  • Photos app no longer displays transparent areas of photo properly. How to fix?

Hi whenever I download images to my ipad with transparent backgrounds (for use with Photoshop for example), the ipad used to display the transparent area properly as white. Then when you tapped, it would display them as black. For some reason, it now just defaults to displaying them as black. Which is fine if you have something white in color, but anything black disappears and there is no way to view it. Is this a bug? Any way I can fix this?

Let's assume you are in your camera roll. Now do the following:
    1. Click on the home button once to get out of the camera roll
    2. Double click on the home button. (Now you should see a number of icons on the bottom of the screen. These are the applications that are currently open).
    3. Scroll sideways until you see the "Photo" app.
    4. Tap and hold the Photo icon until it jiggles and there is a red "close" button on it.
    5. Tap that red button and you'll see the icon disappear.
    6. Click the home button once to get back to your desktop.
Now you have successfully closed the app and opening it anew will get rid of your problem.

  • Apps no longer downloading on iTunes, iPhone or iPad

I cannot update any apps on iTunes, iPhone or iPad. On iTunes, I get the error "There were problems downloading some purchased items." then there is a drop down stating that 6 apps had problems.
On both the iPhone and the iPad I get the same error and have been getting it for about a month now.  The error is that some apps are not available to download now. Try again later.
Are theri people getting these errors? I have tried about everything and cannot seem to resolve this problem.

I had to go to my hotmail account (on my laptop) and change my password.  It's requesting that I do that every 72 days.  My mail app and settings on my 4s keeps shutting down.  Even with that, it was still asking for my hotmail password.  I entered my new one and it does not ask me for a password any longer.  I think that Outlook was asking everyone to reset their passwords after  the update.  Now, if I could just get my mail app or settings to work for any of my other email addresses, that would be fantastic!

  • I have ios 5.1.1. When I sync to iTunes, my purchased apps no longer work. They blink but do not open. The only way I have been able to solve this, is as follows: I delete one of the apps and then re-download and install it. Then, all my apps work.

My new iPod touch 64 Gig has a problem after syncing with iTunes. My purchased apps no longer work. I touch them and they seem to try to open but they do not.
The only way I have found to fix this is as follows:
I delete one of the purchased apps. Then I go to the App Store and re-download and install the same app. After that, all my apps work again.
    Please help.

Download/install an app is a know possible solution.
    3. Install another app from the App Store
If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.
Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.

  • IPad app no long works after upgrading to iOS 7.1.1

iPad app no long works after upgrading to iOS 7.1.1

Did you try deleting then reinstalling the app?  Sometimes developers will need to update their apps for compatibility.  If it still doesn't work after reinstalling, wait a few days to see if an app update becomes available.

  • I updated to iOS 7 and now some of my apps won't display in landscape mode and they did before the update. Any ideas on how to fix it?

This could be from having restrictions enabled. Icons completely disappear when "restricted"

  • My apps no longer remember which display to open on.

My apps no longer remember which display to open on. With Mountain Lion, once a window was set up on a particular display and the app was quitted, when reopening, it would be on the same display. Now they all seem to default to the primary display.

I'm having the exact same problem. Another bug I've noticed, mostly with Apple Mail, is that when you close the window (not quit), and open it again, it will shift positions down the screen repeatedly until it hits the bottom right of the screen. Almost like when you open a lot of documents in an app and they stagger.
Hmmm; that's interesting...I haven't noticed that on my system, but I'll keep an eye out for that as well.

  • IWork apps no longer sync with iCloud. I am on iOS 5.1,1, and this problem is several days old, before it was working fine. Anyone has an idea?

iWork apps no longer sync with iCloud. I am on iOS 5.1,1, and this problem is several days old, before it was working fine. Anyone has an idea?

Sadly this is not a new problem and I would not expect a forthcoming solution.  I bought an iPad 3G and the iWork suite at the end of August and iCloud syncing worked fine.  About the time Apple rolled out iOS 6 the syncing stopped working for me (without me upgrading or changing anything).  It has never really worked since.   Run iOS 5.1.1 on both the iPhone 4 and iPad 3G.  The "geniuses" claim that Apples iOS 5 requirement is not correct and that I MUST upgrade both to ios 6 (although I know for fact that lots of folks STILL have the iCloud probs even with its 6.  The last genius basically shrugged and non-verbally acknowledged the iCloud/iWork failing and suggested "just use Dropbox.". So why the **** did we pay for iWork!?!?!
Basically the  iwork/iCloud Connnection is broken and I have yet to get a viable solution to repair the issue.  Sorry for the bad news.  For reference I have uninstalled/installed each iteration of iWork upgrades on each device without success.  I have reset all settings multiple times, turned iCloud off/on repeatedly etc etc without success.  I even wiped the iPad and restored from iCloud w/o intention (another Apple IPad "glitch" when I tried the "reset all settings" and the iPad decided to "erase all" instead.  The genius said "it happens.")
Oddly, the Pages app is the only one that has marginally worked at times since the first probs.  However it is basically broken and non-functioning.  Certainly DO NOT trust vital documents to iCloud/iWork.  I lost a number of work critical docs in this whole annoying, messy process of trying to get what Apple promised as easy....

Since the ios 5 update--bluetooth longer funcioning on ipod touch.  iPad no longer syncing with keynote remote app on ipod touch.  My iPad no longer sees the iPod touch.  The Bluetooth indicator does not come on or flash on the ipod touch.

I've got a fix, even for  those who don't have hotspot (like me) who want to get the ipad and iphone talking over bluetooth again.
First, I should say that I said when I got my 4s, the problem was solved. It was not. I was just connecting via wifi, but I wanted bluetooth back.
Here is how I got it back without hotspot.
    1. Launch keynote on one device and the remote on the other as you normall would.
    2. Find another app that bluetooth links ipad and iphone (I used 'pictransfer light'). Install on both devices and launch on both devices. Follow the promt to get a bluetooth sync.
    3. Double push the home button both devices to pull up the multi-tasking and open keynote and keynote remote on the relevant devices.
    4. In keynote, go to settings; advances; remote. You should now be able to get the remote to link (you may, on the device running the remote, need to hit settings and then 'new keynote link'.
Once I launched pictransfer, the bluetooth logo was blue on both devices the whole time I ran through the other steps. I suspect that that was also the point of using the hotspot service.
Also noteworthy: I am yet to try this 'in the field'. For all I know, this won't keep a connection for as long as one might need. I'll find out on Thursday when I rely on the remote for 90min. On the positive side, I was able to keep the connection even when I double clicked home and closed pictransfer while leaving keynote and keynote remote open...
This work-around worked -- I found that as long as I launched the "Pictransfer for iPad Lite" app just before the presentation that it seemed to work fine.  However, if Bluetooth gets turned off or you disconnect I think you will have to repeat the work-around -- nice find.
Apple really needs to fix this.  They even have a posted document describing how to link two devices by Bluetooth and the truth is that it just does not work as they say.  They need to add whatever code into the Keynote & Keynote Remote apps to initiate bluetooth to connect the devices.  It's fine if it prefers WiFi, but it should give you the bluetooth option as well.

The iTunes Store listing of your podcast is simply reflecting the contents of your podcast feed. Make sure all of the content you want displayed in the iTunes Store is still contained within your feed.
Are you able to supply your feed for reference?
