IOS 6 Bluetooth Connectivity

Having just bought the iphone 5 i have tried to pair the bluetooth with my car (2008 Ford Mondeo).  It will find 'Ford Audio' but will not pair. I get the error message saying that i should ensure i am close to the device and that it is switched on.  I never had this on the iPhone 4S running ios 5 but since ios 6 was released it does not work on either a 4S running ios 6 or an iphone 5.

I have exactly the same issue in a 07 cmax, with the sony stero and this has no usb connection for the ford audio update.  Any suggestions?

  • IOS 8 Bluetooth Connectivity - iPhone 5 and iPhone 6

Moved my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and Bluetooth will no longer work correctly in my Honda 2010 Accord.  Phone connects to the car but when you try to initiate a call it doesn't come through the car speakers.  The call is transferred back to the phone and will not go through the car stereo. Same issue with my new iPhone 6 so I think it's an iOS issue.  There was no problem with iOS 7

  • 8.2 update and bluetooth connections.

I updated to 8.2 and my bluetooth connections have been horrible ever since. I have to reconnect in my vehicle every time I restart the vehicle. I have to reconnect to my Bose sound dock every morning. In the past, these connected automatically almost without fail. Anyone else having these issues?

    Greetings rwoff,
It appears you are experiencing bluetooth issues with multiple devices. That does sound troublesome. I have linked to an article which may help you find a solution:
iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections - Apple Support
If your device is still experiencing issues
If the steps above have not resolved the Bluetooth behavior you are experiencing, perform a software restore in iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your iOS device in iTunes, contact Apple for support and service options.

  • My Bluetooth was working a week ago but it doesn't show up or connect in my bluetooth list it just says still searching for devices, why won't my bluetooth connect or pair again?

The bluetooth showed up in the bluetooth list last week & now it won't even connect to the phone when i turn the bluetooth on to start pairing it just says Searching.

    Hey there Kaitlyn Turner,
It sounds like your bluetooth is not functioning correctly on the iPhone. I recommend the troubleshooting in this article for the issue you are seeing named:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4562
Check that you are in range of the Bluetooth accessory with which you are trying to pair your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Most Bluetooth accessories have a range of approximately 30 feet.
On your iOS device, tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your device in the list. If your device says Not Connected, tap the name of your accessory to attempt to connect it.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and then on again.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is turned on and fully charged or connected to power.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is in pairing mode.1
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and locate the Bluetooth accessory you are currently connected to or attempting to connect to. Then tap and Forget this Device. Try to pair your Bluetooth accessory again.
Note: You may need to re-enter your Bluetooth accessory PIN if your accessory requires one. Some common PINs are 0000, 1111, and 1234.
Restart your Bluetooth accessory by turning it off and then on again1.
Update your device to the latest version of software. See how to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If your Bluetooth accessory has upgradable firmware, check to see that you have the latest version1, 2.
And this troublehsooting from down the bottom if needed:
Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find
Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory.
Position your iOS device and Bluetooth accessory in direct line of sight of each other. For example, move the Bluetooth accessory and iOS device to the same side of your body.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if performance improves.
Check for sources of potential interference and move both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory away from other electronic devices.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
If your device is still experiencing issues
If the steps above have not resolved the Bluetooth behavior you are experiencing, perform a software restore in iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your iOS device in iTunes, contact Apple for support and service options.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Bluetooth connects but will not pair to device

Iphone 5 running on 7.1.2. bluetooth connects to CAR KIT but will not pair (does not ask for code after connecting). audio only plays from phone and not through the speakers connected by bluetooth. I have done the apple trouble solution steps and the problem still persists. any help would be appreciated. the device is compatible with iPhone.

    Hey there jrf07d,
It sounds like your phone is not pairing to your vehicles bluetooth connection. I would recommend these steps to get it paired, from the following article:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4562
On your iOS device, tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your device in the list. If your device says Not Connected, tap the name of your accessory to attempt to connect it.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and then on again.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and locate the Bluetooth accessory you are currently connected to or attempting to connect to. Then tap and "Forget this Device". Try to pair your Bluetooth accessory again.
You may need to your Bluetooth accessory PIN again if your accessory requires one.
Can't pair to a Bluetooth accessory
If you see the word "Connected" next to a Bluetooth accessory in Settings > Bluetooth, your iOS device is already paired to a Bluetooth accessory. Remember, you can only connect to one Bluetooth accessory at a time.
If your Bluetooth accessory requires a PIN for pairing, be sure that you are entering the correct PIN1.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Bluetooth connection fails iOS 8.1

My iPhone5s cannot make a Bluetooth connectivity with any of my Macs(MBA mid-2013, iMac late-2012, MacPro) all running Yosemite 10.10. Prior to upgrading to Yosemite the same iPhone running on iOS 7 did make successful bluetooth connectivity. My iPhone5s is on 8.1. Surprising even though it cannot have connectivity, it sees and stay connected for a second or two and then will say "Not Connected". But the same phone connects with Blueant S4 handsfree Speakerphone - except that I have to make a connection each time. In the past, it used to connect automatically when I was in the range of my device.
Yes, I have tried reset PRAM, SMC resets on my Macs, powered OFF and ON my iPhone5s and even reset my NW connection. In addition, I have other iPhones in my family and none can make connection to Macs which run on Yosemite(tried 4s, 5 and even 6). But the same iPhones make successful BT on Macs running Mavericks and Mountain Lion(yes one MBP still exists). So I am guessing it is changes in Yosemite that is causing the problem. Because I am going through this problem - my family members who have Macs do not want to upgrade to Yosemite as they depend on BT connectivity for their external devices. I don't blame them, but sounds very silly to me that Apple messed up big time with BT connectivity. I see many reporting similar issues, but for many resetting PRAM and/or SMC they have been successful.
Any help would be appreciated. Again I am not referring to Handoff (which it is working for me) but I am interested in BT connectivity with Yosemite. This is important because external BT devices need to be connected(Headphones, Earbuds etc).

I went to the Apple store yesterday because I was having the same issue in my Honda Accord after I updated to iOS 8.1.1.  The very helpful rep there suggested that I go to Settings -> General -> Reset on my phone to reset my iPhone 5 General Settings.  She said that it's like an oil change for the phone that cleans out a lot of the junk.  After doing this, I was able to stream both my music and Pandora in my car again.
Note:  When you reset the General Settings, you will lose your phone password and background image (not a big deal).  You will NOT lose your pictures, video or emails.
    Hope that helps!

  • Ios 5.0.1 + Iphone 4 bluetooth connection issue with car stereo

My Iphone 4 will not connect with my new JVC car stereo I have spoken to JVC customer support and they say its an Apple issue that they need to fix (changed something with the bluetooth connection scripts in the latest update update, as they have done before).
The phone finds the stereo and then tries to pair with it, however half way through the pairing process the phone losses connection with the stereo and the pairing is then deleted.
I have deleted all the existing pairing in the phone memory and ensured that the stereo has been rebooted to ensure no conflict of previous installs would effect the process
Does anyone know if Apple are going to fix this glitch in a new softwre update (and if so when is it being released) as at the minute i have an expensive stereo which is cant use to its full ability?

Similar problems occured when Apple released iOS 4 last year. It was NOT fixed with an update from Apple. It was fixed by the system vendors and automakers releasing updates for their equipment. There are ongoing complaints from people with some Toyota built cars (Toyota and Lexus) with some systems as well as some BMW drivers.
I'm willing to bet money that the head unit you have is not fully standards compliant. Unfortunately, getting JVC to admit that is going to be nearly impossible. I suspect they will just quietly issue an update sometime in the next few months. Assuming the head unit can be updated by the end user at all.  You may have to resort to an inexpensive visor mount speaker phone in the mean-time.

  • I have installed the new iOS 5 on my Iphone 3GS and my bluetooth connection doesn't work anymore. Does anybody have a solution?

I have installed the new iOS 5 on my Iphone 3GS and my bluetooth connection for my Philips bluetooth headset doesn't work anymore. Does anybody have a solution?
I have checked the headset on another Iphone with iOS 4 and it works well.
    Thanks for your help!
    Pierre (from Paris - France)

    Bonjour Pierre,
there seems to be a bug in iOS5 with regards to Bluetooth. THere are a lot of threads in here on this. We're all waiting for Apple to fix this...

  • After Install IOS 8 and 8.0.2, the Ipad audio was distorted, and the bluetooth connection to audio speaker have wheezing.

After Install IOS 8 and 8.0.2, the Ipad audio was distorted, and the bluetooth connection to audio speaker have wheezing.

I ALSO just updated my brand new iphone 6 to 8.0.2, and I ALSO had my cellular service BRICKED.
All I get on the signal meter is Verizon 1x.  Every so often 3G would popup and you could send a text (no calls though) but it's gone in seconds. So  I can't send texts or make phone calls.
This phone worked immediately before the update and stopped working immediately after the update.
My neighbor has a iphone 5S. He updated to 8.0.2 lat week and had no problems UNTIL just this morning, when his phone stopped working - no cellular voice or data. He downgraded back to ios 8.0 but his cellular service never came back.
Called verizon - was told there were no service outages and then I got transferred to tech team.
Tech team had do all the Apple troubleshooting steps but nothing more. So they said "take it back."
So this BRAND NEW iPhone 6 phone is BRICKED because of iOS 8.0.2.
    Thanks Apple!

  • IOS 8.1.2 car bluetooth connection

I have lost the Bluetooth connectivity in my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe since I updated my phone to iOS 8.1.2.  I have tried to reset car Bluetooth features as well as on my phone.  Nothing seems to work.  Is anyone else having issues and are there any solutions?
    tx

Similar to VroomVroom:  I have iphone 5s, was on iOS7, went to iOS 8.1.2, and I didn't notice that I had lost a specific bluetooth connection: Garmin Smartlink - Live Traffic App.  The Garmin Smartlink uses bluetooth to connect to the aftermarket Kenwood DNX891HD I have in my car, this comes with a Navigation GPS included.  The Garmin Smartlink app (Live Traffic) provides immediate traffic updates if your city is covered, and my city Cincinati OH is covered.  This was all working fine before I upgraded the iOS on the iphone 5S.  I read another article related to "carkit" connections between iphones and car stereos (for both NAV and also hands-free) - here is the key point and my theory: Only ONE bluetooth connection can be supported at a time.  In my case - the hands-free telephone (thru car microphone and car stereo speakers) works fine, and I believe this is also "shared" by Pandora App (from iphone to Kenwood).  So, my theory is the iphone will not connect to the Kenwood for the Nav, since it is already connected to the Kenwood for the audio (Pandora and hands-free, I think these two "share" the same bluetooth connection, and I think the Smartlink connection is separate).  I messed around this morning in the parking lot at work, and my attempts to "forget" and "pair" the iphone and Kenwood would continously start playing Pandora, but the Smartlink still will not connect (when it dis work, I would see a green circle with two cars on my Nav map screen, indicating the smartlink connection and also status of the traffic).  My next test this afternoon will be to delete Pandora app on the phone, try forget / pair again and see if I can get Smartlink to work.  If this works, I'll reinstall Pandora App and try to get it back as well.  My past 24 hours of skimming articles (don't ya love the internet !) seems to indicate that I am not the only person with bluetooth problems due to the iOS 8.1.2 update....hey Apple...where's 8.1.3 to fix this ?

  • Bluetooth connection ipad ios 8.1 with imac os x 10.6

I have an iMac running OS X 10.6.8 snow leopard and an iPad that I have just upgraded to iOS 8.1.
Previously I have been able to sync the 2 through bluetooth with iTunes (the computer does not support iCloud).  Since upgrading my iPad this month the bluetooth connection no longer works.
My ipad gives me the message that my iMac 'is not supported'.
    Can anyone help?

IOS 8.1 and Yosemite are apparently all about the cloud ...
You may find some help by going to the web page ASK.Com  and keying in the following query
    Bluetooth devices slowing Yosemite
It brings up some articles and other support sites the mention issues with Blue Tooth  (you may want to change Yosemite to IOS 8 and see what happens.
(I don't care for google etc.  Ask.com always brings up a better set of sites.)
