IOS 6 fails to install

iOS 6 fails to install when:
-Downloading & installing from the iPad itself (using 3 different WIFI connections on fully different ISP's)
-Downloading & installing from iTunes on 5 different PC's! (2x Windows PC's ; 3x Mac's)
-Using iTunes to perform a Restore FAILS! How ridiculous!!!
By the way this is a BRAND NEW iPad 3 out of the box! Before anyone asks, it was NEVER jailbroken.
I have come to the conclusion to blame Apple, Inc. for a corrupted download. Fix it now, or I will quickly return. Thank you!
Way to #fail apple!

I am also having this problem with my ipad 3. It's not brand new, but like you said I don't think it has to do with my ipad. The download doesn't even complete. neither to my ipad or even through itunes. I even tried downloading it directly from osx daily and installing it manually (much easier than it sounds) but no go. Said my firmware was not compatible.
Boo.

We aren't Apple, just users like you. Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

    Hi Willy,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article below provides information about specific update and restore alerts, including the 9006 alert that you saw when attempting to update your iPad 2 to iOS 8.1. Try using the instructions provided to see if the issue is caused by a conflict with the security software on your computer.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
    I hope this helps,

  • IOS Application "Failed to Install" -- Air 3.0

I'm having the hardest time getting iOS applications to install on my iPhone.  Every time I build my application it trys to install it on the device before coming back to say 'failed to install' on the phone.
I tried pulling out all the code related issues and started a brand new Hello World project with one label in it.  I managed to get that to install once, but then it failed after that every single time.
NOTE: I'm running this on a windows machine, as I don't have funding to purchase a mac box
    Here's the steps I took:
    1. Got a cert request from OpenSSL
    2. Uploaded the request to the provisioning portal
    3. Downloaded the actual cert
    4. Used OpenSSL to convert the cert to a .PEM
    5. Used OpenSSL to convert the .PEM to a .P12
    6. Added my device UDID to the provisioning portal
    7. Added my application id to the provisioning portal
    8. Got a provisioning file for that setup
    9. Built my application using the provisioning file and cert
    10. Copied the provisioning file to iTunes
    11. Copied the application to iTunes
    12. Synced the phone, it tries to install, and then the phone states 'HelloWorld failed to install' and removes the icon from the desktop
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here.  I'm going to try using my coworkers mac to build a cert on his machine instead and utilize that but I doubt that will resolve the issue.
I haven't touched anything in the application descriptor at all, except for setting the applicationId to my application profile on the provisioning portal (as it won't build without that)

    Hey Neo,
I believe I've been having the same problem as this, I even created my own thread not having found this one.
I very much did have my resources folder directly under source but have now moved it to be on the same level as source
    i.e.
    Project
    - src
    - resources
    instead of
    Protect
    - src
       - resources
But it's still have the Failed to Install problem. Is my project structure still incorrect with this or do I have to start another project and do it all again? It almost seems as doing it once corrupts the entire project.
    Thanks

  • IOS Simulator failed to install the application

I just installed OS X Mavericks then downloaded XCODE. Just to test it, I created a Single View Controller application. I went to the storyboard and added a label just so I could see something come up when I would run the app. I did not add any code. I ran the app which builds fine, but I then get a IOS Simulator failed to install the application. Rememer, this is a clean install of Mavericks, a clean install of XCODE and the first app created. I repeated this for a Master-Detail application and get the same result. I did not change any settings in XCODE from that which is installed by default. Just wanted to go through a build and run to verify things before I start writing a real app.
I checked the forums which talk about telling the IOS Simulator to Reset Content and Settings. This does not resolve it. I get a black simulator screen. There was other talk about removing a file: ~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator
but that file does not exist. The forums also talk about building IOS 6 apps and then having a problem after building for IOS 7. But again, no default parameters were changed and it is building an IOS 7 app for the first time and has only been generating IOS 7 apps.
Any ideas why the simulator won't load any of the simple apps?

Since everything else I tried had failed, I uninstalled XCODE, reset the Mac then re-installed XCODE and the apps all started loading properly into the simulator. After I installed OS X Mavericks the first thing I did was install XCODE and made no configuration changes to it. Yet I had the issue reported. But now with reloading XCODE all seems fine.

    Hi EarlT,
If you are having issues updating iOS on your iPhone over the air, you may want to try updating it directly from iTunes. You may find the following article helpful:

  • IOS app fails to install on iPod touch using flash professional cs5.5

I am having trouble testing apps on my 3rd generation iPod touch. The very first app I tried to put on there worked, the app was called mynewapp. Then I tried to put another app on there using the same provisional profile and same app id, the app failed to install. It didn’t matter if mynewapp was on my iPod touch or not. No matter what app I tried to put on my iPod touch they all failed to install, the only one I could get on there was mynewapp. I even created an app with the exact same code as mynewapp and this new app failed to install.
Then I created a new provisional profile using the same app id that my first profile was using. I tried putting an app using the new provisional profile this app failed to install for the second time. The first time it was using the old profile.
Then I created a new provisional profile with a new app id and I took an app and tied it to this new profile and app id this app seemed to install on the iPod touch. Right now only two apps can be installed on my iPod touch each app is using a different profile and app id. If I were to copy one of these apps and use the copy that was just created to replace the old version on my iPod touch the app would failed to install.
I have spent over a week trying just about everything to fix this problem. I remember reading that multiple apps can have the same app id.
I’m using a windows 7 64 bit computer with flash professional 5.5. Furthermore iTunes, Flash pro, AIR and my iPod touch are all up-to-date.
    What could be the problem?
I’m sorry if this seems so long it is just I have tried many different things.

As Colin says make sure your device is still supported by the newer AIR.
Here's a page which you can check
    http://www.adobe.com/products/air/tech-specs.html
Adobe stopped supporting older devices (after AIR 2.5 i think), so you can either re compile it with the older AIR or else move onto a newer device. Had the same issue with an iPhone 3g which no longer works.

  • Failed to Install in iOS

I'm trying to run and/or debug the app I'm working on on my iPhone. I've gone through the process of getting the certificate and provisioning file and all appears to be well with both files. After setting up the run configuration Flex built the app and created the .ipa file in the bin-debug folder. I added the provisioning file and the app to iTunes and synced with my phone. In iTunes, the sync appears to work flawlessly but when watching the phone, the app almost completes installation then disappears and the error "app-name Failed To Install" pops up.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
    Scott

Looking at this thread today because just had a similar issue.
We have an iPad eBook, and we thought we'd whack it onto an iPhone to see what it looks like on that.  We'd like to release onto iPhone, but will need to make some changes.  Would be nice to see what it looks like on the phone as-is so that we know how much we're going to have to change.
So the steps I took were:
    1) Set device type to iPhone under publish settings.
    2) Rebuilt app.
    3) Plugged iPhone into my PC.
    4) Tried to put app onto iPhone but no luck because it's a different iTunes account (it's my friend's phone) and syncing would remove all his apps and put on all my apps. Thinking about it now, perhaps we could have logged in with his account?
    5) So we plugged the iPhone into his Mac laptop and copied .ipa file over to his desktop.  I dragged it into his itunes, so far so good.
    6) But then we clicked it in iTunes (so it's checkbox is selected) and then did a sync.  It started to install, and then came up with a dialog box on the iPhone saying "AppName failed to install."
We tried this a few times but no luck.
Now, I'm guess that I should have built a new provisioning profile with that device listed as one of the authorised devices?
If so, every time you want to try on a new device, you have to do the whole provisioning certificate thing again and rebuild the app against the new certificate/profile?  This seems like a lot of work.
Also, some people have mentioned installing the provisioning profile on the device, how would one go about doing that?

  • Ipad2 ios 7.02 update fails to install?

Hi all. Tried installing ios7.02, but it fails to install. The ipad downloads the update and reboots to apply it. The progress bar gets approx 10% through, then stops. About 2 or so minutes later the ipad reboots but the update has not applied. It seems like a timeout is reached?
Have attempted this 4 times with same result each time.
    Iphone4 updated fine.
Any suggestions, or anyone else struck this on ipad 2, wifi, 64GB.
    Thanks.

iPad2 update to ios7.02 after hitting the button and downloading and installing it crashed with Unknown error (-1). Disappered from iTunes. I quitted and started iTunes and it said factory restore mode or cancel. Great options, really...
I did the factory restore. The iPad started, I hit the restore from backup, it started again, some settings (as for a brand new machine, ...). First look - awful new icons but who cares for that.
Now I'm waiting for the apps to get loaded and I do have kids and they use a lot of them (like 179 or so).
I could imagine what a crisis this evening will be because the Asphalt 8 cars will start from scratch and my son opened the 4th season last night... and that is if it actually works.
I already see that the other game they love is no longer working - a Montessori board with numbers and I paid for it... And my guess is a lot of other things are going to be in that state.
My iPhone won't be updated soon - sorry Apple.
Now instead of doing useful things I'm dedicating my time for the next couple of days to recovering what you've messed  and my kids will just cry for every thing that is not working. I just wish you were in my shoes listening to those screams.

As the title says, i have just purchased and downloaded FIFA 13 v1.0.3 and tried to install it on my iphone 4 via Itunes sync. However, I always get the error message "FIFA 13 failed to install" on my phone. I have tried to install after ON/OFF my iphone but to no avail. Additionally, I have 3GB of storage free, therefore space shouldn't be a problem, as the game only requires 1.36 GB of space. What is the problem here? I am clueless now and will appreciate any help from anyone!
