IOS 6 iTunes and Appstore using IP Geolocation
So, I took the plunge and upgraded my iPad 3 to iOS 6 today and have found an interesting 'feature' that Apple have decided to drop in there. Basically, when i use my iPad at home, or at work, i connect to my company network which happens to host its Internet connection in the Netherlands whereas I live in the UK. I've never had a problem with thus before on my iOS devices but iOS 6 is clearly trying to be too clever and now happily displays my iTunes and Appstore content in Dutch - very, very unhelpful. I have a legitimate UK iPad, iTunes account etc. but clearly somebody decided they know better and that they believe Geolocation tracing by IP is accurate. Well, it's not and I'm hoping there is a way to disable this, although suspect there isnt't.

Well, I actually managed to get to the bottom of this and dispite my initial post, it turns out that this was in part user error!
When I downloaded and upgraded my iPad, my MBP was connected to my corporate network which has its Internet connect in Amsterdam. So, and I'm making an assumption here, I think somewhere along the line, Apple decided that I was located in Amsterdam and therefore signed me in to the Dutch AppStore and iTunes. So, I logged out of iTunes on my iPad and then re-logged in, ensuring that I was connected to a UK-based Internet service and everything re-sync'd with the right store and life is good again.
The maps are still truly, truly awful; satllite imagery is roughly the same quality that Google had when they started with Google Earth, and, for some reason, there are no road designations apart from road name i.e. we know a road as the A123 and the new maps app shows it as 'High Street'. Not helpful. Still, at least I can still buy stuff now in my own language!

Yes, you can download iTunes for Windows using Parallels. If planning on making purchases here and/or authorizing already purchased tracks (from your Mac iTunes library), you are permitted to authorize five (5) computers as per iTunes Store terms of use, regardless of computing platform. No need to create a separate new iTunes Store account.
However, judging from what you would like to do, your best bet would be to convert the WMAs to AAC/MP3 in iTunes-Windows (iTunes-Mac cannot import WMA files), and drag the files from the Parallels window to your desktop to add to the iTunes-Mac library. (as the iPod itself is currently linked to your iTunes-Mac library)

I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

I have a iphone 4s with ios 8.3 and I used to be able to sync only a week or two of emails from outlook email. Now it won't let me do that and it syncs all my inbox. How can I change it back to sync less. I can't find the right place.
I understand, as that was the place I would change it before 8.3 but now that option of Mail Days to Sync is not available? Any idea why that would be?

Select the Inbox folder to see emails.
click on first email to get focus.
Hold down 'Ctrl' key and press 'A' key
This will highlight /select all emails.
they will appear as conversations in the Message Pane
Clickon Delete.
when it has finished - you do have a lot of emails :)
Right click on Inbox and select 'compact' - this removes all marked as deleted emails. -
i tried to install an update of my ios via itunes and my phone was totally cleared. right now im trying to activate it again, its not working. what can i do?
You will need to restore the software via the following procedure:
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings. -
I have home videos in iCloud. How do I view them on iPad? Tech said to load iTunes and view using that but there is no itunes for ipad.

Can I logoff from my iTunes and login using my family share id, download the apps that I want that were previously purchased before I linked family sharing with my unique Apple id, logout, and log back in with my Apple ID to have access to the apps?
If you transfer any iTunes content to the iPhone from an iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first with a warning message provided indicating this beforehand.
Authorize the different computer with your Apple ID with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, right click on the iPhone under Devices in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Transfer Purchases. This will transfer all apps on your iPhone to the iTunes library. -
Is there a problem with Apple on iTune and Appstore?
It doesn't seem iTune and Appstore loading properly from my Macbook Air and Pro (both are on 10.9.2).

The issue was somehow the connection between my wireless ADSL router and apple app store, itune. For example, the app store could be loaded but some apps missing pictures (similar to iTunes loaded) on my macbook air,pro and windows laptop. When I tried to download those apps with missing pictures (not fully loaded), said "unknown errors". All other internect connects seemed running as usual. That was why I thought it might be problems with Apple's server side etc.
I restarted the router and then problems resolved. App store and iTune runs as normal...wondering if Apple would have monitored any abnormal connections from end user and then blocks those? -

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How can I re-download the iTunes and AppStore apps?
Hi & sorry to butt in it's just that I've got a similar problem with my iPhone4S, only my Restrictions are set to "OFF!" with a pass code barring & cannot remember password to turn them "ON" I can't afford to start my iPhone to an afresh state because my contacts etc are a valued part of my own run business,I would rather have "no Apps" than "no contacts" Please could u tell me...if I try your theory of: Settings > General > Reset Home Screen Layout...Would this return my Apps badge or not? or would I risk losing something else by doing so? Thats if any of the above options are at all possible with the restriction settings & forgotten code my iPhone possesses

This suddenly happened overnight and you haven't touched your devices since you last saw the apps, or have you been doing things that might indicate a cause for this?
If you really haven't done anything at all and these are old, old apps and they were withdrawn by the distributors then perhaps they are gone (which is why you need to make your own backup of everything you buy and not rely upon it always being on the Apple site). -
IOS 7 change iTunes and AppStore password input request.
On iOS 6.1 I was able to change the frequency of how often iTunes and the AppStore requested my password. I had it set to "ask me every time". I would like to change it so it would be once every 15 mins. Yet I cannot find it in iOS 7. Any help or solutions?
Ok so I figured it out. Go to General>Restrictions>Require passcode>15 minutes
