IOS 6 Maps Clear History
Does anyone know how to remove the search history in the new iOS 6 Maps? I have a iPhone 4S and don't like how there is no easy way to clear history.

The thread that you have posted to is 2 years old, and relating to a different iOS. To remove maps history now in iOS 8.1.2, you need to click into the search bar, then when the next screen pops up, click on Favorites. From there, look at the bottom of the screen and click on the Recents link. Then you can see your Recents list. In the upper left of the screen, click on Clear, then at the bottom click on Clear All Recents...........Done.

is this just me or anyone else?this actually happens if you close your tabs still. It shows you what you were looking at even AFTER you cleared your history!

I can not view ANY videos on Vimeo, I have 'reset' the Ipad, original IOS 5, cleared the history and cookies, I haves changed the DNs number to 8.8.8.8, I have worked on this for 3 days now, HELP!!!!
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

I upgraded my iphone to os 7 two days ago. However, now it cant accept cookies at all. I have set field 'block cookies' to never or from third parties. I have cleared history and cookies, then reboot my iphone. I have tries to force close all applications. Still, cant accept cookies. Please help...
Make sure you have the latest iTunes version installed and hopefully you have the most recent backup of your iPhone. Do a DFU restore. While it's plugged in to your computer, press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons together until the screen is off. When the screen's off, release only the Sleep/Wake button and keep holding down the Home button. Wait until you see in iTunes on your computer to show that it detected it in recovery mode. When it does, proceed with the restore. It will be restored and updated to the latest iOS 7.0.2. If you have a backup, restore from that backup once iOS 7.0.2 is successfully installed on your iPhone.
If your iPhone still won't activate, I agree with gail, you will have to get in touch with that developer. -

If a button isn't responding correctly in Safari, you may want to try forcing it to close and then relaunch it. You may find the following article helpful:

My 'clear history button is not working. When I click on it it doesn't do anything and the letters are gray instead of blue like usual. I've gone to every type of settings I can think of but I don't know how to fix it. Please help .

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

I cannot clear history without clearing cookies with Safari 8.0
I have the new Safari 8.0 with OS X Yosemite. I can not clear history without also clearing cookies. With Maverick it was possible to clear history and keep cookies, not now. This is NOT an improvement! Is there a way to keep cookies and clear history?
this is absolutely the worst period of apple I've ever experienced. and I've worked with them since apple iic.
iOS 8 made my working phone a wreck, and then they take down the option to (downgrade) fix it.
yosemite has left with me a computer that cannot do anything. bluetooth is broken and causes audio delay.
there is constant video delay cause of system wide slow down. my system cache is overflowing constantly
since upgrading, i am continously throwing away trash just to keep the system working.
no mail notifications so i have to leave the mail program open all the time which also causes system slowdown.
this is the worst heap of junk they ever "sold" on us. i had working machines, after i did what they said would be fine i now have 2 piles of wasted money. -

Occasionally an image from a previous website appears briefly when opening safari. I'm afraid it might do it with a site that has private information and other individuals use this ipad. Is this a problem fixed in the updates to the iOS or something different entirely. The image flashes sometimes even after clearing history and cache.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPad mini safari search bar changed to grey and can no longer clear history
What has happened? The panel in safari where you type in web addresses use to be white with black type now it's all grey with white type. It's awful. Also I used to be able to clear history but can no longer do this. Need this option as looking for Christmas presents and don't want kids to see.
Will be so grateful if anyone can get my ipad back how it was.Are you referring to the new colors of iOS 7? If that's the case then there is no way to change it.
To clear your History:
1 Tap the Bookmark icon (the one next to the cloud and + icons.
2 Tap Bookmarks > Select History
3 Hit Clear (Notice the Clear icon at the bottom).

I have an E51 with Nokia Maps 2.0. I am returning the phone, and want to clear history etc, but can't find a way to delete the entries in Nokia Maps->Favourites->History. Is there a way to clear this list? If I select one of the entries and choose Options, I only have the Help and Exit options.

I cannot access the internet the screen is grey, I have tried by using the answer from someone but it does not work...I went to settings, tap safari, then clear the history, cookies, and cache, then turn off ipad. When I did that twice, it did not work. How long does it take for the clear history to work? I am a brand new
user of the ipad2 and I am disappointed that this is happening already.Have you been able to access the internet previously and now it's suddenly not working, or are you still trying to access the internet for the first time on your iPad? Are you at home trying to connect through your home router? If you are at home, did you put your home routers encryption code as your password? The encryption code is what your iPad is looking for and it is usually found on the router and is typically a 13 digit combination of letters and numbers. Let us know......

We have a corporate website, we officially support FF3, FF4, IE8 and IE9. Our web site is quite big, so we really need browser caching, first time page load is around 15 seconds. With files in the cache getting new page is less than a second.
Everything works perfect except with FF3. With FF4, IE8, IE9 if we are on the website, clicking everywhere is fast, the page is in the cache. If we restart the browser, it is still fast, it loads files from the cache.
But with FF3 we have a problem. Every time we restart the browser, it is loading the files again from the server, instead of using the local cache (checked with Firebug). I can reproduce the problem anytime, it is the same with every FF3 instances. I double checked, the "clear history when Firefox closed" option is not enabled.
Could you advise please how to use the local cache either after browser restart?

ChrisJust read that the default memory storage on FF is set to 5 mbs. You can up that by clicking on tools, advanced and overriding the default and set it to 50 mbs (if you use lots of tabs) or 10 mbs (if you use just a few).
I open a blank tab and clear the cache periodically, while I am working. I can have several tabs open and watch videos on Youtube, by doing this. Have you cleared your cache?
Since I have an older computer, I've also used CCleaner for years. I use it often, but always before signing off. You can get it free...search for CCleaner, download from Pirifoam free. I didn't change any of the settings and it clears crap left behind from uninstalling programs, clears all browsers at once of: cookies, history, passwords, etc. I love it!
I had freezing, before using the "open blank tab, clear the cache" thing. Now I have no problems. Plus, as I said...you can change the default memory usage for FF and that should help too.

Became enthusiastic after downloading beta firefox for android yesterday - I bookmarked about 12 random websites.
Today, I added my regular, valuable bookmarks and favorite places, and used the right screen to remove the 12 useless sites from my favorites.
This works very well and intuitively.
But firefox appears to store the deleted bookmarks on the left panel, above my favorites file showing up in "all pages"
I would like to clear history. How do I clear history?The left panel is for open tabs. The can be closed by pressing the red x button for each tab.
Clearing private data can be accomplished by opening the preferences and scrolling to the 'Clear private data' line and pressing the 'clear' button. -
