It doesn't...... this app really *****... I use it in Mexico City and can´t find anything I look for.... I don´t know if maybe it works perfectly in USA.. but by now, with the incredible success of the iphone worldwide, apple should really be making the same effort to bring its services to every country they ship to. The satellite resolution is way worse than before. Sure, there are some cool stuff like 3d and flyover... but this is an app people actually depend on a lot of times, so before thinking in adding cool fun stuff they should´ve really made sure it was as functional or better than the previous one. Oh, and I have an iphone 4, so not even the cool stuff works on my phone. I really hope the google maps indeendent app comes out soon.

Why doesn't IOS Maps show a map any more?

So, when I was stuck in New York city for five days last week, I wound up using the new IOS maps app for the first time, on my iphone 4.
It worked fine for a day or two... then, for some reason, it stopped loading maps.
It would show a blue dot where I'm at, and little traffic warnings would appear, but no streets, no nothing.
If I tell it to load satellite views, that works fine, but regualr maps doesn't.
Now that I'm finally back home in LA, it's still doing the same thing.
I've manually closed the app, and done a hard reboot on the phone, and it still does the same thing.
Seriously, having a map app that stops working when you're stranded in a strange city with a hurricane barrelling down on you and you're trying to walk from your power-out old hotel to a new one was no fun...

Sorry I thought you meant that you just closed (suspended) the app. Unfortunately I haven't heard of this problem before and haven't seen and KB articles on troubleshooting maps. If closing Maps, then restarting the phone didn't fix it, guess I would make an appointment with the genius bar at a nearby Apple store and have them take a look at it.

Show more than 10 points in iOS Maps Api?

Does someone know how i can show more than 10 points in the iOS Maps Api?
I am searching for some shop´s in the user´s location. 10 points are not enough.

How do I update the "Maps" app with street new construction and changes to areas areas near me.. Google Maps shows a new road near my house constructed last year. But iOS Maps does not show it.

Click the small "i" in the circle in the lower right of Maps. Then choose "Report a Problem", and report the map discrepancy.

Auto reroute on iOS Maps on iPhone 4?

Trying out the new Apple Maps app on iOS6 on my iPhone 4.
While driving down the road, if I accidentally go off course, maps doesn't do anything to recalculate my route and get me back on track?
How do I get it to reroute if I go off course?

Extremely disappointing. I was expecting that the upgrade to Apple Maps was going to at least offer some sort of improvement over the Google Maps based app we previously had.
This makes iOS Maps an utterly lose/lose situation.
Gotta say, as a former Apple employee, an iPhone owner since the 3GS, the owner of a new iPad and the owner of numerous iPods over the years, even my faith is crumbling and I'm starting to think about ditching Apple for Android.
They aren't making it easy for us loyalists to keep evangelizing the products...

IPad 2 wi-fi with iOS maps turn by turn?

I have iPad 2 wi-fi. If I buy a gps receiver such as the Dual XGPS150a, will I be able to use turn by turn navigation with Apple iOS 6 maps, or will i need to buy an app such as Navigon with preloaded maps?
I guess my 2 questions are:
1) Do I need data access as well as GPS to use Apple Maps in iOS 6, or do I just need GPS?
2) Is the Maps software different for wi-fi only iPads vs. those with cellular capability? i.e. if I was connected to wifi and had a bluetooth GPS receiver, could I even then use the Maps software on iPad 2 wi-fi?
I guess I could use my phone as a wireless hotspot and buy a gps receiver to use my iPad for GPS, but if that's the case, I could just use my phone....

I have a dual GPS receiver that I frequently use with my iOS devices. Unfortunately, the Maps application on my WiFi iPad doesn't have any of the GPS functionality, even when the Dual GPS is paired. It seems that Apple chose not to include the functionality, as I am able to use my external GPS with the maps turn-by-turn navigation on my iPhone without issue.

Error compiling for IOS "map failed"

Since i have installed Flash Builder 4.6 I allways get an error when I compile for Device "Map Failed".
Compiling for Desktop works fine. When I used Flash Builder 4.5.1 I had sometimes the same problem,
but sometimes compiling worked.

What can I do ?

I am getting a similar error when exporting a release build for ios.
It seems to be caused by the number of assets I include in the project. If I remove all of the video assets from the package it builds a working release. When the video assets are included, it fails to export the release build with the error "map failed".
So it seems to be the number of assets included or the total size of the included assets that causes the error for me. But I can't find a way around it so can't currently export a release build with all the required assets.
I'm starting to wonder wether I'm going to have to write some kind of "updater" to download all the required assts to the iOS device when the app is first run, which isn't ideal.

HT5429 What can I do about the fact that IOS maps no longer shows my home street correctly on the map?

It showed correctly under Google maps but whole sections of the street are missing under IOS 6.
I have tried reporting the problem via the recommended method and received no response. I know that this is also a problem in Tom Tom because I discovered after paying a significant amount for their iPhone app only to find my address missing on their maps. I tried reporting it to them months ago and they made no change in their app or maps. I do not live in a remote area but a within the city limits of metropolitan area and the house has been here since 1929, giving Apple and Tom Tom ample time to get it right!
I am very disappointed that neither Apple or Tom Tom have not even responded to my request despite my investment in their products.

What exactly do you mean by "people ike[sic] me?" You presume to know me from a few words I have written here?! I am not enough of a true believer to suit you?! I dare to question decisions that others have made that affect me?!
Well I will share one thing about me. I am a long time Apple user and supporter (Mac Plus) but I am also a firm believer in the maxim, "If it aint broke, don't fix it!" It seems to me the only thing Apple sought to fix in their switch to Tom Tom's mapping data was their link to a growing competitor, Google. The many complaints from those with a signifcant investment in affected Apple products like me (2 iPads, 2 iPhones, 2 iPods) are well founded and deserving of a voice. There have been many problems with the new map data reported and not a lot of bravos. I have read on a similar thread to this one the Apple has said it may be 2-3 years to get the maps up to speed.
I don't know about you, but the Google maps data was working fine for me including all the other apps it integrated with. So why should I have to go out and spend my hard earned money on another platform? Why should I not expect that Apple will be responsive to its users if we raise our voices in protest of an uneeded change that has produced bad results.
Maybe my choice of the word "foist" (to introduce or insert surreptitiously or without warrant) was a little strong but who here feels they were consulted by Apple before they made this major switch that affects so much of the functionality of their portable devices?

OS X/iOS Maps crash when searching/accessing bookmarks

I've been trying to track this one down for a while now.
Os OS X Maps crashes after a few seconds and it looks like it trying to open the bookmarks:
MSPBookmarkStorageReadFrom
I think that one of the bookmarks has an invalid field and this is causing the Maps app to crash.
Now seeing as the bookmarks are synced with iCloud when I search on iOS the app crashes immediately.
Is there anyway for me to clear all the bookmarks without opening the Maps app?

Copy and Paste this code in the Code field in the "Tools > Error Console" and click the "Evaluate" button to cleanup and compress the places.sqlite database file.

IOS' Maps App Improvements?

Hello.
Is it me or is iOS v8.1.3's Maps app still bad like its traffic reports? I thought Apple was going to improve it years ago after they dumped Google Maps (still way better) and stuff.

How can I clear the cache of my iOS maps app?

Some portions of my map are not loading properly. Square spaces have some features like parks and rivers, but no roads. Is there a way to manually clear the cache of the Maps app without restoring the entire phone?

Are you refering to Internet Browsing ? Then it should be somewhere under Options-->Privacy in the Browser...

Can we save satellite images from the Apple ios Maps app?

The Apple Maps app has a more recent image of my property than Google: I'd therefore like to save the satellite image to file. Is this possible?
The only option I can find is the 'Print' command, but this just prints the Standard map without any satellite imagery.
As an alternative, can we view Apple's maps on a standard browser, e.g. Safari ?

You can do a screen capture of the Maps display. Just press the On/Off and Home buttons at the same time (briefly) and you will hear a click. The image can be seen in the photos App.

IOS XE to classic IOS mapping

I am confused regarding the use of classic IOS version numbering and IOS XE version numbering. There seems to be quite a few reference points that say "translate your IOS XE number to a classic number and then perform the vulnerability search using that information".
TAC however has told me to ignore the IOSd portion of the IOS XE version number and said just use the release version number instead.
Which one do we use? Do we use the table to translate it and then verify that the code is not vulnerable or do we not translate it.
The problem is that if you use the IOS XE version number it says that no vulnerabilities are found ever. If you translate it there are a few vulnerabilities.

This bug is "fixed" - the fix is removing the ability to configure this. When this switch first went live, we had the ability to enable this feature, however it should have never been possible. When enabled, it was completely run in software and in turn essentially DOS'ing the box.

Multiple push pins in iOS maps app?

I would like to chart all the sites I plan to visit on my vacation this weekend. Is there any way to load all points of interest in so i can select between the pins to navigate?

The map app seems to only want 1 pin at a time. Spend some time in the app store. Try the free maps+ app. And see if it does what you want. The free app supports 3 pins, and if it works to your liking, you can upgrade to a fuller version. There are a lot of map apps to check out.

IOS Maps cannot get my current location?

Wondering if anyone can help...I got a new internet modem last week..as my other modem stopped working properly. Beforehand, I was able to get my current location no problem. Since I got the new modem..my iPod Touch (5th Gen) cannot get my current location. All it says "Cannot Determine Location"
I ask Siri a question about my current location and it can't find my current location either, give me near businesses that I would like to go to e.g A Restuarant or give me local weather.
Any thoughts on what should I do...I have tried resetting the network settings and my last resort would be to restore my iPod as everything else on it is working perfectly.
My home address is not fully correct but worked with the last modem I had, and thought it might work with this new internet modem (WiFi) from the same company. Should I change it to the correct address as it should be or leave it alone?
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this problem. It's preety annoying

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.
You can confirm that by going to place with a know located router like Starbucks or McDonalds
Make sure someone with an iPhone comes over and uses wifi at your house.

Access iOS 6 Maps on the web?

Is there a way to access iOS Maps on the web? I ask this because there are so many errors in everything I've searched for thus far (including the 14+ buildings of my employer), that it will take forever to tap in problem reports for each one. Google made this a fairly simple process using http://maps.google.com and I'm hoping Apple has done or is going to do the same...

If the maps are coming from TomTom, it looks like they have a provision on their website to report road changes: http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/
It doesn't look like they let you modify location/entity information though...
