IOS 6 no longer able to download

I just upgraded from iPad 3 to 4 and am no longer to download/install new wallpaper from the App Store.

Okay, dumb question.  The ipad 3 had ios6, too.  I am noticing a lot of differences between the two and the difference is not the iOS version.  Anyway, there are a lot of problems that I never had with the ipad 3 and I'm regretting exchanging it for this one.  I just thought for the same amount of money, I should return It for the ipad 4.
So, this is still a problem.  I can't download and change my wallpaper.  The only backgrounds I am allowed to use are the ones that came with it.  Thanks.

  • After I downloaded and installed the latest iTunes upgrade (to 10.5.1), I am no longer able to download free app upgrades for the apps I have on my iPad/iPhone/iMac which i had previously purchased. Itunes tells me I "don't own the major versions".

After I downloaded and install the latest iTunes software upgrade (to 10.5.1), I am no longer able to download free upgrades to the apps on my iPhone or iPad.
The App Store just says I "don't own the major versions", which of course is nonsense. It seems as if Apple's iTunes/App Store has deleted my download history. Any suggestions?

Actually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

  • HT5225 What about my mail? I was told I could still keep my email account but I am no longer able to download my emails.

I was told I could still keep my email account even if my system wasn't up to a wholescale iCloud upgrade but I am no longer able to download my emails to my account.  I can still get them on my iPod but not on my laptop.  How do I make the transition?

How much mail are we talking about here?  Roughly how many messages, and roughly how many gigabytes of mail?
Who is the mail provider?  Is this a local provider on a local network, or one of the "free" providers, or something from your ISP?
Do you have free disk space on your OS X system here, or is it possible that your disk is getting full?
As for the usual diagnostics for problems with Mail.app, launch Mail.app and select the Connection Doctor from the Window menu, let it run, select More Details, and re-run the tests.  Expunge any personally-identifying information and post the results here, if they don't make the trigger clear.
You can also try a mailbox repair pass; there's a Rebuild option in the Mail.app menus.
If the downloads are failing, then the usual trigger is the IMAP or POP password setup; there are two entirely seperate connections and two separate credentials and such; the send path (SMTP) and the receive (IMAP or POP) path.  Usual triggers for problems are changes to the mail servers involved, or the mail ports, or the credentials needed; I've seen vendors change each of those, and forget to mention it to their users.
That OS X version is extremely old.  (I don't have anything nearly that old to check the details fo the setup of that version; 10.6.8 is the oldest OS X version I have handy.)

  • HT4528 I am no longer able to download FREE apps. It says I need to verify my bank information. When I verify bank information, it tells me it's wrong and I know it's not! What's the fix?

I am no longer able to download FREE apps. It pops up saying I need to verify my banking information. When I go to my banking information, it tells me it's wrong, and I know it's not. HELP!!! I can't download ANY apps - FREE or otherwise! What is going on???

Is it possible the expiration date for your credit card recently changed, or you got a new card with an updated authorization code?  If nothing has changed recently in Settings > iTunes & App Stores, click on your Apple ID, go to billing information and delete the card, re-enter it, save and try again to download apps.

  • No longer able to download pdf files from websites.

    I am running Firefox 11.0 & Aurora on a Mac with OS X 10.6.8.
I used to be able to download pdf files, such as my bank staements, direct from websites with no problem on either browser.
Recently, when clicking on the link, the dialog box asking whether I want to save it or open it no longer appears and nothing else happens. Can't download. My wife has the same problem with a new Mac with OS x 10.7 Lion.
I am also running an older version of Firefox 3.6.28 on a Mac with PPC processor & OS X 10.5.8. With this I have no problems downloading the pdf files I want.
I have compared the Firefox preferences between the two machines and made them the same. Also found the ''Unable to download or save files'' link on Firefox Help and I have Reset the browser.download configs as it suggested. And nothing has changed.
What to do? Anybody out there can help me? Thanks in advance.

Okay, I think I fixed it by going to Add-ons Manager and disabling Adobe Acrobat NPAPI plug-in, version 10.1.3. Now I'm back to downloading PDFs, then opening or saving.

  • ITunes library on network drive, no longer able to download from store

I have my iTunes library stored on a WD My Cloud drive.  Suddenly today I have found that I cannot download anything from the iTunes store (movies or music).
I get an error saying "The required folder cannot be found.  Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
I have the WD drive mapped to Drive M and my iTunes library points to the iTunes folder on that drive.  I have confirmed the drive is up and the connection is good.
I can play music and movies in iTunes from that drive.
I have shut down iTunes and rebooted the computer multiple times.
    I'm running Windows 8.1 x64
    ITunes version 12.1.2.27
I'm looking for any help at all.  I'm getting quite frustrated.
I do have iTunes set to Keep iTunes Media folder organized and also set to Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library

Is the whole library on the network drive, or just the media folder? Is it a NAS or a shared folder on another Windows machine? A USB connected drive as your primary library with the network drive as backup may be a more robust solution. If you library files are on the system drive see Make a split library portable.

I had the entire library on the network drive.  At one time I used it with just the movies on a drive that was plugged into my router but that was a hassle.  So I bought the 4TB network drive hoping this would be an easier solution and I could store everything on it.
It had work fine for a while but I do not know what happened.  Nothing I tried worked.  I successfully moved my library to my USB 3.0 drive and it is working just fine.  I am able to download from the iTunes store now.
Now, I did discover that some movies were missing but I can re-download them easily.
What I don't understand is that if I view my purchases in the iTunes store and tell it to show only movies that are not in my library it shows a whole lot of things that ARE in my library.

  • RESOLVED: HELP! No Longer Able To Download / Sync

A week ago, I posted the following problem:
Last month I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. When I installed it, I found I could no longer sync up the iPod (version 3.1). I got a pop-up message which read, "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software." And then a directory window for an "H" drive popped up.. I'm assuming "H" is what my PC assigned to the iPod. Obviously, the first thing I tried was reinstalling iTunes.
I searched Apple's site, and found a description of the problem at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
The problem was that I couldn't restore the iPod. When I tried to run iPod Updater, I got an error message. I was able to solve it by following this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499. The important point, I believe is that I completely removed iTunes and the iPod Updater, rebooted, re-loaded the iPod Updater, did an update (didn't need to restore), and THEN re-loaded iTunes.
Hopefully this can help someone else.

it's still a good idea to try the MSCONFIG thing to see if there's a conflict:

if you still get the message after that, you can just reenable all those items again.

  • Why am I no longer able to download and listen to audio books on my iPhone?

My iPhone 4S no longer will play audio books or sync them from my personal iTunes library.  The audio books will complete the download process on my phone but they do not appear in the music app on my phone so they can't be played.  Does anyone know why or how to fix it?

    Hi, Jrpaige7.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can still copy and paste material from various applications in iOS 7.  Here are the steps on how to process these steps.

If you are experiencing issues with this functionality, I would recommend closing multitasking and power cycling the device.

  • No longer able to download from camera

My first attempt to download some photos from my Canon MVX 450 went very smoothly.
My second attempt, using the same method, had resulted in complete failure. There is no message on the screen.
I amusing the same USB cable and the camera is connected to the mains power.
Can anyone please suggest what could be wrong?

    John:
What computer are you using and have you rebooted it recently? If not do so and see if that helps.
If necessary download and reapply the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (PPC) or the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel) and try again.
In the meantime you should be able to use Image Capture to manually upload the photos to a folder on the Desktop and import it into iPhoto.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

I tried everything on the page except for the final step, which is "Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items" Yeah, right.
The USB cable / port would appear to be working, as it will charge.
Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated.

  • How can I redownload purchase from iBooks because they are no longer able to download them?!

It keeps saying I have insuffienct store credit even though I purchased the book. It's also confusing because it was only after the iOS update. Which was a few hours ago.

Are you trying by following these instructions:

  • No longer able to download pdfs, tried all the stuff on the help page, is this a result of the new version of Adobe Acrobat 10.1.3?

Previously, I had no difficulty w/ downloading pdfs. Now all I get is a blank Firefox screen, with nothing else happening--no downloads window opening up like before, or anything else. I recently upgraded my Adobe Acrobat to 10.1.3, and I wonder whether this is related to that? Does FireFox not find the new Acrobat?
I've gone through the things on the Firefox help page like changing download folder and renaming the whatever folder it was from what: rdp? to rdp.old. Does not effect problem.

Thanks Matt. I finally seem to have got it working better now with having gone into the Preferences, Applications, and selected "USE Adobe Acrobat Pro (default)" It had somehow gotten switched to "USE Adobe Acrobat NPAPI plugin..."
I admit to not knowing what I'm doing, but this switch seems to have made it workable again.
    Hope this maybe helps others...
