IOS 6 no longer connects to Bluetooth.

My 3GS (ios5) worked just fine with our JVC after market Bluetooth stereo (KD-R526) until I upgraded to IOS 6. It wouldn't even find the Bluetooth device. Now with the iPhone 5 I am having the same problem. No matter what I do I cannot get the Bluetooth to connect or even find the Bluetooth connection.

Update:  It actually hooks fine.  However, I cannot call out, but people can call in.

  • My iPhone 5 will no longer connect via bluetooth to Fitbit Flex or wireless headset

My iPhone 5 will no longer connect via bluetooth to my Fitbit Flex aftering updating to ios 7.  Apple phone support had me completely erase and set my phone up again as new to restart bluetooth pairing, then restore again through iCloud.  Worked last night but same problem today.  It also will no longer connect to my wireless headset in my car.  Of course I'm now 5 days over my 1 year warranty as well.  Any ideas?

Delete the pairing from both devices then pair them again.

  • My iPhone 3GS no longer connects through Bluetooth to my MacBook Air, nor my BMW X3.  Is this fixable?

My iPhone 3GS no longer connects through Bluetooth to my MacBook Air nor my BMW X3.   I've made no recent adjustments, it's just stopped functioning.   Any ideas?   Can this be fixed, or is my iPhone on the way out?

Problem solved!! I finally managed to pair the SE HCB-100 car kit speakerphone with the 3GS. I surfed the SE web site and it mentioned resetting the speakerphone. Tried it on 'one color ID' but it didn't work so I did it on all 'color IDs' and left it on reset mode when it 'accidentally' was picked up by my 3GS while searching!!! Found 'headset' and then recognised it as HCB-100. One happy guy for the holidays!!!

  • Configurator, iPads update iOS will no longer connect to network

Managing 30 iPad 4s with Bretford cart, Mac Mini.
On a recent update to iOS 7.0.4, it seems that not all of my iPads took it nicely. Only 3 worked like I expected in fact, and function as they did before. 27 others will no longer connect to the network I had deployed as a package in Configurator. In fact, they went back to the beginning welcome / setup screen for the OS reload.
Is there something that I can try before I just set these all to erase and re-prepare them?

Update: I unplugged all, and manually plugged in one iPad.
I unsupervised, and prepared it again, reloaded all the apps, and got the same result.
Once the iPad shows up in Configurator as prepared, and in my supervised list, it seems good to go: BUT
as soon as I turn it on, it shows me the "Hello" welcome screen, asks to join the network, and seems to freeze. The iPad goes to sleep without it receiving a connection.

  • Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car?

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working.
I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either.
When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all.
Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Thanks for that, when I go to delete the pairing in the phone it does not give me the option of deleting  a device, it is just 'searching' under devices - like it is stuck?? I am guessing by the Head Unit you mean the car, I have deleted all phones from the car so it is completely empty.
I am truly stumped as I say it has been working perfectly and now its not, its driving me crazy!!

After I updated my iphone 4 to ios 6.1.3 I can no longer connect to my bluetooth, plantronics model M25.  I tried reset all settings after turning on and off also submitted diagnostic.  Do I have to buy yet another bluetooth set?

Thank you wjsten for your soon reply. Unfortunately on these days I'm in a country that Apple don't have any retail store here and for sake of time I prefer to fix it myself to DHL it to the nearest country to use its warranty. Do you have any idea how can I fix it? Do you think it's a software issue?

  • IPhone 4S will not pair or connect to Bluetooth since IOS 7.1.2 upgrade, have done troubleshooting, on phone and with Honda Handsfree link, can no longer pair bluetooth devices with phone after un-pairing them

iPhone 4S upgraded to IOS 7.1.2. Since then, Honda Handsfreelink would not connect, I un-paired and re-paired phone on 2 prior occasions successfully. Now I deleted system settings in car, tried to pair another BlueTooth (Plantronices M20 that had previously been paired wtih iPhone unsuccessfully. I have tried troubleshooting with Honda HFL, Verizon Tech Support, reset network settings on phone and I can no longer get the Bluetooth to pair. I was told to bring phone to VZW store. I was also told to reset phone to default settings which I do not want to do.

You have to reset the plantronics device before you can pair successfully. With my new iPhone the plantronics web site said to reset the headset and then pair.

  • Since upgrading to iOs 7.0.5, my iPhone 5S no longer connects to anything through Bluetooth, even things it was previously paired to. Any ideas?

Under the previous version of iOs 7, I could connect to 2 sets of headphones, and a van through bluetooth with no problems. Since the update, nothing connects, even though the iPhone can see the items. I have tried “forgetting” the devices and tried repairing them with no success.
I would contact Apple about this, but every time I tried with other problems their response was “Try waithing for the next upgrade”.
Anyone out there having the same problems, or know of any solutions?

I got the same issue with my Garmin Watch.
Since I've upgraded my iPhone 5s from 7.0.4 to 7.0.5 I can't perform the pairing.
I've tried with an iPhone 5 on 7.0.4 and everything works as expected, but not with 7.0.5. I have a message who says "Pairing Unsuccessful, Pairing took too long. Make sur "tactix-xxxxx" is turned on, in range, and is ready to pair".
As I said, I don't have this message with 7.0.4.
I've performed all tips to try to resolve the bluetooth issue on my iPhone, in vain
    Please help !

  • IPhone 6 on iOS 8.1 no longer connects to car's bluetooth

I got the iPhone 6 about 4 weeks ago and the weekend after getting it, I was able to get my Infiniti dealership to hook my iPhone 6 to my FX35's bluetooth system so I can make hands-free calls.
I just had my FX serviced this past weekend and now my 6 will not connect to the bluetooth in the car.  I tried a friend's Moto X and it connected and discovered it fine.  I even hooked my bluetooth earpiece to my 6.
Am I doing something wrong here?  Or does iOS 8.x still have lingering bluetooth problems?

Update:  It actually hooks fine.  However, I cannot call out, but people can call in.

  • IPhone 4s No Longer connects to Car Bluetooth after iOS 7.1 Update

My iPhone 4s has been paired to our 2006 Acura TL hands free link (Bluetooth) and working flawlessly for more than a year.  After the iOS 7.1 update installed on my iPhone the connection has been lost and the car's Bluetooth does not recognize, and will not pair with my iPhone anymore!  I noticed there were two back-to-back updates for iOS7.  The first one caused intermittent interruptions and lost connections with the iPhone.  The second update completely destroyed the connection between the car bluetooth and the iPhone.  Any ideas on how to correct this problem would certainly be appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hello algee1,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with pairing your iPhone with your Acura.
In my experience, when updates are released for iOS devices, compatible devices release an update to maintain compatibility.  Step 2 from the article below recommends checking with the manufacturer of your car stereo to see if there is a firmware update available for your car stereo:
    2. Update software and firmware if necessary
Verify that both your car stereo and your device have the latest software versions. Contact the manufacturer to see if any updates are available. If your device does not have the latest version of the iOS, update to the latest software version.
I recommend reviewing the full article here for additional troubleshooting steps:
    iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581
I also recommend these steps if the issue persists after following all the steps in the previous article:
Unable to find nearby Bluetooth accessories
If a pairing record already exists, the device does not appear as discoverable. Try to connect the device using that pairing record.
If you are unable to connect using the existing pairing record, delete the record and pair again.
Ensure that the firmware or software on the Bluetooth accessory is up to date.
Ensure that the Bluetooth accessory is charged or connected to power.
Verify that the Bluetooth accessory is using a profile that works with the iOS device.
Turn off both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory, then turn both devices on again.
If the issue persists, test Bluetooth with another device or consult the manufacturer's documentation.

  • TS3581 iOS 6.1 update - iPhone will no longer connect/pair with my car.  Is there a workaround for this issue?

After the 6.1 update my iPhone 4S will no longer connect with my car stereo (2012 Chevy Sonic).  Until update, everything was working fine and I experienced no such issues.  I have tried deleting my phone from my stereo memory and re-pairing, but I get a pair unsuccessful error on my iPhone; I have been able to pair a pre-6.1 iPhone successfully after discovering the problem.  Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?

IIRC updating the iPhone iOS changes its characteristics when viewed by vehicle
    bluetooth
That is why you need to remove pairing from both ends and start again
Vehicle just does not recognise the iPhone as the one it previously paired with

  • Can no longer connect iPad Mini 2 to iPhone 6 Personal Hotspot (iOS 8.1.2 on both)

I can no longer connect my iPad Mini 2 w/ iOS 8.1.2 to connect to my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2, Verizon Wireless) running Personal Hotspot. The iPad displays the error "Remote Hotspot Failure - Unable to start personal hotspot "iPhone.  However, my Windows 8.1 laptop connects to the iPhone just fine. The iPad connection problem occurs with or without the Windows laptop connected or even turned on.
Both the iPhone and iPad have Bluetooth and WiFi on, and the iPhone has Hotspot active. The iPad shows the iPhone Personal Hotspot on the WiFi Settings page, but throws the error each time i attempt to connect. Additionally, the iPhone shows 1 Connection on Personal Hotspot even though I have no devices connected. I have reset my network settings twice on both the iPhone and iPad.
BTW - I used to be able to connect the iPad to the Hotspot prior to updating to iOS 8.1.2 on both devices.

Forgetting the hotspot on the iPad sent me in the right direction. I now have it working correctly, and seem to have diagnosed the cause.
The cause seems to be that I had connected the iPad to the Hotspot via Bluetooth. Once I figured out how to delete that link, I was finally able to connect to the Hotspot. Here is what I had to do:
    On the iPhone:
    - Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth
    - Turn on Personal Hotspot and change the Hotspot password (this may not have been necessary, but things are now working)
    On the iPad:
    Reset all network settings:
Settings -> General -> Reset (at bottom of page) -> Reset Network Settings (deletes all known networks and their passwords and restarts the iPad)
Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth (I had found that Bluetooth must be on is necessary in some other research)
DO NOT CONNECT TO THE PERSONAL HOTSPOT USING BLUETOOTH - DON'T GO THERE!
Connect to the Hotspot using WiFi
    Settings ->WiFi
    - Wait until you see "iPhone" under PERSONAL HOTSPOTS (or maybe CHOOSE A NETWORK)
    - Select "iPhone"
    - Enter the (new) password that you set on for the PERSONAL HOTSPOT on the iPhone
You should now be connected via WiFi
Bottom line: Unless you have some VERY compelling reason to connect to the Hotspot via Bluetooth, NEVER do it. WiFi speed is multiples that of Bluetooth. With WiFi using Broadband Speedtest over Verizon LTE - 2 bars/dots - I am consistently getting between 15 and 20 Mb download and 3-15 Mb upload. With Bluteooth using the same test, I was getting about 1 Mb maximum upload and download.
I hope this solves the problem for all reading this thread. And thank you ManSinha for the helpful clue.

  • Iphone (5c) no longer connects iTunes to bluetooth since recent Apple iphone update

iphone (5c) no longer connects iTunes through bluetooth since latest update (8.1.2)

    Hi Jill4547,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're not able to sync your iPhone to iTunes wirelessly, or Bluetooth connections are not working as expected.
The iPhone syncs wirelessly to iTunes using a Wi-Fi connection. If you haven't been able to sync wirelessly since updating to iOS 8.1.2, you can use the steps in this article to check your sync settings in iTunes:

  • After the iOS 5.1.1 update,I can't connect to Bluetooth on our iPads

SInce the iOS 5.1.1 update I can no longer connect to our Bose Sounddock via Bluetooth on both of our iPads.  I can still connect to the Sounddock via bluetooth with my iPhone as I have not completed the iOS upgrade. The speaker still works because i have obtained a hard line connection to the iPads and via bluetooth to the iPhone as discussed.  Any suggestions?
