IOS 6 on iPhone 4 won't install

My iPhone 4 will download ios6 but it will not install it. It's gets to the "preparing download" and then it says there was a problem downloading the update and it won't install. Please help!

Keeps saying the connection timed out and to check my connections but everything is working just fine. I was able to donwload the itunes update just fine so I know its nothing to do with my connections. I get an error msg when I try to do it OTA. Says it encountered and error and to check my settings. Cant restore the phone since it needs to download the update because it always gives that error message

Itunes says my iphone is at ios 2.0.1, is it possible to get a later ios free, itunes won't install 4.2 ?

when I connect my iphone to the pc itunes says it is at ios 2.0.1 and I can update to ios 4.2 but, after 10 mins or so the update fails with no specified reason. Is it possible to update my phone, or do I have to get a newer one?

You should be able to update this using iTunes. There's a coupld things you can try though. Hard for me to help point you in a direction without it giving you any specific error message. At that point I would try basic trouble shooting. Maybe give this a shot first

Also, it may be your best interest looking into getting a new device since that version of iOS is a bit out dated, you wont find many apps you can use on this phone due to compatibility being limited, depending on if that's something you're concerned about.

Ios 7 - iphone won't trust this computer?

i know people have successfully gotten this to work but for some reason my iphone just keeps repeating over and over and over again the "Trust this computer?" dialog and won't pair the device. i'm trying to do this with ifuse.

I actually managed to mount my iPhone5s runnin iOS 7.0.5. But my older iPhone5 running iOS 7.0.4 wont mount no matter what I do.
I used the iFuse to mount iPhone5s. It took couple of tries.

IOS 8 update won't install. 181GB available!!

I am trying to do the iOS 8 update on my iPhone 5S. I am getting a message saying that .... "This update cannot be installed because it requires 5.8 GB of storage." I currently have 181 GB out of 200 GB available. I have updated my iPad to iOS 8 with no problems. The same Apple ID is used for both my iPad & iPhone. Any suggestion??? Thanks!!

You need 5.8GB of available space on your device, not in your iCloud account. You'll have to delete something, at least temporarily, in order to perform the update. If you have lots of music on your phone that is in your iTunes library, you could remove it (by going to Settings>General>Usage, tapping Music, tap Edit, then tap next to All Music) then sync it back after the update. Another option is to import your camera roll photos to you computer and delete them from your phone (see iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer), then sync them back to your phone after the update.

IOS AIR app won't install with new certificates

I've been devloping my first iOS app in AIR for a few months. Testing on up to 3 devices has gone fine. It's time to submit to the app store. I'm developing for a client who wants the app in their name in the app store. So they set up an Apple iOS developer account and gave me access. When I made a new set of certificates and profiles with the new account the app failed to install on my testing device. I've remade all the certificates multiple times and double checked that I have the correct UUID and am not using a distribution profile.
Is there a problem using someone else's account with keys and certificates made on my mac? What else can I try?

HT6162 iOS 7.1 Won't Install

I cannot get the 7.1 update to install. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone figure out how to get it to install?

I haven't been able to try. The icon is there for me to see, but it doesn't respond when I attempt to click on it. I've powered my phone off and restarted it, but to no avail.

I can't find mac os x 10.5. The version of itunes I need for my new iphone won't install without mac os x 10.5 at least.

This makes no sense, since I am finding all kinds of versions after 10.5 for download.

Hi, Apple no longer gas or sells Leo/10.5, youd have to search eBay & such for a Retail copy, but 10.6 would be cheaper if your Mac can handle it...

Skype won't install on iPhone 3GS

Hello, Skype for iPhone won't install on my 3GS -- I am using iOS 6.1.6. I downloaded it a week ago from the App Store and it gave me an option to install an earlier version for my device. I had to restore it today and now it says that Skype isn't compatiable with my device and to upgrade to iOS 7! I'm not forking out €500 for a new iPhone that I don't want. This appears to be a restriction on the Apple AppStore:If you are attempting to download the app for the first time, the App Store will not offer the download of an older version. You must already own the app for the older version to be offered. Workaround:If you do not already own the app, one workaround is to purchase/download the app from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC using the same Apple ID you are using on your iOS device. My iPad is 5.1 full charge and on wifi connection? I can download ISP both by iTunes and direct d/l from iPad. When it is done d/ iOS 6 it won't install.

The iPhone has a hardware problem - with the battery or something else.
The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If purchased new in October of 2012, it remains under warranty. Call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Yes... the iPhone 5 on iOS 6 requires iTunes 10.7 which in turn requires OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) or later...

Latest Revel IOS update crashes and won't install

I have been using Revel v 2.3.1-548 on iPhone 5 and iPad 3 without any issues. An update was released today (29 June) and this won't install and crashes the app on both devices so I have had to go back to the old version. Anyone else having this problem?
