Ios 6 Phone app disappointment

those guys at apple runing of ideal, now they change thing around not for good but for worst, the phone app was working perfectly for me as having of all different group of clients. now it's getting harder to manage, so complicated. is there any good phone app out there?

Yeap I did that and customize the settings. I set it to 3 mins and been staring at it for 5 mins. It is not going off which is weird (prior to me updating to iOS 6).
This problem only happens when I open an app on my phone upon starting up and then closing all background apps. By right, the phone screen should turn off after 3 mins but it is on and the only way to turn the screen off is to press the power button or I have to power cycle the phone.

IOS 6 phone app

I have iOS 6 and upgraded the first day. I love it! Except the phone app doesn't give me those cool new options when someone calls. It still hives me the call screen that looks just like iOS 5.

I Connected to iTunes and reset to factory settings (( at the expense of some apps that I'll have to download again )) but still nothing changed. Weather widget still says Update failed. I also tried searching through postal code, but no validation. By the way my phone is NOT jailbroken.

After upgrading to iOS 5 the actual phone app keeps crashing

Updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 yesterday. Everything seems to work fine, it seems, except the actual phone app.
When I click it to make a call it immediately crashes and goes back to the home screen.
I was able to make a call by calling out of the address book but the screen was blank. At the top I got the green bar saying "Touch to return to call" and when I clicked on it I'd see the regular phone stuff you'd expect to see for a split second before the screen went back to black with the green bar at the top.
I was unable to end the call without turning the phone off.
I can receive calls and everything works fine until I answer the call. I'm able to talk with no problems but I get the same problem described above when actually looking at the phone.
I have tried turning the phone off and also hard resets but nothing works.
Anybody know what's wrong or how to fix?

Clearing all the apps out of the multitask tray followed by a hard reset appears to have solved the problem.

Contacts tab under Phone app bug in iOS 8.2

Hi everyone,
I heard this bug /error in the early releases of iOS 8.x and faced it personally in 8.2. When you go contacts tab in "Phone" app -this is important because this issue is only in the contacts tab under the Phone app. It doesn't happen in Contacts app itself or an third part app like WhatsApp. As I said only under the Phone app's contacts tab- and type a common name or surname in your contacts ,for example "Kartal" in my case, the app searches this word in your contact list and gives you result. The problem starts here: When you want the select the last result from the search -of course results must over flow the screen- and you scroll your finger down to last result it comes out of the screen when you pull your finger from the screen. Does anyone noticed this and has a solution for it? (I guess this can only be solved by an update)

I think I see what you are saying - you cannot get to the last results of the search. Yes, it appears to be a bug. Please report it to http://www.apple.com/feedback as we are all just users here and cannot do anything about it. Thanks.

I think there is a flaw in ios 5. Notification centre doesn't show missed call, during another call is in progress, after accessing recent calls in phone app, once.

Notification centre in ios 5 is not showing the missed calls when another call is in progress. It shows perfectly before accessing the phone app. But once you access the recent calls in phone app, then afterwards it stops showing the missed calls during another call is in progress.

Forgot to add, this happens, when you receive a call, during the phone is locked, and you receive a call, while the previous call is in progress.

My eom lightning charger says its unsupported and acts like a knock off and apps appear to be running in background draining battery but I can't see them. Upgraded to iOS 7 phone only lasts 1/2 day. Notifications are all off.

I hope you are all well and having a nice day. Today i decided to share with you my problem - I need your opinion and help.
Problem
I noticed that after iOS 8.0 and even now that I'm running iOS 8.1 my phone app is lagy/slower responding. When someone is calling me and i answer, instead of actually answering the call instantly (like with iOS 7) now there are 2-3 seconds delay, the same is happening when i click a name from the phone app in the favorites section to call the contact.

SO, the constant reboots have stopped, but now have significant charging issues.
* % charge doesn't increase on multiple different charging cables
* hard reset doesn't solve

Phone app not working iPhone 5 iOS 8

Hi,
After I installed iOS 8 the phone app on my iPhone 5 is not working anymore. When I try to open it, or it shows only a blank screen and crashes after a few seconds, or it opens and freezes so can't navigate to another field for example from "favorites" to "recently" etc. Today I installed the update 8.0.2 and still have the same problem.

I'm on 8.1.2 (installed a couple of days ago)on my iPhone 5S and last night I had a missed international call.
I went into the RECENT CALLS tab and bam, it froze.
So the Apple Phone app is now useless. Every time I go in I just get a white blank screen.
I've tried everything I can think of except doing a hard reset back to factory settings and I don't want to do that because I've just been through a hard couple of days getting some professional apps to run and inputting a lot of detailed VPN settings working with our corporate help-desk and I was just about to take a new backup. Plus I'm not not even sure it's going to stay stable for long - I have business colleagues with the same phone on 8.1.1 and their RECENT CALLS screens are showing very erratic behaviour. On the older releases it seems the solution was to delete the RECENT CALLS data but then it was under General Settings. Now you need the frozen screen to do this.
Last night I was having to make calls sitting in the car using the multimedia Bluetooth center.
Then I realised I could work through contacts to make calls.
Then I saw this thread this morning and used the tip to use a 3rd party dialer (***?). Fantastic!
So I can make calls but I can't see any details of missed calls.

Phone app is crashing after upgrading to iOS 6 on 4S

After upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.0.1 I'm having real problems to use the phone app.
It takes about 2 minutes to load the app, when it can load, sometimes it crashes then I have to re-open it.
I've already tried to unlink my FB account and installing iOS 6.0.1 again.
Any ideas?

HAd the Same issue as Bruno, IOS 6.1.2.
When you said replacing the call log helped, that gave me the major clue to solving it a little easier.
I didn't care if I lost my call log history - and so will you if you do it, but it's much simpler:
I found the location of the call history file, and just deleted it straight from my Iphone.
Restarted the device, and it worked like new. Thx Bruno for the tip.
Been putting it off for 6 months now....

EDIT: actually, Don't do it. can't save any call history now.... brrr!!! at least I can use it. But my friend had the same issue, deleted his, and his history is working so I don't know...I'll edit with more details when I have some

Screen freezes on Phone app iOS 8

I am using iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.1 on it. I encountered two problems after updating to iOS 8.0.
1. My screen freezes at Phone App which causes home button to stop working, luckily i can make calls on the phone app. Lock screen works but swipe screen and password gets disabled which directly opens phone app if I lock and unlock phone with lock button. Phone works after I switch it off and restart. I tried restoring phone couple of times but in vain. Same problem persists.
2. When I make or attend calls with my EarPods on and press lock button, phone automatically restarts.

Phone app and Message App crashes with Iphone 4 with ios version 5.0.1 (9A405) crashes

I am having an Iphone 4 with ios version 5.0.1 (9A405). The phone app hangs while outgoing calls are made and similarly will not intimate for incoming calls which is irrritating that the othe party thinks, that I am not attending the call. For outgoing calls the screen shows as calling and no ringing tones while the other party might have attended the call. Once this happens then cannot disconnect the call and then have to kill the phone app.
Kindly advise.. is it a hardware or software problem

Holding the home and on button is not helping because after restarting also the same problem.. Issue happend to me yesterday and i restored the system completely and then it worked but again today the same issue happened and I taken it to etisalat(service provider in UAE) The gentleman there reinsatlled the application and now its working.. dont know what will happen tomorrow

After iOS 8 update, recent calls are no longer appearing and a count of -1 is showing in the phone app

After i updated to iOS8 , suddenly no call log is available in the phone app under recents.
Yet a number in red -1 appears on top of the recents section.
is this is a bug in the OS? how can it be solved?

If you have not set up iCloud backup or backed up using iTunes, all data on the phone was lost once it entered recovery mode.
Your only option is to restore it and start new.
