IOS 6 Shows Recurring Reminders as Overdue

I have several reminders set up in my MacBook, iPhone 4, and iPad 2 and sync them with iCloud. Some of these are recurring, so I have set them to repeat using the reminders schedule.
In iOS 5, these recurring reminders never showed as overdue (posts a number on the Reminders home screen icon) on the iPhone and iPad, because they really aren't overdue, as they repeat. Now, with iOS 6, they do show as overdue.
Is there any way to get this behavior to be like is was in iOS 5?

Just tick the reminder as completed and it will reset it for you.

  • IOS 5: Completed reminders still show up in Notification screen

My iPhone 4 shows completed reminders correctly in the Reminders app, that is to say, in the Completed tab. However, the completed reminder still appears in Notifications, when I swipe my finger down, even though the reminder is completed. That can't be right?

Yah, I've noticed that too. And a reminder I'd set for when i left work went off the subsequent day Arrggh. Still working on all the kinks lol

  • Weekly recurring reminders?

It's easy to set our FIOS "cable box" (QIP 6200-2) to turn on at a certain time, and tune to a specific channel, via the "reminder" feature of the program guide.   And that's great for the occasional one-time specials we don't want to miss.
But, like most people, there are certain shows we want to watch EVERY WEEK.
So why is it so hard (impossible, apparently) to set weekly recurring reminders?
This isn't rocket science, and this isn't a new idea.    Believe it or not, this was possible long ago, back when cable-TV was delivered via --- an actual cable!

  • ICal shows old reminders!

I like the new iCal design, but one thing has me confused: in Day view, iCal shows the reminders/appointments from yesterday or earlier in Today's page.
In other words, iCal now, correctly, shows a big "26" at the top for today, July 26. Yet, directly beneath that area where reminders and appointments go, iCal shows what I set up yesterday. Those reminders I created were only for yesterday, the 25th.
If I click on them while viewing July 26, I'm taken back to July 25!
To me, this is seriously wrong behavior for a calendar. On today's calendar page, I need to be shown what's on for Today, either fresh appointments I create today or repeating reminders which extend through today.
Anyone else experiencing this?  Is this intentional behavior programmed in by Apple?
    rc

    Hi lori123,
I will try to make a long story short!
My problem was that deleting an iCal reminder alert, didn't work. The alert would continue to come up every 15, 30 60 minutes depending on the original request. I had to go to the calendar event and eliminate the alert to make it go away!!
So, I began with Apple tech call-back, and started a conversation with a tech guy. After he had me do a couple things, he knew the problem was not something he could probably resolve. He referred me to higher tech. He would have me do things and then we would have a conversation later so I could tell him what if anything happened. Because of his work schedule and my in-and-out, we had about a half dozen conversations over a 2-3 week period. I know he mentioned on a couple occasions he was talking to programers for input. I was very pleased with this tech's desire to fix the issue. AND the issue was solved.
    Couple points:
         * If you start a conversation with the tech people - save your calendar data. I did not lose anything but, I was more comfortable doing the things he asked me to do knowing I had the data.
         * When my problem first came up, I looked at these discussions and it appears Apple has a few problems with iCal, but I don't remember seeing and software update fixes!
         * One thing the tech told me was in iCal, users can ahve similar symptoms, but reqire different fixes.
         * I ma not a very techie person, although I like tech stuff. But I do not feel Apple has done a very good job in explaining iCloud set-up. I could be wrong!!!

You really shouldn't be using the phone during an update...my thought is that your cables are the root issue. It is possible that because it was in the middle of the imparts and something went wrong it has been "bricked". I'd search the threads for restoring from recovery mode and you might have some luck.

  • Why doesn't Mail for IOS show sent items?

Why doesn't Mail for IOS show sent items with an IMAP server account. Everything else works okay but there is two sent directories and no contant in any of them ...
Trouble is the same in both iPhone4 and iPad.
Exactly the same account shows everything on my Macintosh. Including Sent items.

Using the method described above I see outgoing messages that were sent from Mail on my iMac in the correct mailboxes for 2 different MobileMe accounts.
You seem to be having and issue where your database/setting are corrupted if your messages are in the wrong outbox. I would suggest deleting the accounts from your iPad and the reconfiguring them.
While viewing an email at the top of the screen, left of the trash icon, you should se a Folder icon. Click on that to send the message to another folder. Page 59 of the manual http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_2_user_guide.pdf

  • IPhone 4 on ios 5 - recurring events show up multiple times

I updated my iPhone 4 to ios 5, and ever since, recurring events are showing up multiple times on the same day.  When I sync, it seems that another copy is added to my iPhone's calendar (only one event is in iCal).  I originally had a custom event that repeated every Tuesday and Wednesday.  I tried to change this into two events - one for each day - and it still has the issue of multiple events on the same day.
Notes I add to these events do not sync back to my computer, either.
I have tried wiping the calendars from the phone and syncing with what is on my computer, but I continue to have the same problems.
Any help/advice out there?  It's more of an annoyance than anything!

At least one of them is only using the cellular data or wi-fi at the moment.  His computer is on the fritz and he has not been able to sync with itunes for a while because of it.  I am not sure about the other colleague as she is out fo the office at the moment.

  • Ios 7 iphone reminders

When I downloaded IOS7, I found that the reminders app is much more difficult to use. Some of the issues that I am having are:
    1. Trying to edit my task on my phone is not possible, if the notes are lengthy. When you click on the text to edit data near the top, it will scroll to the bottom and not allow you to edit the text because you cant see it.
    2. Now all of my task are in one long list. I can not move from day to day like we could in previous version IOS6
    3. When I do edit a short task reminder and click done, it crashes and completly goes away. It does save the edit though
    4. You can only add task at the bottom of each days reminders. This is very inconvient and much more difficult than IOS6

Sounds like you're having a software issue with the iOS. These are some steps I would suggest which does take time:
    1. VERY IMPORTANT: Backup your phone. Whether if it's to iTunes on your computer or iCloud, Backup your phone and know your Apple ID password
    2. Try turning your phone On and Off, and see if it persist with the same issue
    3. Try doing a "Hard Reset" by holding the Sleep/Wake and Home Button for about 20sec or until the phone turns off and shows the Apple logo, then you can let go.
    4. If after step 3 the issue still persist, Go in to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.  This will not erase any information except for your settings ie: Passcode Lock, Wifi passwords, email passwords, ect.
    ***IF ALL ELSE FAILS***
    5. Erase All Content and settings and set up as a new device. (This is why step one is very important) See if the issue persist as a new phone.  If it doesn't, Erase All Content and Settings again and Restore from backup.
If the issue persist with your backup, then there maybe a corrupt file within that backup that may be causing the crashing issue.
Lastly, if you are able to, visit your local Apple Store and make a Genius Bar reservation
    Hope this helped!
    Good luck!

  • Updated to iOS 6. Reminders are gone.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and my Reminders lists progressively disappeared over the course of 10 minutes. Now all that is left is the default "Reminders" list.
Any ideas? Have already tried logging in and out of my iCloud account to no avail. Please help!!!!

There is a chance that they're all still there. One change in iOS 6 with regards to the reminders app is that it now only shows you one list at a time. The other lists are still in the app, but you can no longer swipe left and right to see them.
If your "reminders" are all on different lists and not just on the main reminders list, then you won't be able to see them until you press the button in the upper left corner that looks like a "list" icon. From there you can see all your lists, and hopefully your reminders are still there.
Just guessing and I hope it helps. Good luck.
For my part I wonder why Apple did away with the ability to swipe through the various lists. I loved that feature.

  • Issue showing number of records overdue. How to seperate out into their own count.

I have a report which shows number of action items created, number open, closed and overdue by 30,60,90 and 120 days.
The problem is if I have a record that is overdue by say 120 days, it will not only show as counted in the 120 days overdue field but the 90, 60 and 30 days overdue fields as well.  I want it to be counted just once in the 120 days overdue field. So
basically I am trying to write an expression which would do the following:  If it is a Near miss record and it over 30 days past due but less than 60 then count 1 other wise do not count.  If it is a ndar miss and is over 60 days past due but less
than 90 then count 1 otherwise do not count.
Below is the expression for the overdue field I currently use and a snapshot of the report so to better understand what I am doing.
    =iif((Fields!Incident_Type.Value="Near Miss"), Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_120_Days.Value),0)

    Hi blumm1,
If I understand correctly, the issue you are occurred is that a record which is over 90 days would be counted in the 90, 60 and 30 days overdue fields, but you want it just be counted in 90 days overdue field. In this scenario, we can try to refer to the
    expression below:
    Overdue By 30 Days:
    =iif((Fields!Incident_Type.Value="Near Miss"), Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_30_Days.Value)- Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_60_Days.Value),0)
    Overdue By 60 Days:
    =iif((Fields!Incident_Type.Value="Near Miss"), Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_60_Days.Value)- Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_90_Days.Value),0)
    Overdue By 90 Days:
    =iif((Fields!Incident_Type.Value="Near Miss"), Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_90_Days.Value)- Sum(Fields!Overdue_By_120_Days.Value),0)
If there are any misunderstanding, please elaborate the issue for further investigation.
    Thanks,

  • Any Way to Show All Reminders in Notification Center?

I am wondering if anybody can help me here. I keep a list of ongoing items in the Mac Reminders App. However, since I typically don't assign an Alarm/Reminder to these items, they do not show up in the Mac OS X Notification Center.
I'm wondering if there is a way to show all my Reminders in the Mac Notification Center even if I have not set an Alarm time on them?
I think it will be much nicer to just crack open the Notification Center and see all my Reminders as opposed to having to open up the App each time.

More flexible itegration with Reminders would be nice.
I like to have a task list handy, to see what I need to do and check things off when I finish them.
So I'd like to have ongoing projects listed in my Notification Center -- regardless of whether they have an alarm going off today or not. Alarms are annoying, and setting and resetting them every day for several ongoing projects is even more so.
So it's Reminder in an always-open window for me too.
Until it has more flexibility, the NC strikes me as a bit of useless UI bling.
Although the inclusion in the NC of any edits I make to any documents in Text Wrangler is fantastic....Um. Not.

  • ICal Events on my mac not showing in reminders after upgrading to mountain lion

after upgrading to mountin lion, all calenders on my mac are not showing in the reminders app, only calenders on icloud. The irony is all calenders created on my mac have been reclassified on iCloud. This was done automatically during the last upgrade and I chose to have my calenders on iCloud, so now they are listed twice in the iCal, however, there seems to be a difference between entries. For instance if I turn off the work calender on my mac, different things are removed than if I turn of the work calender on iCloud - i don't understand how or why this happens. In Reminders those very same calenders that are listed as iCloud on the iCal are listed as "on my mac" in the Reminder app and do not show anything. The only calenders on the Reminders app that appear under "iCloud" are the ones that I created on my iPhone. All these calenders are showing the correct entries.
SO far not terribly impressed with Mountian Lion. I am also annoyed that it seems that I can no longer view all my entries from calender tasks at the same time like I used to be able to with Lion. This was very useful. It is now terribly inconvenient to have to check each calender and list in turn (I have nine) to be reminded, unlike in Lion with the list just to the side of iCal.
Any help with the above problem?

In the mailbox panel move your cursor slowly down the right hand side . Should reveal show and hide.

  • Photos in iOS show location, not title

After syncing my iPod Touch (iOS 8.3) with my MacBook (Yosemite 10.10.3), all the photos on my iPod Touch now show the location and date taken, but not the title - even though the photos do have titles in Photos 1.0 on my MacBook.   Is there some way to get my iOS Photos to display titles?

I want the title to appear - the same title that has been applied to Photos OS X on my MacBook.
Photos in iOS cannot display titles. That's why it only displays the location and the date.   I linked to the Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8 - Apple Support document, because it lists what Photos iOS cannot display. And titles and captions are one of the items. You cannot add titles or captions in Photos on iOS,  and so they are not displayed.
