IOS 6 update failed on GPS location

I have huge issues using iOS 6 update on my iPad 2 .. The GPS doesn't locate the accurate coordinate and sometime it appears to be miles away from the actual location.
It was fine before the upgrade to iOS 6 (previously on iOS 5). Apple, please fix this and looking forward to hear from you as soon.

I'm sorry if this is repetitive, but I feel as though Apple needs to realize just how many people feel screwed.  I for one practically make my living with YouTube.  I understand that there is a business man's feud going on it makes sense, and honestly Google played a good hand.  Apple really seems like they were too cocky to do anything about it.  They should have been ready for this, anyone who was mildly aware saw it coming, but they clearly weren't.
With all the other shenanigans they've been up to lately Apple has lost me completely.  I really don't understand why I should even try and put up with this technology that can't even do the few things it was actually useful for.
iPad was just a "filler" media player couch device, now it can't even fill that role.  And after the update it still disconnects from our home wifi repeatedly.

Ive tried it 3 times over wifi and even twice conecting it manualy to itunes and it almost finishes and then tells me update failed. Please help

Mine did the same thing and the phone wouldn't do anything. I finally let iTunes do a restore and after that finished it had, in fact, upgraded to ios 6 and worked fine. It was scary for a few minutes.

  • Ios 8 update failed (ipad air)

After getting the popup message today, I was updating my ipad air from the latest version of iOS7 to iOS 8 like a good ipad user and my update failed, now I have to do a restore And I have no idea why it failed either.
the exact thing happened when I updated to iOS7 a while back.  Thankfully, this time I was smart enough to snap a backup before agreeing to complete the update, but now its gonna take over 4 hours to restore (wow - long time). Why is it that these major updates keep failing? Don't you guys test these updates before releasing them. Its a shame, Mac products used to be much more reliable with updates, now its a pretty sure thing that updating will fail for me.

after 4 hours of restoring time, this stupid icloud crap deleted all my data, all my music, movies, magazines, books, etc....this is THE WORST UPGRADE IN APPLE'S HISTORY!

  • After iOS 8 update, iBooks and Frequent locations.

So after the iOS 8 update I noticed iBooks taking up space up to 6MB when I do not have any iBooks. Also I noticed freque

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • IOS 5 Update Failed

    iOS 5 Update
After trying to update my ipod i got an error message from itunes saying my ipod could not be restored
i have tried the usaual methods of trying to restore it but nothing happens it just gets stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen
please help i will try anything!!!

The error number I got was "1". That number is not mentioned in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694. Also, the iPhone hangs for about 30-45 minutes before saying "unknown error occurred", not 15 minutes as I mentioned before.
Here is a screen shot of the annoying error message:
The error message is in Dutch. It reads "The iPhone 'iPhone' can not be restored. An unknown error has occurred (1)".
As I said before, I have done everything on the support page to which I am led when I press the "More information" button (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275?viewlocale=en_US).
    Please help!

  • TS3694 ios software update failed

The update to ios 6.1.3 failed and I am left with a phone in recovery mode. When connecting to itunes to restore the phone this fails and the message that the iphonw can not be restored because the software updatre server could not be contacted is given. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve?

Sorry I do not know what you mean by jailbroken. But has only ever had apple updates applied from new.

  • IOS 8 update failed and set my phone into Resore Mode

Anyone else tried updating to the IOS 8 resulting in the same issue?.  I tried updating it through the phone but due to the amount of space required (4.8GB) I couldn't as my phone was filled with vital information. I found out you can update it through your iTunes on the laptop using the connection lead. Everything was going fine until the last few seconds of the update, basically stating an error occurred. It then disconnected my phone and set it in Restore Mode. Meaning I had to connect it to my laptop and wipe the entire phone. Anyone else had this issue?

    Yes and no.
If you have a recent backup with iTunes on your computer or an iCloud backup, you can restore the iPhone from the most recent backup.

  • Tries updating iPhone 4S with iOS 6, update failed and now phone stuck on itunes logo

So i tried updating my iPhone last night to ios 6. Soon after the update began, iTunes said an error occurred and the installation stopped. now my phone is stuck on the itunes logo with a usb plug under it. I have tried everything i know of. turning the phone on and off/trying the reset thing with the power/home button does nothing. plugging into the wall does nothing. when i plug the phone into my computer, the sound of a device being connected happens, but iTunes does not recognize a device. no message pops up about a device in recovery mode or anything. I uninstalled then reinstalled everything apple-related, did not fix the problem. I'm not overly tech-savvy, but if anyone has any suggestions, lemme know please. ive spent well over 5 hours trying to fix this thing to no avail

OK i figured it out. you have to put it in DFU mode before itunes will recognize the phone.

  • IOS OTA update failed, now iPad wants to restore, but that fails too

After successfully doing the iOS 5.0.1 update on my iPhone via OTA, I started the process with my iPad2. After a while it appeared to have stalled, but I had to go out, so I left it, assuming it would be done when I got back. As it turns out, when I returned my iPad was asking to be connected to iTunes via USB. When connected, I got the message that it needed to be restored...
So, I've now tried restoring it about 4 times - the progress bar on the iPad gets about 2/3 of the way and then stalls for a long time, and then I get a message in iTunes that the restore didn't work. I've disconnected all other USB devices. I've rebooted my iMac. My iMac is fully up to date (OS, iTunes, etc)
Any ideas what I can do to get my iPad restored so I can then restore from backup and retry the iOS update (connected to the iMac this time)?
    Thanks,
    Scott

I sure disagree with the journanlists reporting Over The Air Updates working well.
We all have different experiences. I had the issue that you report when I upgraded to iOS 5. I eventually had to put my iPad in recovery mode to get the upgrade to complete. I did not have any issue with the iOS 5.0.1 update. I did not use OTA, I used USB, so my Mac downloaded the entire 750 MB iOS file and I was still updated in less than 10 minutes. The OTA update should normally also be about 10 minutes as the file is a 50 MB incremental update. I do not think that many folks had your issue because we are not being swamped by reports of the issue here in the ASC as we would be if the issue was widespread. So the journalists seem to have it right, it appears to have gone smoothly for most folks, however they updated.

  • IPhone 5 iOS 8 update fail

I tried to update my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and the update would not work for an untold reason. Now it says I must restore my iPhone, and fortunately I recently backed it up, but I can't restore my phone directly from the backup. I can't click on the option. Here is a screenshot of the problem, as you can see the option is grayed out.
If you've encountered this and know any way around it please help!
    Thanks!!

Have you checked to see if your phone is eligible for the Power button replacement?
