IOS 6 wireless sync not automatically starting?

Before iOS 6 my iPhone 4s would automatically synce each time I plugged the device into a power source.  After upgrading to iOS 6 this auto-sync w/ power no longer seems to happen.  Same story with my iPad2.  Anyone else aware of a problem like this?

It works fine on my gear.  Yours must not have the correct settings or may be faulty.

  • ADFS 2.0 service does not automatically start after reboot

    Hello,
We have two ADFS 2.0 servers in a farm.  Any time these servers reboot, the ADFS service does not automatically start, even though the service is set to auto start.  If I manually start the service it starts within 10 seconds.
The error in the logs show:
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the AD FS 2.0 Windows Service service to connect.
The AD FS 2.0 Windows Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
But after the reboot is completed, I can manually start the service with no problems.  Again, this ONLY happens on restart.  I've searched the forums and found potential solutions for people who have consistent issues with starting ADFS every time.
    Any ideas?

UPDATE - I built a 3rd ADFS server and was unable to reproduce the problem, until...
I went in to the service properties of ADFS and saw that even though I specified a Log On As account during the ADFS wizard, it changed itself back to "Network Service".  I re-entered our ADFS service account username and password, it was
accepted, and I rebooted.  On the next reboot, the service did not start automatically (with the same errors as the other ADFS servers), but I was able to manually start it.
I then went to the original ADFS server having the problem, switched it to use "Network Service", rebooted, and the service started up properly on reboot.  I then changed it back to the named domain service account, and the issue came right
back.  There are no other errors in the System Log indicating a problem with anything else.
So my guess is that something is happening to prevent the service from starting with the named Domain account on server reboot.  But what?

    Hi Shrinika,
did you try to "enable" scheduled mapping directly from OWB Design Center (or Control Center Manager)?
For enabling job from OWB client - rightclick on Control Center name and choose Job Monitor, in opened window select Schedule tab, select your job and "start" it.

  • Hello.  I am receiving "error codes" when trying to dowload songs.  It charges me but the songs never download and I have restarted itunes and it does not automatically start downloading as instructed online.  Help?

Hello.  I am receiving "error codes" when trying to dowload songs.  It charges me but the songs never download and I have restarted itunes and it does not automatically start downloading as instructed online.  Help?

I don't know exactly what they said b/c they are nolonger on my screen.  It said something to the effect of "incomplete dowload, there was an eror during the dowload of *Song*".
The songs purchased were showing in my purchased list with an "exclamation point" by them, which I believe indicates the download was incomplete.  I restarted iTunes and the songs are no longer on my "Purchased list".
I was still charged after restarting iTunes

  • IOS 5.1 sync fail to start

Just updated to iTunes 10.6 and iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4S.
Despite repeated attempts, including turning "sync over wi-fi" off, sync fails to start.

    Suggestion:
Assuming your OS software and version of iTunes are both up to date, with iPhone connected and iTunes running, Power Off iPhone (hold power button on top until red slider appears, then slide slider to power off), then power iPhone back on (hold power button on top until apple appears on iPhone screen).
In iTunes, with phone still connected, select iPhone in Devices and Summary screen, if phone does not sync after a minute or so, click Sync button in iTunes. If phone does not sync then, on iPhone choose Settings/General/iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and click Sync Now.
If that doesn't work, try changing a phone option in iTunes (such as un-check "Sync this phone over Wi-Fi"), and with phone still connected, quit then re-launch iTunes, and if Sync does not start automatically, click iTunes Sync button.
If iPhone still does not sync, I suggest calling 1-800-MY-IPHONE.
My iPhone still does not sync automatically daily over wi-fi even though that option is set, but it will sync  when connected to computer. So I am guessing there is still a bug somewhere.

  • IOS 5 Wireless Sync and D-Link DIR-655

Has anyone figured out the settings to be inputed into the DIR-655 settings menus in order for wireless sync to work between iTunes and iOS 5 devices?  I've read about every post I can find, and nothing is specifically helping.  (BTW, I had Comcast set my cable modem to "bridge", so that takes care of at least one issue that I've read about).
This wireless sync option, which is meant to make life easier, is driving me nuts.
    Thanks!

I had a similar problem and I needed a second computer (B) using a wired connection to the router to allow the other one (A) in. This is what I did:
    1. Using the wired computer (B) I opened up the network so any computer could join the network wirelessly.
    2. I joined the network with (A) wirelessly.
    3. Once I had successfully joined the network with (A) I used the wired computer (B) to do a search for new computers so (A) could be registered in the Access Control List.
    4. Using (B) I closed the network again.
    5. Now I could join the network with (A) wirelessly without any trouble.

  • Reporting Services not automatically starting. System event log 7009, Application event: 18456

For the past month (since Oct 11,2012)  reporting services (SSRS 2008R2) is not starting after the server is rebooted. The service is set to automatically start and starts manually without a problem.  The system event log contains the following error:
Event ID 7009: A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) service to connect.
    SQL logs :
The SQL logs has many "Event 18456 Login Failed, State 38" errors when the database engine starts. I assume clients conections are failing because the databases  aren't online yet. None of these 18456 errors coorespond to the account reporting services
    runs under.
The SQL logs indication Event 7009 occures before the "ReportingServer" database is online so im assuming there is a dependancy but I don't know how to avoid this.
This problem is occuring on a number of our servers running SSRS (if not all)
    Any ideas?
    Paul

    Hi A141695,
For Event ID 7009, you can try to do the steps below to resolve it.
        1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
        2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
            HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
        3. Right-click Control, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
        4. In the New Value #1 box, type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
        5. Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
        6. Click Decimal, type the number of milliseconds that you want to wait until the service times out, and then click OK.
For example, to wait 60 seconds before the service times out, type 60000.
Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer. For more information about it, please see:

  • Wireless Sync (not Bluetooth or WiFi)

I'm trying to find out if the "pushed" email/contacts feature is available on the iPhone. My Wife's Boss has it on her Treo using Version's Wireless Sync plan, and i believe Cingular/AT&T may have the same feature called Xpress mail, but i've not seen a Yes or NO anywhere concerning the iPhone.
basically, when her boss can't find a contact on her phone, she calls my wife and askes her to add it to her contacts on their exchange server (using Entourage), in few moments her Boss has it on her phone.
i haven't found anything that says absolutely "not a feature" on Apple or Cingular/AT&T's website. it is mentioned on Cingular/AT&T's site that the iPhone "Does not support enterprise e-mail such as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Good Mobile Messaging, or Microsoft Direct Push", but the wording on that seems very proprietary anyway (as though the BlackBerry Enterprise Server would only be available if you had a BlackBerry). However, it also says "iPhone [will] synch with your contacts and calendar from Outlook/Outlook Express or Mac Address Book and iCal", but can this be done through the carrier's network rather than only a local sync (bluetooth/itunes dock)?
on Verison's website they give a lot of info on their version of this feature but not much is mentioned on Cingular/AT&T, so i'm still wondering if it's a feature that is only available through Version, or if Cingular/AT&T is just not marketing it as well.
this seems like a real big downer if they don't have this as a possibility. all the other great new innovations are really great, but this seems to be a standard for corporate/enterprise, how could this not be a feature.

    Hi Gailid,
Do you know how your wife's company's exchange server connects to the AT&T network to update the phone?
I remember either Verizon or T-Mobile having something on their web site where you could enter your contacts using a computer with a keyboard and then send it to your phone to save having to use the numeric keypad to enter a large number of contact names.
I couldn't find a similar feature on AT&T's site; actually, it specifically says the iPhone doesn't support direct push (RIM and MS Mobile devices only) and that contacts must be syncronized using a USB connection and iTunes.
However, I suppose it's also possible to send an email with the contact information to an email account accessable by the iPhone and just dial the number from the email and store it in contacts on the iPhone at that point. Not very high-tech, I know, but it will do in a pinch.

  • Wireless backup not automatically

    Hi!
While the Time Capsule drive shows up when my MacBook connects to it wirelessly, TimeMachine doesn't start automatically. The TM preference pane says, that it'll perform the next backup, when 'Mac has benn connected' (original 'Wenn Mac angeschlossen ist'; it's a german system).
I can't believe that starting the Backup manually (which works via the menu bar menu) should be the normal behaviour. This would be far away from a) any learned Apple experience and b) the TC selling proposition "make backups easy".
How does wireless backup work on your systems? Does ist start automatically when the client 'sees' Time Capsule or is the above 'normal'?
    Thanks for any advice.
    Best regards,
    Stephan.

My MacBook Pro does the same thing with the new Time Capsule, fresh out of the box. The only way that I can run a TM backup is manually. Can anyone help? Must be a terminal command that I can invoke to make it work automatically?

  • Launchd applications not automatically starting at login

In the last couple of months I've noticed strange behaviour during startup/login wherein certain applications aren't automatically starting.
    In particular:
    - Evernote Helper
    - Mint QuickView
    - Growl
    - Possibly more, 1Password Helper maybe? Not sure
Each of these programs has a setting within them or their main application counterparts to start automatically at login. Whether this setting is on or not, the programs don't trigger.
    So far I've tried:
    - uninstalling, clearing out application files with Hazel, reinstalling
    - verifying the "Start at Login" settings in the plist preference files
    - looking at the launchd files for these program entries (present in the override files)
    - using Cocktail to repair/re-create the launchd files
Has anyone else experienced this? The work-around is to start these programs manually after login or in only some cases, add the program to the login items.
    Thanks

Things Helper is another program that's not starting at login. Oddly, Mint QuickView started for over a week straight, but no longer apparently. I haven't touched any settings or done anything seemingly related.

As above really, when i connect my iPhone 3G iTunes does not automaticly come up and sync the phone like it used to.
I now have to connect the iPhone and them click on iTunes.
Any ideas how to change this back, i've checked the iPhone settings in iTunes and 'Automaticlly sync when this iPhone is connected' is ticked.

  • Wireless sync not working for calender?

I’m not really sure what else to say about this problem other than everyone else in my office has no problems with their blackberrys syncing with their outlooks calenders ect.  I get my e-mail but my calendar doesn’t update.  My work e-mail isn’t my default calendar, don’t know if that’s the problem (even though I went to advanced options à default services, and it says that it is), I deleted my other e-mail off my phone to try to resolve the issue but nothing.  Also when I go into options under my calendar under wireless sync the option says No, but when I click it to change it all it does is bring up the menu to save or exit? Hopefully this info helps, I would really appreciate any input, my calendar not syncing is a big downside for me as I use my outlook calendar and my phone calendar a lot, and would like them together.
    Regards,Ryan

Well I must be on a BES because everyone else in my office has no problems with this feature.  And my only option for default calender is my work e-mail.
    Anyone?

  • IPad wireless sync not working

My iPad stopped wireless syncing. For some reason when I goto Settings/General/iTunes WiFi Sync the computer name for syncing is wrong.  My computer is named "xxxx" and my iPad seems to be trying to connect to "xxxx (2)". I have no computer/user on the macbook named that. When physically connected i can sync, but the ipad and macbook dont see each other otherwise. Is there a way to change the sought computer name on the ipad. This seems to be the way to make it work.

Well thanks all for your suggestions. I have now got it to work but after I restored iPad 2 back to previous version then reinstall ios5 onto iPad 2. Now it seems to be working fine and touch wood it will continue to be good for me lol.
    Thanks again all.

  • IOS 5 Wireless Sync

I love the new wireless sync to iTunes but was wondering if the same wireless sync is available for iPhoto?
I would find it hard to believe that Apple would over look this.
    PS: Thank you Steve

Oh crud....forgive my last post.  I was having problems getting the thing to synch when I re-read the post telling me that I had to have the iphone plugged into a wall for the wifi sync to work.....well I did that and it worked.  My reaction was what most people's would be....well what's the point of wireless synch if you still need the same cable?
But then I was doing what I described above, "sitting in the living room with the phone in my hand", and noticed that the "Sync Now" button was active, and it wasn't plugged into anything....***?  Well....I don't care if the post was right or wrong...the thing DOES work as advertised because I pushed that button and it synced just fine without being plugged into anything.  Probably just a combination of my own inattention to detail and incomplete documentation of these features.  I don't care really...... I'm happy it's working and I hope everyone else gets theirs working without all the confusion.

  • Unable to sync new iPhone 4s. I have iTunes version 10.6.1. Using Windows 7. My device appears on iTunes but I am not able to select the sync option and it does not automatically start the sync option when plugged in. Ive tried reseting the device.

I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes. The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
