IOS 7.0.1 upgrade on Iphone 5 failed, now stuck!
Hi,
Whilst upgrading my wifes phone it failed with "unknown error" now it's stuck showing the itunes - USB connection picture no matter what I do, have pressed power and home buttons to reboot with no effect - also now not recognised by iTunes or computor (Windows 7) when plugged in - help!?

Welcome to the Support Communities! The articles below will help you troubleshoot the issue you are having with upgrading your iPhone. The first step would be to upgrade your iTunes software to the latest version on your PC. Then try connecting your iPhone again to see if it is recognized. Placing your iPhone in Recovery mode should get you to the point of restoring your phone. Data will be deleted, so a backup of your iPhone will be needed at this point.

Hello. I was like this yesterday after upgrading 5.1.1. The proccess failed and the iphone only showed the USB cable with the iTunes logo.
What I did was connect the iphone to my wife's PC, and there, with a clean itunes installation, install a clean 5.1.1. Then, went back to my iMac and connect it again, and now it works.
But now, with my iphone working as new, it still cannot be showed up in itunes. I am still working on it.

IOS 5.0.1 upgrade on iPhone 3GS,
Prior to iOS 5.0.1 upgrade on iPhone 3GS, I could readily connect to and use a variety of wireless networks at home, work, and on road.
Since installing the upgrade as prompted on device, I find WiFi is unstable to unusable.
Unless the device is sitting practically on top of a router, I cannot maintain connections.
If I am more than 2 ft out of direct line of sught of router, I lose my connection.
I have to date read and completed the following online suggestions with no success:
1-Restarted router - NO CHANGE
2-Reset Network Settings on device - NO CHANGE
3-Toggled in and out of Airplane mode - NO CHANGE
4-Completed various options for start/restart of device - NO CHANGE
5-Disabled all other services using battery at same time (Bluetooth/Location Services, Mail, Reduced Backlight even) - NO CHANGE
6-Forgotten prior networks - NO CHANGE
7-Attempted to assign Static IP to device on router side - NO CHANGE
8-Restored from backup - NO CHANGE
8a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
9-Restored to Factory state - NO CHANGE
9a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
10-Changed Router security from OPEN to most SECURE - NO CHANGE
10a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
11-Setup new router - NO CHANGE
11a-Repeat 1-6 and 10 again - NO CHANGE
During all of this multiple iOS 4.x devices and iOS 5.0 devices have been on the routers connecting as always.
The device in question functioned perfectly up to the point of iOS 5.0.1 so I know this is not a iPHONE hardware issue nor is it a ROUTER hardware issue.
I have seen this posted frequently and do not believe this to be an isolated state I am in.
Any thoughts and suggestions before moving to another manufacturer all together and get out of this Apple mindset.Nothing personal (or maybe just a little personal), but simply copying my post from a day earlier as your own is not helpful to the Apple communities or people that coming here looking for support.
It does nothing more than add a duplicate post and decrease the chances that someone might actually include a reference to my original post, which came from MY OWN HARD WORK in troubleshooting my issues.
If you are having a similar issue, post the issue after doing your own leg work and describe in your own words. Don't simple steal someone else's hard work to troubleshoot the problem as your own effort. -

I just upgraded my iphone and now whenever it goes to sleep I have to enter a password to open it. Very frustrating! Can I disable this annoying feature? I went to Settings and disabled the Find My Phone feature thinking that would do it. But it didn't.

I had the same problem. After numerous attemps to Restore from Itunes, I decided to use the "Setup as New Ipad" option. It went through a few question on new setups. Afterwards all my apps, data, photo's were still intact. Which shows that the Restore from Itunes worked. There must be a small bug that prevents the Ipad to open after "Restore from Itunes" . Hope it will help you.

I have just downloaded iOS 7.0.2 to my iPhone, but now I am stuck in the icloud agree to terms & conditions, i press agree and nothing happens, it just says confirm, I press agree again and nothing, which means I am locked out! Any ideas

Try to backup and restore, as described here in the link below. If necessary force the iPhone in Recovery mode:

Download iOS 8 once and upgrade all iPhones at home, how?
Is it possible to download iOS8 only once and use it to upgrade all iPhones at home?
I tried the following methods and they are just not working:
1. Connect an iPhone to the iTunes on Mac. I chose Download Only. Once downloaded the iPhone Software Upgrade, I upgraded the connected iPhone to iOS8. Then I connect another iPhone (used to be on another Mac) to the same iTunes. I had to download iOS 8 again. It's not using the same downloaded iOS 8 file.
2. I turned on the Caching Service (not Software Upgrade Service, i.e. for Mac Software) on the Mac Mini Server from the Server app. I then repeat step 1 above and got the same result. It seems that the Caching Service does not cache the iOS 8 Software Upgrade like what it does for other apps. (I think I may need to use some Apple Scripts but I have no such experience.)Ivan H wrote:

I agree with Csound on that, a family, even with a lot of devices will have to individually update. There are enough nuances in the iOS for different devices that you need to download for each. If you had 200 iPad 2's then there might be an enterprise way...but not a family with a mix of devices. -

I upgraded my Iphone to IOS6, but now I can't connect it to itunes (10.6.3) because it is not upgraded. However, when I want to upgraded, it says that my computer (imac Mac OS 10.5.8) needs to be upgraded to another version. I can't find anything to help me out.

You must scroll down until you see the Agree button. Even after you Agree, another pop-up may ask you to Agree again.

Just updated to ios 7.0.3 on my iphone 4 now says i need to restore
i just updated to ios 7.0.3 on my iphone 4. Now it is forcing me to restore to factory settings. Will I lose my contacts?
Yes iMessage was barely working before (resetting network settings is what got it sort of working), but after 7.0.3, it's more broken than ever. I can't send ANY texts to iMessage users, even if iMessage is shut off. I tried resetting, I also tried resetting network settings again, but nothing has helped. It won't let me activate it.
FindMyFriends keeps giving me a prompt to connect to iTunes. And no matter how many time i click OK, it just keeps popping up. I have to try to click my way out of it faster than the prompt appears, or i just get stuck in an endless loop. And with how slow iOS 7 is on an iPhone 4, it's a bit if a challenge.
This is the first time I'm actually ready to start looking at other phones, these problem have been BEYOND frustrating. -
Hi, I have an Iphone 3g that is "Not" jailbroken, nor do I want it to be jailbroken. However, I had been having problems with it shuting down and not starting again. So, I tried to update and restore only to get an "error" 1015.
It is now stuck on "connect to itunes"

Carriers can blacklist devices from their network. If that is what has occurred, only the carrier can remove the blacklist. This should have nothing to do with your ability to activate the device and use it as an iPod.
