IOS 7.0.2 upgrade problem

Today I made the iPad my daughter upgrade from IOS 7 to IOS 7.0.2 via wireless.
In the middle of updating the iPad had with the screen asking to connect to iTunes. Connected but there was no way I had to go back to the original factory setting.
The problem is had no backup at iCloud or iTunes on your computer. We lost a lot of photos ...
I tried to recover with some software I found on the internet: Wondershare Dr. Phone and Tenorshare iPad Data Recovery and nothing.
Does anyone have any idea how to try to recover at least some pictures?

Hello LDinaz,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store on your iPad 2.  For the issue you are experiencing, I recommend signing out and back into the iTunes Store on your iPad 2:
Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
The last step states to sign in with another account, but for the situation you described, I recommend just signing in with your same Apple ID.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
If the issue persists after signing out and back in, I recommend following the iOS steps in the section titled "Isolate the issue: (Mac OS X, Windows, iOS)" in the following article (you can skip any steps you have already taken):

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Since iOS 8.1.2 upgrade problems with yahoo mail via apple mail client

Since the upgrade to iOS 8.1.2 on my iPad I'm having issues with my yahoo mail account when using the apple mail client. I can send emails but cannot receive them. When I use the yahoo mail app there is no problem Sending or receiving. I have deleted and reinstalled my yahoo email account from the apple mail client. I have checked the wifi by changing between wifi hotspots. I have also restarted the iPad as well as resetting. None of these actions have resolved the problem. would appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

Do you use two-step verification for your Yahoo! account? If yes, you need an app-specific password.
If no, make sure your password is already entered in the "Outgoing Mail Server" in the Settings app.

I'm trying to upgrade my software to iOS 7.0.3 and keep getting an error that they can't verify because I'm not connected to the internet.  Yet I am connected.  I tried going off wifi to the Verizon network and back to my wifi but keep getting the same error.  Anyone know how to resolve this?

  • IOS 5.0.1 upgrade problems

    HI there
I need some help after trying to upgrade my iphone 3gs to 5.0.1. I am unable to activate my iphone.
Went through all downloads / upgrades / restores etc. but when the phone started up I could get no service, although the wireless connection can be obtained. On Itunes the message 'no sim card inserted' is received, (but there is, and have reseated this several times) the phone says 'the activation server is temporarily unavailable'.
To summarise, I have gone from a fully working handset on 4.3.3 to one that is completely unusable now ! Before attempting this I managed to upgrade my Ipad  successfully, so am not sure what has happened here.
Please could anyone suggest anything ?
    Thanks
    Barrie

As far as I am aware this is factory unlocked.  The most recent upgrade took place in June. Does this help at all ?
Possibly.  There is a more recent version of 5.0.1 meant to fix the "No SIM" or "No Service" bug in the iPhone 4S, but it doesn't refer to other iPhone models.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4148
You can try restoring the new version and see if this helps.
The other, more likely, possibility is if you purchased the phone from a 3rd party, the phone may have been hacked to unlock in which case the update to 5.0.1 re-locked it to the original carrier.  Many phone sold by re-sellers or ebay are actually hacked and not factory unlocked.

It isn’t possible to downgrade the device. Look for solutions which don’t involve doing so, or post the problem you’re having on these boards.

  • Upgraded to IOS 5 software and having problems synching music with my laptop

Not sure what happened, but after I downloaded the IOS 5.0 software upgrade I kept getting errors when trying to synch the ipone with itunes on my primary laptop that runs Windows Vista. None of my music can be synched becaise I continually get an error that the device is not recognized.

I would suggest opening "Apple Software Update" (from "All Programs" under "Start") so as to ensure that you have the most up-to-date version of iTunes.
    Hope this helps!

  • IOS 5.0.1 upgrade on iPhone 3GS,

Prior to iOS 5.0.1 upgrade on iPhone 3GS, I could readily connect to and use a variety of wireless networks at home, work, and on road.
Since installing the upgrade as prompted on device, I find WiFi is unstable to unusable.
Unless the device is sitting practically on top of a router, I cannot maintain connections.
If I am more than 2 ft out of direct line of sught of router, I lose my connection.
I have to date read and completed the following online suggestions with no success:
    1-Restarted router - NO CHANGE
2-Reset Network Settings on device - NO CHANGE
3-Toggled in and out of Airplane mode - NO CHANGE
4-Completed various options for start/restart of device - NO CHANGE
5-Disabled all other services using battery at same time (Bluetooth/Location Services, Mail, Reduced Backlight even) - NO CHANGE
6-Forgotten prior networks - NO CHANGE
7-Attempted to assign Static IP to device on router side - NO CHANGE
8-Restored from backup - NO CHANGE
    8a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
9-Restored to Factory state - NO CHANGE
    9a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
10-Changed Router security from OPEN to most SECURE - NO CHANGE
    10a-Repeat 1-6 again - NO CHANGE
11-Setup new router - NO CHANGE
    11a-Repeat 1-6 and 10 again - NO CHANGE
During all of this multiple iOS 4.x devices and iOS 5.0 devices have been on the routers connecting as always.
The device in question functioned perfectly up to the point of iOS 5.0.1 so I know this is not a iPHONE hardware issue nor is it a ROUTER hardware issue.
I have seen this posted frequently and do not believe this to be an isolated state I am in.
Any thoughts and suggestions before moving to another manufacturer all together and get out of this Apple mindset.

Nothing personal (or maybe just a little personal), but simply copying my post from a day earlier as your own is not helpful to the Apple communities or people that coming here looking for support.
It does nothing more than add a duplicate post and decrease the chances that someone might actually include a reference to my original post, which came from MY OWN HARD WORK in troubleshooting my issues.
If you are having a similar issue, post the issue after doing your own leg work and describe in your own words.  Don't simple steal someone else's hard work to troubleshoot the problem as your own effort.

  • IOS 5.0.1 upgrade, devices hangs in shuffle mode

Hello, I have an original iPad and the newest iPod touch and ever since the iOS 5.0.1 upgrade, both devices hang after a while when playing either all songs or a playlist in shuffle mode. It gets to a point where the song playing doesnt match the song displayed then on the next song it hangs. At this point I have to close iTunes and start over. Sometimes it hangs after a few songs and sometimes after 30-40 minutes.
This has made shuffle mode unusable ( which is what I primarily use). It never did this prior to 5.0.1.   Thoughts?

I did the back-up / restore option all from within iTunes. Still no problems so that appears to be the fix until Apple recognizes it and puts out a fix.

  • IOS 5.0.1 upgrade fails!

Can't upgrade to iOS 5! After completion of downloading the iOS 5.0.1 upgrade package a message appears that says: (There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. The network connection timed out.) But my network is working very well. I treid 3 times, but failed, so what should I do?

I had the same problem using windows with IE7. Use google chrome or safari or a higher IE. That helped for me

  • After the latest iOS 5.0.1 upgrade I can't receive sms (only iMessage)

After the latest iOS 5.0.1 upgrade on my iPhone 4s (carrier is AT&T) I can't receive sms. I can send messages, I assume they are all going through iMessage, but unless someone is using iMessage, I dont' receive a reply.  I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T and they said its an issue with the latest patch and that apple is working on it.  Here is what we did:
    1. Soft reset
    2. Reset network connection
    3. Deleted all messages and closed Messages app
    4. Reactivated the phone
    5. AT&T checked all the settings on their end
    6. Restored the phone to factory settings and restored from back-up
Is anyone else having this problem?  And more importantly has anyone been able to fix it?  And if so, how?

Try this... You will Not Lose Any Data...
    Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Phone On...

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Why don't I have reduce motion option with iOS 7.0.2 upgrade?

Why don't I have reduce motion option with iOS 7.0.2 upgrade?  It is making me really dizzy and sick to my stomach similar to reading in the car (can't do that either).  I read to go into general settings, accessibility and click reduce motion....I do not have this option at all.  HELP!

Seconded. Although my main problem w/ that zoom-out-as-app-loads effect is that I suspect it's the source of that annoying delay between app zooming open & UI being active/accepting input. When I switch between apps, after the zoom completes, there's 1-2 seconds where the app accepts no UI input at all. This seemed instantaneous in iOS 6.
(Oh, off-topic, but the control center is devilishly hard to sweep up. most of the time I accidentally start Safari or Mail.)
