IOS 7.0.3 version - thoughts

I received the notification that Apple has released iOS 7.0.3.
However this was error due to downloading failure.
After that i google online to find out more what latest update for this version.
But i found out a lot of problems come along with this version.
- The phone shut down and display black sreen with Apple or itune logo for hours.
- SIM Card locked by itself.
- Battery drains out within an hour.
- After updated need to reset to "Factory Setting".
- The Home Screen black-out.
- Can't turn on for long time, possibly "die".
- iMessage can't work probably
- Need to register the new Apple ID via itune
- No sounds for phone tones & volume up button no go, & mute button doesn't work
- Touch Screen LAG
- The screen can't slide, even can't turn off & on
- Restarting itself randomly
-etc, etc, etc....
It becomes worst though. I am resides in Asia and this version comes to me on yesterday.
Compare with the points above said, RISK vs REWARDS, i prefer don't going to update iOS 7.0.3.
Hopefully iOS 7.0.4 will coming out in very eral soon to keep this version fixed.
If you feel that previous version is good for you, without any problem or issue, please stick to it.
I can see there is no more suprise comparing to disappointment has been made by Apple.

Where have you found the API's for DEP? Have they been publicly released?

Bugs in ios 5.1(9b179) version.

There are too many bugs in ios 5.1(9b179) version. When moving towards the search iphone the keypad automatically moves up and then while going back to home screen it stays so for which one has to restart the phone.Another bug is app refuses to install on on wiifii networks.Please find the solution of this problem.

find the IPSW file and delete it. then, backup the iPhone and restore it. this will force itunes to download a new IPSW file (the installation file or iOS). then, before you restore form backup, test the iPhone while it's empty.
if you must resotre from backup, turn off automatic syncing in iTunes first... but, if the bug is in your settings, then restoring the iPhone from backup might bring the bug back onto the iPhone.

You can't install the newer ios apps since the CPU and internal RAM inside an ipod touch 1G can not support the demands of the newer software. There are still many many many apps available that will work. The trick is finding them.

you can't install logic pro x on a iOS device....you said laptop so i guess you mean OS X not iOS ....you can't have 16mb ram/memory but probably 16gb....but to your question...
NO DO NOT UPDATE, logic pro x is working better on mavericks then on yosemite!

Restoring your phone, as is required to complete the unlock of your phone WILL update your iOS to the most current version. There's no way around this.
Either you keep 5.0.1 and a locked phone, or you get 6.0 and an unlocked phone. Your choice.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:

GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system. But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio. Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

Do you mean you can't restore your iCloud backup? If so, then set the phone up as new. Update iOS, then erase it and restore from your iCloud backup.
If that is not what you mean, then you need to explain further.
