IOs 7.0.4, and my iPod Touch 5th gen has stopped recognizing the majority of my songs

Hi,
I recently updated my iPod to iOS 7.0.4 and when I went to play some songs in my iTunes library the music player would skip past most of the songs and remove them from my library. Sometimes this would happen across all the songs under an artist, however it would still display that I had 30+ songs available from the menu. I have tried resetting my iPod, but this didn't help.
Any suggestions?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I have an Ipad and an Ipod Touch 5th gen both on the latest firmwares but they won't connect via Bluetooth whenever I try even though both shows that the devices are discoverable. I also tried connecting them with my Bluetooth enabled laptop but it also didn't worked. Because of the Bluetooth not working I also can't enable airdrop.

To share content with AirDrop, both people need one of these devices using iOS 7 or later, or a Mac with OS X Yosemite:

    iPad (4th generation or later)
    iPad mini
    iPod touch (5th generation)
You also need to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If you want to share with your contacts, sign in to your iCloud account.

To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.
In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
your iOS device needs to include a lightning connector
your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed
your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model with OS X Yosemite installed
Your Mac and iOS device both need bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on. You do not have to be connected to a specific Wi-Fi network.
To transfer files between two Mac computers, you need the Mac models listed below with Wi-Fi turned on and OS X Lion or later installed.

*The MacBook Pro (17-Inch Late 2008) and the white MacBook (Late 2008) do not support AirDrop.
For help identifying your Mac, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. You can refer to the Apple Support website to find out if your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch includes a lightning connector.

  • Is there any way to get my photos and videos off a ipod touch 5th gen that went through the was and does not work anymore?

My ipod touch 5th gen went through the wash the other day while it was on and it came out not working at all. I was wondering if there was a way to get any of my photos and videos off of it so i could put them on my computer. Anything will do, from do it yourself methods to companies that will do it for you.

    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore another iPod, iPad or iPhone from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting photos (only) from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - A data recovery company can likely get them off the iPod. Be prepared to pay alot. Google for iPhone data recovery

  • How can I disable iCloud on my iMac and my iPod touch 5th gen?

My ipod touch 5th gen now syncs through icloud. How can I disable icloud from my ipod and my imac and go back to syncing through iTunes.  Is it possible to do this without losing the data in contacts and ical?  Any ideas would be much appreciated!

With the iPod connected to your computer go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck the box that says: Sync with this iPod over Wi-Fi.
Also in the Summary pane check the box that says backup to the computer.

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Double check to make sure the headphones are plugged ALL the way in meaning the white part of the headphones is flush with the Nano and no silver from the plug can still be seen.
The new headphone jacks are a bit tigher than previous generations and require a little bit of extra force to get the headphones to fully connect.

  • HT5642 my ipod touch 5th gen is not recognized since I tried to update ios. It says it is in recovery mode but it just keeps looping back to recovery mode. I tried holging power button for 3 sec. then both home and power for 10 sec then home button for 20

My ipod touch 5th generation went into recovery mode when I tried to update ios. When I try to recover it just keeps looping back to recovery mode. I tried to hold the power button for 3 secs. then simultaneously hold the home button for 10 secs. then hold only power button for 20 secs. I tried this several times to no avail. This is my daughter's ipod. I am computer illiterate and I'm not sure what else to try.

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • What are the differences between new and refurbed ipod touch 5th gen.?

I'm about to purchase an ipod touch 5th generation, but I see there are some very nice units available from apple as refurbished. I was wondering what the differences are between the new (purchased today) and the refurbed (released sept. 2012)?

The only difference is that a refurbished iPod has been used before (or at least was sold before) and remanufactured. There are no differences in functionality or cosmetics between a new iPod and a refurbished unit of the same model and capacity.
    Regards.

  • Should I get the iPod Touch 5th Gen or wait for the 6 gen?

I am going to buy the iPod touch 5 gen 32gb but I don't know if I should wait for the 6th Generation
Is there any rumors of the iPod touch 6th generations

The 5th gen iPod touch has only been released for around 10 months. Before that it had been almost two years since the 4th gen was released. There have been no rumors of a new one, and even if there had been, they wouldn't be allowed to be discussed on this forum.

  • I received an ipod touch 5th gen for Christmas.  The first songs i've downloaded and synced with my touch have created ghost songs.  They are only on my computer in itunes once but appear on my ipod twice, one copy that won't play.  I can't delete them

The first songs i've downloaded and synced with my new touch have created ghost songs.  They are only on my computer in itunes once but appear on my ipod twice, one copy that won't play.  I can't delete them.  I've tried unticking all the music that was on the ipod via itunes and re-syncing, which in theory should delete all music from my ipod.  It does except for the 5 ghost songs.   So at present I have no music on ipod except the 5 ghost songs.   Has anyone got any ideas how I can get rid of these?
I had no problems with my ipod touch 4th, which I had for years.   Any help would be great.

I Have a kenwood ddx 370 touch screen HU installed in my car, and i can'y get sound from my speakers when its in ipod mode, and the wires are plugged in to the HU. I used to own a iphone 4, and a iphone 4s that both worked. now this issue is strange with not getting sound, as everything else works.
it charges, it is recognized by the HU, displays all the album art song etc, but just not hearing the sound.
my radio, xm radio cd and all that work fine. its strange how the phone does everything on the radio but have sound coming out of speakers. when i just use the aux cable i get the sound, but none from usb/ipod option. anyone familiar with this, and how to fix this?
i just got the ipod touch no even a week ago either, and it was brand new.

Does Kenwood say it will work with a 5G iPod (or iiPhone 5)?
