Well i just got an ipad mini and when i updated to the latest ios some things are very slow like scrolling and taking the notification center down... its very slow ... But with some changes that are not to be consider permanent because i hope this get fixed soon you can speed up your ipad mini.
In settings go to general and accessibility and then turn on reduce motion and increase contrast..

You can not restore without using the latest available os, unless hyou have jailbroken your device. Apple does not support downgrades on iops devices. and if jailbroken, your warrenty and support is no longer valid including assistance from this forum.

I Installed ios 8.1 on my iPad mini, then had trouble with it being really slow and glitchy. So I powered it off. When I tried to turn it on again, it just free at the apple logo. I tried to reboot (held the home button and power button), but again when I tried to turn it on, it froze at the logo - and that's where it is stuck now.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)

1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup

Since I updated iOS on my iphon4s and iPad mini i cant get mirroring via my vga-cabel to my smartboard projector to word anymore. I used to be able to swipe right twice to chose mirroring via my Apple cable. Why doesn't it work anymore?
All the threads I can find on the subject talks about using appletv but I need to connect via cable! It used to work (before ios7).

The article from which the issue was posted clearly explains how to access AirPlay in iOS7.
Granted, what is being attempted has nothing to do with AirPlay or Mirroring.
The feature that you're looking for is in Control Center... assuming the cable actually works. If it does not work, the feature will not be accessible.

Try shutting off by holding down the home and power button at the same time. Once turned back on you can try downloading again. Be sure you have at least 50% of battery life before starting.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Are you trying to use the phone in Bahrain with a supported carrier there? I suspect not. If you try to use this phone outside of Bahrain, you won't have FaceTime. This is done to prevent folks from simply crossing the border to purchase iPhones in Bahrain...FaceTime is banned in Saudi Arabia & the UAE. Sorry, but you'll only have FaceTime on that phone while using it in Bahrain on a supported carrier's network there.

Hi Go to Settings Restore to Factory, Settings. This will get rid of any bugs. Use same Apple id & password then you will get all your Apps, & Data back. I do a Restore, every 2 months or so it speeds, iphone & ipad up a bit. Cheers Brian

Start by closing all apps and resetting your iPad and see if that helps with any of your issues.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it. Close all of the apps on the iPad this way.

I want to buy an Ipad Mini 2, BUT On my mba

Okay, first time here: I am most interested in getting this Ipad Mini 2 but needed to make sure it does what it should do. After all, it is using the same IOS7 as my Iphone5 and MBA where I have no problems getting closed captioning (CC) on both of my Hulu and Netflix accounts. Unfortunately, while at the San Francisco main Apple store, I tested with my accounts on their Ipad Mini 2. The CC was not working. Three Apple techies helped me on at least three different Ipad Mini 2 and had no success. So, we all agreed that it probably is a glitch. Thus, I am looking out to you all in this community. Did you have any issues or successes? I suspect that their Ipad Mini 2's system were set up as a store demo rather than a free-spirited type! 8^) Thoughts anyone?

Yeah, of course you can. All you do is, open PhotoBooth, record your video and then, once you have stopped the video recording just drag the movie out of the bottom of PhotoBooth onto the desktop. It is in .mov format so you can then add it to iMovie for further editing or just upload it to youTube as it is.

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

IPad 2 and iPad Mini Slow and Buggy after iOS8 "Fix"

After living with an EXCEPTIONALLY slow and buggy iPad Mini (1st gen, still available from Apple Store, BTW) since iOS8 was released, I discovered something...
Deleting the Facebook App and the Facebook Messenger App - AND THEN REBOOTING THE iPAD - makes a DRAMATIC difference in performance of the entire iPad...
Once deleted and rebooted, you'll be able to:
1. Cut, copy and paste work again
2. Say goodbye to those long periods waiting for apps to load, crash and reload
3. Run faster and much more reliably
I have NO idea why FB and iOS 8 on older devices is a problem at the system level, but I have found that it DEFINITELY is. All it takes is running FB once on a freshly booted iPad and the problems begin.
I deleted those after trying every fix every person on the discussion board suggested (settings, resetting networks, etc) and it's been several days of an iPad running the way it did under iOS7.
SO...don't shoot the messenger. While this isn't a permanent 'fix', it DOES fix the iPad/iOS8 problems except for the fact that you'll need to use FB from Safari or a browser until they sort it out.
Again, these are my findings. I'd love to see if others experience the same thing... If this doesn't work for you, you can always reinstall FB.

I too am having a similar issue though most of it is with browsing on Safari. That is the load speed of pages became 1990s dailup slow. I believe it has to do with memory, or lack thereof. Something in iOS8 is chugging the system and slowing everything down. I don't know of any solutions. Very frustrating.

I have an iPad mini 1st gen (non retina) and am an Apple Developer. In my opinion, iOS 7 was the best OS I have ever had on my iPad, but since I upgrade to iOS 8 the device has been extremely laggy. I have considered reverting back to iOS 7, but I need 8 for development with Xcode 6. I really need both OSs' to match my needs, but don't want to wipe the entire iPad each time when switching. So I was wondering if the iPad could in any way be able to dual boot the two operating systems. Thanks in advance!

And you cannot downgrade to iOS 7 either. Apple does not provide a path for downgrading. Even if you were to get the iOS on the device, you would not be able to complete the activation, because Apple is no longer signing iOS 7.
