Ios 7.0.6 break hot spot sharing

My IPAD mini hot spot stopped working after upgrade.
I am not able to connect my laptop to internet via IPAD mini, connection is established I am opening one site in web browser and after that connection is going to limited access state without internet.
I reset to factory defaults my  ipad mini but this not helped, I have also excluded problem with my laptop as this was working few days ago and I have even reinstalled whole windows but without luck

Hi,
thanks to ThePackdonkey, replacing one letter in password helped. Seems when I using small letters it is not working, when I replace any letter for large it is working fine.
Before password  was:
dawiddawid
after changing to:
Dawiddawid
it is working fine.
BTW
does anybody know why this problem exists, wpa2 standard doesn`t define what should be key to wirelles network, for me it seems that Apple has screwed up soemthing with new update to ios 7.0.6

  • Since downloading IOS 7.0 on my iPhone 4 I do not have the ability to connect to wifi.  I can't even move the on/off button at all. Also, the "personal hot spot"

Since downloading IOS 7.0 on my iPhone 4, I cannot connect to wifi. The button is greyed out, so I can't even turn it on. I can't download the upgraded version that fixes some of the bugs because you have to be able to connect to the internet to download it.  I also noticed that under "Settings", my Bluetooth and Personal Hot Spot settings are constantly roaming with the circle that just keeps going around and around. I've tried everthing (I think). It was directly related to the 7.0 download because it happened right away. Any ideas? I listen to a lot of eBooks when I commute each day and I need to connect to the internet to download the full versions. I miss my books!!

See if this helps you with the wifi issue. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

  • Hot spot s not visible after latest iOS version update on my iPad please help

hey personal hot spot is not visible after iOS latest version update on my iPad mini please help

    Hey Devinder from chd,
For most issues with Personal Hotspot, try out the basic troubleshooting in the article below. It does talk about iPhone but the troubleshooting is the same for your iPad. If you are still having issues, let me know and I can see what else we can do after that.
    iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203302
    Basic troubleshooting
See if your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
Make sure Personal Hotspot is on: Tap Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Check the Internet connection on your iOS device: Tap Safari and load a new webpage.
If one connection type doesn't work, try another. For example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, use USB or Bluetooth.
Turn Personal Hotspot off and on: Tap Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Install the latest version of iOS.
Reset your network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If you still see the issue, restore the iPhone.
     Take it easy,
    -Norm G.

  • IPad 2 as hot spot

I have an iPad 2 model MC984c/a and would like to know if it is hot spot capable and if so how to do it.

    Hello r.pet4,
It sounds like you have an iPad 2 and want to know if it can support Personal Hotspot. According to the following article, it appears that this function is only available on the iPad 3 and later:

Learn how to share your cellular data connection using Personal Hotspot, the Internet-sharing feature on iPhone, iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular or later, and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular.

Did you update to iOS 7? If yes you need to update iTunes on your computer to iTunes 11.1
If you are using iTunes 11.0 and iOS 6.x then show the left sidebar in iTunes.
When in iTunes on your computer use the View menu to View Sidebar. The device should show up there when connected.

  • Is there a way to turn on the mobile hot spot function for a day from the phone?

I have an unlimited data plan.  It costs $30 a month to add the mobile hot spot feature which I only need a day or two a month.  I know that it can be turned on and off via Custom Service and that I would only pay for the time it was on at roughly $1.00/day.  Unfortunately, going through custom service is time consuming.  Ideally I would like an app that lets me turn the mobile hot spot feature on and off from the phone.
There are two components to a mobile hot spot.  First you need to active the feature through customer service at which point billing starts and then you need to enable it on the phone.  The problem is activating and deactiving the feature.
Is there an app to do this?

FWIW, I'd love to turn off passcodes *permanently* on my five iOS devices running iOS 8.1.
    Is this possible anymore?
So far, iOS 8.1 insists (after awhile) that I *must* re-implement a passcode.
(FWIW, with iOS 7 I could turn off passcodes permanently, sending iPads to sales prospects secure in the knowledge they could easily operate the iPad over the course of several weeks, reviewing media devoted to their projects, and not finding themselves locked out.)
    Advice much appreciated.

  • HT3574 bluetooth and hot spot iphone5 to Ipad 2 and Mac????

Hi, I just got an Iphone 5 and first of all I am not able to pair my Ipad and Mac to the Iphone with Bluetooth. I also just got the personal hotspot on the Iphone 5 but I doesn't work with bluetooth, nor with USB  clabe and neither with the other network.
    Thanks
    Sara

Hi - thanks for your response.
I do not use bluetooth - Should I.  I am using the hot spot capability  with the new Ipad Air in the same way that I used it with my Mac Book pro.  I have reset the connection but not restored the IOS as yet since it is only one month old.  I have the new Air.  I thought that the connection was supposed to use cellular data "on" and "personal hot spot on"  that enables the phone to act like a WiFi connection similar to a router we have at home.  I learned from a discussion with Apple that the Ipad once it goes to sleep will disconnect from the network.
To be clear I - I got the Ipad to use as an internet/mail connection using the Iphone hot spot in lieu of lugging along the Mac Book Pro.
Hopefully that clarifies any issues.  I will not really know until I go back to my New Mexico House is signal strength is an issue.  I think not
    thanks

  • How do I connect my mac to t-moble hot spot on my android

how do I connect my mac to t-moble hot spot on my android

    Hi bubbamartin,
As an iPhone user I'm not too familiar with Android, however I have had a browse and came across a great article which explains in detail How to Use Your Android Phone as a Portable WiFi Hotspot
Turn on the Portable WiFi Hotspot:
Go to the Settings screen on your Android phone. You can get there by pressing the menu button on your device when you're on the home screen, then tapping "Settings".
At the Settings screen, tap the "Wireless & networks" option.
You should see an option for "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot". Click the check mark beside it to turn on the hotspot and your phone will start acting like a wireless access point. (You should see a message in the notification bar when it's activated.)
To adjust and check the settings for the hotspot, tap the aptly named "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" option. You'll need to do this if you don't know the default password that will be created for your hotspot so you can make a note of it for connecting your other devices.
You can change the default password, security level, router name (SSID), and also manage users connected wirelessly to your phone in the Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
Now your Hotspot is set up, go to your Macs Wireless Settings, you should be able to see your Android device listen in the available networks. Enter the password which you can edit in the 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings' to connect and you're all set!
    Tips and Considerations:
Make sure you turn off the Wi-Fi hotspot feature when you no longer need shared Internet access from the other devices, since this can drain your cell phone's battery significantly.
By default, the portable Wi-Fi hotspot will most likely be set up with WPA2 security and a generic password. If you're using this feature in a public place or concerned about hackers trying to intercept your data, it's best to change the password to something else before broadcasting your signal.
Keep in mind again that your cell phone company might charge extra for this feature and/or have data restrictions on its usage, so make sure you check your plan or with your carrier for more information.
    Good luck!

  • Does setting up a personal hot spot allow other people to use up your cellular data

by setting up your own personal hot spot does it allow other people to use up you cellular data?

Basically yes.  Personal Hotspot means you are sharing out your Cellular Data connection.
If you give the Hotspot password to someone they will use your Cellular data to access the internet.

  • My iPhone 5 keeps wanting to connect to my hot spot

My iPhone 5 keeps on wanting to connect to my hot spot. will not let me select to setting to stop can some one help

    Hi RouxWessels,
Are you saying that you are unable to go to Settings and turn your Personal Hotspot to OFF?
If that is the case, the article below will provide some troubleshooting steps:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot
    Basic troubleshooting
Confirm that your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
Verify that Personal Hotspot is enabled by tapping Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Verify the Internet connection on your iOS device by tapping Safari and loading a new webpage.
If one connection type doesn't work, try another (for example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, try using USB or Bluetooth).
Try disabling and reenabling Personal Hotspot from Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Install the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If none of the previous steps resolves your issue, restore the iPhone.
If you are still experiencing issues, continue with the following troubleshooting steps.Collapse All Sections | Expand All Sections

    Additional Information
    Additional tips
Depending on your cellular network connection, incoming or outgoing phone calls may interrupt your Personal Hotspot connection. After you end the call, Personal Hotspot should automatically reconnect with your devices.
If you are outside your wireless carrier's network coverage area, you may be roaming. If that is the case, you will need to have Settings > General > Cellular > Data Roaming set to On to use Personal Hotspot.Data roaming charges will apply. Check with your wireless carrier if you are roaming to verify any additional charges.
When Personal Hotspot is enabled, your iOS device automatically shares your Internet connection with your computer when connected using USB.
Example: When you connect iPhone to your computer to charge or sync with iTunes. To avoid unnecessary data charges, turn off Personal Hotspot when not in use.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!
