Ios 7.1.2 update - phone acting on its own since update. HELP!!!

I updated my iphone 5s on Sunday. Every since then it is like my phone is possessed. It will randomly click on photos and zoom in and out, even while sitting on a desk with no one touching it. If you try to type a text message, or even have the keyboard up, the caps buttom will randomly light up and unlight on its own. VERY frustrating!!!! It will also scroll through the app screens all on its own with no one touching the phone. Anyone have any suggestions?

It would have been helpful of you to have mentioned what you have already tried.
Back up and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

Iphone 5, running 6.1.3, acts on its own when left alone

I am using an Iphone 5, running IOS 6.1.3.
I have noticed in the past and just now that sometimes the Iphone acts on its own will.
This time, after leaving the phone charge from zero for an hour or so, I have noticed the following:
When woke up, the screen will unresponsive to touch, I slide my finger across the screen and it will not open any messages or calendar appointments
Once running, if I leave the phone rest on the table (without me holding it or anything), the phone starts opening apps, typing a leter here and there on text messages, moves apps around the screen...
My questions are:
Is this something someone has registered before?
Is this a hardware or software issue?
Can an Iphone 5 be controlled remotely by someone else?

That's probably a hardware problem.

Last night, I saw my iPhone on the table in front of me and twice it made phone calls on its own. I just watched it make the outgoing call as it sat in front of me. Should I think that it has a virus? What should I do about it?

Should I try wiping it and restoring it to factory settings?

It isn't a virus.
I would try the Restore from backup first and if that does not help try a Restore as a new iPhone.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

After update, phone unable to known own number and connect to Verizon network

I've just updated to iOS 7 on a 4S. The phone failed to upgrade the first time properly and I had to do it twice to "take." Now, it will not acknowledge its own number (which I can't seem to fix) and cannot connect to the cellular network. Have been using the phone (purchased at Verizon in March 2012) with not problems before this.

I am having the exact same issue with playlists. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the particular songs that won't sync to playlists. They sync to the phone just fine. I'm IOS 5 on an iPhone 4S syncing with a macbook pro.

I bought a new Nokia 5530 xpress Music phone. I have updated the latest firmware (V2). Even after updating, my phone is switching off on its own. Some times, it never restarts.

What you can do is to do a hard reset the to update the phone's software. A hard reset can be performed with the usual method of typing in *#7370# and the lock code is needed. If the lock code has changed, or the customer does not remember it, the following can be done to hard reset the device: 1. Power off the device. 2. Hold the two call keys (red and green) and the camera button, and proceed to power on the device, while holding the three keys (green, red and camera). 3. Keep holding down the 3 keys until after the handshake screen. A request for country should now be available, and the hard reset should be complete, without the lock code. Keep in mind, the lock code still remains unchanged (it does not go back to the default 12345). Then, please update the phone's firmware using Nokia Software Updater. Email not updating automatically and no alert sounds since update.

Email was updating automatically before with no problem and alerting me with each new email. Since update I have to update manually and no alerts are coming through. Have checked my settings and everything seems to be fine. Any suggestions???

im not sure of a way to go in there and set it to automatically update. but i had that problem with some games and when i went to manually update them i scrolled down a little and it gave me the option to check a box to allow it to automatically update. you can check for updates in settings>about phone>system updates.

Phone reboots on its own

I haven't particularly noticed that exact point when the problem occurs - on two occasions it happened when I was replying to a message, once it happened when I was listening to music and another time after a long con call. So to answer your question - am not really sure...the reboot occurs unexpectedly. I read on another blog that this is in inherent phone problem and for this person, the seller replaced the phone. Another blog suggested that I format the memory card and hard reset the handset...please suggest...and thank you

Phone dialing on its own.

Today I got a call from a friend who said she had I missed call from me. I thought I must of dialed her by mistake but she did not show up in my call log history. Is there an issue with my call log or is my phone dialing people on its own?

Hi, I'm having the same problem too.....a call button that doesn't respond....calling the first contact in contact folder and phone log.....call screen keeps popping up over other apps that are runnning, example messenger,browser ect., ect. to prevent the phone from initiating a call I have to activate the screen lock...doing this I can see the screen light up whenever it's trying to make out the call....I've battrey pull, wipe and wipe and wipe....with both JL CMDER and BMCP...I've loaded OS'es from 4.7 to 5.0.0.973 (bundle 1611, platform 4.2.0.423) this was done yesterday at about 11am....I've not loaded my contact list as yet, 1:46am, but the screen keeps lighting up to the empty contact list....this started happening a couple of hours less than one week today.....I'm just...... frustrated....

If you want iOS 8 then you need to get a newer iPhone that can run it

Cannot update phone/add a new line after updating plan

I updated my data plan to a shared family plan and now would like to upgrade one of the phones and also add a new phone but can't - it says 'order still pending".How long do I need to wait?

If you are trying to do this all online, it won't happen. The new shared plan probably won't go into effect until your next billing cycle. And the Verizon website is notorious for only being able to do one thing at a time. To upgrade the plan, add a line, and get new phones all at once is more than it can handle.
So, what you need to do is call Customer Service (800-922-0204) and complete the changes with a rep on the phone, or go into a store to do the transactions. Or wait for one change to take effect, then make another - but it could take a long time doing it that way.

Since upgrading both the OS and Apple Configurator I can no longer select the option to not update the iOS when I prepare a device. It is currently selected as When update is available. Also the option appears to be grayed out. Any thoughts?

Google maps is now available in the app store and the carrier update that your refering to was for cell data usage while on wifi. It is perfectly fine to do the update. No issues that i had from that update.
