IOS 7.1 crashing iphone 4

Hey,
I have an Iphone 4 and have updated to ios 7.1.
Now when ever i swipe the screen from the top to show notifications, the screen go's black for a few seconds then the apple logo appears.
This is also happening randomly to other apps when trying to access them..
Worked perfect untill update. I have tried rebooting and still the same. Any thoughts how to fix ?

Update: my phone's connecting to the WiFi again. I don't know what did the trick. I did nothing since reinstalling the software. It hadn't worked then, it is now. I tried connecting to my dad's phone's hotspot( he uses a Moto G), and it worked. I then tried connecting to the WiFi at a friend's house, and when I came back home, my phone was able to connect to my WiFi! Is it of any significance that my friend's router doesn't require a password? My issue has been resolved( for now; I hope I'm not counting my chickens before they've hatched). For anyone facing a similar issue, I suggest you try everything I did:
1. Turn your router off for a minimum of 30 seconds, turn it back on and try connecting.
2. Click on the WiFi network you are connected to, scroll to the bottom, tap "Renew Lease".
3. Do a soft and hard reset.
4. Reset network settings.
5. Back your data up, erase all content from settings menu, restore from backup.
6. Reinstall your software( put it in recovery mode).
I am not sure which of the above worked for me. Make sure you try everything. If none of the above works, take it to a genius bar or an authorised service provider. Good luck! :)

I installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 the day it was released. No problems. After learning tips/tricks am loving it. 27 Sept 2013 rec'd notification of an update iOS 7.0.2 (bug fixes etc), and did the update. But now every day the calendar app is crashing. I open it and it closes. The only way I can get into it is to search for an event, or when an event alert comes up, hit 'view'. Other wise I can't open the Calendar. Never ever had this problem before. I've tried turning it off/on, but still crashes. I've closed all running back ground apps and did a Restart, Pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake & Home buttons for a few seconds until it shuts down, then the Apple logo appears, and restarts. Calendar still crashes. How can I fix this? Help ... I use my calendar daily.

It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting already. What I would do next is backup and restore your phone to iTunes.

Before you restore from your backup, I would first setup the phone as a new device, then test the calendar app to make sure it works the correct way. Then restore from your backup and verify the Calendar is still working.

Tried everything. Reset my iPod touch to fresh version of iOS 6 and still issues. I believe that there is a bug.

I am having the same problem, but I think I might know what's causing it. I just updated my girlfriend's iPhone 4S (same phone as mine) to iOS 6 and was surprised to find that her app store is working just fine. When I opened hers, however, I did notice that the "Categories" and "Top 25" buttons are totally different; and those happen to be the two buttons that are not working for me. Mine shows the same that yours does, while hers has the "Genius" and "Charts" buttons in the place of the two that are not functioning for me. I believe these old buttons are no longer active and therefor are bombing out when attempting to access them.
Now I said I think I may understand the problem, but unfortunately I have no idea what the solution may be. Hopefully this tread doesn't fade away and our problem gets addressed.

My iTunes hasn't worked since upgrading to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S

I ugraded to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S the other day and since then it hasn't allowed me to acces my iTunes, it doesn't crash when I open it but it only comes up with a blank screen. Because of this, my iMessage and notifications for things like Facebook and Instagram haven't been working. Any ideas on how to fix this or has anyone else experienced these problems?

Since upgrading to ios8 on iPhone 4s, I am having a number of bluetooth issues with my motorcycle headset.
1) I can no longer answer an incoming call by pressing the connect button on the headset, however, i can make outgoing calls ok (initiated using Siri).
2) I am unable to terminate a call by pressing the connect/disconnect button.
The headset "connect button" is still working ok for starting/stopping music and other functions - it just seems to be phone call related.
Is anyone else using a motorcycle headset having similar issues? (Mine is a generic Aldi set which I have been using for years)

The video plays for about 6 secs, then crashes and sends me back to iOS apps homepage. Then i try it again, go to start the same video, The screen goes black with just X in top right. I have to force quit the app. grrr. I try again. Then after a third time, i get lucky and the video starts playing. i never get any fault codes. Sometimes if the black screen with X top right happen twice, i try it all again and the app sky go homepage upon re start up is magnified 300% and placed into the top right, leaving only a quarter crop of the whole app interface available to view. This is just mental only viewing a quarter of the interface and video to view! Also on the app 'catchup' page with the scroll down categories underneath the main feature carousel - only scrolls half way from 'ITV ...to...Dave. you cannot view what is below that all the way to nick Jr. Only by flicking the above feature carousel righstt and then back left, can you then access the entire catch up category list. -          How often does it occur?the crash symptoms occur Every time. I launch and sometimes it takes several attempts to get Sky Go working. -          Which device are you using?iPhone 5S -          Which OS is your device on?iOS 8.3 -          Is the issue recoverable ? Since updating to iOS 6 on my iPhone 4S my iPod app runs very slow and crashes a lot. Once playing I can switch songs and what not with little difficulty, but if I go back to the list of songs/artists/etc it freezes or force quits. I don't know what to do as this is the only problem I've had. Any help would be appreciated.

If your phone is in recovery mode (You see the iTunes graphic on the phone), you MUST connect the device to a computer and restore the operating system. There is no supported way to get around it. The device had a problem installing the update and it crashed. Sorry.

Ios app store crashing

Anyone else having issues with your app store crashing when you go into the Genius section? Besides swiping and downloading, everything else I do like click uninterested or to view the app it crashes.

Mine just crashes whenever you search for an app and the results try to load. I think it is because since the 4th gen iPod touch has specs similiar to an iPhone 3GS it has problems loading multiple icons and screenshots at the same time and the process runs out of memory, thus causing iOS to boot the app store before it becomes unstable. On iOS 5, before the new layout all it needed to load was an app icon and the title - but in iOS 6 it has to load the screenshot and icon for 20 or so apps on cards. Therefore they should change it back to the old layout for older devices

IOS 6 safari crashing

This problem started when I installed a developer release of iOS 6 on my iPhone 4S: Every time I tap bookmarks on safari, the app crashes and takes me back to the home screen. It did it on my iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and now my iPhone 5. Please help if you know how to fix. BTW Iv'e already tried reseting the phone back to its factory settings and I have cleared my history, cookes, and all of the website data.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Safari and Clear History, Dat and Cookies. Do similar with Chrome
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
