IOS 7.1 - Still No Threaded Conversation in Mail

This is a longstanding problem with iOS' native mail app. While it generally manages to group together emails sent to me, emails that I sent out as part of a conversation do not get grouped as part of the conversation. As a result, true threaded conversations are not supported.
A few third party apps (Molto, Seed Mail) support this kind of threading, but I am mystified as to why Apple continues to have s substandard mail clilent after all thease years. (I searched the support forum and this issue goes back at least to iOS 4.)
C'mon Apple -- bring your mobile mail app up to 2010 and include both received AND SENT items in its conversation threads.

.... How rubbish is that?? Come on Apple it's years overdue now.
Obviously it means I wouldn't have to upgrade to OSX 10.7.x to be able to use Mail with iCloud to get this functionality ... so it's basically another Apple effort to put us through the pain and cost of another upgrade....
Not what I expect from Apple, this is such basic webmail functionality.

Yep, I get that - that's the distinction I was drawing between Web/Cloud applications and wider Web/Cloud services - which also exist to enhance the functionality of non-Cloud/on-machine applications.
The iCloud.com website, is intended as a secondary method for getting basic access to your contacts, calendars, notes, email etc. when NOT using your Mac or iOS device. It is not intended to be the primary way of using iCloud. You need a compatible Mac or iOS device just to create an iCloud account. If iCloud.com were intended to be the primary way to use iCloud, don't you think Apple would give users a way to sign up there too?

They do. Mail at iCloud.com allows you "basic functionality" to read and reply to your email. Threaded conversations are not required to have basic email functionality. Yes, it might be desirable, but it's certainly not a basic function of email - more of an added extra.
Again, I understand your point and it's perfectly valid - this just boils down to a difference of opinion on what constitutes "basic" functionality ... very happy to agree to disagree on this one, your opinion is as valid as mine!
Now -while we're on Cloud stuff - don't get me started on how iTunes Match tried to take over my iPhone Music app !!!! see here

iOS 8.2 still won't allow deletion of ALL email messages at once from my iPad? What could be the reason for this? The work-around solutions I see on Internet work erratically for me.
I'm an Android cellphone user so can delete all emails from my phone with a click or two. Is that a patent issue for Apple? There is no way to delete ALL email messages easily?

Had the same problem. There is an undocumented way under another thread and it works, but is clunky and very un-Mac-like.

MARK ALL AS READ (for me and several others in the thread it only works, when I marked all as read)
Highlight first email
Hold move button
Try to unhighlight first email (probably won't )
Still holding move button pull down on mails and then try to unhighlight first email again
This time it should
You will notice the inbox seems frozen as move is no longer highlighted and individual emails will not highlight if you touch them
Wait May take a minute or two depending on how many emails are in your inbox but they will move to the right side
Then just touch trash

I Moved From New York To Florida, But Kept The Same WiFi/Router, But The Maps App and My iPod Touch(4th Gen. & iOS 6) Is Still Registering My Location In New York.

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

Try double tapping with three fingers and see if that reduces the screen image. If it does, unlock the iPad and go to Settings>General>Accessibility>zoom>Off. If double tapping with three fingers doesn't work, try triple tapping the home button instead.

There is no "update icon" in iOS versions earlier than iOS 5.
The update is very large (over 1.2 gigabytes). You need a good internet connection to download it to your computer. Maybe you'll need to take a trip to a city to get a good enough connection.

Upgraded to ios 8.1 still 3g problem persists

i have upgraded my iphone 5 to ios 8.1 still 3g dosen't work..............
The problem still persists...

1) IMPORTANT- If you are using a Vzw Network Extender in your home or office, since update of iOS 8.1 you will always see extended mode on your phone, no matter what, for now. (4g HD calling not yet available through Vpn tunnel)
2) 8.1 apple update defaulted all the iPhone cellular mode LTE setting to data only. to fix, go to settings> Cellular > Enable LTE > Select Voice & Data. a check mark should appear within 30 seconds and Verizon will reappear on iPhone. If the check mark appears you are now back on Vzw cell network and have High Def calling. If not - complete a "hard reset on the iPhone" Do this by holding down your power button and home button until you see the apple logo on the screen, This actually disconnects the battery on the phone and forces the sim card to reach out to the towers and reinitialize settings.
If this does not work, toggle on and off Airplane Mode
If that does not work; go to settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings
Now if after all that your check mark does not appear or you get a pop box on the phone that says "call Vzw to enable LTE calls" then here is the solution:
Call Vzw, have them add the following 3 codes on your account:
A) Advanced Calling 1.0 - Vzw Feature Code 81143
B) High Def Voice - Vzw Feature Code 81158
C) High Def Access - Vzw Feature Code 81186
If you give the Vzw rep the three feature codes it will make your life easier because this is a very new issue!
Now you can hard reset and select LTE Voice and Data and get back on the Vzw Network

The startup.exe file is locate in the \NI-RT\STARTUP directory. 'cd NI-RT' then 'cd STARTUP' should get you to the right place after making the connection with ftp. I don't recognize PH_EXEC.EXE. Logging in as anonymous is fine. I don't recall seeing documentation on the file structure and locations on the module but I'm sure there is some. I just wandered around w/ftp.
The program to update the node should be below. Enter the IP address, the green light will confirm the node is found.
The version function scans the existing startup.exe for a string beginning and ending with " RU Version " and prints everything in between as the version.
The autostart function will copy the existing ni-rt.ini file to your computer, mod
ify the autostart as requested, then put the file back. Leaves the copy on the PC, which can be handy.
Send file will request a file of the format startup*.dat which will be renamed startup.exe and ftp'd to the module. Lets you keep version numbers in the filename on the PC side. Your directory structure probably won't match mine so you'll have to browse for your file.
Reboot module reboots the module.

I just went through this yesterday and because i am no where around my computer i lost everything and now my battery drains very fast...you are going to have to recover your phone i hope you have everything backed up and are next to your computer...if you are push and hold your home button and plug into PC at same time and continue to hold the home button untill you see your USB on your pc screen light up (depending on what type of pc maybe i dont know what you have)

usb on pc screen lights up..let go of home button
follow instructions for restore/sinc

Is ios 4.3 still available, and if so, where/how do I find it? -- I have an iPhone 4 (Verizon) w/ ios 4.2.10. I wanted to purchase Garage Band for ios from the App store, but is says it requires ios 4.3. I don't want to update to ios5 yet, because (as I understand) it needs Lion on my Mac, and I have a few programs that I still need that will not run on Lion. All I can find on iTunes is the upgrade to ios 5...

When you download iOS 5, you can still sync your phone with your computer as you normally would even without Lion, if that's what you were asking.
Without Lion however, you can't take advantage of these things on your Mac: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
When you update to iOS 5, you can set up iCloud in the Settings App and it will store all of that ^ stuff in the cloud. But without Lion on your computer, it will just sit up there and wait until the day you do get Lion.
In short, iOS 5 and Lion are not dependent on each other. Feel free to download iOS 5, and maybe Lion in the future if you feel like it.

No gmail like Thread conversation on iCloud

Why on my mac (Mavericks) I have a serious Thread conversation including received and sent messages (like the one on gmail) and on my iPhone 5 and iCloud web Mail I don't have the same?
Thread mail on my iPhone is grouping only the messages I receive but it would be great to group sent and received messages together to have a complete conversation.
I'm trying to switch from gmail to iCloud as gmail on iPhone Mail doesn't have push notifications. So what can I do? I don't want to use gmail app.

Threaded Emails in Mail

Hi All,
I have the same email address (Gmail) set up on both my Mac and my iPod Touch using IMAP. On my Mac, I can organize my emails by thread, however, I do not see such a feature on my iPod Touch. Thus, I was wondering if the Mail app on the iPod touch supports threaded conversations like the Mail app on a Mac?
