IOS 7 apps save on cloud

Ok, on my iPhone 4s with IOS 7 apps (free ones) save on the cloud. When I unninstall the app it has a cloud icon with a down arrow on it in the appstore. How do I get it to go back to normal? Thanks in advance.

I didn't realize they have never been native apps for iPad. I just don't understand why Apple would provide them for the iPhone and not the iPad. Thank you both for replying. I can now quit searching for them.

    Hi,
    It is documented here:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn646972.aspx
    Under Create a software deployment,
In the Microsoft Intune administrator console, click
    Software > Managed Software.
Select the title of the mobile device software that you want to deploy, and then click
    Manage Deployment.
    Note
When you select multiple items, and include both mobile device apps and computer software, you can only deploy the software as an
    Available Install.
On the Select Groups page, select the user groups to which you want to deploy the software, and then click
    Next.
On the Deployment Action page, select one of the following from the
    Approval column:
Available install – The software will be made available for users to install from the company portal.
Required install – The software will be automatically installed on devices to which it is deployed.
To define a timeline for the software to be deployed, click the drop-down menu in the
Deadline column, and select one of the following options:
None: Deploys the software based on the agent policy settings.
As soon as possible: During the next synchronization, Microsoft Intune scans devices in the selected groups, and then deploys the software. For more information about how to schedule synchronization, see

I have registered my iOS divece in cloud
I have installed "company portal" on device
I was able to install the deployed iOS app in the device(iPad)

If this application was packaged with an IPA file (iPhone App) then you will not see the application in the Company Portal, you'll need to use m.manage.microsoft.com from Safari to see and install the application.
If this app was one you created from the iPhone App Store, that application should be visible and you can initiate a reinstallation from the Company Portal.

  • What iOS apps access PDF files in the cloud?

I know Goodreader sees the cloud. What other iOS apps can see PDF files in the apple cloud?

    thelittletoad wrote:

The cloud is not really a single thing remember.  Cloud computing and cloud storage are just generic terms for distributed computing and/or storage on a network accessable service.  There are many "cloud" storage options:
    iCloud
    Dropbox
    Box.net
    SugarSync
    4Shared
    Google Drive
    Skydrive
...and the list goes on growing every day
Many apps, like Goodreader, will work with some, many or all of these, ONCE you configure your account settings in the app itself. So you can create an account with whichever service or services you wish to use, and then start using that account to move your files to and from any and all apps that allow a connection to that service.
I use box.net primarily to store my pdf files, and I then connect to them from GoodReader, PDF Expert or iAnnotate, not to mention QuickOffice, or Goodnotes, or Documents by Readdle or whatever app I choose to read/edit/markup the pdf in.
You will need to download the pdf into each and every app you wish to use it in on the iPad, as with a few exceptions, apps cannot share content.  That's why you use the cloud (meaning nothing more than, online) storage as your master location for your documents.

  • Is it possible to save a picture/image file that is within an iOS app?

Is it possible to save a picture/image file that is within an app?
The image in question cannot be shrunk, so using the iPhone built-in Screenshot function (by pressing both "Home" & "On/OffSleep/Wake" buttons simultaneously) only produces part of the image.
    Thanks.

Generally in all Apple iOS apps, you can hold down on the image and the save image dialogue will pop up. Many third party developers adopt this method, but some also have other weird ways of doing it through menus. What appa re you trying to do this with?

  • Unable To Download Folders On My Cloud iOS App

    Hello there,
I have a problem in which case I would try to download a folder from my My Cloud on my mobile IOS app. It would then fail while giving me the following message:
"Unable to complete this action. Folder downloads and copies are not supported from this location."
This pretty much happens with any folder I try with. One share was public while another was private and the download would fail on both. I have no trouble viewing or accessing the files. In fact, downloading individual files still works, just not whole folders.
Also do not have any issues downloading/copying folders on a traditional Windows platform using Explorer. Just can't download them through the iOS mobile app. Nothing wrong with the phone either, there's enough space and all.
What is strange is that I have gotten it to work in the past before. A few months ago I was able to download folders on the mobile app when the device was new. But this feature is not functioning anymore.
    Does anybody have any solutions?

Unfortunately no, it still happens. I have not found a solution to the problem.
Here's what's weird though. There are times, though rarely where it does indeed work. And when it does work it (I will call this "Working State") works for everything. In this state, My Cloud App is also able to compile all Music, Video and Pictures under their respective special tabs on the app. This only lasts until I reset or switch off the NAS device though. It seems to be luck based, as in sometimes I'll switch on the machine and it I'll have the feature work,
When it's in the "not working state", I'm unable to download folders or have the Music/Pictures/Videos tab compile the files. When I access the Music/Pictures/Videos tabs isn't working it also gives me "WDGeneralNetworkError500". The two issues are related I believe.
In either circumstance, I'm am able to download and view individual files just fine. It just won't work for entire folders, which is weird.

  • IOS 7 - can't find apps in the cloud but not downloaded at App Store anymore. Why? How to download purchased apps?

I can't find apps "not on this iPhone" anymore at App Store. Where are my purchased apps from the cloud?

First, make sure you are signed in to the iTunes & App Stores:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > enter your Apple ID and Password > Sign in
You can access purchased apps here:
Open App Store app > Updates > Purchased

  • Sync iOS Apps to iTunes - Questions on how exactly this works...

I'm going to put my questions up top, but my understanding of the current system is below, and may be relevant to the questions, if you'd like to read through it.
How can I back up / restore a SINGLE app, including its data (e.g. a game save file), to either iTunes or the cloud... or anything else for that matter. Does syncing an app to iTunes serve this purpose?
What IS the purpose of syncing an iOS app to iTunes? Does this sync include the data stored on my iOS device? For example, if I have a game in which I've made progress, is this progress stored on both my iPhone and my Mac once I've synced the app to iTunes?
If data IS synced along with the app, how is this data managed? Say I have two iPhones, both with the same game but different progress in each. If I sync iPhone A with iTunes, then sync iPhone B, will iPhone A's data overwrite iPhone B's? Or are there two versions of this app floating around on my mac?
If data is NOT synced along with the app, why on earth would I want a bunch of huge storage-hogging iOS apps that are identical to what I could download from the App Store taking up GIGABYTES of space on my MacBook's SSD?
And finally, should the answer to question 4 be "there is no reason to store 42GB worth of useless apps on your 256GB SSD alongside your already gigantic iOS device backup files," how would I go about removing these apps stored in iTunes without iTunes trying to delete them from my iOS device every time I want to sync some TV shows or podcasts?
    My Understanding So Far:
Of the many things Apple has addressed and improved upon over the years, backing up iOS app data has strangely not been one of them. As I understand it, the only way to back up an app, including its data (e.g. the save data for a game), is to do a FULL backup of the ENTIRE device. The only way to restore an app, including the data that you backed up, is to restore the ENTIRE device, all other apps included, to a previous state.
The driving force behind these questions is that I'd like the option to delete an app from my iPhone when I'm finished with it - but I'd also like the option to re-download it in the future and pick up where I left off. In a perfect world, all these apps would automatically sync through iCloud or GameCenter, or at least have that option to "upload to iCloud" or "restore from iCloud." Even with these apps, I'm not entirely sure where the backed up files exist - somewhere on my iCloud drive separate from my iPhone backup, photos, contacts, etc? Is there a way to see a list of apps that are storing things in my iCloud drive, and even manage this data?
So if I wanted to back up an app's data that does NOT automatically back up to iCloud, it seems my only option would be to install one of the many 3rd party Mac <-> iOS data transfer apps, and copy the contents of the "Documents" folder to a designated directory on my Mac. Then I could delete the app off my iPhone. Say in the future I re-download the app - I'd use the same data transfer app to copy the backed-up data to the re-downloaded app's Documents folder, and we're back in business. The only downside is that if it's been a while and the app has undergone updates, this backed-up data might be corrupt or no longer relevant. Plus, it's kind of a hassle.
When I discovered iTunes was syncing my apps to my Mac, I thought it might be serving as a way to back up my apps, data included, to my computer. Okay, it seemed like a little overkill to sync the whole app along with the data, but when I discovered that you could UPDATE the apps within iTunes, I thought apple had solved the problem of storing backed-up data for out-of-date versions of an app - simply update the app in iTunes, it does what's necessary to your backed-up data, and when you want to put the app back on your iPhone, voila! Your old data's there, AND you've got the most recent version! But apparently this is not at all how iTunes app syncing works.
As I NOW understand it, when iTunes "syncs" an app to your Mac, it includes only the app's core data - the same as if you'd just downloaded it from the App Store, and it does so for EVERYTHING you've purchased, ever, whether or not it's on any of your iOS devices. I can see how this could be convenient if you live on a farm and want to restore an old app to your iPhone without an internet connection, but I don't think it's worth, unexaggerated, a FIFTH of my hard drive. Worse, I can't figure out how to get rid of them.
    TL;DR
So, if you're still with me, what is the purpose of iTunes App Sync, and if it's as useless as I think it is, how do I get rid of it for good?

You can upgrade to Snow Leopard and skip over Leopard, and only upgrade to Lion later if wanted/needed. snow Leopard specs/requirements below.

  • Acrobat iOS App file uploading

    Hi,
I got an iPad like 2 weeks ago and have all my files in Microsoft's OneDrive. The iPad lets me open OneDrive's PDF's with the Acrobat App but changes made there to the file are not updated to the original OneDrive file. This is frustrating.
Now, I cannot find a way to upload those PDF's from the Acrobat iOS App to my Acrobat.com cloud drive.
Any options so my workflow doesn't become so annoing?
    Thanx!
    Enrique

Currently, Adobe Reader for iOS provides cloud storage support for Acrobat.com only.  Any changes that you make to each PDF document on Acrobat.com will be automatically saved/uploaded to Acrobat.com when you close the document in Adobe Reader for iOS.
For other cloud storage services (e.g. Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive), you can download and open PDF documents in Adobe Reader using the "Open in Adobe Reader" feature.  However, as you pointed out, Adobe Reader does not upload PDF documents back to the cloud storage.
You could transfer (a) all of your PDF documents from OneDrive to Acrobat.com on a desktop/notebook computer first or (b) open one PDF document in Adobe Reader at a time, make changes, and save/upload it to Acrobat.com by selecting the "Save to Acrobat.com" menu item.
I agree that the process is cumbersome and annoying.  However, those are the only possible options that I can think of.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Can I use iCloud storage for iOS apps?

    Hello,
I'm trying to work out if it's possible to use iCloud to save/load data across devices with iOS apps created using Air.
I know there is a lot of talk about now meeting the Apple data storage guidelines eg http://www.saumitrabhave.com/2011/11/air-ios-solving-apps-must-follow-ios.html
What I can't understand is if I actually want to use iCloud to save data a user has created in my app (ie condition 1 of the storage guidelines - user generated data, cannot be re-created by application).
If I was to save this user data to the <Application>/Documents directory...
    a) would it be backed up by iCloud and meet Apples requirements?
    b) if my application was installed on another device is there any way, using Air/AS3, to know that a file has been updated and read the file?
Please let me know if this doesn't make sense... still trying to get my head around how it all works.
    Thanks.

  • How can I delete an app from the cloud??

how can I delete an app from the cloud, so nobody can download it again to my phone?? please I tried from the computer but it just hide the app from purchased, and still appears in the app store with the cloud on it

At the present time, you can't hide or delete an app from your purchased list on your phone.  Prior to iOS 6 you could hide it; there has never been an option to delete it.

  • PDF generated in iOS app opens iOS adobe but is blank in Windows and Mac adobe

I generated a PDF in an iOS app called iThoughts and I am able to export directly to iOS Adobe, or e-mail the PDF.  When I export directly to Adobe the PDF opens fine in the Adobe iOS app, when I try to open the PDF on a windows machine or Mac machine the page is blank, all white.  When I click the preview on Gmail I see the PDF fine.  When I open the PDF in my mac preview desktop app it works fine.  I did try to save from export from preview and this did not work, same results.  When I open the PDF in iOS from the email it works fine also. The iThoughts generated PDF mind-map in this instance is very large.  When I generated a branch of the map it works fine.  If the map is smaller it works fine.  This is a single page PDF.  When I had notes on the same mind map the PDF was two pages and the only thing visible was page 2 with the notes on it, not map.  I am going to send the developer of the iThoughts app an e-mail but I thought this would be a better place since I can open the PDF in my iOS app but not on a desktop program.  I have done this with iOS 6 and now with iOS 7 with the same results.

Thank you very much.  Is this the case for Adobe pro also? I am using Adobe Pro at work and it doesn't work either.
Are there any work arounds to be able to view / print / open in Adobe pro to be able to use the search funciton?  That was my point of creating one map so we can search one page with all the settings as listed on the attached PDF.  I am glad, but seems odd I can view and search this document on my iPad iOS version of Adobe reader.  Thank you for this option at least.  I guess this will push getting more iPads at work, LOL.
Thanks again for your time and I hope to hear of some work around to be able to search this larget page PDF besides cutting it into 2 pages.

  • Data from iOS app

    Hello,
I'll extract data saved from an iOS app; the iPad isn't connected.
I can save data to preference file and it's work perfectly. But after that how can I extract this file from the local iPad?
Can I write to an USB key connected with the Apple adaptor and if yes which instruction and/or path may I use?
An other way is to write to another app sandbox (e.g. local directory of DropBox or DocsToGo) but I don't find the right Lingo instruction and path to make that.
Tanks a lot if somebody can help me :-)
    Regards
    Bernard

"nadandeo", a little bit late reply but hope you can still hear. ^^
If you have made a backup, you’re OK. (For those who don’t know, iTunes automatically makes a backup, when you connect your iPou touch to your PC/Laptop).
Without a backup, you CANNOT recover your lost notes, except with recovery software. Here’s a USERGUIDE: How to recover lost iPod NOTES. Do your research, but from experience I can tell you that this is the only way around it. In the future, always make backups. Better safe, than sorry.
Don't fall for anything people tell you , do your own research and check company reviews.
