IOS 7 error message 3004

Downloaded IOS 7 via itunes. Keep receiving error message 3004 when trying to update iphone. Itunes is currently the most recent update and Iphone was at it's most recent update prior to IOS 7. How can I resolve error message.

This a general error regarding internet connection.
The Apple servers are slammed right now with iOS 7 downloads AND activation requests.
I'd suggest restarting your computer if you can to clear all of the caches and trying again.

  • IOS 7.04 - error message 3004 - won't install

    Hi,
I just bought an iphone 5 - I did all the updates I needed to do - the latest Itunes, etc - trying to install IOS 7.04 just won't work.
I keep getting the error message 3004.
I've tried to restore and install nothing.
    I rebooted everyting many times.
Any way to make this work?
    Thank you

do a search on your hdd for quicktime and itunes files and delete them all manualy - also find out what files are installed that won't show on a "itunes" or "quicktime" search and delete them too
then open Regedit and search for iTunes and Quicktime and delete what you find.
    restart and install iTunes again...
after a wierd error i tryed reinstalling itunes and got the same error. i did what i just said and all worked again

  • HELP! iPhone 4 is BLANK after trying to update to iOS 6, error message during restore...

I tried to submit question to Apple Support, but I have to enter my phone's serial number and it doesn't work! From what I can gather, it wasn't restored, so I can't get the serial #!!!
When I connected to iTunes earlier this evening, a window popped up about updating iOS.  (I had to update thru iTunes b/c I've never updated iOS!)
I chose "download & update".  After ~2 hours of downloading software, it began doing some different things, soon after it started the restore process, an error message popped up.  The first suggestion was to download the newest version of iTunes, which I did, next-restart laptop, opened iTunes, and iPhone doesn't show as a device, and choices like "sync" are gray (can't choose them).
By looking through and reading other questions and answers in the community, I think I've found the backups stored on my computer.
I just can't get anything to work.  proc
I love my phone, please, please help!
In pretty easy to understand terms.  (please no talk of clouds, etc. )
I didn't do any backups myself prior to starting b/c it clearly said all of those things would be backed up and restored during the process.
    thank you!

when I started the update I was at the end of the preparing to download phase and now my screen is just flashing on and off with apple logo

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and antivirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 7.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
    Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

  • Iso 5 error message 3004 when i tried to update.

I got an error message i think it was 3004 and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and i dont want to restore it because i will have to load all my pictures back on there!

Try to put it into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • IOS 7 error message, now phone says up to date with version 6.1.3

Earlier in the day I tried updating to iOS 7. Of course, it didn't work.  I tried a few hours later and it looked like it was working - it went to the Apple screen and started downloading, then it stopped and stayed the same.
I went back into the System Update and it searched for a good 15 minutes for an update then said an error ocurred while trying to search for an update.  I tried a couple more times with the same result, then it told me it was up to date with 6.1.3.. I turned off my phone and back on and it still says the same thing.  Not sure if or when that's going to change.
Pretty disappointed considering how excited I was for this dang update.

I had this same issue with my iPhone 5
First make sure you back up to the icloud
    Second plug into power
Third keep tryng it will eventually take
    Hope this helps

I am on Mac but have a slow connection (its called 'Narrowband') and have had the same message twice.  It downloaded Safari 5.1.1 to my macbookpro but I hate it (no back button and keeps on crashing) - I'm on Snow Leopard - the initial message is that it will take 10 hours to download.  I may try at work where they have a faster connection.
However, is there another way to download the Iphone update (and Ipad2)?

  • IOS 7 error message??

Everytime I try to download ios7 it says error and stops almost immediately.. whats wrong?
I've tried restarting my phone, that did nothing.

  • I have an iphone 4 (ios 4.3.1). I want to update to the latest ios, but it wouldn't load onto my iphone, I got error message code 3014. I tried again and it said I would lose all the contents on my iphone if I continued - help!

I have an iPhone 4 (IOS 4.3.1) and it was synced and backed up today.
I wanted to upgrade to the latest ios on iTunes (today's date is 3rd Jan 2013), it seemed to download ok (it took about 30 minutes or so), but when it tried to update onto the iPhone (I think this was what it was doing!) I got an error message that had code 3014 in it. Nowhere on Apple's website can I find a way to resolve this error code.
I then thought I would just try again from the beginning, but I then got an error message saying that if I continued I would lose all the contents on my iPhone so I cancelled it as I don't want to lose everything on my phone.
Can anyone help me as I am not very good at technical things and I really want to upgrade the ios on my iPhone without losing all the data I have on there already. An idiots guide would be great.
    Thanks.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.
