IOS 7 introduced bugs to Numbers Forms

The Forms feature of Numbers stopped working after I installed iOS 7. Some of the data entry boxes in Numbers Forms are not visible until I move to the next entry. Numbers itself crashes about 25% of the times I try to return to the spreadsheet. have created a new spreadsheet under iOS 7 and the Forms exhibit the same behavior. Is there a workaround for this bug?

  • Bug in Oracle Forms 9i triggers

I've found a bug in oracle forms 9i. It happens when you have a select query inside a when-validate-item trigger and in that query you opt to show an alert when the query has encountered an exception...
When that trigger is fired, the alert will show even if the query returns a record(which means that it does not go through the exception). The solution is to recompile the said trigger.
Is this bug present in the other versions of Oracle forms?
Is there a patch for this bug?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
I've consulted with some of my colleagues who have been using Oracle forms for more than 5 years now, and they said that the bug seems to randomly appears...The code works fine in the local environemnt (forms builder) and in the AS itself (compiled in Unix) but after sometime, the bug appears and they just compiled the trigger where the code of the alert is in...
Is there any logical explanation of why compiling a trigger (without changing any code) solves this problem?

  • Is this a bug in Numbers?

    Hi,
I have recently finished my spreadsheet for personal finance tracking, and have just encountered what may be a bug in numbers.
I have a few sheets in which i collect the relevant data to be used by the appropriate functions.
This is what I have noticed.
In one sheet I have spending categories in column 1, and the relevant months in the top row. I have used the SUMIFS function to total transactions by category and month. I wrote the first row of functions and when I was done I merely copied and pasted the functions into the adjacent rows since they are exactly the same, the only variable being the spending category, which I allowed for.
I have about 10 categories and they all work perfect except for two rows. I find this very unusual since I have copied and pasted the functions, so no room for error, and not only that, all the other rows work perfect - just these two rows don't do the job. Also, it does not give the error sign (the red triangle with the exclamation mark), but the cells simply return the value $0.00. I even re-wrote the functions to try a different method other than and copied version of the function, but I can't get the values to display correctly in the cells.
Anyways, I just thought that if there is someone else that is encountering the same problem it would be nice to know.
    Thanks
    ST

    Hello
At last I have responded to the 50 mails received and finished what I had to do in the garden.
I wish to add that when something doesn't behave as we wish, 99.99% of times, it's because we made a typo.
Here is a list of common ones :
    (1) Extraneous spaces
    (2) Unwanted duplicated chars
    (3) unwanted or missing parenthesis (or double quotes)
    (4) Error with the parameters separator (semi-colon versus comma)
    (5) add you own common ones
Case 3 is quite easy to identify because most of the times, it generates a syntax error.
Case 4 is easier to identify because, as far as I know, it always generates a syntax error.
    I apologizes but I can't describe Case 5's behaviour
Case 1 and 2 are the more annoying because they may give a formula returning a wrong value without any kind of error message.
It may be a good idea to keep this list near your machine.

  • Ios 5 location bug ?

ios 5 location bug... I live in South Africa and i would love to use the reminders app for the location based alerts but as you can see here -->https://p.twimg.com/Abyz8QQCAAAyuPQ.png:large
when you drop a pin it just gives you the general area no roads or anything,
i am wondering if this is a problem with google maps or with iOS5 or both
    any ideas ?

I have noticed the exact same issue. Since updating to iOS5 the maps app seems to not list the pin point position thus making the location based reminders very difficult to use.
I tested this with an iOS5 and an iOS4 device today and the iOS4 mapping gives street names and not just Johannesburg GP like on iOS5? See attached pictures with devices mapping at the same location?
I went into the Apple store in Sandton City on Thursday but the guy I spoke to simply said that it is a new operating system, and he would try and look into it? My problem is that if this is just a South African mapping iOS5 issue how long will it take to get resolved without being brought to the attention of the right people?

  • IOS 5.1 bugs

    iOS 5.1 bugs
    what happened to apple?
im afraid that they're gonna fall the reputation and efforts of Steven Paul Jobs.
im using itouch 4g, it came with iOS 4.1 firmware and it worked as the apple device would be, it never showed me loading thing.
whatever i opened either music nor 720p videos, it never lagged.
But with iOS 5.1 all the things in my iOS device are starting up after loading.
the world's best music device is now turned to ordinary one.
please apple wake up and hear your customers.
in scrolling music albums and in landscape orientation the album arts are loading like the ordinary devices.
after unlocking, the touch is not responding for a few seconds.
i never expeted this in apple.

I have indeed called Apple technical support.  When I told the woman who took my call about the audio titles no longer appearing in video, she immediately tried to pin the blame on the video itself.  She asked which video from the iTunes store gave me the problem.  My reply was that I created the video myself - wrong answer!  It must be that the video didn't meet the MP4 specifications, she told me.  And she added that Apple can't support 3rd party videos.  Ooh, good job, Apple technical support person; you just absolved Apple of all responsibility.  Of course, she hated it when I told her that the video displayed audio titles with no problem in earlier IOS versions.  In fact, I have the same video on an ipod touch 3rd generation (running IOS 4.3.5) that displays the audio titles perfectly, I told her.  Her weak comeback was that she has no way of verifying what I'm telling her and that she can only troubleshoot when the videos come from iTunes.  What a moron!!!  I was tempted to tell her that the videos I make using Handbrake are of much better quality than what comes from iTunes, but I didn't want to get off track.  And I have since confirmed that this problem affects Apple videos too from a post on another website.  Maybe they have some good technical support people at Apple; but for the few times I called them on this and other issues, the people I spoke to were robotic in their responses and didn't seem to be in communication with the software designers who created the problems in the 1st place.
As for joining the Apple IOS Developer Program, I'm not sure I would feel comfortable with it since I'm not an IOS developer.  I'm also irritated that a person would have more clout in reporting bugs as an IOS Developer than as a regular user.  Since you're already part of this program, kevpan815, why don't you tell Apple how they're screwing up IOS with their updates and then report back here.  I would be curious to know how they would respond.

  • Does Yosemite/Numbers 3.5 play well with iOS 7.1.2 and Numbers 2.2.2?

    Hi All,
I am reluctant to update my iPod touch to iOS 8 because I fear the hardware won't handle it well. Everything works fairly right nicely now.
I am wondering if anyone has upgraded OSX to Yosemite and Numbers to 3.5 but stayed with iOS 7.1.2 and Numbers 2.2.2
    Thanks.
    quinn

    quinn,
I've read that the document format for Numbers has been tweaked to work better with Gmail, Dropbox, etc.
Presumably (I don't have a way to test this) that tweak is not retroactive to iOS7.
Or maybe it is. Perhaps in Numbers 3.5 the File > Advanced > Change File Type (where you are then given a choice between Single File and Package) can save in an iOS7 compatible format.
In any case, I'm guessing that enjoying the full benefits of the new Numbers requires at least one iOS device that can run iOS 8.

I have developed a specific logic for series nos for populating the nos in the "Define Serial Numbers" form matrix. When i am adding a row to the matrix it shows me a row id of 0 due to which even when i update the series nos only the first row is saved . • Keynote for iOS Bullet Alignment Bug?

Does anyone know how to solve this issue:
Image bullets in Keynote for iOS have a bug related to vertical alignment of the image.
For the first line of text, the bullet image is correctly aligned in the vertical center of the line.
For all other lines, the bullet image is aligned towards the top of the line.
This is true regardless of whether I use the default image in iOS or import an OSX keynote document.

I kept trying things this weekend to fix this problem, and I FINALLY figured out what the common feature was, that was causing the misalignment of the bullets.
    Line spacing.
If you apply line spacing BEFORE a paragraph, it misaligns the bullets... which is WHY it wasn't happening to the 1st bullet in each text box, but only those following....
In the final test I changed the line spacing attribute to AFTER a paragraph, and VOILA! no more misaligned bullets.
It's definitely a bug in the software, since either way it looks fine on the mac, and is only a problem on the iPad.

If it is one year old minus one day it is still under warranty. If it is more than a year since you purchased it then yes, the warranty has expired.
Millions of iPads have been sold. Most continue to function long after their warranty has expired. Check the many requests about updating the iOS on the original iPad on these forums and you'll see that there are many iPads still working after three years. My iPad 2, which I had for over two years is still working well for my son in law who took it over from me when I bought a new one.
Given that there will always be a few iPads that fail early. Most of those will be covered under warranty. But some will fail after the warranty has expired and before the owner expected it to. I'm sorry to hear that you are in this category. Take your iPad to an Apple store and have it looked at. They will provide you with alternatives, one of which is to purchase a like model to the one that failed at a discount. You can then know your options and make the best choice for you.

  • With update of iOS 8 lost pictures and numbers...where did they go?

With update of iOS 8 lost pictures and numbers...where did they go?

If the pictures are still on your phone, they may be in a different location as the camera roll and photo stream albums were removed in iOS 8.  This explains the new photos locations: Get help finding your Photos in iOS 8.
Don't know about your numbers.  If you mean your contacts, if they were syncing with iCloud check iCloud.com to see if they are sill there.

  • Autofill bug using Numbers in Leopard when assigned to a Space

Has anyone else seen this bug?
I found a weird bug in Numbers. I have set Numbers to automatically load in Space #3. I wanted to cut and paste some information from a window in Space#2 so I moved the Numbers window to Space #2.
When I tab between cells and start typing, based on what the autofill options are it switches out the Numbers window, moving me to Space #3, leaving only the just the drop down menu with the autofill choices. For instance, if I type a 1 and the autofill choices are 150, 120, etc then it flips me to Spaces #3. It does the same thing regardless if I am entering a letter or digit.
If I move the Numbers window back to Space #3 it will display the autofill menu correctly.
Here are two images of the bug.
Image 1 shows the numbers window correctly. http://web.mac.com/bloetel/image1.png
Image 2 shows how the autofill window is the only thing showing when it switches to Space #3. http://web.mac.com/bloetel/image2.png

I encountered this problem too. As a 'solution', I turned auto-fill off, but that can't be the great idea of Apple. Also, the preferences window is in another spaces than the document I'm working in. That isn't a big problem, you can move the preferences window to a different space. I found that via the spaces overview (standard shortcut is F8, I think) you can move the autofill popup, just by dragging it. It disappears in the overview, but it's there when you go back to your original window.

  • WONKY calculation bug in Numbers 3.0.1

    Hi,
This is wonky. It's a bit hard to explain in words, so best see the attachment to understand. You can download the attachment here: https://app.sugarsync.com/iris/wf/D162135_83773729_7822834
Basically, I have a number in each of A1, B1, and C1. The numbers have up to 2 decimals.
    D1 contains the following formula: A1 - SUM( B1:C1 ), giving the result 19782.10.
    E1 contains the number 19782.10.
    F1 contains the formula D1 - E1.
The answer should be 0.00. Instead, it reads 0.00000000000363797881....
There is no inputted number anywhere with more than 2 decimal places. Clearly there is some kind of bug. The funny thing is if I change the formula in D1 to A1 - B1 - C1, then I get 0.00.
I've also tried changing the numbers in A1, B1, and C1 and then adjusting E1 accordingly. With very few exceptions, I get the correct 0.00. There is something about those particular numbers running through the SUM formula that produces the ghost decimals.
Of course, errors to the 12th decimal aren't going to throw off my spreadsheet too badly. But I have to wonder if these bugs are coming up in such simple math, what else is wonky in Numbers 3.0?
When I get weird results in my math, I like to be able to assume it is because of my error. Knowing that Numbers is wonky is going to add a lot of uncertainty to complex troubleshooting in my formulas.
    What's the deal? Any ideas?
    A

  • IOS 7 calendar bugs

iOS 7 calendar on iPhone is not showing notifications for today or scheduled events for tomorrow. Is anyone experiencing this problem?

    Bug in monthly view.
If I'm viewing the current month, all is fine. (So far for Sep and Oct). The top left hand corner labels the current month correctly and in bold. Eg. October 2013. I'll call this the (monthly) Label.
But if I scroll forward to view future months, the Label displays the month incorrectly, lagging by a month.
For example. I'm viewing the whole of January's calendar but the label would still be December.
I have to scroll till January is almost out of view ( and Feb coming into view) before the label indicates January. By then, the little 'Feb' in 'Feb 1' has disappeared.
And I would see Feb dates indicated as January.
This issue is unstable. When I first got to ios 7, the labeling issue was apparently from viewing the current month.
Now, it seems to behave for the current and next month before it goes haywire again.
So please do scroll to many months ahead to check if you have this bug.

  • IOS Photos app bug

I didn't know where to submit this to apple, so hopefully someone reads it.
Since about 2 iOS updates ago, I've noticed a bug in the regular Photos app. When switching back to Albums view after looking at Places, the list of albums will start at the very top of the screen (behind the clock, and app controls) making it impossible to click on the Camera Roll.
You have to go to the App Switched and kill the photos app to get it to work properly again.

Ah, now I see it's a well known problem...
It's been happening since 4.3, have they missed it in the last couple releases?
