You shouldn't lose any content when updating the iOS version. But you should always back up a device (or computer) before updating its OS just in case the update doesn't go smoothly - and preferably take your own copies of any important documents, photos, files etc.

Settings>Cellular>Personal Hotspot. The carrier has to support this for you. This is where you should find the setting to turn it on or off.

Yes, update first, Settings > General > Software Update.
Then navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

There is no choice
New iPhones come with the latest release the model will handle unless a very old model or very old stock and as soon as the iPhone is updated it will update to the latest release for that iPhone

Yep that's a good idea. I gave my feedback to Apple to tell them, that It is very bad that the lyrics are not shown anymore in the iOS 5 Music App.

We are trying to compile & run the following simple program with Studio 11 using the stlport4 libraries. It works without the stlport4 libraries but we have performance problems with the other libraries.
The compiler patches 120760-01 and 121017-01 have been applied.
The Solaris 10 version is 01/06. All the free patches are applied to Solaris 10.

Using either sdk 15 or 16, when live streaming video through media server, if I go from iOS to iOS devices, no issue. If I go from non-iOS device to iOS device, the non-iOS device receives the video and audio fine from the iOS device, but on the iOS device the video it receives freezes (almost from the start, after a couple of frames, then long, long pause of freeze - minutes long - then a few more frames, then freezing, etc.) - the audio is fine, it appears to be just the video. I have tested this with android to android (fine), android to desktop (fine), iOS to iOS (fine), android to iOS (freezing video only on iOS side), iOS to desktop (freezing only on iOS side).

VideoTexture is a HUGE improvement for video on Windows and iOS. I am testing on Windows 8 and iPhone 6, but VideoTexture is still in beta and will take a few more months to get the kinks worked out. It is working for me on iOS sometimes, and whenever it works the pixels have a transparency applied to them. I have logged that pixel transparency bug here:

On iOS the VideoTexture seems to work for MP4s loaded directly from the file system, but RTMP is not ready yet. But when it is ready, I suggest that you adopt it immediately since VideoTexture is where Adobe is focusing it's video efforts.

Catalyst 4500 IOS to IOS XE command compatibility check?

Good Day.
I will be performing 4500 non-E chassis to 4500E chassis upgrade this week.
non-E chassis has IOS 12.2 running on it while 4500E will have IOS-XE 3.2.5SG code running. Is there any website where I can paste the IOS configuration to see if they are compatible on IOS XE code?

There's no website or tool that I'm aware of to do such a pre-upgrade check for IOS to IOS-XE. That said, I've done several without issue. Just about all old commands carry forward.
One thing indirectly command-related is to make sure you have the same license level on the new switch (i.e. lanbase, ipbase or ipservices). If your new switch has a lower license level and you were using features that require the higher license level on the old switch, those commands won't be parsed on the new one because the features aren't available without the necessary license.
To verify, you should connect to the physical console port and log the output to a file while the system loads. Any commands that aren't parsed or have been deprecated will be logged as exceptions during the boot process. You can do this using the old switch configuration file loaded onto the new switch in advance of the actual cutover and resolve any issues ahead of time.
