Ios 7 & ipad non-responsive

I installed the ios 7 on my ipad 2 yesterday.  I got the message to connect to itunes.  I did this and it said I had to restore.  I clicked the button but it failed (several times).  When I plug the ipad into the computer it doesn't appear in my devices or under "my computer".  I cannot access the ipad at all as it permanently shows the connect to itunes display. I tried to connect to itunes on several computers to see if I could get it to work but again it failed.  Any suggestions?

Your ipad is in restore mode.
try reseting it to see if it can't get out of it.
have you tried holding the home and power buttons down while it is plugged into the computer?

  • Resolve iOS 8 issues - lagging, non-responsive screen and on-button, pages not loading, 3G use constantly curtailed.

Since updating my iPad2 with iOS 8 and the subsequent upgrade, my iPad has, ti allintents and purpses, become more of a burden than a useful everyday tool.
Specifically, there are many, many issues that are causing total havoc, namely:
    - pages lag on loading, or simply do not load AT ALL, going back to the App page instead
    - the ON button is non-responsive about 5 times out of 8 that I will want to switch it on
    - the 3G cellular use is virtually non-existant. To use 3G, I first have to go to SETTINGS, then RESET ALL NETWORK SETTINGS, then wait 5 minutes. This will give me between 3 and 26 hours 3G use
    - there is some kind of "jerkinness" when switching between the app page and actual app.
Whereas in the past all functions worked seamlessly, now I find that the iPAD has become totally unreliable. To make matters worse, when I approached the Apple support team nearest to me, I was told that many of these are common issues that have come about with the latest upgrade, and that if I wish, Apple will replace my iPAD2 with a like product for €299.00. As I have not caused the issues through mishandling or mis-use, this should not be replaced AT MY COST. Had I wanted a new one, I'd have bought a new one!!!!!!
Please advise how best to evolve these issues.

Agreed! This bug with the ringtone delay (№4.1) is really annoying

  • My Ipad 2 no longer displays anything. It may come on for a few seconds, but then half of the screen goes completely black, and the system becomes non responsive to all bottons. At other times all four sides of the display becomes black, about 1/4 inch.

Can anyone help me on this one? I got my IPAD 2 in June 2011. It never gave problems until a few days ago. It began to "hang", becoming non-responsive to all buttons. Then just yesterday morning, it went totally black. The display no longer displays. The Battery was charged 96%. I tried the power adapter, but had the same result. I tried the resetting, holding the two buttons for 10 seconds or more but no result. I have already restored it to the factory setting,(via my PC) and put back my apps etc. But after all this I still cannot see anything on the screen.
I know it is still working, because from time to timer I hear the message alerts, and other sounds.
    Waht is the likely solution?

    Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

  • I'm trying to use the slide to unlock bar but the iPad 3 touch screen is non responsive.

iPad 3 touch screen non responsive. How can I fix this?
I'm trying to use the slide to unlock bar but the iPad 3 touch screen is non responsive. How can I fix this!

I tried that step but it would not work. I think I may have changed a setting.
I was able to highlight a function but had to tap 3 times to get it to respond
to the command. I think it's some type of Restriction or Accessibility settings.
    Any suggestions?

  • Update to iOS 6.1.2 makes my power button non-responsive !

Anyone have this issue now? Update to iOS 6.1.2 makes my power button non-responsive. It wasn't like this before. It seems to lag for a few seconds before using the power button actually shuts off the screen.

The firewall would be in your router.
I would just keep retrying. The update is first downloaded. Then the update is expanded and then the iPod contacts the Apple server to verify the update. For some reason at that time the iPod can't contact the Apple server.  That has happened to me and it went through after one or two retries.

  • My 2013 ipad air just suddenly shut down and is non responsive

Purchased 2013 latest version of Aplle i pad air and it just went black and is non responsive.  Tried charging it and it is not reponding. What can I do?

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

  • IPad2kyboard non responsiveness post ios8 update

Here's the thing, occasionally now when I turn off or am out of range of my Logitech bluetooth keyboard, my iPad2 will punch up a non functioning keyboard on my screen. The keyboard looks normal except it has a black background and dark grey keys and is non responsive.  Hit any key, including the key to hide the keyboard and nothing happens.  I have to either re-boot the ipad to get rid, or turn on my bluetooth keyboard.  This appears to coincide with the ios 8 upgrade, or possibly my installation of the Fleksy keyboard, I'm not sure which, though I suspect the former.  Does anyone have any advice on what this is and how to counteract it without having to re-boot every time?  Obviously it is only a minor irritation as I use my bluetooth keyboard a lot but in situations where, for example I want to watch the night sky through an app, half the screen is obscured.

I believe the most popular free audio editing software for Windows is Audacity.  I've used it to normalize volume and then exported to MP3 before, so it's do-able.  It may not be the quickest way to normalize multiple files, but at least you also get the visual waveform here so you can see the difference after normalization.

  • When playing games on my iPod touch.  Some are stutters and non responsive

Trying to play games on my iPod touch and they are slow, stuttery and non responsive. iPod software is up to date

Do the games require an internet connection? If so then maybe slow connection.
    otherwise:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Can the Genius Bar cable to my iPhone 5S to enter my passcode on a broken, non-responsive touch screen?  I need to back up the 5S before replacing it under AppleCare

Can the Genius Bar cable my 5S to their computer or separate keyboard to enter my passcode on a broken, non-responsive touchscreen?  I need to get past the passcode to either transfer my data and pics to a new 5S or my PC computer (that the 5S has never been synced with.

Are you serious... only bluetooth keyboards? Even if the keyboard has the lightning connector? This supposedly works on the iPhone: http://store.griffintechnology.com/wired-keyboard-for-ios-devices

  • I have an ipod nano 2nd generation with a non responsive click wheel

I have an ipod nano 2nd generation with a non responsive click wheel. I have fully charged it tried resetting it and on two different computers with the latest iTunes I have restored it with the latest firmware then moved it to hold and off hold held in the menue button and select button for 10 seconds but all I get is a screen where I select the language but cant get any response from the scroll wheel.
The hold button is working (I see the lock icon go on and off) I have done the restore procedure and then reset many times but no good I am wondering if I should open it up and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds.
I would appreciate any advice thanks in advance. (This is my Daughters ipod mine is an 8 gig one.)

You need a newer model iPod, a 4G or 5G. The 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1

  • My I pad is non responsive, and the screen is full of coloured stripes. How do I fix that?

My brand new I pad 2 is non responsive and the screen is blac with horizontal coloured stripes.
    How do I fix that?

You could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then other things to try are a restore via your computer's iTunes, and then reset back to factory defaults. If none of them work then you may need to contact Apple.
