Ios 7 ipod music problem

I've updated my iPod touch to ios 7.0.4 today and now it won't let me play any music. It just skips through without as much as a note. How do I persuade it to play again. Why did I bother 'upgrading' to this awful os when the old one worked so well. Resetting does not seem to work.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Ipod Music Problem

Why does my music on my ipod disappear after its already been placed onto it?

Reset the iPod touch by holding down the Home and Hold button until the Apple logo appears (ignore the slide to off option). Wait for the iPod to start up and see if it happens again. If it does, then do a restore of the iOS software. The restore option is in iTunes when the iPod is plugged in. Restoring basically reinstalling the operating system on the iPod.

  • IPod Music Problems with the Latest Version

So I am happily using my iPod and iTunes 7 software with my Win2000 notebook and everything was working great.
Then I get a notice that there was a new version of iTunes (7.1) and do I want to download. So I download and then install the new version. All seemed well.
The next day, I go to work outside and I plug in my iPod to go to work and instantly notice, all my music is gone from it. And I think to myself, well that was really nice of the software upgrade to erase all my music off the iPod... some upgrade.
I open iTunes and see that it still sees all my music on the computer. Then I hook up the iPod and open the little icon to see what's on the iPod and all music seems to be shown there but it's all grayed out.
If I use the iPod menu to look for music, there is nothing shown on the iPod... no music, no playlists, nothing.
I did a restore using iTunes which seemed to erase the iPod and then a sync. During this process, I could see all the music being copied back to the iPod. Later, when it was done, I took the iPod outside with me to work and all my music was present and played fine.
Later I came back in and hooked the iPod up for a re-charge. My wife was about travel so I handed the iPod to her. Later I found out from her that there was no music on the iPod... she was not pleased.
So I look and sure enough, there is a later iTunes software update (7.1.1). I figure, there was a bug in the software and they have quickly recognized it and fixed it. So I download and install this version.
Same problem. No music on the iPod.
What's going on here? Do I have to go back to version 7 to get a functioning iPod again?
    Thanks!
    Mike Truly

I'm having a similar problem since the update, but iTunes seems to be a bit more selective for me. Even though it is shown under audiobooks under the iPod on the taskbar to the left of iTunes, the latest audiobook I purchased from the store--Wintersmith--is not showing up on my actual iPod. I've tried restoring my iPod, etc., and it simply won't show up. So far, all of the help topics I've looked at have really kinda failed to answer this problem with a specific solution; they all seem to follow the "try resetting it and see what happens" script. Is no one concerned about what specifically is happening, why it happens, and how to make the iPod function properly without having to reset it every time a glitch comes along?
    Any insight appreciated.

  • IOS 5 update/music problem

i just updated my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 and now only certain songs play from my music section of my phone. is this due to some setting or is it because of iOS 5?

I'm not sre where you got your information, but my iPod Touch disagrees with it.  I have a number of CD's I've convertd to MP3's and loaded into iTunes.  While I have not listend to every track from every CD since I've upgraded my iPod Touch to iOS 5, every track I have played has played just fine.  Granted, I only have about 12GB of audio files I've ripped from CD's but they all still seem to play just fne for me...

  • Fixed my iPod music problem

After many hours and lots of reading on this support community, I've finally got my music back. It was a matter of copying all the music into the iPod library on the new computer from my external hard drive. But it's taken a number of hours to re-create the Playlists, erase duplicates and generally tidy up. But I've done it.......yipee

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

I have looked at the "More" part but again radio is not an option.
    Can you help?

Just wait a bit.  Turn it off, then back on.
I don't know why, but after the update it doesn't show up right away.
When it finally does, you will find a red icon on the bottom of the screen, on the left side.

You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library. If you sync with another iTunes library/computer the media from the iPod will be deleted and replaced with the media on the second computer.
If you want to change syncing computers then:

  • [iPod 5G] Problems with Windows' iTunes keeping it synced.

I've been struggling to get my iPod 5G working on my windows computer. This is what happens EVERY time:
    - I connect my iPod, it gives me "Cannot read the content of the iPod XXX...."
    - I Restore my iPod (have also formatted it completely several times).
    - the iPod shows up in iTunes and it syncs.
    - I take the iPod out and i reconnect and it starts all over again and i get: "Cannot read the content of the iPod..."
Connecting the iPod to my MacBook will make it appear in iTunes and I'll be able to see the music and update it.
Things i've tried (in semi-random order, except for the last one):
    - Updated the iPod (1.2.1)
    - Restored the iPod about 10x
    - Different USB port and different iPod connection cable
    - Erased the iPod (3x): using Windows' format tool 1x and the Disk Utility in OS X 2x.
    - Uninstalled iTunes, Reinstalled.
    - Fresh install of Windows XP.
Could this be an iPod related problem? (it seems to work fine on my Mac)
Could this be an iTunes 7 related problem?
The iPod is brand-new, i got it after my old one had gotten a white screen that wouldn't go away. Could it be a faulty iPod they gave me?
P.S. Please don't suggest to 'just sync it with your mac' because it should work with the Windows computer that holds all my music.
      Windows XP Pro

    hi chris
    the difference is:
at home i've started it and it has been running 12 hrs without touching it
outside i've used it while running through the park five times, so i started and stopped it five times without touching it otherwise (didn't change songs)
do these five times starting/stopping waste 8,5 hrs battery runtime?
