IOS 7 Mail missing emails in inbox

In the Mail app, when you delete an email and then go to trash and send it back to inbox, it will not show up in the inbox. I've tried it with many emails and none of them ever show up. When I go to my inbox using mail.live.com, the emails are all there. Anyone know what's going on?

How can I restore inbox emails after I clicked rebuild accidentally in MAIL? After clicking Rebuild I quit. When I opened the software again, I was missing about 2.5 months worth of emails. My inbox says I have an unopened email but I can not find it. Thanks

  • Missing emails from Inbox

My Mail application has been running without incident for several months until Tuesday when the contents of the inbox where not in the view pane window. I had this problem before and followed the instructions once again. Namely; going to Library/Mail/Inbox.imapmbox, copying this file and then moving this copy to the desktop and then deleting the original inbox.imapmbox and then relaunching the Mail application. Unfortunately this time I have had little success and would welcome any suggestions that people may have on this.
When new mail arrives the Inbox displays notification of the number of emails but once read these disappear (I can still however read them through the Finder/~/Library/Mail/inbox. But it is far from satisfactory.
I only have a .mac account and am running OS X 10.4.9

When I log into my .Mac account via a browser, I can view all of the emails that are in the Inbox so I know that they are there.
The inbox in the Mail application dispays the number of new emails and on occassions will display only the new emails. None of the other 340 previously read ones. I have rebuilt the inbox twice and yes the emails do appear; however when you select a subfolder to view mail that has gone into these mail folders through Rules and then return to the main Inbox none of the emails that you have just rebuilt appear.

  • IOS Mail: outgoing email in limbo

I setup an IMAP email account on my iphone a few month back and I have been sending and recieving email without any problems until a few days ago... When, I replied to an email and it now sits in my outbox trying to send over and over again. It doesn't let me delete it and I can't stop it from trying to send. It still lets me send email, just this one keeps trying to send.
    Please HELP!

    Hi Sweta.
For sending outbound e-mails from SAP, the SAP system only supports integration with Outlook or Lotus Notes.
    Kind Regards

  • Make mail dock badge show all emails in inbox

Is there a way to make it so that the badge on the mail icon in the dock shows the number of emails in the inbox (not just the unread ones?)
    thanks

Thanks for the update. I guess it would be great if both Apple and MS come up with a solution for this issue as it is very critical. Please keep me posted if hear from them.
I found some article in Apple support with the following details. I tried both the options and it doesn't work either. More info here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mail/2.0/en/ml1002.html
Reindex mailboxes. To do so, quit Mail and, in the Mail folder in your home Library folder, move the Envelope Index file and any folders that begin with "Mac-", "Exchange-", or "IMAP-" to a different location, such as your desktop. When you open Mail, it reindexes all messages in local mailboxes or POP folders and re-downloads all messages from the mail server. This process can take several minutes depending on how many messages are in your mailboxes.
For a POP account, reimport mailboxes. To do so, choose File > Import Mailboxes, and then choose "Mail for Mac OS X." In the Mail folder in your home Library folder, select the folder that begins with "POP-" (for example, [email protected]). If the problem persists, try again, this time choosing "Other" and then selecting the affected mailbox itself (for example, Library/Mail/POP- [email protected]/Inbox.mbox).

  • Missing emails in Mail - Lion deleting them?

I'm using Mail with two IMAP accounts (oneis gmail), and I'm experiencing a little weirdness.
I seem to be missing emails coming in, which I'm not deleting or filing away.
I got in late last night and checked my emails on my iPhone. I read one that needed to be replied to today, then closed Mail on my iPhone and went to bed.
This morning, I jumped on my Lion iMac and opened Mail - and the email I read on my iPhone doesn't appear in my inbox. I checked on my iPhone and iPad and it's not there either.
I didn't delete it or move it or do anything other than read it on my iPhone.
I asked on another forum, and one person said the following:
I am experiencing the same thing. I seem to be able to send email from the Lion's new Mail, but can't receive any.
I have several mail accounts in Mail and the problem seem to be the same with all of them regardless of whether on exchange server or not. The strange thing is that I can see and read some of the "invisible" incoming mail in my iPhone, but if I try to refresh my Mail accounts on mac, it may delete the new emails also from my iPhone! The disappearing emails are nowhere to be found and I have also checked the external exchange service mail boxes and junk mail and spam boxes.
Quite serious bug causing a lot of harm!
So it doesn't seem to be just me.
    Anyone else?
    Cheers.

    Ditto,
I have an Exchange, 5 IMAP, and a POP account.  I only have the exchange and an IMAP set up on my phone and iPad, so I only know that those are acting odd for sure.  Not really sure what the problem is.  The emails are showing up in searches.  I have a special "ding" for when my wife emails me and that sounds, but I can only see it if I search for it. The message, along with, most, others wont show up in my inbox...
I'm a part of the developers beta for iCloud and have iOS 5 beta on my iPad but not my iPhone.  Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I figured I should mention.
I really have no idea where to start to fix this bug.  Maybe adding and removing the account, but if it's a problem spanning multiple accounts, that doesn't seem likely and with the number of email I have, it'd require quite a while to sync up again.

  • Missing email from my iCloud inbox.

When I download eMail messages they downloadI And I can see that happen. However, the eMail messages do not go to my iCloud Inbox. Nor do the eMail messages go to my gmail Inbox.
Strangely most, but not all eMails, can be found in gmail folder "Important".
I also had the same problem with Mobile Me, unfortunely at that time I did not have a gmail account. Those missing eMails from the Mobile Me Inbox were never recovered. So I gaps in my email, weeks, or months.

To change the From name on and iOS device, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap iCloud under Accounts, tap your iCloud account at the top of the next screen, tap Mail at the bottom of the next screen, then enter the name you want to use in the Name field at the top.
To change the From name on a Mac (if you have one), go to icloud.com, sign into your account, open Mail, click the gear shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, go to the Accounts tab and enter the name you want to use in the Full Name field and click Done.  Then quit Mail on your Mac and re-open it.  Your new From name should now appear in the drop-down list when you compose a new email.

  • Is there a way to show only flagged email on iOS Mail?

I use Exchange 2007 at work with Outlook 2010.  I also use my iPad to connect to my company Outlook Web Access.  On the iPad I am able to mark a message as flagged.  I use the flag on a message to indicate that there's some action that I need to take on the email.  After I skim my inbox and flag all the emails with actionable items in them I go to my smart folder in Outlook which shows only my flagged messages so I can focus on those with actionable items.  I noticed on IOS Mail there does not seem to be such smart folders and there seems to be no way to view only messages which are flagged.
Can someone please explain how to do this on the iPad.  It is very important to me.  In fact, it's so important, that I would switch to Windows Phone platform just to have this one feature.
    Thanks!

I too would love to filter my inbox down to just flagged emails - I'm on iPad 3 with latest iOS, though it seems latest OS is not the problem, but rather a simple oversight in usability, and more important productivity.
On the note of productivity, why does it take SO MANY clicks to flag an email on iPad mail? Have to hit Edit > mark the email > Mark > Flag. I count three superfluous taps there. There should be a swipe action on the left (much like the swipe and Delete on the right hand side of the email heading) for flagging. And a simple little flag symbol at the top to hit when I want to see only flagged mails. Productivity should be the name of the game.
I also realise that venting in this forum probably isn't the best place for it...

  • Ios 4 threaded email issue with outlook inbox?

Anyone else have mail in their outlook inbox get removed or otherwise hidden when threading is turned on in IOS 4?
I can see the full threaded conversation on the phone, but only the most recent message in a thread is in my outlook inbox.
    Input, solutions?

Hi. This is a very delayed post to your original. I would like though to ask if you still have fully threaded emails in your iPhone. Since iOS 4.1 there are apparent issues, and it depends how you define 'threaded'. I am using Gmail and they have a threaded/conversations method of reading mail, very useful to see the entirety of a discussion. On my new iPhone 4 using the iPhone native mail app will not show threaded, only all of the messages from the other party, I'd need to scroll through a message to see my own input.. Or look in the Sent Mail folder. Both of which seem antiquated to me. I was interested in your post as you describe seeing your threaded mail properly on iPhone. Is this still the case?
    Thanks
    AMH.

  • IOS Mail filters (unread, flagged, attachment, etc) only works in inbox

I decided to ask a question due I'm unable to use the Apple iOs Mail app because the filters (unread, flagged, today, VIP, with attachment...) it only shows me the messages that are in the INBOX. If I move any email to another location, or if it's applied automatic filtering, the iOS Mail app filters doesn't work. I noticed that the Mac Mail app does it well, searching in all folders, but with the iOS app I can't do that. That's the reason I can't use it. I can't do "inbox zero" because then all that "smartboxes" are useless.
I searched in settings but I can't find that. Please tell me if that is only my problem or if happens to everybody. I tryed with almost every account type (iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo). My iPhone is 4S with iOS 8.1.3.
    Thank you.
    Guillermo, from Madrid (Spain)

I am having the same problems on several machines, but others do work correcly.
Did you by any chance migrate your account from Entourage ? I am rebuilding accounts right now from scratch and it seems to be working (2 accounts so far).
Looks like preferences migrated from Entourage are not compatible with Outlook. Well, in my case at least.
    Best of luck.

  • IOS Mail Retaining All Email, Can't Selectively Delete Old Messages

Thought I missed something in setup for my POP3 accounts, but apparently not. Got almost a years worth of email on the device with thousands of messages, many with large attached files, and no apparent way to trim it down. Unlike every other mobile PDA device I’ve ever owned, there is no way to set a limit to how many days/months/years of email messages that an iPhone will retain. There is also no way to selectively choose email messages for deletion based on how many days/months/years old they are. Am I missing something fairly obvious here?

Webmail on a server has no effect on POP3 clients, like the iPhone's IOS mail. Once they're picked up by the email client, only the client, itself, can access them.
Email clients for more than 30 years have had this basic function. Absolutely amazing that Apple deliberately left it out of this one.

  • How do flagged emails in iOS Mail app sync with Gmail Starred emails?

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how the "Flagged" mailbox on iOS mail interacts with Gmail's "starred" messages.  It seems that messages that I star on Gmail and then archive do not show up in the Flagged mailbox on iOS, and that only starred messages that are still in my inbox show up.  Is that correct?  DOes anyone know a workaround to get starred and archived messages to show up?
    Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, but the Gmail app is not the solution.  I have three different accounts, and I want to have just one folder where all my flagged/starred emails are collated. I don't want to be jumping between different accounts.

  • Cannot open Inbox in the IOS Mail app

    Hello,
Anyone else, besides me, unable to open the Inbox in the IOS Mail app this morning? I can view the emails in Yahoo mail on my PC, but I don't see any emails in the IOS Inbox on my Ipad Air 2. I deleted on my Yahoo Mail account on my Ipad, and then reactivated the account. However, my emails still don't display.  To try to find a solution to the problem, I also activated my Gmail account in the IOS Mail app, but the emails for that account do not display as well. Accordingly, I wonder if there is a glitch in the IOS system today.

Any glitch in iOS mail would be in iCloud mail, not the mail app itself and that's what you seem to be experiencing. IIf you ever want to check to see if there are problems with any apple services, you can check here.
    https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
Start with really basic troubleshooting steps. Close the mail app and reset the iPad. If that fails, reset all settings.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Reset all settings..... You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

  • Email Folders & iOS Mail App

As I have quite a few cntacts on my email account I have folders set to recieve e emails from specific coontacts. I noticed that folders don't appear and junk mail doesn't get sorted for my hotmail. But I was wondering do other supported email providers show custom folders users may have on their account? I attached a screenshot (pixelated a few things) to show my folders (that you see under my Inbox. I am wondering If any email providers supported by mail can show custom folders like mine (scouts, sent 2 myself, online news and so on are custom folders I have). DO any email accounts from suppor providers show custom folders like mine in the screenshot in the iOS mail app?

Is your Yahoo account a POP email account? If so there is no way to sync the folders to your iPhone. Only IMAP accounts sync folder. The best you could do is log in through Safari.
