IOS 7 older app support

i want to upgrade to ios 7, but there is an app that i really want (i haven't bought it yet) that does not currently support ios 7. can i still use the app on ios 7, or will it not work at all? i cannot find any help on this issue.

What does the app's description page in the store say ? Unless the app explicitly says that it doesn't work on iOS 7 then it should do so (I haven't had any problems using any of my apps on iOS 7, including those that haven't had an update since iOS 7 came out), though you could check to see if there are any recent reviews for the app in the store that mention any problems and/or try contacting the developer

Older apps, latest iOS compatibility?

Hi, I have a 3rd-gen iPod Touch. When I exchange it for the latest iPod Touch, will all the older apps still function? I'm aware some may not fill the entire screen, but is there any danger of any older apps (that have been abandoned) simply not working?

The old apps will work fine but, as you said might not make full use of the screen. To setup the new iPod:

Ios 6 music app on ios 7 (to fix genre issue)

I am no longer able to drill down from genre to artists songs in the genre and their albums with songs in that genre. Apple has told me that is by design. So I have lost that ability and some others here have said the same thing.
Is there a way to find and use the ios 6 music app under ios 7 somehow? Else, I need to find a 3rd party app that will play the existing music (I don't want to download anything outside of itunes) and allow me to drill down from genre as ios 6's music app allowed me to do.
Any suggestions (incl. possible apps if I can't use ios 6 music app)?

I use, by the way, the windows app Tag & Rename. Have been using it for years and highly recommend it if you are on the windows platform. In order to get things to work properly I had to change tags in two ways for ios 7: (1) copy all my artist fields to album artists fields and (2) (unfortunately) pull out the data in the year field (which I moved to the comment field) since ios 7 now sorts by the year field as well.
That got the ios 7 music player to final list the stuff properly - at least as I drilled down from genre. Still, the interface was at a minimum "wanting". I found an inexpensive (not free) app - I think it was something like $3.99. It was written and supported by two programmers - a 18 and 21 year old. Still the interface is relatively clean and the gestures once learned make things easy to find out and change with a single finger - check it out: "Ecoute". It does the job for me much better then ios 7's.
My only complaint is since I do not have album art or any other art associated with music as I am a composer and write my own material - I end up with 5 rows and 3 columns of icons with default icons. But even that has an 'option' as you can get a textual list by taping on the top. If you are at genres and the artist is showing, tapping on the top will list all the tracks in alphabetical order with times for that artist. If the albums are showing in the screen - tapping on the artist on the top will display all the tracks in alphabetical order with a line below them describing the album name. And when you tap just on the album icon, you get just a list of the tracks.
Some other cool tapping and swiping actions.... easy to learn...

WHen I first installed iOS 6 the App Store crashes...and now having iOS 6 for 2 weeks now, all my apps are buggy and now are crashing! Safari and built in apps are becoming slow and crash. I hate how apple leaves iPod touch 4g and iPhone 4 in the dark.

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting all the apps, I recommend restarting your iPad and then resetting if it's still not working:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.

If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPad. The Reminders app is not something that can individually be reinstalled, but backing up your iPhone and restoring the iOS software will reinstall the application:

Starting when iOS 7 was releases, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Suddenly iOS 8 Notes app type is tiny

I've been using the iOS 8 Notes app for months on an iPhone 6 Plus.
Today I went to the app and the suddenly the text is tiny — at a guess I'd say 6 point — it's normally around 14 point.
How did this happen? How can I make sure it doesn't happen again and how can I restore my note to the usual type size?

When you're in the camera app you'll see a little icon with a camera symbol or a video symbol. Flip the on screen slider from one to the other and you can shoot video.

It sounds like your rear facing camera is not functioning correctly. I would start by quitting all the open apps on the phone with the following article:

Were they on your computer's iTunes when you started the update ?
As long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . If you download them to your computer's iTunes you could then try restoring to your backup and see if that restores them and their settings/content - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them.

I have an iPhone 4. I connect it to a car audio system (JVC) which has A2DP support. This morning, I tried to play music from the spotify client to the car audio, but the music kept playing on the iPhone instead. I tried looking for the AirPlay button but it was nowhere to be found, even though the system was connected to a A2DP-capable system. I went to Music, and to other apps, and none of those showed the AirPlay button even though the Bluetooth icon was on (connected).
Yesterday I was able to play music through the car audio bluetooth system, so there is definitely something wrong going on with iOS5. I will try deleting the pairing and re-pairing, and see if that fixes the issue, but I think there's something else going on.

TS1702 I am unable to tap on the links on an app in the app store to go to the app support page.

When I'm viewing an app in the app store and I tap on either the button for the developers web site or the button for app support the button hi lights but nothing happens. I just upgrade to iOS 5.1 or whatever just came out. I tried turning my iPad off and on. I don't know what else to try so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When you restore your iDevice, you restore the iPad to its original, out of the box, factory settings. The last step in restoring the device is to restore your iPad from a backup in order to recover all of your app data and then you follow that with a sync with iTunes to put all of your apps, music, photos, and other media back onto the iPad. So when the complete operation is peromfed properly, you shouldn't lose anything. What you are doing is reinstalling the iOS because something may have gone corrupt.
I mention restoring as a possibility and am saying that it may be the answer to this problem after all else has failed. It may not work either so it would be a last resort - like I said, if all else fails. But there are still other things that you can try before that.
