Ios 7 safari's favorites tab

I was wondering i updated my ipad to ios 7 then when i opened it i saw apple disney and yahoo tabs they all belong to favorites. I was wondering if i can put a website in favorites tab? Thanks please help me

Thank you very much.
I was trying to do this as well and would not have been able to add to favorites without your help.
It is certainly not obvious.
In fact a funny field opened at the bottom of my iPad whilst I was typing this,
Apple, Microsoft and Google seem to be in a race to the bottom to confound their users.
Even adding this is difficult.

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

  • IOS 7 Safari tab major bug

So I run a white iPhone 5S and I recently started looking into what I thought was a faulty screen.. every time I reopened a tab in safari (usually dark images) white fuzzy dots/lines would jolt around the edges of the screen, sometimes bleeding across horizontally. It wasn't until recent research that I saw some feedback on iOS 7 Safari tabs (in the beta stage) that the anti-aliasing wasn't kicking in fast enough and the outlines were supposed to be immensly jaggerdy.. well that's still the same, and to my best guess I have a feeling that this issue has something in relation to anti-aliasing/resizing the content.
A colleuge of mine also tried it on his iPhone 5, and he too got the same results.. horrid white glitchy patterns upon reopening a tab - please follow this link for a quick reprosenation: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=vobyhf&s=5#.Umftg5Tk9Gg
It's a little weird really.. it happens 99.8% of the time with dark photos, but only around 92% of the time with dark web pages. I did manage to screen shot it in action this morning, however only two white pixels are visible as I only just caught it (it's in different patterns each time) every other time I took one I only managed to capture a blank page with a warped web page filling out slowly; so basically the animation when reopening a tab. Ironicly if I had another iPhone 5S then I would record it in the 'slo-mo' setting but unfortunately I don't.
    Has anyone else experienced/heard/seen this?
p.s. I have just updated to 7.0.3 and it's still doing it

hello i have the same problem with my iphone 5 ,i'm experiencing the problem just in safari ,when i switch between dark tabs it flickering white spots dots pixels on the edge just like in your video!i have 7.0.4 and i'm wondering if i go to the retail store i would receive a replacement or a repair or something !i am going to make an apple appointment genius bar ,see if i could do something about it..

  • IOS 8 Safari blank screens

Ever since I installed iOS 8, Safari has been rendering the occasional page as a blank screen. This seems to occur frequently if I change tabs and then swap back, and reloading the page doesn't seem to do anything. The solution I have found for the moment is to rotate the device which causes the page to show correctly, then rotate back. This is clearly not a permanent solution and I would love to know how to fix the issue.

Same here on 4th-gen iPad.  100% reproducible in certain spots.  If I start to backspace and delete text, it gets real sluggish.  I'm wondering if the spell check is causing it to hang.  iOS 8 IS A DISASTER!

  • IOS 8 Safari Problem

I'm using iPad mini 16 GB Wi-Fi model. So far I found 3 problem in Safari of iOS 8.
Using Safari can't upload image from Photos app to image hosting. I'm also found a thread someone who also complain cannot upload his image to Facebook. So I suspect everything that including upload image is got same problem.
Copy image have different behaviour. OK... this is bit hard to describe so I will just giving example.
Here is image with no URL hyperlink so you just can't open this on new tab. The only option is save image or copy :
Here is image with hyperlink, you can open in new tab and also copy link.
I know iOS 7 Safari had limitation but at least not so crippled in iOS 8. In iOS 7 I could copy then place it on address bar, paste it to get the URL http://blabla.eww/filename.jpg. Now in iOS 8 I'm hoping the image have URL hyperlink, but sadly most isn't. Of course I could save it then upload to image hosting. Then back again to first problem, can't upload image from Safari, cheers. I hope Apple add copy image address, same with Safari desktop. Even if they can't bring back some behaviour of iOS 7. I really need this copy image address thing.
There is also some rare case Safari hung up in typing area of forum/image board when I'm trying to copy paste and delete a word. While I say rare this actually happen 3 times and I haven't using iOS 8 more than 72 hours.
I haven't try other browser. If someone knew other browser working fine in iOS 8, let me know.

I finally gave up and rolled back to 7.1.2. Just to much odd stuff like broken Apps not to mention the Safari and Camera issues. I ma posting what I did here like I did on the other forum page. The only caveat is on when using iTunes on a Windows PC you must rename the download file with the .ipsw extension as it will down load as a .zip. You do not unzip it just rename it. Follow the rest of the directions an you will be fine. I am told this may not be available much longer so if you want to revert do it soon:

  • IOS 5 Safari Reader mode doesn't work on an iPad 1º generation

iOS 5 Safari Reader mode doesn't work on an iPad 1º generation. How can I fix that?

Hi.  I am having the same problem on an original iPad. The tabbed browsing works fine, but no "reader" button is showing up in the URL window at the top...
Anyone else seeing this and is a reinstall of ios5 really needed?

  • Safari show all tabs doesn't work all the time

It is annoying: safari show all tabs doesn't work all the time. The little icon to the right of the "New Tab" area sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. The Shift Command Back-slash, sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. I find no rhyme nor reason for this. I have a MacBook Pro, Mountain Lion, the latest updates. It doesn't matter if I am in Full Screen or not.
I am quite confused regarding this.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type of copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, empty the cache more often from your keyboard.

  • How Do I Launch Safari with Multiple Tabs Open to Specific Pages?

I'd like a Windows shortcut that opens Safari with multiple tabs open to specific pages. With other browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc.), this is easily done by composing a command line that lists all desired URLs. However, Safari doesn't seem to use the same command line syntax as other browsers. Furthermore, I can't find Safari's command line syntax documented anywhere. From the comments I've seen while researching this question, I suspect this is a neglected area of Safari development, and that Safari simply can't be configured to open multiple pages. However, I'd like to make sure. Can it?
    -TC

It strikes me that it should be possible to do that (or something similar) by building a safari extension, TC. Both Sessions and SafariRestore are able to launch multiple tabs from a previous session, so it seems like you should be able to create an extension that launches multiple tabs open to specific sites when Safari is launched.

  • How do I add a new site to my Favorites tab?

I need to add a new site to my favorites tab.

    Hey scrambler1105,
It sounds like you want to add a website to the toolbar. Is that right? It's really easy and there are a few ways to accomplish this. Take a look at [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/how-do-i-use-bookmarks?s=favorites&r=2&as=s#w_working-with-your-bookmarks-in-the-library-window this article] and it should give you all the information you need.

  • Mystery of mysteries. Can't get rid of "Glossary" text on Favorites tab.

I consider myself relatively well-versed in chm file compiling and chm related issues, but this one has me stumped...
    System Specs;
RH 9 now (initial English help in background below was compiled using RH 7)
    Windows 7 64-bit
First, the background -- We use RoboHelp to compile our English CHM. We then decompile the files from the CHM and ship those off for localization. When they come back from translation, we use usually use FAR HTML to recompile the help. Sometimes we use RH (if FAR HTML is being tempermental). And in rare cases, like today, we use both. So today I was working on compiling a Traditional Chinese help we got back from translation recently. I tried using FAR HTML as usual for the initial post-translation compile. I ran into various and sundry compiler errors that made no sense whatsoever, so I decided to try compiling it in RH instead. The compilation made it through, but the Contents and Index tabs weren't displaying the proper Chinese characters. So I took this Traditional Chinese chm that was compiled by RH, decompiled it, and tinkered with .hhc and .hhk file encoding and charsets and used FAR HTML again to compile. And this time compiling worked without a hitch. We got proper characters. Yay! So far so good. Well, sort of. That's just the background.
Now, the problem -- So now, compiling back in FAR HTML from the above decompiled RH 9 files, I'm getting a psuedo Glossary tab I don't want since in our localized versions of the help. (We simply just call an htm containing the glossary info, and tie the htm to the toolbar.) I say "pseudo" because here's what the navigation pane on the compiled help looks lilke:
Notice that the Favorites tab is actually somehow getting named as "Glossary".  We don't want this. I want the default "Favorites" text for the tab. If I unregister the hhactivex.dll and recompile, the "Glossary" string on the tab thankfully goes away, showing just "Favorites". If I register the dll again or move the compiled help onto a system with a registered hhactivex.dll, the problem reappears all by itself when the help is launched.
How can I get my Favorites tab back to normal? I suspect this problem is contained somewhere in the HHP file, specifically my Windows definition. But I've tried recreating the hhp, and the window definition many times, but it still appears. I even at one point tried removing the Favorites tab but then the mystery "Glossary" text moves onto infesting the Search tab.
Here's my hhp innards if it helps:

Is RH somehow still doing something to it even though technically I'm not using it to compile? Is there some other setting or file somewhere that could be controlling this or is it just a compiler bug that I've never noticed?

Thanks Cara, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing. In this problem the Favorites tab in the CHM was showing up with the word "Glossary" in it. Anyway, it's water under the bridge now for me. Things are better now that we're localizing our Engish RH project directly, instead of our old way of decompiling the English chms and sending the decompiled htms.

  • I imported all my favorites from Internet Explorer, but in the Firefox window I don't see a favorites tab. I've got a bunch of favorites that I don't want to have to redo. Any advice?

    Question
I imported all my favorites from Internet Explorer, but in the Firefox window I don't see a favorites tab. I've got a bunch of favorites that I don't want to have to redo. Any advice?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks).
If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.<br />
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • Lost bookmark button and favorites tab. How do I get them back?

I had problems with my NEW Dell computer and had to have everything removed and had to start over again. (not by me, by a professional) After all was done and my info was replaced, my favorites and bookmark button disappeared. I called Dell and had a download Dell PC TuneUp. Which really took care of a lot of problems. Finally I realized my above buttons were missing. I downloaded a Google tool bar, but the bookmark format is not like it was. I do not like what they now have. My favorites tab appeared for a while then vanished. I don't know how to get it back.

Did you or they make a backup of your profile data before removing (reinstalling) everything ?
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders, use %APPDATA% in the File name field<br />

Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders"<br />
